Whatever this beast was, its claws were sharp enough to to shred through the finest plates of heavy armor and chain mail we could produce. The sight shook even my most experienced men, but what finally sent shivers through everyone's spine including my own was the combination of the smell that the woodlands now reeked. Centuries upon centuries ago, "Bryan" was a normal wolf cub who managed to escaped the grasps of a group of hunters sent out by the king at that time to clear a woodlot from any predators and wildlife in order for it to be suitable for the expansion of his kingdom
As the sole survivor of the pack, Bryan stumbled upon an old cabin deep in the woodlands in which he took refuge. Inside the cabin lived a sorceress. whom took care of Bryan to maturity and gave him the gift of thought and consciousness. She fed him and gave him shelter. The sorceress bestowed upon him the ability to shape shift into a human form as well and in return Bryan guarded and protected her in her travels and at home.
One fateful night, after Bryan had returned from the local market, he saw the cabin in flames. Set ablaze by thieves and lowlife criminals who stole the belongings and items from the sorceress for a quick penny. Worried about the woman who raised and saved her, Bryan dashed inside the cabin only to find a gravely injured Carla on the ground. Carla, weak and mortally wounded, used her final breath to cast a final spell on Bryan that gave him back the last memories of his siblings; just moments before they were killed. Igniting rage and an unquenchable thirst for vengeance in Bryan.
Enraged, Bryan dashed out of the cabin before it collapsed before him and headed to the small town just a few miles from the woodlands. His judgement clouded by rage and despair , the wolf tore through the small village in a matter of minutes, sparing no one. The enraged wolf, enhanced by magic killed every inhabitant of the village and consumed the lifeless bodies afterwards. But this act of extreme violence did not seem to extinguish his anger. Seeing the lifeless and disemboweled bodies scattered on the ground fueled his blood lust. He saw humans as the real monsters of the world, the real killers and wanted to rid the world of them. He wanted more human blood to be shed on the same grounds they built their castles, their kingdoms, their homes.
Redemption:
After centuries of terrorizing human civilization, Bryan's anger had gradually subsided and decided to return into the deep wilderness to rest. Secluding himself from humanity.
After a substantial amount of time away, hidden from civilization, he found enough closure from his past to shape shift back into his human form once more and set out to see the world centuries later.
And much to his surprise, the world has changed drastically. And although people are still capable of unspeakable monstrosity and destruction, he was able to see that humans were also capable of equally unspeakable kindness and generosity.
Upon visiting the place where the cabin that Bryan called his second home stood, He could not help but feel emotional, as it was now a protected nature reserve that was home to a wide variety of species, including wolves.
