Nu HALO - Detroit
|Halo Corp was once a major corporate conglomerate with ties to international shipping, cutting edge medical experimentation, and advanced research and pharmaceutical development as it quickly grew to legendary notoriety. However after several failed revivals the company briefly regained a small foothold, having sold off all of its shares to a silent entity. But after a short lived rebirth the enterprising success would ultimately fail forcing the company back into corporate purgatory.|
Eventually HALO Corp was quietly acquired by a small investment group out of Detroit, Michigan. After a complete overall, including that of staff and various subsidiaries, the corporate headquarters was moved to downtown Detroit.
Now located off Woodward Ave overlooking the Detroit River, the elaborate HALO Complex looks right at home in and amongst the city's most popular attractions such as the Greek Town Casino - as well as the home of the Detroit LIons - Ford Field.
Halo has replaced the auto industry as the largest employer in Detroit with approximately 10,000 direct employees and around 950 contractor personnel. Additionally, there are roughly 120 DOE employees stationed at its top secret research laboratory to provide federal oversight of all designated work and operations.
Approximately one-third of the laboratory's technical staff members are physicists, one quarter are engineers, one-sixth are chemists and materials scientists, and the remainder work in mathematics and computational science, biology, geoscience, and other disciplines.
The staff collaborates with universities and industry in both basic and applied research to develop resources for the future. The annual budget in 2020 was approximately $7.2 billion.
During the recent nation wide pandemic, the lab made intense and unprecedented efforts towards the humanitarian crisis through its scientific research in medicine. Three vaccines for the Legacy virus were fast-tracked 'through voluntary' testing on the city's low-income residence. With oversight conducted by the scientist Bette Korber and her team.

Other research performed at the lab includes the development of a cheaper, cleaner bio-fuel and advancing scientific understanding around renewable energy. Non-nuclear national security and defense development is also a priority at the lab.
This includes preventing outbreaks of deadly diseases by improving detection tools and monitoring the effectiveness of the United States’ vaccine distribution infrastructure. Additional advancements include the ASPECT airplane that can detect bio threats from the sky.
Development for a safer, more comfortable and accurate test for breast cancer by Lab scientists Lianjie Huang and Kenneth M. Hanson and collaborators has also seen substantial increases in funding. The new technique, called ultrasound-computed tomography (ultrasound CT), uses sound waves to accurately detect small tumors that traditional mammography cannot.
Through a number of institutions, Hill Enterprises holds the majority of HALO Corps' outstanding shares.
Thus ensuring Nu Halo still adheres to its trademark brand marketing, or the omnipotent battery which was the initial source of its overriding success.
During the public unveiling the new board of executives proudly introduced its new CEO, Jordyn Hill. As his first official act he promised to bring free public transportation to the city.
By replacing conventional engines with the immortal Halo battery, thus eliminating the need for expensive foreign oil, the city in turn passed on the cost saving rainfall by eliminating the need for passes and fees. Allowing residents of Detroit to ride the buses for free.

The revamped corporation was not finished in its efforts to heal the crime ridden city of Detroit.
With access to Halo Corp batteries, Detroit was able to proclaim its electrical independence as it became only the fourth grid in the lower 48.
The other three being the Eastern Interconnection, the Western Interconnection, Texas, and now Detroit.
Free of federal regulations, Detroit's infrastructure was allowed to flourish. To the extent that the neon lights and digital evolution of its utilities have begun to reshape some of the city's visual aesthetics.

The reduction in crime is also no coincidence. With residents apparently willing to trade in various rights and privacy. Detroit's cityscape is now littered with fully weaponized drones monitoring the city with anti-metahuman armaments and an array of sensory units, including up to date files on various well known metas, as well as facial recognition software with a direct line to all of the metropolitan police departments.
The city of Detroit as well as the Nu Halo Corp have both silently enjoyed a steady rise from their previous positions of ineptitude.
But is Halo's resurrection the result of brilliant strategy? Or is there a quiet council operating behind the scenes ensuring the success of not only the company, but its mysterious CEO as well....
