Time. The most important think in the world, it drives the world forward, it keeps the world in check. And when messed with...It strikes back.
The Speed Force had been watching Alexander West, it had been observing, keeping tabs...planning. While the speedster known as Velocity and then Tachyon had done servable, and heroic deeds throughout his time in 2019 it mattered not. Time didn't care about heroism, time didn't care about feelings. Tachyon had changed history one to many times, and with a sweep of a hand from the Speed Force, Alex's powers were gone. His memory...gone.
Alexander woke up with a smile, Streams of sunlight fell through Alex's walls, filling up every space between his curtains with warm, sugary light. Outside his house the rays tumbled down strands of grass, which gleamed with remains of the morning dew. The sky has ripened from a fresh orange color into a pale blue. Wisps of white clouds stood unmoving. They were so thin, they appeared to be stray brush marks on blue canvas, or traces of powdered sugar on a baker's azure countertop.
It was beautiful.
Lifting his head Alex got up and hopped through his hallway and dashed into his bathroom. After taking a steaming shower he got dressed, pulling on his letterman jacket and combing his flaming head of hair then grabbing his backpack as he eats a piece of toast.
Hopping down his staircase and bursting through the door Alex sprinted out of the house and into the sunlight. He grabbed his bike off the porch and proceeded to peddle out of the country headed towards the city. Alex loves biking. He loves it all year round. That feeling of motion, the speed and the rise and fall of the path, the chance to go over grass, mud or road... It is a freedom he will always craves. That sort of liberty is a gift, a privilege of movement, to build the self strong whilst having such fun. And so, as he passes the cars that pollute, the passengers cow-like in the seats, He isthe racer on his iron-horse and he takes a turn into the park, enjoying the scenic short cuts and the song of the birds. And as he reaches Key City his eyes gaze upon his favorite home, his own city. "Today will be a great day." he pushes forward heading towards his school. Everything is good.
Everything is normal.
