Solaris burst into the scene like a supernova. She flew into the area at hypersonic speeds, driven by anger and sorrow from all the senseless killing. She was normally not exceptionally fast in flight but she had taken an extra trip around the world to gain as much momentum as possible. The Living Star used the Earth's own gravity to sling shot herself to the battlefield, trailing a tail of blazing fusion energy. The first order of business was to save the civilians, many of whom would die in the aircraft of their hope if they were not given a chance to survive. Fortunately she had spotted the ship of the Thousand Worlds on her path in orbit and knew the civilians would soon be safe. That left the people on the ground under attack by filthy, reeking tentacles.
The sun giveth, the sun taketh away. Stars were the source of all life in the universe but they could just as easily bring about its demise or moments of agony. Solaris tried her hardest to always provide life and provide for its protection, but sometimes...sometimes she got angry. As she flew to the islands of hawaii and into the view of everyone fighting she brought herself to a sudden stop and hovered high above the battlefield. Solaris closed her eyes and concentrated, holding her arms out as if she were on a cross suspended in mid air. When she opened her eyes again they glowed with the fury of a thousand stars and shattered the encroaching, unnatural darkness that had fallen over the islands with blazing, glorious light. A sudden pulse of energy followed, pure fusion rocketed down from her outstretched arms like a wall of heat and devastation. Her aim was true, the paper thin wall of fusion energy blasted down in a line straight across the island and threatened to severe all of the invading tentacles in a line straight across the land. Where Maverick and Rytorus soldiers struggled to escape their grasp they would soon find relief. The wall was a million times hotter than the surface of the Earth's own sun and it vaporized everything it contacted within a half second of contact. Even the heat generated by its approach flash boiled liquids and turned steel into molten slag.
Solaris was not done with her attack. The moment the wave was finished she brought her hands together in front of her and a concentrated beam of the very same power erupted from her hands and screamed through the air at the speed of light, straight for the torso of the Pillar Man responsible for attacking the civilians Maverick was attempting to evacuate. In truth Solaris had never been so enraged, she did not know if she would keep herself from killing this time or not, her one iron clad rule and yet...anger was a powerful force and though slow to anger the Living Star was indeed a star...capable of acts of great creation...and greater destruction. The beam she fired burned at the same heat as she had once burned when she was in the form of a star. Solaris was one of the very first stars in the universe and burned so much hotter than the Earth's own star as to make it seem like a freezer in comparison. The air revolted against the onslaught of her heat beam, molecules died and the sky screamed in pain. Had she released the energy on a much greater scale she could have instantly burned away the atmosphere.
