Need help with a survival sci Fi RPG

So, lately I went into making my own RPG from 0, and after 2 months of work, I was enable to begin sessions for testing it, but I need help with vechicles RPG itself is focused on survival, got stats like energy, oxygen, player need to eat at least 2 times per day, but I have got problems with making vechicles, I need a way to make them both efficient but costing a lot in using, does anyone have suggestion about the system for it?

Could just make vehicles a fast travel system that costs resources to use.
