I've gone through the most important episodes, as listed in the thread of the "100 most important", but what I want to start doing now is simply reading some saga of Spider-Man (not interested in Miles one). Which one do you recommend? I loved the movie Amazing Spider-Man 2, and am looking for something along those lines

Assuming you want story arcs for Ultimate Spider-man:

Venom, Cat's and kings, Carnage, Deadpool, and Ultimatum are personal favorites of mine.

I'm having a hard time understanding your question, but you are asking for any spidey story from any series excluding miles morales and the top 100 on that one comicvine post?

If so id just like to recommend some writers to go through instead of just stories. Read everything Roger Stern, Tom Defalco, Brian Bendis, J.M.S., the majority of Stan Lee's run if you have not completed it and also Stan Lee back up stories that can be found in some annuals and other big issues. Pretty much every landmark issue has important back up stories and many are very enjoyable. I would also highly recommend anything you haven't read of Dan Slott as I know no one else on here will. Everything he has done is amazing including his superior spider-man run.

The Evil That Men Do is horribly underrated and under-appreciated, I suggest you check that one out.

@vold0: It depends on what exactly you're looking for. The movies are sort of an Amalgam of Amazing Spider-Man and Ultimate Spider-Man. Though I think the Ultimate Spider-Man comics might be closer. That being said if you're interested in the Amazing series I suggest picking up JMS's run. Except for OMD avoid that thing like the plague.

@master_of_suprise: Haha, thanks for the tip, will do! I'll start with Ultimate for now, though I've targetted some issues of Amazing that have been recommended by friends of mine too

I personally like the time around the Totem saga in Amazing. So that, I guess. Haven't seen the second ASM movie, so I bet it's not in line with what you expect from the movie, but in my humble opinion it's probably when Peter felt the most grounded and stable and having it actually improve the stories, rather than not.

@sasukemilesmorales: To be honest no. My whole childhood was based on Peter as the spiderman. Since I'm curious to get into it again, it seems fitting that it should start with him as well :)

God no. I'd recommend McFarlane and Mackie before ever nominating that hack. Superior is so bad it makes OMD look like something by Kubrick

Vold, when your Ultimate journey is done, it's best you carry on with Miles, he really is the best new Spider-Man character we've had in years since Spider-Girl and his story is way more compelling than most of what goes on in the regular books.

If you want a good laugh and a daily distraction, try to track down the Spider-Man newspaper strip online, it's got some wacky nonsensical stories in there but they are entertaining enough.
