@ishin: dropping the OoC now
@james_batson: That's not how tiers work. There is pretty much street, mid, high, herald, skyfather level. If you are rating each of the above by a score of 10 in a battle then Iron Man is around an 8 as a mid tier. You can probably stretch it to a 1 in high tier with prep. Spider-Man is 10 in street so he is around a 2 in mid-tier. He is the same as Ghost Rider that way. Typically though Iron Man is not considered street. On scaling you pretty much rank them of how much output one can exert. Captain America and SPider Man are essentially group busters while Iron Man is a building buster if not a city block level
Spidey does that by choice, his powers when he's actually cutting loose is disgusting.
He's soloed the X-Men, Fantastic Four, and a lot of others. He's a casual 25-30 tonner and he's shown feats of lifting hundreds of tons before, and he's shown actual supersonic speed feats before.
If he really wanted to the Sinister Six wouldn't stand a chance.
He's one of those characters not really affected from PIS because he in character limits himself. So when he does crazy feats its more believable as him cutting loose
He has before.
People always underestimate Spider-Man because of his whole "Friendly Neighborhood" Status but he's insanely powerful on all ends of the Spectrum.
One of my favorite moments with him is when the dude took on a Phoenix Force empowered Colossus and Magik, and even though he got his shit rocked he still managed to land a few good blows, and even more impressive is that he survived.
A Phoenix Force Empowered Colossus.
Literally the punch looked like it caved his face in, but he still managed to get them to beat each other after being literally knocked completely senseless after the two ping pong balled him *LOL*, like if I remember right he called Captain America Uncle Ben lmao
@james_batson: Yeah, that's called a plot inconsistency. 9.9/10, Peter is a best building level. Writers who don't know what they're doing just beef him up for insane BS like that lol. It's not rocket science man, this is coming for a giant comic book nerd myself who done over a hundred debates like this in battles... Peter could hang with a standard Iron Man suit at his best for a while, but he's getting thrashed once he approaches people in Invisible Woman or Thor's tier.
If Chase = 616 Peter, he could take on someone like Arthur in his weaker armors. But he's not scratching people like Darkchild.
I dunno, I think the inconsistencies just line up with the foes he goes up against because he's usually pretty straight and consistent.
His base strength is like 25-30 tons but when shit gets down it multiplies crazily, and it's been consistant enough in shown feats and everything that it shouldn't really be considered PIS
@james_batson: That's more so like the hysterical strength concept where people achieve insane feats in real life because they need to, like Spider-Man holding up an entire building to save a bunch of people or picking up a part of a train to save his life. But once we enter the realm of people who shake building just from the shock waves of their punches, there is no argument for that. Because even if we take the feats that I have mentioned as consistent, they are him at his best. I'm just going to end my piece here.
I'm not saying that Spider-Man is like crazy high tier because he's not, I'm just saying he needs a lot more credit than most give him.
He's been shown to punch people through stories of buildings, cause shockwaves, he's redirected a thrown Mjolnir and yanked it out of Jane Fosters hand, he's thrown T-90s hard enough to bust other T-90s and the list goes on, it's pretty consistent for just being a "Hysterical strength" thing because sometimes he seems to do them pretty easily.
Anyways thanks for the debate! These are kinda fun...
