Hope was a funny thing, it had a way of leading to great disappointment...sometimes though, sometimes hope came through. "It's time." Raeyn said quietly once they were off of the World Breaker. The huge ship detonated in a cataclysmic explosion thanks to their plan. The only unfortunate side effect of the plan was the ship did not crash into the planet and wipe it out as they had hoped, instead it broke up above the atmosphere. The ship twisted on its axis as it fell toward the planet, the final secondary explosions caused by the nuclear detonation tore through its interior, gutting critical internal structure and vaporizing crew. With one last shudder the vessel exploded amid ships, a vast wave of devastation tore through the entire vessel, reducing it to a cloud of debris.

All that was left to do now was finish off the fleet and the forces attacking Earth. There was no grand display of power or flourish of movement...she simply slammed the door on her trap shut. The light of life left her eyes in the moment she did as her body finally gave out entirely. The Talmut fleet and its invasion force began to disappear one person and ship at a time. The process took hold slowly at first with only one or two individuals and ships vanishing but it accelerated rapidly. The entire event took perhaps thirty seconds, leaving the people and ships fighting against the Talmut suddenly without an enemy to deal with. Raeyn would have cast the whole race into the trap if she had the energy, instead she settled for the two fleets and the invading ground force attacking Earth. To everyone that witnessed the event the Talmut and their ships simply vanished but the individuals that vanished; they met a fate far worse than death.

In truth, Time Siphon had considered that some of them might not be all bad but in war there was no time for such considerations. Raeyn wanted to do good, she wanted to help defend Earth and make up for the horrors she had committed during her life...but she was not a nice person and those who were her enemies were rarely spared. The great effort that had expended her current body's life force had constructed a vast temporal prison. Now that she activated it everything pulled into the prison was locked away into the same never ending hell. The Talmut victims of the Time Siphon were cast into a never ending void where they were constantly subjected to their greatest fears and repeating images of all the lives they had taken and all the heart break they had caused in their wars of conquest. Rather than life times of victories they were given lifetimes of defeats and sadness, all the pain they had caused was revisited upon them and it would continue, pouring into their minds for the rest of time...

The punishment Raeyn had chosen was symbolic, it was what she believed should happen to her. Maybe this will be the end, maybe I won't wake up. Her thoughts were weak as her body died. Her brain remained active for several long seconds after the body itself had died.

At least then you won't have to face yourself.

You can redeem yourself, I just know you can!

You're a fool! Casting away our life for strangers!

Raeyn's body slumped in her fellow hero's arms as the last of its life energy vanished with the final closing of the trap. Her breaths ceased and the temporal armor's glowing chest piece deactivated. The escape craft carrying the STRIKE boarding team flew away from empty space, leaving behind a void where once a mighty fleet had been gathered. The ship would have a bit of a long journey back, but at least everyone had made it out alive...everyone except Raeyn anyway.

There was a distortion, an electromagnetic interference. Burn's ship, manifested before the two small crafts, large in size in comparison. It opened and tendrils literally stuck out of the shapeshifting ship, pulling the two craft within.

"Hardly any need to worry. I am unsure if any of you recall me."

What he had seen is something he hardly could have comprehended as one of their worldbreaker ships literally detonated, wiping out a large portion of the fleet. Being quite the distance away, enabling him to raise the ship's shielding and withstand the attack. And then after, him detecting some anomaly in the fabric of space time. He was hardly inclined to see what had caused it, for he knew only one had declared themselves to have that kind of power. There was a corpse on the ship, and hardly much more needed to be said. They had suffered a casualty. But, they had to keep going. They had to be returned safetly, and Burns would see to it that they would do just that. He turned his ship around, and then engaged the ship's hyperdrive as he was flung forward at FTL speeds, with coordinates set to earth.

Outside the planet's atmsophere, he halts as he flies downward returning home, to see it under attack. He witnesses another bright light in the earth's atmosphere as they attack London, a nuclear explosion of some kind launched from earth, by who he had gathered were Maverick forces. A majority of the conflict took place in London, and so that is where he would deploy the group, as he descended towards the earth.

After some time, the very large ship of a few thousand feet appeared in the air as the pod door bay doors opened over the city. Leaving the team free to jump or take off in the Jet.

Burns himself descended through a hole inthe control room, falling into the city, directly near the director, the woman and the soldier who accompanied them. A large crater forming in the ground below as he looks about with wary eyes. "Quite the mess we have here...." His arc blade, mounted on his arms, unsheath as he prepares himself to attack near by enemies.

"We need a plan, and quickly. Someone needs to delay him...I believe what he needs has to do with the tower. Son of "Thee Champion." He says to Leonel. "I believe it should be you. I am unsure of if I can fight such a thing. I will turn my attention elsewhere..." He turns towards the clock tower, detecting...something from it. He wasn't quite sure yet, but he could see the full electromagnetic spectrum, and that, was something of note. Burns then crouched and abruptly left the ground in a single bound, jumping to the clock tower so as to find out what resides within....

While Sosuke, the Kenjutsu King, focused his attention on leading civilians who ran aimless, away from danger, London was shaken to its core. Battles against invading extraterrestrial forces spilled at the city's every corner, light flared across a sky that was once blue yet now found in its shade of azure a thick cloud of smoke, one that hung in the air with no intention of dissipation. Explosions rippled through the air here and there, and people ducked and sought cover as they had been taught to during these times of crisis. They cowered under what was nearest, shutting their eyelids and bringing their palms together in prayer, pleading for their chosen form of higher power to make better this day of terror.

Fire raged and burned, leaving behind pockets of space deprived of oxygen as the scent of burnt ozone strengthened. In schools, children hid beneath desks and chairs, pedestrians under cars and inside buildings, and working men and women behind the desks of office buildings. Those who found no cover? They ran and were soon scorched. This was not an atrocity to be outrun, or even outfought it seemed. For every advantage the gathered heroes held, their opposition held two. Then as Leonel and his sister, Maya, did their best to lend their assistance to the S.T.R.I.K.E.'s carrier in battle, the New God's senses flared and cried, alerting him to the exponential surge of energy nearby. The source? A tower. Big Ben.

Leonel groaned, and his fists clenched in frustration. "What now?", he cried, directing his attention to the Talmut emperor confronted by two golden goddesses in the clock tower's space. "Fck it", the New God remarked, and in a brilliant beam of photons, massless particles, directed towards the sky, emptied his personal quantum dimensional state of its stored energy. Among his many abilities, Leonel's greatest was his capacity to absorb and store enormous quantities of energy, here, he would prove instrumental, though not prior to meeting Burns' suggestion with a nod in earnest. He took off, accelerating towards the building, his reserves emptied and fresh, eager to absorb as much energy as possible.

The New God's plan was simple. To do as Burns recommended, delay the Talmut emperor by absorbing a portion, as significant an amount as he could, of the energy he was now generating. Enough to distract him, disarm him, render him vulnerable for any of his surrounding teammates, or even the golden goddesses themselves to deal the final blow.

So it came to pass that Raeyn executed her plan after all in all it's unholy glory. In an instant countless alien soldiers were plucked from this reality plunged elsewhere in a time loop of indefinite time and end. A tragedy as far as Vocal was concerned. When playing chess the objective is the king you need not eradicate every pawn knight and so on to do so. Some foes call for more casualties then others but the cost of this war was to high. Not every Talmut was a monster odds were most of them simply wanted to follow orders. End of thousands if not millions was what was charged to defend earth.

Cadence would fight for her home world she'd take lives if she needed but this was to far. And the collateral had more to come. Stripped of crew and pilots the innumerable forces in play were robbed of direction and maintenance. These ships had all come back only recently from an engagement. There was trajectories firing strategies and more all mid step. It wasn't a stretch to say there was bound to be acidental gunfire and collisions. Which made debris which would obstruct orbit of the home world and perhaps even cause wreckage to fall to the soil in blazing destruction. The A.I could only go so far, tha was assuming this race used A.I. Regaurdless the destruction was a guaranteed high and lacking any honor. Something of which the Heir of the Inhuman empire could not stand for. She was skeptical of the Siphon now Cadence was hateful and untrusting. But that dragon had to rest inside her, there was still the king on the board. She sat aboard the craft redressing her wounds and resting within meditation awaiting the third rock to once come into view.

Not long and there it was the void of space attempting to be filled by destruction. Brief stars were born in the temporary bursts of alien and human craft. There was no sound to it, robbing some of the horror of war. It was almost beautiful how ships shattered a sharp contrast to living creatures. The acoustic assassin saw the ruin though as the bodies, she had to. She wanted to be a empress in the future she couldn't see the explosions as fireworks but body less graves the symphony of war had to be her nightmare. So that she could confront it at it's worst when she had to lead. Somewhat made easy when arriving in London. Where once beautiful architecture burned and screams were as plentiful as the gunfire.

Cadence landed not to far from Burns side the air rippling about her acompanied by a soft hum as sound turned energy assisted her landing. "Do we get a raise? We deserve a raise." Cadence remarked trying to give a light hearted moment to the situation. It wasn't for long though as she withdrew Nighthunter once more, a violet aura coating the weapon. Taking a moment to aproach a near by soldier the violet vixen removed a shot of adrenaline from a med kit injecting the shot into herself. "Got to stay awake a Monster alone wouldn't have cut it and would take to long." There was a hint of red to her bandages her wounds were losing to the stress of the fighting.

A wave of the hand and a violet rod lanced from where Vocal was to Big Ben, several detonations shots and screams went inaudible in the same second. The sound of war turned into a ramp which she was quick to ascend. Her moves as fast as sound itself, a far cry she knew from the haste of others. Even still her will was iron outclassed she'd proven quite often she'd fight anyway. From the faster fighters and attacks she had a good idea where the king was upon the board. A lavender light flashed outward acompanied by a melodic hum that vibrated matter away from the source. A sort of forced door allowing the acoustic assassin to move from outside to inside in a single motion. This move would be clear as day from the sudden gusts of wind and light usually. With moves from the other players though she was very much an unseen and unaudible threat. Massive power sources made an ideal cover for someone far less impressive in power output.

This allowed her to hopefully get off a good shot on the source of all this turmoil. Nighthunter shot forward in a flash of silver. From the heart of the lands belonging to Doom the weapon was forged. Taken by one of his men at the time Luke Craig aka Nobody it was to serve in the defence of the empire. It moved to the hands though of Natasha Howletzer aka BloodDiamond who sought to use the blade in defense of all of Japan and at times other parts of the world when she was made aware. Vocal had taken the blade wishing to give it even more history against evil forces. It was forged of Tempestrium a metal designed to depower gods, designed to turn forces thought untouchable to human scales of ability. Cadence didn't want it against someone like The Champion though but as a tool against darker forces.

It was this depowering blade that aimed to lacerate the spine and open the jugular. To open the throat of the Talmut ruler and force the life essence to pore from torn jugular. This stab was acompanied by a roar, an echoing war cry of a sound. For sound was a weapon for the Inhuman and this war cry cast by her sword was her boldest display of that. It was a sound that cast vibrations through matter at a volume that threatend composition of most matter. It wasn't a cry that shattered stone or metal it was the kind of sound that could shatter a world. It was a abrupt and short burst targeting only the Talmut to blame for all this hardship. Even with it's limited range and all the effort Vocal put in softening the sound for others it still shook the structure and had dust throughout the beautiful structure falling in a cloud. It was one of the most exhausting things Cadence could do though, she wouldn't be fighting after that for long.
