"A knife in the dark is best kept clean."
One of the greatest conspiracy theories to surround the subject of Nazi supremacism, the Viertes Reich (or Fourth Reich) is supposedly an underground organization formed after the end of the second World War by the infamous Nazi General, Emil Tod. This theory has long since been thrown away as a mere idea in the 1970s, and historians have claimed that such a creed would be almost impossible. However, much of the Viertes Reich is true. Emil Tod lives, and with him, the glory of the Nazi dream lives on as well, thanks to an intricate network of spies.
A Brief History
The Viertes Reich was formally introduced in July of 1950, five years after the second World War officially ended. Before the official name, it was simply believed to be a continuation of the Third Reich, as Emil and his squadron scoured the globe in search of allies to the Nazi party. However, years passed, and eventually, Emil realized that he was one out of a very small number of devout Nazis. Using the battleship that had been so frequently manned in combat in the war, he set out to find whatever support he could on his own, taking the leadership position.
Where Hitler had failed, he would triumph- no matter how long it took.
Unfortunately, the first few years of the Viertes Reich were not glorious. Scrounging for food alone was hard, as a reinstated Berlin no longer supported Nazi power, and actually shunned General Tod- considering him to be a freak of nature, something that went against the very will of God. They would not let him be seen as a monument of the war, and if anything, Emil was symbolic of tyranny, and evil. The Red Death acknowledged all of these things, and resented his home country for it. Several years passed, the Viertes Reich serving as mere mercenaries to most of the criminal underground throughout the 20th century, and waited for their plots to unfold.
For all this time, they were merely rumors. A ghost ship that sailors would be haunted by, pirates that worshiped Adolph. These were, of course, only partially true. During these years, Emil reevaluated exactly what the Nazis stood for, and picked and chose exactly what parts were true. Was there a way to achieve a supreme, ultimate race of humanity? Of course- he and his soldiers were proof enough of that. Did the answers lie purely in Aryan blood?
No. They did not.
Thus, General Tod extended his range of mercenary recruitment, and hired whoever would be willing to work for such a seedy organization. Devoting his troops to studying the arts of espionage, Emil knew that the most he could do was wait for opportunity to strike... And, eventually, it did. The modern era came about, with powers of intelligence reaching an all time high. Computers and cell phones were now almost vital to everyone, regardless of their status. The internet came, and with it, a storm of information, knowledge that could not be suppressed by even the mightiest of governments. Freedom was a gift that had come back to bite the Americans, and Tod knew that the opportunity to utilize the foolishness of the American dream was at hand.
The Viertes Reich's information agency grew in ways that were inconceivable before the dawn of the new century.
The Anvil
The primary base of operations of the Viertes Reich, the Anvil is a battleship that has been updated and modified ever since the end of the second World War. Powered by a Red Sentinel ring that was forcefully stolen from it's chosen patron, the boat has now become an incredibly potent weapon, capable of performing many of the tasks that an actual Sentinel can do- including flight, energy constructs, and so on. With Emil at the head of the ship, it has become more of a battle station than ever before, and the Red Sentinel energy has gone on to fuel the weaponry of the band of super soldiers. Also considering the ship has one of the most powerful computers in the galaxy from the Sentinel ring, it is almost impossible to hack, and is a master at hacking in itself.
The Sentinel ring, with a mind of it's own, has connected directly with the computer systems of the actual Anvil, and the two work together brilliantly.
The ship has a crew of approximately three dozen men. This amount is usually even smaller, as several of the Viertes Reich's agents go off on the mainlands to perform espionage, constantly reporting back to the actual Anvil (wherever in the world it may be at the time).
Using this astounding futuristic technology, General Emil Tod is satisfied with the lack of numbers in his crew, and knows that someday, the world will see- and idolize- his original thirty six men.
