@teelara:

While it's not against the rules of having a romance in the Justice League Alliance, it is generally frowned upon if the other team members know about it. And eventually, Hal will likely find out Teelara has no time for romance. In which case, Hal will honor her wishes and be respectful.

Hal does do a sort of half smile, "My partner, Jessica, was geeking out over your sword. It uses anti-matter, right? I didn't understand over half of what she said, but she's very impressed with it."

Hal leads her into the holographic training room. He smiles, hoping to surprise her, "Computer, scan and analyze Teelara's sword and re-create it. Use the closest equivalent of anti-matter but with safeties on so neither of us will get hurt." The computer speaks:

Scanning...Process complete. Use when ready.

And a holographic sword appears by Teelara's feet, appearing very much like Teelara's physical one. "Computer, scan my data banks for Teelara's home planet and re-create an appropriate environment."

Then the room around them vanishes, replaced by a holographic representation of Ephemera. Every rock, the dirt, every true, the various smells, etc, are realistically done in all their glory, beauty and ugliness.

Hal's ring flashes with a bright green light, "Ready when you are, Teelara."

@blubber: @shield-maiden (OOC: I don't mind at all. Kon is an NPC, but an essential one. So long as you don't kill him, we're good. ^_^)

Superion gives a little chuckle when Grant whispers in his ear, saying all that. But he doesn't say anything. And then Grant dopes his thing while sitting in Superion's chair, even pretending to be him and forming his chest emblem. Superion especially took notice of Grant's powers at work for the second time. Sometime later, he's going to have to question Grant about that. But for now, the tour continues.

Kon LOVES Grant, but of course he does. He's a dog and he's man's best friend. And if Grant shares his popcorn with Kon, the dog gratefully snatches up every piece and eats it.

Eventually, though, Superion tries to grab Grant's attention because the tour must continue. Next, they visit the Promenade, a large area devoted for ceremonies as well as a place to assemble a large contingent of super-heroes and/or civilians in cases of extreme necessity. Thunderstorm explains what this area is for.

Next is the Monitor Womb, the very heart of the Watchtower. This stretches the entire center of the complex. All crisis points are detected through this circular chamber with multiple holographic displays. Zephyr describes what it is used for. Inside, monitoring the situations on Earth is Apex. Likely not the one Grant knows from the comics as she recently replaced the former Apex. If Grant says anything to her, she barely glances his way in order to acknowledge his presence. Unlike the rest of the heroes who inspire others with their appearance and personality, Apex is the opposite. She exudes an intimidating presence, striking fear in the cowardly criminal lot who encounter her. Superion whispers to Grant, "Sorry, she's not much of a people person. It's not you, she just happens to be like that."

Next up is the Trophy Room that holds various memorabilia from the League's past cases as well as sculptures, and tributes, to fallen heroes. One sculpture is the former Apex, who had died in the line of duty saving the lives of hundreds of civilians from a deadly radioactive explosive device that would have killed them, as well as Superion himself. The villain, Nemesis, had exposed Apex's secret identity as Theron King and shortly after that, Apex gave his life as a true hero would. Superion looks upon the sculpture of his friend with a deep sadness before looking away. Kon notices and whines a little, trying to lick his master's hand to give him some comfort and Superion smiles sadly, petting his dog.

Thunderstorm pipes up, "Please don't touch anything, some items in here are rather delicate."

Soon enough, the tour continues where the three heroes show Grant the Armory & Hanger. Superion gently, but firmly, advises against touching any of the equipment in the room. Their time in the armory is brief and Superion shows Grant the hanger where actual space ships can be seen just in case the League ever needs to go on a space mission.

Next up is Hydroponics where it houses a variety of alien flora, as well as ones from Earth. Superion explains this serves as the Watchtower's source of oxygen and, in some cases, some delicious food.

Next up is the Aquarium where water based lifeform's can use as their private quarters, which also serves as a home for marine life from other worlds who need a new home. And no, Superion will politely decline any question from Grant if he can swim in it as that is not what it's used for.

Next on the tour are the Power Core, Recreation Area, Holographic Training room (think Star Trek), Labs, medical lab, engineering workshops and containment cells.

Next up are some of the private quarters some the team members use. Not all of them are shown, but just a few. Each talored to suit every specific hero. Superion shows his room, Thunderstorm shows hers and Zephyr's own. Then Superion hears Helena in her room, thinking it might be a good thing to meet Grant. So, he presses a button and a chime rings to let Helena know she has visitors. Once he hears her voice to come in, Superion directs Grant to go first before letting Thunderstorm and Zephyr through before joining them.

"Grant, this is Helena Troy, also known as Shield-Maiden. Our newest member to the team, so you may not know her. But I'd like to have you meet her anyway." With a smile, he looks over at Helena, "This young man won a contest and we're giving him a tour of the place. Plus, a chance to meet his heroes."

@shield-maiden: @blubber: @superion_prime:

Mister Surreal was just getting settled into his living quarters as he placed a series of books and a few artifacts into his room, being sure to keep track of all of the things that he would be bringing onto the moon base. Since he didn't know what the place actually looked like inside, he needed to first arrive through the base's teleporter, something that he was actually quite intrigued by. While he was used to travelling vast distances at a moments notice, the transportation technology in the this base was a very different experience than what he was used to. But now that he had a clear picture of the location, he would no longer need to use the device since he now had a clear picture of this location from the inside. In fact, there was a portal in his room at the very moment that connected him to his sanctum, allowing the him to easily move everything that he needed into the base. Once his task was complete, he twirled his arm and closed the breach of space-time.

The magic user looked around his room feeling rather pleased with himself, it was almost as if he was standing in the sanctorum like he would any other day. The room had moderately light brown with In the room, while the floor wars dark green with a marble-like texture with a mat in the middle for meditation. There were several shelves laced with books on three corners of the room, a clothes rack next to the door, a long brown table that stretch across over half the length of on wall, one that had several mystical objects lying across it. Lastly, it had a window that allowed Matthew to have a clear view of the planet Earth, very much like the one that he had in his room that allowed him to look upon the beautiful scenery that Metro City had to offer. As he got settled in, her took the time to admire the the ray of light beaming into the otherwise dark room. He stopped admiring the light and took the time to light a few candles to help illuminate the room, while he did appreciate the modern invention of the light bulb, his partiality to ancient systems stretched to lighting.

As he crossed his legs and sat down onto the mat, he began to slowly levitate off of it as he closed his eyes and reflected on the events that had led to him ending up here in the first place. After the skirmish that had occurred between he, his fellow heroes and Ares the God of War, Mister Surreal was invited to join the Justice League Alliance. He was initially a bit hesitant to join the alliance, he had grown to prefer accomplish things on his own. In some ways it was out of arrogance, in other ways it was due to him seeing this as being as large waste of his time, but these feelings were really just hallow beliefs that were used to mask the way that he actually felt. in actuality, he felt that he would be somewhat of an outcast in the team based on not only is abnormal power but his reserved demeanor. But in time, he was able to accept his offer and soon afterwards join the team. He meditated for a few minutes, before hearing multiple people speaking in in the hallway outside of his room. He lowered himself to the floor, got up and poked his head outside.

Feel free to call my character into the hallway to interact.

Never before was there a happier sight than Blubber rolling on the floor with a puppy, especially when the dog was wearing a cape. But what seemed as an eternity they played together, with Blubber spouting baby talk and Kon barking back with excitement. Had they been alone Blubber would have stretched his arms out wider just to hug the puppy even more. Unfortunately for Superion, there was much more in the tour to see and little time to do it. Therefore, regretfully, he needed to regain Blubbers attention in accordance with the contest and lead him through the rest of the station. Somewhat saddened Blubber released the pup, only to leave the last of his uneatened popcorn with him, then eagerly ran to Superion’s side saying. “Ready and willing Superion, I’d follow you anywhere.” Then with hopeful eyes, “Even into battle with the forces of evil.” Finally he ends on his most proudest moment, “Cause I’m brave, just like you said!

As the tour continued on, at a normal pace, Blubber was completely thrilled. Not in the fact he was being escorted through one of the most secured buildings in the galaxy, but because he was there with his heroes. With every step it was harder for him to contain his joy, and at some points he giggled just to let the joy out. His only regret was he was unable to record his every moment, even though he would remember every bit of it, for the rest of his life. Especially in his dreams. Next he was lead to the Promenade deck, where once again he spoke up proudly on some of the televised moments that took place there, such as receiving prestigious awards and world wide peace talks. Next he was lead to the stations Monitor room, were Blubbers natural excitement was slightly stifled. At first glanced he was thrilled as he was able to see the Earth on the other side of a huge glass window, as well as the flickering holographic displays. But that was all cut short when Blubber noticed the dark foreboding presence of Apex on monitoring duty. Immediately Blubber took a position behind his idol, leering over his left shoulder. In a somewhat quiet tone he asked only Superion, “Who is she? She seems..........scary. Not like the rest of you!” But just as he felt uncomfortable in the ladies presence, Superion dispersed his doubts, as he answered back. "Sorry, she's not much of a people person. It's not you, she just happens to be like that."

No Caption Provided

Minutes later Blubber was lead to the Trophy Room, one of the rooms he desperately wanted to see, as he had already memorized every detail of it from off TV. However with every step he took to get there, he persistently asked Superion, “I didn’t hurt Apex’s feelings did I? She was just a little..” he pauses until he could find the right words, “...unlike you!” But now, back in the Trophy Room he was speechless. Instead he stood in awe over all the wonders, resting there in front of him, close enough to touch. For a few brief seconds he said nothing, just taking in all the wonders of past and present heroes including a sculpture of the now deceased, previous Apex. Moved by the moment Blubber turned to his idol only to comment on his remorse over the loss of such a great hero, only to see the great Superion with a saddened face. For the first time ever, Blubber saw his idol as more than just the Earth’s greatest champion, but as a fellow human being, with all the mixed up emotions he himself dealt with every day. Because of this he wanted to hug him even more just to let him know that he shared the same feelings, but instead Kon got to him first, and gently licked his master's hand, to give him some comfort he deeply needed. But instead of dealing with the strong emotions in the room, Thunderstorm felt it necessary to keep things going.

For the next few hours, they took Grant through the rest of the station, including the Armory & Hanger, the Hydroponics and Aquarium as well as the Power Core, Recreation Area and finally the Holographic Training room. When done there, Blubber was rushed to the Labs, medical lab and engineering workshops complete with containment cells. In each one Grant was either completely overwhelmed, or a anxious bundle of questions. But the main theme was he was enjoying himself more than a kid on Christmas morning. Occasionally the heroes had to remind him not to touch anything or bring him back to reality when he fantasized in the room, but through it all it seemed they cared for him as much as he cared for them. But oddly enough his favorite part of the whole tour was asking Superion and the other, “When the tour is finished, can I keep any of it as a souvenir??” Soon it seemed like the tour was coming to an end, as Blubber was now being escorted to the heroes private quarters. Although it was not as glamorous as the Trophy Room, it was still a window into their personal lives. As such he embraced it with his same level of lovable joy. But although each room was tailored to suit every specific hero, things did not pick up until Superion heard Helena fidgeting around in her private quarters.

No Caption Provided

With a touch of a button, a chime rings to let Helena know she has visitors, as the four of them stood patiently outside her door. As they open wide Superion directs Grant to go in first, followed closely by Thunderstorm, Zephyr and finally himself. But as Blubber was first he entered with a full view of Shield Maiden as well as all the personal effects spread out across her room. To him it looked like a tiny Library with thousands of books and scrolls laid scattered across the floor, some open, some closed. It was at this point Superion introduced her to Blubber ending with an informal, "This young man won a contest and we're giving him a tour of the place. Plus, a chance to meet his heroes." Suddenly Grant began to fluster as his eyes locked upon the voluptuous woman with breathtaking features, dressed in but a small tunic. Immediately he covered his eyes shouting, “Don’t look, she’s not dressedyet!” but as it was explained to him, why that was what she wore, he was eventually able to look upon her again with a bright red blushing face, muttering only, “um, sorry!?!” Still feeling somewhat awkward, he wanted to loosen the tension in the room and with his boyish charm proudly proclaimed “Hi, my name is Grant,GrantFrump,” he says as he waves his hand side to side, “But everybody calls me Blubber.” It was at this point he looks back to his idol Superion for advice, as he had no idea whether to bow or curtsy in her presence, only to get a good glimpse of Thunderstorm standing next to him. Without thinking about it, he proudly boast to her, “She...” meaning Helena, “Reminds me of you! Are you two related?” Unfortunately his naiveté did not stop there, and without realizing what he was saying, he once again asked the same question most fans would ask in his position, “So, If you two had to fight, who would win??

Teelara shrugged at the inquiry. "My sword was crafted aeons ago by an art long lost to my people, assuming that it was ever ours to begin with. I have begun to think that perhaps it might have come from another world, when Ephermerans had no inkling that other worlds existed. But yes, it is what most refer to as 'anti-matter.' Or so I am told." Ephermeran scientific understanding, though it had been forced to advance by leaps and bounds since the invasion, was still very much a limited understanding. Teelara herself did not fully grasp the difference between science and magic, and even somewhat suspected that they were simply two names for the same thing.

All suspicions aside, however, even she was impressed when both her sword and home planet were replicated. She hefted the replica blade, giving it a few swings to test the balance. "Are you certain? You've given me an awful lot of advantages, here." She slowly dropped into a ready stance, blade extended with a two-handed grasp at her right hip.

Taking a glance behind her shoulder to look at her new body armor; Helena found herself wondering why her mother would bestow her with such a gift. Surely, her mother knew she already had all the equipment she needed for her upcoming journey. Not only that, but the armor she wore during the events of Ares was crafted by a pack of dwarves, she met during her trip to Scandinavia. The armor itself was in good condition, probably because dwarves were resourceful and master craftsmen. She smiled as she glanced over to one side of the room. There it was, her old armor on a mannequin. The pieces of metal produced a faint silver aura as if it was touched by the moon goddess, Artemis, herself. She had been through Hades with that armor. She remembered coming across the stubborn dwarves who charged her nothing for the equipment even when she insisted on paying them with a substantial amount of drachma. Till this day, she never understood why they gave her the expensive armor for free, especially when she saw them charging someone else for it.

"I will see you maggots again." She vowed to herself as she shook her head with a chuckle. She meant maggots literally as dwarves were said to have evolved from actual maggots, at least that's what one dwarf told her. For some reason, she felt drawn to the dwarves as if they were her "siblings." Helena took one last glance back at the body armor her mother gifted her with and waved it off as if she was not interested. That armor was not replacing her old armor. After contemplating for about a minute, she reached for the nearest scroll near her, hoping to find something that would shed some light on her situation, but not before hearing a buzz sound go off in her room. Jumping over a half-stacked pile of books and almost stumbling over a few, she finally reached the doorway, and let out a sigh as she really did not want to be disturbed. Opening up the door, Helena found herself staring in astonishment. Standing right before her unique blue eyes, stood a man with a stomach about the size of the fattest cyclops she had ever encountered. "By the Gods....." She murmured to herself. The demigod didn't want to come off as rude, but she was just generally shocked to see a man so bloated as if he swallowed a Titan. How could this man possibly be alive with so much body mass? His body was beyond obesity, his heart should have given up at this stage. How did his knees not buckle? These questions raced in her mind as if she was trying to solve one of the Sphinx's riddles. Shaking her head in total awe, Helena looked to Superion who stood next to the pudgy stranger.

"Grant, this is Helena Troy, also known as Shield-Maiden. Our newest member to the team, so you may not know her. But I'd like to have you meet her anyway."

"This young man won a contest and we're giving him a tour of the place. Plus, a chance to meet his heroes."

Helena wanted to protest, but she decided not to ruin the expectations of the contest winner. The name suited her really well and she wanted to accept it, but deep down she could not. She was no hero and did not plan to be one. All she wanted was to stop this looming prophecy, find the truth about her life, and return to Atholis to be among her people again. Not only that, but she never said she would be apart of this team. Truthfully, she was only here because her mother told her these heroes will journey with her to Delphi, but once that was over, she planned to return to Atholis in preparation for the prophecy. After finishing his tour, Helena vowed to tell Superion the truth and inform him about her concern with allowing strangers into the team's base of operations, only because she cared for their well-being.

Don’t look, she’s not dressed yet!

The former princess returned her attention back toward the bloated stranger with a quirked eyebrow. Something about this man was different. He acted and talked as if he was a child trapped in a man's body. Wanting to observe more, Helena decided to play along, despite her concern.

Um, sorry!?!

Hi, my name is Grant, Grant Frump,

But everybody calls me Blubber.

"It is a pleasure to meet you, Grant Frump," She smiled. "I pray your heart is content as you continue your exploration." She glared at Superion as she said that word, clearly giving him a signal that something was bothering her.

She...

Reminds me of you! Are you two related?

So, If you two had to fight, who would win??

The question caught the demigod off guard. She glanced toward Thunderstorm and then back at the blob sized panda. "For the sake of the world, let us pray we never discover that truth."

Guys, my apologies for the lack of details toward the end. Apparently, I have to take a day off from work today to run some important errands that will pretty much consume my whole day. Now, a day from work sounds amazing, but not if your outside for most of the day. Since, I won't be able to work on post today, I decided it was best to rush the end as quickly as possible because I didn't want to hold you guys up another day. Anyway, I promise my next response will be ten times better. Superion smiles at Grant, patiently answer most of his questions but sometimes his friends chime in if they know better than he does. He keeps reassuring Grant that Apex's feelings are not hurt. "Well, I'll let you have one souvenir, but not of everything I'm afraid. But trust me, you'll like the souvenir I have planned for you."He smiles knowingly, not revealing what Grant is going to be gifted with just yet.

Superion does catch Helena's subtle glare, as if something is bothering her. He misses the telepathic link, wishing he could communicate with her that he will have a talk with her later...in private. For sure. As team leader, he needs to be aware of everyone's concerns because everyone has a voice.

When Grant asks his question on weather or not Thunderstorm and Helena are related and who would win in a fight, Thunderstorm looks over at Helena then to Grant, smiling, "No, we're not related. As to who would win in a fight, I agree with Helena. I hope none of us have to find out."

Thunderstorm keeps it to herself on who would win for she does have an opinion on it, but she keeps that herself.

Kon greedily eats the last of the popcorn that Blubber gives him and catches up with the group as soon as he finishes. When he does, he runs right up to Helena and tries to give her a few licks on her hand, almost as if he senses her anxiety and just wants to give her some comfort as only a dog can. But then, all of a sudden, Kon starts growling. A few seconds later, the JLA HQ begins to shake.

Superion's head snaps around so quickly, it's a blur of motion. Sound doesn't travel through space, so he doesn't hear Darkchild's hello, but he does search everywhere, the moon, space, etc, until he sees a figure floating in space. With a subtle glare of his own, his instincts tell him this...man is simply letting them know he's there. Perhaps even saying...hello. Then he reassures everyone, "Not to worry everyone, just someone testing our...defenses by saying 'hi'. Nothing to worry."

For now...at least. But Superion as a feeling he's going to be meeting that man later down the road and it's going to be none too kind. With that, Superion looks over at Grant, "Time to go." And he then looks at Helena, "I'm sorry for interrupting you, I'll be more thoughtful next time. We'll talk later, okay?"

Then he glances at Grant as he tries to lead him back to the transporter room. Before Grant leaves, however, Superion gives Grant back his camera, then a picture of the entire team just as Grant wanted with their autographs on the back of the picture. Then Superion takes off his cape and folds it up, offering it to Grant with a smile, "Here's your souvenir."

Instead he looked shyly upon the floor as he remarked, “Well your armor fits you well,” and trying to be polite, “and it doesn't make you look fat or anything!” Even as two of the most powerful women in the world were avoiding the question of who would win in a fight, Blubber still kept his head low. Lucky for him, Superion could tell that he was flustered with mixed emotion, and because of that he quickly changed the subject. By enticing him with a unknown surprise souvenir, Blubber’s cheery disposition perked up again. As such he began bombarding his idol with questions, such as, “Ooh, ooh ooh, is it an official JLA communication devise, or maybe even one of those thingies you got from an alternate universe, like on episode five of seasons three of the JLA cartoon.” he looks around in joy, “you know, on the episode called Danger in form of the Doppelgängers on Earth D???” In the end he overcame his shyness as he stood among the legends as one of them, smiling as only he does.

Suddenly the station shook, as a red light flashed around them, while a low alarming sound bounced off every wall. Immediately, every hero jumped into action, with Superion leading the way. Surprisingly though Blubber did the same thing. Instead of being overwhelmed with fear in such a chaotic situation, he stood strong, ready to face the unknown as only a hero would. Wasting no time he ran to the nearest window, knocking over several of Helena's pride possessions with his enormous girth, much like the proverbial bull in a china shop. But at the moment he reached the window, he stared out to the unknown with his hand and face firmly pushed against the glass. Unfortunately, whatever it was that shook the station, was out of his sight, leaving him ready to ask the question, “What was that?” then as always his imagination kicked in as he spouted off answers, “Was it an invading alien army? Or maybe a giant planet devouring monster?” But sadly his fantasies were crushed as his idol replied back, "Not to worry everyone, just someone testing our...defenses by saying 'hi'. Nothing to worry."

Still smiling, he choose to believe it was a giant planet devouring monster, as he imagined his hero thwarting it, only to have his dreams crushed, when Superion told him it was, "Time to go." For no matter how Grant looked at it, his tour had finally come to an end. Regretfully he walked with his idol back to the transporter room, much less cheerier than when he boarded. If he had a heart, somewhere beneath his overtly girth, it would clearly be broken. Instead he walked forward like a condemned man walking to the electric chair. Still he tried to hide his sadness with an occasional, “This has been the greatest day of my life Superion, and I will always remember it! THANK YOU!” Holding back the tears he takes his final place on the transporter, watching and waiting until the devise is activated, and was just about to say his final goodbyes, when his idol presented him with his well earned souvenir. In a sign of love as well as respect, Superion removed his trademark red cape from off his shoulders, folds it up only as he could, and hands it over with the three words Blubber would never forget, "Here's your souvenir."

In Grant’s life there has been several moments that made him immensely happy. The day he got his first pet rabbit, the day he got a job at the local comic book shop ‘The Joker’s Lair , and even the day he learned he had super powers or won the ‘Captain Crunchy Kiddy Cereal’ contest. But this day, at this moment was by far the greatest day of his life. He was so overwhelmed with mixed emotions he did not know what to do. Instead he stood there with his puppy dog eyes crying up a storm as his lips quivered. He tried desperately to say the words, “Thank you!” but all that came out were incoherent sobs of joy. With great pride he held the cape close to his heart, hugging it for all its worth, in a display of happy emotions, that could warm the coldest heart. It was with this built up pride, and only that, he was able to face the fact, it was time to go. In a firm voice, resonating with confidence, he looked to Superion and said, “When ever you’re ready!?!” then closed his eyes for the final goodbye.

The next thing heard were the humming of advanced machinery, as Blubber could feel his body beginning to tingle. In his heart of hearts, he wanted to shout, “NO! I want to stay! I want to be a hero like the rest of you! I know the big wigs in charge of the contest told me never to show my powers, for they felt the people of Earth would notconnect with, and maybe even fear, the idea of a special type of guy like me with super powers!” It was much like the stigma he grew up with most his life, in the fact any man with down syndrome could not be a hero. Again he wanted to shout, “I’m very strong and durable,with the ability to bend and stretch my body in different ways.” But the one point he wanted his idol to know was, “And I have the heart of a hero even though I may not have the brains!” Suddenly the room was filled with the sounds of power cells shutting down mixed with the screeching of metal on metal. Apparently when the station was shook by an outside presence, there was some slight damage done to the teleporter devise, and as such, Blubber was going nowhere. Instead he slowly opened his eyes, some what afraid of what he may see, but upon seeing his idol still awaiting at the controls, he had to asks, “Did I do something wrong?

The sheer size of this place unsettles me, and the fact that it's on the Moon only makes it all the more impressive. The weighlessness gets old fast, but that's why they have artificial grav.

My heels click against the empty hallways as I wander errantly, easily through the facility. The rooms are spacious, well equipped. The food is expertly prepared, delicious. The gym is... well amazing. There is nothing I cannot do here.

But there's something off about all this. We sit in a jeweled tower, literally looking down upon the world. We are its protectors, appointed by no one but ourselves. We are driven by no rules but those we choose to follow. I suppose that is why I am here. To keep us all honest. To ensure that good men do not become tyrants, as they have so often throughout history.

But I have to be honest to myself. I need this as much as the world does. This is my last chance to be the man I need to be. To help those I need to help. To find answers in something other than the bottom of a bottle. That is why I'm here. For my own, selfish reasons. To set right something in my soul that was broken so long ago that I can't even remember the last time I was whole. To piece myself together. To do something right. Live up to my name.

The station shakes once, a tremor not unlike the earthquakes that shook my former home, but again something is awry. There are no active tectonic plates here, only a lone object, drifting by. Then came the horrific, croaking growl. "Hello" it said, clear as day, vibrating all throughout the bubbled dome. That's how I know it's not time to ruminate on the nature of what we're doing, how I know I no longer have time to wander or to wonder. That's how I know it's time to meet the rest of the team.

I practically fly down the hallways, sprinting all the way back to the briefing room. There's something going on, and whatever it is, I want to be ready for it.

Besides, I still have yet to meet the rest of the team.

@green_sentinelx:

Clever.

It was a strategy often employed by mages: create a duplicate of their attacker, in the hopes that the psychological impact of fighting themselves would dull their edge. After all, who can enthusiastically drive a sword through their own heart? Existential considerations aside, however, this was something she was prepared for. Ephemerans warriors were renowned for their ability to resist magic and battle mages, so their training encompassed mental preparation for encounters that might otherwise cause one pause.

She parried the slash that was aimed at her by "her," and admired the skill with which it was executed. Clearly Hal had noted her fighting style, and was able to replicate it quite effectively. As part of the Guardian bloodline of Ephemera, however, she had talents beyond simple swordplay; each Guardian was selected due to the presence of psychic abilities. While she doubted that telepathic trickery would be effective against a construct, in her experience they were still bound by the laws of physics, so she reached out with her telekinesis and attempted to pull her double's feet out from under her. If successful, she would follow-up with a downward thrust of her own simulated blade.

@arceus_aurelius-rex:

Apex takes him to the rather impressive armory and presents to him the various kinds of weapons here. Plenty are lethal, obviously, and have been dismantled, deactivated and then reassembled. Others are non-lethal and those weapons she shows Arceus, "Here." She offers him a JLA Communicator, "Each member gets one of these."

@teelara:

Hal is not surprised she met the attack and made her quick, and very precise, counter. He knows she's good, so he is testing her to see just how good she happens to be. Teelara's telekinetic trick would work and the construct's feet falls out from under her and gets impaled by the blade. Shortly afterwards, it disappears into a puff of green smoke.

But Hal isn't finished yet because now he tests how good Teelara can be when countering a blind sided attack. A construct of the monster called 'Predator' from the horror franchise tries to hit her from behind with a mighty punch before bellowing with unholy glee.

As Mister Surreal subtlety poked his head into the hallway, just outside of Shield-Maiden's quarters, he immediately took notice of the rather large person who was standing next to Superion. While his appearance did catch the mage somewhat off guard, Mister Surreal wouldn't hold this strangers surprising appearance against them, he would treat them with the same amount of respect that he would any other person. Though, he did wonder who this stranger was and why he was inside of the JLS headquarters. It was only when he heard Superion say something to Shield-Maiden about person next to him being the winner of some sort of contest that he understood what was going on. This man must have won the contest and earned a tour around the JLA moon base, an idea that he found to be quite interesting when he first heard of it. But with that interest came another feeling: skepticism.

He wasn't sure if inviting a complete stranger onto one of the most powerful and well equipped facilities in the galaxy was a good idea. For all they knew, this man was actually a villain who wanted to eliminate a group of superheroes in one sitting, finding that entering their home base was one of their best chances of accomplishing such a task. Or perhaps they intended to use the massive weaponry to hold the world hostage using the various weapons that yeh base had to offer. These were all possibilities that Mister Surreal had enter his mind when he first thought of this entire concept and while it wasn't text extremely likely, it was something that was a legitimate concern of his. But to be fair, the JLA wallowing a complete stranger to enter their moon base wasn't very different than the numerous people walking around Mister Surreal's home on any given day. Though they ramifications were slightly different, they main parallels were all there.

He would give this stranger a chance to prove themself a decent person who simply wanted to meet their favorite heroes on the tour of a life time. While he continued watching them the interaction go on, he felt an enormous tremor shake the entire base, nearly knocking him off of his feet. Several books, artifacts and scrolls on his shelves fell off their positions and onto the floor, resulting in them either falling apart or unraveling. Alerts in the form of sirens and lights sounded in warning of whatever had affected them. Mister Surreal wasn't sure what was going on, so he used his eye of oversight to look over the entire base in an attempt to find this large physical disturbance. As he closed his eyes, they reopened moments after with them almost being in some sort of trance, when in actuality he was searching vigorously for the cause of such an abrupt wave of impact. After a few seconds of searching, Mister Surreal found what he believed to be the cause, none of than an unwanted visitor.

Mister Surreal couldn't get a very clear image of what this being was, but he could tell that it was certainly not someone that one would want to threaten a facility such as this one. He considered getting a closer look at this perceived threat by going outside of the moon base and meeting it face to face, but he realized that it was probably better if he went to go find the other members of the team so that they could form a proper way of dealing with this situation. As he broke out his projected vision and looked back into the hallway, he noticed Superion and the man he was with were no longer in their original position. He calls his cloak onto himself and is promptly met with the feeling of warm cloth covering the back of his robe. Then afterwards, the sorcerer flew down the hallway in search of Superion and the person next to him, only to find them in the transporter room. "Superion, I believe that an attack his been made on the base, watch should we do.", Mister Surreal said before glancing at Blubber.

(OOC: Sorry about interrupting the conversation between Superion and Blubber, I am fine with editing if you would like that. I'm also fine with Kon interacting with me in anyway that you please.)

@superion_prime@mister_surreal

Grant felt awkward just in asking his question “Did I do something wrong?” for in his heart he didn’t want to know. All that mattered to him was, he was still on the station, and he was still next to his idol. Unfortunately, he could tell something was in fact wrong, as his hero appeared deep in thought, and one of the larger machines in the room was spouting smoke. At the same time the stations alarm system was in effect, blaring out a recurring sound as red lights flashed in every room. But despite all signs of danger, Grant kept a calm demeanor, or maybe just a less joyish one, as he stepped off the transporter devise as if he belonged there. But before he could say a word, the rooms doors activated, opening up to reveal a man of class and sophistication, entering the room with a cape that literally moved about him with a mind of its own. Quickly grabbing Superion’s attention, the stranger asks, “I believe that an attack his been made on the base, what should we do?" before turning toward Blubber with questioning eyes!

It was at this point Blubber saw his one and only chance to be a full fledged hero, and no longer be that guy looked upon as “special!” With full confidence in his voice he addressed the room, but with his eyes locked on his idol at all times, “I can...”he pauses as he regains his nerve,”...Help!” Hoping that the others would have the time to listen to him despite the fact that the station may be under attack, he goes on. “I know now may not be the best time to bring it up, but, I have super powers!” Feeling empowered just saying those words he continues, “I’m very very strong and durable, although not as strong as you. Because everybody knows you are the strong.....” Realizing that he started to ramble on, he gets back to the point, stressing how important this is to him. “Perhaps I should just show you!

Immediately, he looks to the piece of equipment still smoking in the corner, and with a great smile on his face, comment's, “Just watch this!” With a raising of his arm, he reaches out for it, only to have his arm begin to stretch. Keeping both its same size and mass, it continued to stretch out half way across the room until he gripped the massive machine in his hand. Then with the greatest of ease he lifts it off the ground, while smiling one of his trademark boyish grins. Not finished yet he boasts, “and this!” as his hand begins morphing until his palm and fingers are immensely larger, to the point they smothered out any lingering fire inside, then carefully places it back on the ground, as gently as one would do with a baby. But as he pulled back his hand and arm to their normal size and shape, he could only pray that his hero would give him a chance. The one chance he’d dreamed of all his life!

But just in case, just to edge his bets, he stares at Superion with his most sincere look as he lays it all out!, “I don’t expect you to let me help you fight off whatever is outside, but at least let me do something, Anything? I promise I won’t let you down!” He then reshuffles his weight around him as he approaches his idol, and with full confidence says, “But if there is danger out there, you’re gonna need this!” Moving in as if in slow motion he holds out Superion’s cape still folded up so elegantly, and with both hands offers it forward, “Now go be the hero I know you are!" Then somewhat childlike he looks back to the other hero in the room, the one he does not recognize and says, “Oh and you too.....whoever you are!?!?” He then smiles as he always does, hoping for his one chance!

(OOC - I hope I didn't post out of turn, but I really wanted to get this post in before Superion's, just so that I could join in rather than do nothing)

Well your armor fits you well,

and it doesn't make you look fat or anything!

In normal circumstances, Helena would of taken offense to a statement like that, but instead, she found herself not reacting to the naive man. If she was being truthful with herself, she felt like a jerk. Of course, she did not regret her concern for safety protocols; she still believed Superion was being careless, despite his good intentions. But truthfully, she knew deep down she was treating this guest harshly, which was wrong because this man could generally be a good individual. Noticing Grant was uncomfortable with her, Helena vowed to apologize and explain herself before he departed later. She might not have agreed with Superion's call to allow a stranger into her temporary base of operations, but she believed in giving the guest the benefit of the doubt until she talked with Lucas later to give wise counsel. Grant seemingly had the nature of a child and she was able to discern it through his sentences, body language, naive nature, and other symptoms, but that did not stop her from keeping a close eye on him or thinking he was potentially deceiving them.

"No, we're not related. As to who would win in a fight, I agree with Helena. I hope none of us have to find out."

Helena titled her head slightly and narrowed her eyes. Deep in thought, she did catch herself wondering who would win in a sparring match or an all out confrontation. Assessing the facts in her mind, she came to the conclusion that Thunderstorm would win the fight at this current stage. The reason for believing this truth, lied with one simple fact; she just recently learned, she was a demigod. Helena spent most of her childhood, being told she was an ordinary child blessed by the Gods, which meant her capabilities were suppressed, and now just awakening from their slumber due to the discovery.

Feeling a rough muscular texture brush against her fingertips, Helena looked downwards to find a white canine dog moistening her fingers with saliva. She smiled. Such a marvelous creature. A dog was a healer of wounds in times of great distress, a fearsome guardian to those it cherished, an emotion detector to those who hid their grief, and an unwavering loyal companion to those who needed loyalty in a world filled with betrayal and deceit. It was no wonder Artemis and Ares chose the dog as their sacred animal. Despite being Titans, Helena found herself thanking Prometheus and Epimetheus for bestowing humankind with animals, particularly eagles, dogs, and horses. Not only were these creatures loyal and magnificent, they were trainable and useful too. "I am well, boy." She ran her fingers through it's white coat of hair. She knew the dog picked up the distress consuming her life, but not wanting the others to carry her burden, she spoke to the canine loud enough for everyone in the room to hear.

As Helena playfully rough housed with the white canine and Superion, Thunderstorm, and Grant chatted away, a tremor suddenly shook the foundation of the floating headquarters, catching the heroes by surprise and almost knocking her off her guard. Kon began to bark as sirens blared and red lights flashed, consuming the whole base of operations. The tremor was so intense, it felt as if Atlas could not bare the weight of the sky anymore. One by one, each hero reacted to the sudden attack-Superion left the room in a blur, Thunderstorm followed closely behind, and Blubber gleefully attempted to squeeze through her room. His body was like a car inflammable emergency air bag, knocking down every precious item she had from Atholis, her home.

Reacting solely on instinct, Helena moved swiftly, possibly impressing Hermes himself if he was watching. Moving with grace and efficient movement, she caught every item that rained down in slow motion. Recovering from the situation and placing every item back in seconds, Helena gazed toward the doorway and found Grant was gone. Her eyes were still widened from fear with slanted eyebrows upwards. "Superion will know Háidēs once I am through with him." She said jokingly exaggerated before grabbing her sword, which was modeled off the Ancient Greek, Xiphos sword. Jogging from her room, Helena found herself wondering what could of attacked the headquarters-A meteoroid? Unlikely, she thought. Joining the other heroes, she reached the nearest window to find herself gazing at an unknown floating being clad in armor. "By the Gods......." She murmured to herself. What was he? Another relative of hers following the Will of Zeus? Impossible. She never heard any tale of the Olympians operating in outer space, but she wouldn't be surprised if he was an Olympian attempting to finish what Ares could not.

"Not to worry everyone, just someone testing our...defenses by saying 'hi'. Nothing to worry."

Helena snapped her head in the direction of Lucas, surprised by his statement. Was Superion mad? A being just attacked their base with might and he waved it off as if he was nothing more than an annoying fly. Lucas was no fool, but she tried to explain any logical reason for his dismissal of the situation that just unfolded before them.

"Time to go."

"I'm sorry for interrupting you, I'll be more thoughtful next time. We'll talk later, okay?"

"Your company is not unwelcome, Superion, you must know that truth. I just...We shall discuss things later." She reassured him with a slight nod. Helena did not wish to confront him in front of the team out of respect, but she looked forward to giving him, her constructive counsel and grievance. Turning her attention to the glass window, she gazed deeply into the being, gripping the hilt of her sword and gathering as much knowledge as she could perceive.

Not my best post, but not bad either.

As the first construct vanishes, she is back on her feet, blade raised in a defensive stance. Not not what form the next attack would take, she remained alert. Even so, it was only the sensation of the energy shifting and coalescing behind her that gave her a chance to throw up a thin telekinetic barrier. While it succeeded in absorbing much of the blow's impact, the sheer muscle mass of this construct still caused her to be pushed forward, so she fell into a roll and came out of it facing the new threat, half crouched, with her weapon held at shoulder level.

Flashing Hal a quick grin, she lifted one hand and beckoned the creature forward, taunting it to attack again.
