@_penumbra_:

Solaris burst into the scene like a supernova. She flew into the area at hypersonic speeds, driven by anger and sorrow from all the senseless killing. She was normally not exceptionally fast in flight but she had taken an extra trip around the world to gain as much momentum as possible. The Living Star used the Earth's own gravity to sling shot herself to the battlefield, trailing a tail of blazing fusion energy. The first order of business was to save the civilians, many of whom would die in the aircraft of their hope if they were not given a chance to survive. Fortunately she had spotted the ship of the Thousand Worlds on her path in orbit and knew the civilians would soon be safe. That left the people on the ground under attack by filthy, reeking tentacles.

The sun giveth, the sun taketh away. Stars were the source of all life in the universe but they could just as easily bring about its demise or moments of agony. Solaris tried her hardest to always provide life and provide for its protection, but sometimes...sometimes she got angry. As she flew to the islands of hawaii and into the view of everyone fighting she brought herself to a sudden stop and hovered high above the battlefield. Solaris closed her eyes and concentrated, holding her arms out as if she were on a cross suspended in mid air. When she opened her eyes again they glowed with the fury of a thousand stars and shattered the encroaching, unnatural darkness that had fallen over the islands with blazing, glorious light. A sudden pulse of energy followed, pure fusion rocketed down from her outstretched arms like a wall of heat and devastation. Her aim was true, the paper thin wall of fusion energy blasted down in a line straight across the island and threatened to severe all of the invading tentacles in a line straight across the land. Where Maverick and Rytorus soldiers struggled to escape their grasp they would soon find relief. The wall was a million times hotter than the surface of the Earth's own sun and it vaporized everything it contacted within a half second of contact. Even the heat generated by its approach flash boiled liquids and turned steel into molten slag.

Solaris was not done with her attack. The moment the wave was finished she brought her hands together in front of her and a concentrated beam of the very same power erupted from her hands and screamed through the air at the speed of light, straight for the torso of the Pillar Man responsible for attacking the civilians Maverick was attempting to evacuate. In truth Solaris had never been so enraged, she did not know if she would keep herself from killing this time or not, her one iron clad rule and yet...anger was a powerful force and though slow to anger the Living Star was indeed a star...capable of acts of great creation...and greater destruction. The beam she fired burned at the same heat as she had once burned when she was in the form of a star. Solaris was one of the very first stars in the universe and burned so much hotter than the Earth's own star as to make it seem like a freezer in comparison. The air revolted against the onslaught of her heat beam, molecules died and the sky screamed in pain. Had she released the energy on a much greater scale she could have instantly burned away the atmosphere.

@below0gaming:

Katraya was about to engage when the Pillermen showed up and started wreaking a new kind of havoc. She paused halfway through the step intended to launch the attack, torn between two sides of her being. One part of her wanted blood and death and killing and other, the tactical side, warned her that now was not the time. "Damn it." She muttered. "Listen to me, you're what this world calls a hero aren't you? Then postpone this fight, we can kill each other later, the tactical situation has changed. I'll kill you as often as you want, but first there is a war to tend to." He could visibly see her restraining the wrath and blood lust that was building within her. There was no question she would engage if he hesitated in answering or if he insisted on this challenge going forward. Most other Khornate warriors would have already launched a blind attack but Katraya had royal blood pumping through her veins, the blood of a woman who had been as much of a blood thirsty barbarian as a strategist and that mind had carried through the generations to Katraya. Even so, her grip on her reasoning side would not hold for long.

When the pilots were killed and it looked as if the evacuation would go down as a great disaster...the Thousand Worlds of Rytorus stepped in. The ship in orbit immediately engaged its transporter devices and began evacuating as rapidly as possible from the falling air craft. The small transporter was immediately over taxed and they worked on teleporting people until at last the entire device fried itself in a shower of sparks.

Many people remained unsaved...but half the evacuated population was saved, safely tucked away on the mighty ship of the Thousand Worlds. With the shift in the battle away from an invading army and towards three large men the Thousand Worlds altered their tactics. No more drop pods were sent to the surface, instead they sent out a message for reinforcements and more ships activated their faster than light drives and headed for Earth. More soldiers were needed, so was heavier equipment.

@katraya: "Fine you deal with whatever it is you have to deal with, I on the other hand am here to face only one. I'll see you some other time."

Sting turned and left, he had other things to deal with.

"We, Penumbra, have served you for many years Lord Warsman,"

Owlsa. Elil. Inle. As Pillar Men, their power to absolutely control their own molecules could be attributed to godliness in other civilizations. But even they feared and made tribute to the power of the Regent of Ragnarok. They were his bodyguards, loyal to the bitter end. And now it seemed that end had come. An end of an era, an age of terror and bloodshed. To some it had been a quiet time, to others an unavoidable thunderclap. The laws of perspective and reason had to be taken into account for all things.

"As we have served you in this life, so too will we in the next,"

Owlsa. Always the speaker, the loud and boisterous one. He cried the most in his early years of existing. Pillar Men are born with perfect bodies, but not perfect minds. They needed to be molded like clay and as they developed, those imprints made upon them would form the foundation of who they were in maturity. Even now, Owlsa often let his emotions get the better of him. He often had to violently sob in order to go back to normal, a quirk that never escaped him from youth. So too did these tears come now, not out of fear of the coming solar demolition, but out of an obligation to his master. The winds scattered his molecules and he reformed, scorched slightly from the heat turning some of his flesh to molten organic material. Yet he would recover.

"It is as you said, my lord. Balance will come to pass,"

The one who proclaimed himself to be the Warsman of a distant world placed his hand on the shoulder of the wounded Pillar Man. His real name, Inle, had yet to be revealed. Nor would it be important in this timeline. The moment had been decided long ago when they would leave this place, when all of Ragnarok would cease to exist in this particular fold of time and space. Warsman had accomplished his purpose of being here. He found and exterminated the imposter holding his title here on New Vine Earth. The excessive deaths and battles since then were just icing on the cake.

"But it will not come to this world. It is not the one to where we must go,"

Inle, his flowing purple hair cascading in the devastating turbulence following the miasma of solar energies colliding with every particle in their general vicinity, finally spoke for the second time.

"Allegro con Fuoco. It has opened the path once more,"

Pillar Men are not naturally capable of producing or maintaining a Stand. However, Inle did not exist here today on the basic principle of being a simple Pillar Man. In his blood flowed the cells of the Regent of Ragnarok himself. A blood transfusion to a weak and sterile infant Pillar Man many years ago caused this. Inle nearly died in his youth, if not for the kindness of Warsman. That is why he was capable of summoning a Stand, especially one as powerful as Allegro con Fuoco. Quick and animated. Faster than light, faster than anything around it. Even if it encountered something new and exciting, it would blaze past it in an instant. It paved the way to a different timeline, to a different world.

A different Earth.

"Such a powerful and terrifying Stand you have, Inle," Owlsa commented, the need for disguises and tricks being long gone.

"Our master is already through. It is our time now. Goodbye, New Vine,"

And, just like that, the Pillar Men were gone. Hawaii, besieged, now lay empty and bare of all Ragnarok influence. They did not retreat out of necessity, but out of another - stronger - guiding purpose. They could have fought forever, until the solar system around them grew dim, until all lights in the universe became black and all time and consciousness faded away. But Ragnarok, its armies, its elite and its generals, and its master, disappeared forever from the New Vine.

"I swore I would return here one day. It seemed so much more beautiful in my dreams. And in dreams it will remain, until I find it again."

-The Disaster has been averted.

-Warsman and all associated parties have left this continuity.
