Within the voids of the unknown Maia streaked through the ether of a foreign dimension. A new threat had recently arrived, and has now begun to show its own power within the midst of this Multiversal Crisis. Her eyes sparked with divine blue and determination as she continued to move through the energy of the unknown existential plane. The wails and howls of the celestial horrors were defening, causing her to try to tone out the ambience. Usually she was accompanied by a small group known as the Orion, but today she was alone. The rest of them split ways to deal with the new crisis in their own individual ways, hers was to keep the space-eating bastards at bay.
Within the distance, the purple hazy of the dimensional plane shone with a lighter pink, indicating the center of the nigh-endless space. A small smile crept upon her face, the adrenaline began to rush in. All she had to do was strike this monstrosity in its heart while it was in an infancy state to prevent it from turning the universe she was in, inside out. She began to notice these attacks happened in an increasing frequency since the arrival of the Dark Multiverse, but some dated before the arrival of the Dark Multiverse. These dimensional monsters, Inversitres, she liked to call them, did what their name suggested; they inverted things. Not just things but universes, destroying the previous universe while they were at it.
She learned that striking them hard enough before they reached a mature age, caused them to implode, turning them into a spacy mush. Reeling her fist back, her eyes locked onto the increasingly visible pulsating of the Inversity's spatial heart. She tuned out all sound, expect the oddly rhythmical celestial harmony produced by the beating organ. Her fist met the skin and then the meat -due to lack of better word the describe what she was feeling- until it finally pierced the heart, unleashing a flash of blinding light.

She was back in her room, her apartment in New Orleans, if it hadn't been the fourth time this happened she may have been surprised. But for now, she felt as if she accomplished a victory. She sluggish left her bedroom, her answering machine began to beep, as if its life were in danger. Usually Noone called her, but this could possibly mean only one thing, it was her dad. Pressing the confirmation putting, the message played, filling the room with a familiar voice:
"Good Morning. Now, I'm not sure whether you're working or doing what someone like you would do. But have you checked out the new school, I heard they're really accepting of people of your kind. Plus who knows, you may actually make some friends you can relate with."

It ended, the message was extremely vague, but she immediately knew what he was talking about. Her dad was the only person to know about her possession of superpowers, having experienced it first hand when she awakened them. From there, he tried to push her towards a school where the kids have superpowers but ,in all honesty, she didn't feel like she needed it. They were most likely inexperienced, a group of kids that had either accidentally killed their family when their powers awakened or have no idea how to use it. Plus, the threats she faced would potentially pose a major problem if they found the school, putting the inexperienced in danger.
She picked up the cell phone and called her dad back, about to tell him the same reason she had many times before, but he never picked up, expected of him. Maia turned to the her closet and went to pick her usual outfit, leaving the apartment as United Nation, having to deal with a bank robbery somewhere downtown.
