Daedalus tapped his fingers on the countertop as he reached over to the field containing the gauntlets and moved his hand over them, deactivating their stasis and moving them into position in front of the encarmine-masked man.
"Pulse technology works by ignoring shields and armor completely, bypassing them on a submolecular level rather than trying to muscle through it particle for particle. The energy itself creates enough tears in the barrier to allow for physical elements to puncture through. From what I understand, magic users require concentration to actually accomplish much of what their goals deem necessary. Although I cannot replicate their skills, I can allow you to test what a pulse gauntlet such as that is capable of against something armed with one of my most powerful graviton shields,"
Extending an arm to a thick door behind the counter, he ran his thin metallic fingertips on a keypad so blazingly fast as to indicate he had even more digits than humanly normal. The door clicked and enormous hydraulic locks wheeled out of the way for it to actually open.
"There," he gestured towards the testing range, and to one target inparticular.
"Ballistics gelatin and other materials made to simulate skin, tissue, and bone. Even some fake blood for entertainment value. I've sold more weapons based on these tests than I initially realized, but this puts its point across,"
He once more adjusted something under his thick robes, assumedly a control panel of sorts hidden amongst his secretive form, and a graviton shield hummed over the specified dummy.
"Graviton shields are the closest to what I can imagine something like a psychic field could be, due to its malleability and sheer density. Go on, activate the gauntlet. Once you give it enough pressure in your fist it will start to glow. Once that happens - strike the shield with about as much effort as a normal punch for you."
Daedalus' glass eyes whirred inside his robed face, observing for posterity what would happen. He already knew, however, and expected the Scarlet Hood to be pleasantly surprised. What would become of the dummy would be little more than a red stain on the opposite wall.
