Moon Bird Studios is the film studio recently opened by Luna Hawk, aka Kendra Saunders Hol. Kendra got her start in the film industry by releasing her own sex tape as a means to discredit someone but took to the industry. She was soon on numerous posters (adult and otherwise), in various videos and on many pay per view websites. She continued this trend for sometime before she built a film studio in what is now Grimm City. The studio focused on the development of adult films both for internet and dvd release while each of the actresses that join the studio were protected from bad ex boyfriends, leech like family members and other predators of Grimm City. Rather than keep the girls down, her studio lifted them up, provided education, room and board for free.

Eventually Luna Hawk moved her film studio to LA, where she expanded its operations and eventually founded Moon Bird Studious, a combination of her adult film studio and a new, mainstream studio intent on bringing more traditional films to less traditional media. Using her gold reserves Luna Hawk has purchased a state of the art studio in Hollywood along with all the latest equipment and staff necessary to film a modern major production. She has also purchased a series of Theaters across the country and re-branded them Luna Theaters. Each theater has seventeen screens and exists in every major city across the country.

Moon Bird Studios releases non-traditional format films. They have a deal with every major online streaming service and each of their films is released in theater as well as in the new internet formats that have become so successful for television shows in recent years. She has plans to further expand the business into non-traditional formats in the near future and believes that eventually theaters will either have to evolve or will become a relic of the past, making her investment in theaters a temporary means of providing greater public access to her films.

Luna Hawk prefers movies that combine practical effects with top notch CGI rather than those that rely on over the top CGI. As a result she hires producers and directors who feel the same and her studios are filled with all the necessary equipment to make realistic sets and practical effects. Moon Bird Studios hires expert practical effects personnel who are eager to put their skills to use, directing young men and women hired from the art departments of local universities.

Moon Bird Studios continues Luna Hawk's tradition of taking care of and promoting young women (and men) by providing them with jobs that garner valuable hands on experience for a fair wage. Those in particularly bad economic straights will often find they can do extra work for the studio in exchange for suddenly finding their student loans paid off.

Security at the studio is visible. There are armed men and women who patrol the premises, armed with the latest in anti-meta technology. There are also those who work inside of the facilities hired for their particular meta human abilities to provide defense not just for the studio grounds but also for the individual men and women working for the studio.

Philosophy:

Moon Bird Studios goes out of its way to hire actors and actresses that actually fit their roles. This means the studio ensures that there are no 'white washing' controversies while at the same time does not 're-imagine' classic characters for the sake of appealing to the social justice warriors of the world. There are also no 'mysteriously skinny and impossible' action heroines. If a character is expected to do physical work and be physically capable of beating up bad guys, the actress (or actor) will be expected to undergo significant physical training as well as combat training to better play the role. This also helps to avoid 'that guy never shot a gun in his life' situations where actors and actresses firing weapons in a film have clearly had at leas some experience at the range.

Pushing the Boundaries:

Although the adult film portion of the studio is its own division, the main stream films still frequently push the limits of their ratings as much as they push the limits of special effects and original story writing. Luna Hawk likes to hire directors who will push the boundaries of story telling, try new things and not worry about how many F-bombs are allowed in an R rated movie and so on. This is not to say that every film they produce pushes the boundaries, only that some of them do and it is a risk the studio is willing to take.

-----------------------

oc:

Visit if you like, no major destruction, usual rules apply etc etc.

I will be adding to this as I come up with stuff and will hopefully create blogs related to specific movies released by the studio.

Moon Bird Studios - Night

Eyes narrowed beneath white lenses, the Fiend scaled the side of the facility's tallest building, the complex boasting only minimal security detail which could deal with the likes of him. While research indicated a strong anti-meta presence, they had no advanced countermeasures against an ordinary human being infiltrating the locale. Claw-tipped fingers dug into the side of the wall, a blacker-than-black cape masking his movements as though he were part of the building. Rain poured down as well, disguising any sound his climbing would have made should he somehow slip; additionally, it reduced the likelihood that any guards would look upwards, the downpour causing them to keep their hooded heads - and eyes - level with the ground.

Reaching a window, he slid a finger along the edge, sharpened tip running along underneath the sill until it found a latch. Twitching the digit, he pulled back, unlocking the window and pushing it inwards. It swiveled open, a man-sized hole visible in the side of the building for a fraction of a moment before it swung closed. The Black Ace crouched low, pressing a small button hidden within his glove and activating the lenses of his cowl. Through advanced technology, his lenses peered through the walls of the building, isolating any security cameras and extrapolating their field of view.

Running low through the compound, the Fiend approached the adult filming area of the studio, slipping through doorways and waiting patiently to see if anyone were inside before continuing. He'd chosen his time to approach well, for he anticipated that the facility would be largely empty at night. Isolating the primary room, he crouched at the door, picking at the lock until he heard a small click.

Disgusting, thought the Living Shadow, pushing the door open slowly. Shutting it, he skulked along the wall, footsteps muffled by both his intrinsic sense of balance and the soles of his custom-designed combat boots. The cape was draped over his shoulders, parted only at his legs as he strode through the studio. He nodded, content to see that it was empty, and found a spot to conceal himself. Scaling the wall, he collapsed his posture, camouflaged in a corner of the ceiling of the room they'd use to film their next debauched project. The light fixtures were beneath the area he'd chosen, meaning only shadow would be cast where he hid; the vantablack cape would absorb all light coming his way, rendering him optically invisible to any who glared up in his direction.

And there he would wait, with a patience beyond that of a normal man, for hours. Wait until they were prepared to start rolling, so that he might spring his trap.

Moon Bird Studios - Morning

After a few months of employment, Sitri was starting to get used to getting up at the unreasonable hour demanded of her (which, in her opinion, involved anything before noon). Business hours, yuck. Admittedly, that was largely compounded by the fact that she was still working her waitressing job most nights, so she went from her job at Moon Bird to her job at the restaurant to bed half the time. It didn't leave a lot of time for other things, but then again, it kept things interesting in its own way. And her bank account balance was doing a lot better as well - she hadn't been late on a rent payment for three months now, which was at least getting her back in her landlord's good graces. She'd even gotten her other bills paid down, now, gotten some decent clothes, and had a couple hundred dollars in an actual bank account, which was... pretty much more than she'd ever had.

And the job wasn't so bad. Like most, it involved a lot of waiting around, punctuated by brief moments of panic. Luna Hawk had been right about some of the boyfriends. Most of them, however, were not used to having a girl stand up to them, and especially weren't used to having a girl punch them in the face. Sitri had punched a few faces, and then in the spirit of entrepreneurship and making her job easier, gotten together with a few of the actresses with problematic relationships and shown them how to punch faces. She'd found that she actually kind of liked a few of them. She had some things in common with a lot of them, and if she wasn't really happy to have found some people who understood food stamps and growing up in a trailer park, at least she had some people who knew more about the actuality of poverty than the armchair benefactors, arguing for the rights of the downtrodden with smarmy smiles and facebook selfies.

She greeted Shirley and Laverne at the door with her ID in one hand and a can of Coke in the other, and they were dutiful in inspecting it even though they knew her by now. Hell, Sitri even knew that their names weren't actually Laverne and Shirley, but she stuck with it that way in her head anyway, because it amused her. Not out loud, though. Combined, they were at least three times her body weight, maybe even four. And besides, they were perfectly nice guys. Just a little overzealous sometimes. She clocked in, tucked her things in her locker, and downed the last bit of Coke before being a responsible citizen and rinsing and recycling the can, then started on morning rounds. Most of the time that involved walking around trying to look busy for an hour, then glaring at boyfriends and telling them that they weren't allowed on set.

This morning was not most mornings. One of the crew pulled her aside almost immediately. The door to Studio Four had been unlocked when he'd arrived in the morning.

Protocol on that point was quite firm: close the door, alert security personnel, and Do Not Go In There. There were, of course, many reasons a door could be unlocked - anything from "closing shift forgot to lock up" to "vigilante terrorist out for Great Justice" to "raving idiot boyfriend" to "annoying journalist." Sitri went with him to the door, radioed in just in case, drawing her handgun and nudging the door open, praying it wasn't a journalist.

Seriously, those guys were the scum of the earth.

The room was empty at first glance, which ruled out "raving idiot boyfriend" - they tended to be in center stage, and start yelling as soon as someone opened the door. She hit the lights, then stepped inside, scanning the room carefully. Nothing obvious. No half-hidden idiots wielding iPhones like a crucifix against the Evil Institution like crusaders in cheap suits. Good. Maybe it wasn't journalists.

Still. Something was not right. Okay... fine. Sitri drew a breath, and opened up the walls in her mind.

The walls were important. They were there to protect people. Sitri had spent a lot of time working with Luna Hawk on theory, on how to get those walls working. The walls helped shield her from her innate ability to feel the emotions of others. It dulled them, kept them quiet, kept her from drawing them in and feeding on them. Kept them from being overwhelming. Sitri didn't have much self-control when things were overwhelming, and in an industry like this, self-control was extremely important.

Right now, though, the only person she knew was in the room was herself, and that meant anyone else there didn't necessarily deserve her self control. So she brought the walls down.

:Disgust. Anticipation. Loathing. Eagerness.:

Oh, God, it felt good. Sitri drank it in, let it start to fill her.

Son of a-! She pushed the walls back up, hard, recoiling slightly, flicking the radio switch. "We have company. One individual. I'll hold. Backup when possible."

She scanned the room again. Whoever it was... was certainly better at hiding than the average e-journalist. Well. She addressed the room in general. "Come on out, Mr. Sunshine. You forgot to show your ID at the door. People get grumpy about that around here."

His eyes narrowed again the moment the woman walked through the door, muscles relaxing ever so slightly as he prepared for the possibility of movement. It was beyond human to remain still for hours on end; the stiffness that would ordinarily have set in by now, however, was absent. A combination of mental exercises and quietly moving his fingers and toes had relaxed the entire body, demanding only enough muscle movement so as to conceal him - but keep him quiet and out of sight. The fact that he'd been expecting someone to walk in at anytime meant that there was no change in his demeanor, expression static beneath the cowl as the woman entered the room.

Female. Blonde. Gun.

They were meticulous about their security, then. His suspicions deepened, the meticulousness of the organization not quite one he'd expected. His garb concealed him thus far, for even looking up into the shadows on the ceiling would reveal nothing. His costume absorbed light, cape cloaking him in artificial night. She was speaking now, calling out to him in a bid to get him to reveal himself. Implacable, he remained. She called in assistance on the radio. Brilliant. She had not seen him, or she would've either fired on his position, or addressed him directly; she had sensed him somehow. A metahuman.

She recoiled.

That was good. Fear meant control. Fear meant susceptibility to distraction, a willingness to seize on any lead.

He reached down at his belt with one clawed fingertip, the black glove popping open the compartment at his waist. Gently, he removed a quarter, his other arm now bearing much of the weight and keeping him pressed in the corner. Narrowing his eyes, he flicked it through the open door, slung at such an angle as to bounce against the opposite wall and roll down the hallway. He hoped to draw her away momentarily, convince her that whatever danger had been present had passed; he could remain in the room at length, as far as he knew, and she'd just have to get over her feeling of anxiety. Whatever she had done to isolate his presence, after all, had clearly perturbed her.

He'd waited hours. He could wait a few minutes more.

He was focused on her, now. Sitri had left a hint of a gap in the walls, not enough that his emotions were overwhelming, but enough that she could feel a little bit of his emotional state. Some of the loathing had subsided, replaced by a keen interest. It was a damned shame that didn't translate to any sort of directional sense that she could tell; that would have been handy. It probably could be translated into a directional sense, if she had a better idea what she was doing, but she still wasn't to that level of comfort with her disability yet.

Something pinged through the door and into the hallway. She shifted a little at the sound. No. If it had been a real attack, there would have been a surge of aggression, or... something. That wasn't there, just the same focused interest. Okay, so that's a distraction. Let it be.

Conclusions: There was some guy, who was really not happy about this place for some reason, skulking in the darkness and tossing things to try to distract her, presumably so he could execute whatever feat of awesomeness he had planned. There were far too many of those hare-brained ideas that considered mere security personnel to be acceptable casualties, so Sitri wasn't really thrilled with whatever this guy was trying to pull off. Or whoever he thought he was. "Holy Social Justice Warriors, Batman," she commented, mostly to herself. The invader probably wouldn't think it was as funny as she did. For all she knew, he was more of a Marvel fan. She flicked the radio again, then added, "Kill the lights for me. All of them." Tech support took half a moment, then the room plunged into darkness. That was fine. She'd absorbed enough of what he'd been feeling earlier. Blue eyes shifted to amber, slit eyed and quickly adjusting to the darkness, then starting to scan the room again. She could see just fine, so if whatever was hiding him relied on keeping him hidden from the light, it wouldn't help him now. It was just a matter of finding where he'd hidden himself. She smiled a little bit to herself. You can't hide in the dark... I will stalk you through the shadows, catch you and bring you down....

She shivered a little in anticipation. Oh, yes...

Oh, no. Getting a little megalomaniacal, there. Ease off on the crazy. Right. Focus. Scan the room. Find the intruder. Disable, capture if possible. Don't think about what human liver tastes like.

If people weren't meant to be eaten, why do they taste so good?

Shut up, self, she told herself firmly. The crazy part of her was not in control right now. Just because it was there didn't mean she had to let it take over. Right now, she had a job to do, and that was more important. Focus. Control. Find the intruder.

Hmeh.

The Fiend's eyes narrowed once more as she neglected the pinging sound of the coin, the roving guard clearly locked onto his presence somehow. He couldn't necessarily rule out cold instinct, but his belief in coincidences was shaky at best. She was talking to herself now, perhaps reassuring herself as to her confidence. His grip had returned, holding on to the ceiling with the soles of his boots pressed into the walls on either side of his body. But, when the lights went out, he knew.

Meta. Night vision.

Such an unnatural request, particularly in the face of suspicious activity, was a dead giveaway. Now was his chance to turn the tables; whatever trick she had planned clearly capable of working against his use of darkness. Maybe her sight was thermal in nature, and the light would interfere, but he had a hunch that it was just straight night-vision. It'd work against her.

Instantly, he flicked a flash pellet into his hand, priming it with a squeeze and tossing it at her face from the corner. A magnesium-based pyrotechnic tool, the tiny pellet was aimed to explode about four feet from her head. The translucent orb would contain the force of the explosion, but not the noise or extreme brightness; approximately one million candela of luminous intensity, bright enough to cause instant blindness in normal conditions, would be even worse with the added impact of any sort of night vision. The noise would be loud enough to cause deafness as well as dramatic inner ear disturbance, throwing off the equilibrium of anyone directly exposed to the noise. Anticipating the attack, the Shadow Philosopher had adjusted his visor, and the cowl would mitigate the deafening blast.

But for someone else in the room, it was entirely possible their senses would be utterly devastated. A non-lethal attack, but a cruel one - particularly against metahumans.

Were the maneuver successful, he'd immediately drop from the ceiling, closing in on his target with extreme prejudice. In the event she had been stunned by the flashbang, he'd proceed to throw a jab at the wrist of the hand holding the gun, a painful strike meant to instantly disarm the foe. This attack would precede the next, a jab to the stomach in order to wind the opponent and perhaps even induce nausea. This would hopefully obviate any further communication. Finally, he'd attempt to snatch the walkie-talkie from his pursuer, reaching out with a claw-tipped hand to clutch at the tiny handheld radio.

If it worked, it would take about four seconds to complete.

She felt the surge of aggression directed towards her, saw the quick movement of something coming her way. That was an attack. She dodged back sideways, out of the way of whatever it was so that it wouldn't hit her.

It didn't hit her.

Then again, it wasn't meant to. She still wasn't more than a body length away when the little projectile suddenly exploded into a cacophony of light and sound. Sitri added to it with a word entirely relevant to the founding premise of the studio and certainly not approved for all audiences. She quickly ejected the magazine from the gun, let it drop to the floor, and blind-fired the chambered round. Unlikely to hit anything, but if she were using a blinding attack against a gunman, the first thing she would do would be disarm, and the second thing would be to pick up the gun and shoot the original wielder.

The anticipated attack connected with her wrist just a moment after she'd fired - painful but not debilitating. She dropped the gun anyway, useless now, and dropped the walls. Her own pain and her opponent's desire to harm flowed into her; she pushed them into all the dark corners and growled, acceptance and the defraying of inhibitions, shifting her mentality into that of the predator, shifting her body with it. Its second strike connected, not with the weak human flesh he'd expect, but with soft fur, pale yellow spotted with black, and coiled muscles beneath. She moved with the hit, back out of the way; it was little more than a love-tap. It could see her, and she was still blinded, but she could smell it.

It smelled really good. With silent stealth, she circled around behind it, then pounced with two-inch claws extended, intent on ripping through its spine and sinking her teeth into its neck, tasting the blood that flowed beneath.

The blind-fired round vanished into the folds of the Fiend's flowing black cape, the tactical garment serving aptly to disguise his movements and prevent an immediate counter-strike. He'd succeeded in disarming her as well, the weapon and its components scattered to the floor along with the walkie-talkie, incidentally dropped at the same time. He marked its location as it fell and continued with the second strike, knuckles pummeling the woman's stomach yet meeting unexpected resistance. He raised an eyebrow skeptically, for she now boasted the look of a feral cat, rather than a human; her general anatomy remained intact, but the evolutionary features which had given rise to mankind had been supplanted by something far more predatory.

From the impact and way she rolled with the blow, the Shadow Philosopher knew that it had been largely ineffective in neutralizing her advance. She'd slid away into the shadows, equally capable of silent movement and intent on avoiding his gaze. The abandoned walkie was snatched up immediately, an earpiece already fetched from within the arsenal belt and jammed into the now-open back of the device. Twisting a wire, he tapped into Moon Bird Studios' security comms line, sliding an earbud up inside his cowl in order to listen in...affording him a tactical advantage none would know about.

As for the cat-woman? She'd retreated temporarily, seeking to circle around to his back. Otherwise known as the most vulnerable area, the Fiend twisted, the 360° vision allotted to him by his advanced cowl enough to spot the beast leaping at him from behind.

The advantage of fighting a metahuman with animal characteristics was that their attacks were often equally savage. A running dive towards his upper body was telegraphed enough to turn into an advantage. Sacrificing one's footing for the sake of a leaping attack against a formidable combatant like the Fiend was a figurative faux pas that would not be forgiven. In an attempt to neutralize his opponent, he lowered his stance, ducking under the dive and trying to wrap his arms around her leg and stomach. Then, he'd work with her weight, using the momentum of her pouncing attack to slam her brutally into the ground spine-first.

Luna Hawk was soaring above the city, enjoying the warm weather and the ample sunlight. It bathed her exotic skin like a golden wave and sent feelings of home rippling through her nerves and memory. There were days clear as this one where it felt like old times, flying high above the cities of man and basking in the glory of Amun-Ra's rays. She banked lazily and did a casual barrel roll, just taking time to enjoy being alive. She sighed when new information came through her helmet via link to her studio's hidden computer array. Great.

I'm sure she can handle an intruder. She mused and went back to enjoying her lazy early morning flight. She swept her wings back and dove low until she was just barely avoiding the tall peaks of towering sky scrapers. Her hawk vision allowed her to spot the most minute of details on the street below and her hearing picked up conversations even as she soared beyond them.

She breathed deeply but it came out as another sigh, the persistent alarms coming from her studio and unmistakable call for backup all she needed to break her out of her joyous morning sky cruise. She accelerated rapidly, her change of plans heralded by successive sonic booms as she pushed her body towards the limits of its flight ability.

Zooming across the city like a sixth generation fighter jet Luna Hawk tuned her helmet to the security systems of her studio, the video and audio of every single camera in the building pouring into her helmet like a dozen movies at once. She filtered them out with rapid flickering eye movements, her mind quickly discerning normal from abnormal. There! A dark room lit by a flash bang. She caught a glimpse of the two figures involved in the flash before the camera burned out but the audio receptors picked up on the sounds of continued combat. Already? That's not good. The feral sounds of Sitri's demonic form were unmistakable.

A neural impulse sent through her helmet swept out to receivers on the other end. Her studio's systems kicked into gear, doors flung open as she rounded a street corner. She began rapid deceleration. "Get everyone out of the building." She ordered over the unknowingly tapped com system. "Put a call through to 911, tell them we'll need medical and reinforcements."

She said no more, the front door of her studio was in sight. One might not notice upon entering the building but the first corridor through the entrance was an eighty foot straight line...the exact distance it took Luna Hawk to land at speed and come to a controlled run. Half a second before she would have smashed her wings into the walls she folded them on her back, now traveling at much slower but still reckless speeds her feet touched down just inside the hallway and life times of practice kicked in. Controlling her balance with inhuman precision and taking advantage of her momentum, she was able to take what should have been a crash landing and turn it into a very fast sprint through the hallways of Moon Bird Studios.

Close combat guy, one of those Dark Vengeance look a likes. Probably relies on gadgets and martial arts. There's got to be at least forty of these guys in every city, it's like they can't all find a new costume or something.Just my luck one of them is trying to tear apart my project and rip down all I've built up with Sitri in the process. That poor girl has enough on her plate as it is.

She brought her run to an abrupt halt in the doorway and had already retrieved her weapon in the process. The visors of her helmet instantly filtered out the darkness, adjusting to the shadows with better than night vision until she could see the bat-thug trying to body slam Sitri. She leveled her hand crossbow and fired at nearly the same moment she arrived in the doorway. The Nth Metal bolt flew from the small crossbow at high speed, sailing through the air straight for the Justice Warrior's closest knee. It would be extremely difficult for her to accidentally strike Sitri, a girl she had grown fond of and if it struck its velocity and Nth Metal design would make short work of his knee. The end result shouyld be a physical inability to complete his maneuver, if Sitri hadn't worked her way out of it by the time the bolt arrived and if he wasn't wearing meta material armor or didn't manage to avoid the attack.

Either way, her finger drifted to the second and far more lethal trigger...just in case.

Sitri felt its shift of movement in the air around her, but by that time she'd already committed to the strike. It was intelligent, whatever it was, and it could see in the dark, at least as well as she had been able to. Now, though, all was dark and silent, so she had to rely on scent and feel, the shift of air and the touch of strong arms around her. Inhuman, she was far more flexible, and twisted as the creature did, coiling into the throw and absorbing the impact mostly on her shoulder. She felt the searing pain and the numbness as the joint popped free of the socket, muscles tearing as it wrenched to the side. She could still feel the thing's emotions, mostly adrenaline-fueled exhiliration in the fight. The earlier feelings of disgust and loathing had faded to undercurrents with focus, it was used to fighting and controlled itself well. She wasn't its primary target, and didn't invoke an emotional response; she was merely an obstacle to be defeated.

It wasn't the only one there, though. Suddenly, there was the scent of another, one that-

No.

-one that was familiar. Sitri might have been a solitary creature, but that one had been close enough for long enough that it registered as 'family' in a sense. Not another target. Not an opponent. She tasted its- her -emotions, fierce protectiveness and possessiveness, almost vocal. The kitty is my pet. If she'd been human, she'd have probably found that funny, but her alter form's mindsense didn't extend to situational humor. Her demon-ability wrapped itself in her own pain, drawing strength, but Sitri pushed it down, fed instead on Luna's protective sense. It didn't do much for her power, but it stabilized her, brought her mind back under her own control. Her opponent was still above her as she pushed the shadows down, pushed the demon form back, reverted to her human form again. She could feel the loose cloth draped above her, and twisted her good hand through it, seeing if she could hold him there, give Luna Hawk a better shot for whatever she was doing.

He still smelled kinda good, but in a completely different way that didn't have anything to do with ripping him open and eating his insides. It had more to do with the fact that while apparently some shapeshifting metas had the uncanny ability to bring along their clothes and anything that they were carrying when they shifted, Sitri wasn't one of them. The only thing that shifted was herself, and everything else had dropped in a neat little pile with the radio he'd picked up, ages and aeons and maybe a minute and a half ago when their fight had begun. Fortunately, she'd never been shy, so it tended to bother others a lot more than it bothered her. She licked her lips slightly, tightening her grip on his cloak and her demon, because while she was willing to use it to taste the emotions of others, using it to influence them was gross and weird, and because being meta wasn't about what you could do, it was about what you should.

Right now, what she should do was help Luna win this fight. Her ears were still ringing, but she was starting to be able to pick up little bits of sound through the din, she'd be able to hear well enough in not too long. Everything remained dark, though. She'd deal with that, later. Deal with the intruder now.

The crushing counter had caused a rapid reversion in the woman's form, leaving him to stand over her as his primary target burst into the room. Inconspicuousness was cast aside as the urgency of her attack was made known, the folded wings and sloping birdlike helm enough to give away her identity at once. At his feet, he felt the woman grip his tactical cape, clearly in some effort to forestall his retreat and leave him open to an attack.

He shifted to the side, rolling out of sight the moment he saw Luna Hawk enter the doorway. The Shadow Philosopher's cape was torn from Sitri's hands as he completed the maneuver, designed to adhere more closely to his own form than that of anything which might catch it - intentionally or otherwise. The Nth-Metal bolt struck the ground behind him with what seemed like less than a second to spare, only three particular factors contributing to the Black Ace's ability to dodge the otherwise-crippling strike. The first had been the time Luna Hawk had taken to calculate the particular positions of those in the room, her accounting for Sitri's presence and focusing on not striking her accidentally allotting the Fiend the time he, too, needed in order to react. The second factor was Luna Hawk's chosen weapon, a crossbow rather than a traditional firearm; unlike a gun, it was easier to predict where the bolt might fly by looking at the way it was aimed. Finally, the travel speed of a bolt, Nth-Metal or not, was but a tenth of a bullet's - and the Fiend had garnered himself a reputation for avoiding shots with only a cursory glance at the gun barrel.

That being said, Luna Hawk was unnaturally proficient with the weapon, and in spite of his prodigious skill, the Fiend only narrowly avoided taking the bolt to the knee. He knew his armor likely wouldn't stand up to a direct hit, diving away into the darkness. The fact that she was able to spot the Fiend and her employee in the dark revealed the same use of night-vision as the Ace's first foe, open to the same debilitating sensory-affecting weaponry.

Drawing more flash pellets, he tossed a handful towards the women, hiding his eyes behind a raised cape. Booming noises, one after the other, would echo through the hall, as though grenades had gone off in each of their enhanced ears; the light would be unbearable, scorching the retinas even if they weren't looking directly at the tiny pellets. But if they were, as was typical when encountering projectiles, then the pain would be even worse.

Impressive agility. Luna Hawk mused as she watched her caped foe narrowly avoid what would have been a potentially crippling crossbow bolt. From that moment things moved swiftly, the foe's ultra dexterous fingers whipped out a series of pellets and sent them flipping through the air towards her. The lenses of her helmet processed the information and sent it to the computer built into her helmet. From there the data was sent to a series of computer databases Luna Hawk had long tapped into, the most powerful of these being the self-repairing Super City systems in what was left of Grimm City. Unfortunately none of these systems had encountered these particular pellets in the past which left Luna Hawk to operate on her own assumptions.

When the pellets did their thing they should have been agonizingly crippling, especially for someone with the sort of hearing and vision abilities of a Hawk Lord...but Luna Hawk had encountered this strategy before, though it had now been a few years. When it was used against her in the past it had caused her to crash into the ground mid flight and left her unable to pursue her enemy at the time until her body was able to repair itself. After that moment she had reconstructed her helmet to counter flash bang style attacks. The light flash came first and the lenses of her helmet instantly adjusted to the sudden burst of light by polarizing to an extreme degree. The bang that followed could crush had its own counter. Luna Hawk's original helmet was simply a helmet, this one however was a computerized system designed to provide her with life intelligence, all sound that reached her ears was processed first by a series of audio sensors that could be used to compare information with what was found in her database systems. The sensors could also be used as a 'mute' function and activated automatically in direct response to the helmet's internal diagnoses of the attack.

Comparing the small pellets to other weapons, the computer at first had no idea what to make of them, when they exploded in mid flight and released a blinding flash, it adjusted its diagnosis. The audio sensors switched immediately to mute at the same moment the flash activated. The end result was that Luna Hawk's hearing was completely undamaged when the audio-sensors switched back to listening mode. Her vision was another story, the speed of light was simply faster than computer processing power and although the lenses had acted quickly, they had not blocked all incoming light. She was left with white spots in her vision that would last only briefly but it was far better than being blinded.

Luna Hawk acted at the same moment the helmet was attempting to protect her from the flash bangs. In the moment he hid his eyes behind his cape and a half second before the pellets ignited, she caressed her secondary trigger. One of her most famous weapons, the hand crossbow was a combination of one shot weapons, a hand crossbow ontop with a one shot laser gun below. The second trigger activated the laser and sent it searing towards the Dark Liberal, intent on following the same path as the pellets. The flash of the pellets happened just as the laser cut through the air. If it struck, he would be left with a laser weapon hot enough to cut through steel striking whatever armor he wore over his left shoulder. I really don't want to kill this guy if I can avoid it, I don't even know why he's here yet. Her other hand retrieved her mace from her belt.

Sitri let him go, sitting half up and grabbing on to her arm, wrenching her body back until she felt the shoulder pop back into the socket. There was no world in which that was a good feeling, for sure, but it was better than the alternative. The pain was intense, though, and she felt it drive her down.

~~~
"So, we have some choices to make."
Sitri sat up and looked around. That didn't take long, it was pitch black. "What?"
"We have some choices to make. Come on, get with the program."
"Who the hell are you?"
"I'm you."
"Jesus, Mary and Joseph." Hardly. Sitri considered this information. "I'm in the middle of something."
"It's cool. Internal monologues are instantaneous in real time. Besides, it's not like you're doing much good."
"...Well, that was harsh."
"Yeah, it turns out you're a bit of a bitch."
Sitri laughed, despite herself. One point for her other self. "So, if you're me, how come you haven't shown up before now?"
"Because you hate me."
"Hasn't changed." Not if this was the 'her' she thought it was, anyway.
"You made a conscious decision to use our abilities with the intent of killing someone."
"Oh." Another pause. "And that means I get to show up and talk to myself, does it?" No answer, but then again, she already knew the answer. "So, how come I can't see you?"
"Because you're blind, idiot."
"I feel like that shouldn't work inside my head. Besides, aren't I like half-deaf right now, too?"
"Yes. We can filter that out, as long as it's not permanent."
"Of course we can." Sitri almost rolled her eyes, but then started considering the implications of that statement. As long as it's not permanent. "...Oh."
"Like I said... we have some choices to make. Inspector Gadget just threw another handful of those flashbangs. We can draw on the power we've got to mitigate some of the damage, but you're not good enough and I'm not well-fed enough to negate all of it. So, we need to decide if you want to be blind or you want to be deaf."
"...Seriously?"
"Yeah. Seriously. There's... a chance you might recover, eventually. I'll work on it, behind the scenes. It would take a while, though."
"How long?"
"I don't know. Depends how much you hate yourself. Probably a few decades. Your other option is I try to even out the damage over all senses. You'd lose most of them - again, we're talking years, not months. But you'd be more likely to recover everything, after that time."
"That's a hell of a choice."
"Yeah. Sorry. I'm not real happy about it, either. I know you don't like me much, but I'm actually kind of fond of you."
"Charmed." Sitri wasn't. She sighed, closed her eyes, which didn't make any noticeable difference. "The vision might be gone anyway, yeah?"
"...Yeah. I don't know. It might be too late. It might not."
"Mm. Go ahead and sacrifice it. We'll make do with other things."
"You sure?"
"Yeah. It'll suck, but I can handle it. I think."
"All right. Oh, and one more thing."
"What?"
"You're not going to remember this conversation."
~~~

Sitri shifted form again, springing back out of the way on instinct. She could feel the power within her surging, but she couldn't really tell what it was good for. Smoke in the air cleared, and she felt the invader's surge of loathing - not directed towards her, though. Luna Hawk? Whoever this guy was, he really didn't like her much. Somewhat offhand, it occurred to her that she'd never been able to think this clearly when shifted before. Maybe it was practice. Or maybe she was lucky. Or maybe she was just hurting too bad to bother about being crazy right now - her shoulder was still painful any time she tried to put weight on it, but at least she could put weight on it. She circled around a bit, putting some distance between her and Luna Hawk - it would be harder for him to target them both. Maybe they could trap him between them somehow, take him down and tear him open. Lick the blood from the gashes. Mmm.

Luna Hawk was focused on the opponent now, intent on taking him down.

...but not killing him.

That wasn't much fun. Sitri sulked in the darkness, and waited for an opportunity.

Apparently, stunning the original guard would only temporary drop them out of whatever alternative genetic state had taken hold of their body. Rolling away from the two had allotted the Fiend enough time to catch his bearings, noting that the flashbangs hardly seemed to adversely affect the hero-turned-porn star. In his mind, the two were mutually exclusive.

His attack itself had been punctuated by the Hawk's own retaliatory follow-up, this time a burning laser flashing towards his left shoulder. It was impossible to dodge a beam which traveled at light speed after it had been fired, meaning the Fiend could only rely once more on watching where the barrel was pointed. Unfortunately, he'd had to cover his eyes in order to avoid staring at the flashbang, leaving him open to the retaliatory strike. It was only for the tactical nature of his garment that the laser did not actually hit his body, instead searing a small hole through his cape and scorching the side of his shoulder. Obscuring his position was the greatest strategic advantage offered to him by the cape; otherwise, he wouldn't wear it.

The bright light of the laser had bothered his eyes as well, though they quickly re-adjusted. The original combatant he'd engaged had moved from where she'd been deposited on the floor, prowling on all fours around the side of the room. He saw now that she had changed utterly into a leopard, rather than partially; it was a detail he'd uncharacteristically missed in their first encounter.

Not standing still for even a second, he flicked his wrists, tiny shuriken-like throwing stars bearing his emblem sliding up between his fingers. There were four to each hand, stainless steel projectiles held professionally between his fingers. With a flourish, he launched three towards Luna Hawk's exposed midsection, where they'd hopefully embed themselves in her stomach. The others were sent towards the Leopard, aimed for the most sensitive areas - the eyes. The flurry of metal darts spun through the air at both targets, too fast to see.

Regardless of the successive attacks' success, he rolled backwards, silently planting a C4 charge on the ground as he did so in the very center of the room. The movement was so fluid that one might suspect the bomb was there the entire time, and he'd simply passed over it. Coming up in a combative stance, he kept his mind on the detonator, which could be activated with a series of rapid thumb presses on his inner palm.

:Hatred. Anger. Aggression: Whisper of air beside him. Sitri moved, feeling the attack start before it commenced. She didn't know what form it would take, but standing still wasn't a good idea. She darted back, catching the scent of metal in the air just before the blades struck. Small things, designed to tear soft skin or sensitive areas, they sliced inward but lost most of their spin in the threads of her fur, opening small gashes but not striking anything vital.

The cuts still stung, and bled, which was going to make it harder to smell anything else. Blood was like that. At least it was her own blood. That helped, somewhat. If nothing else, it helped with her tentative hold on her current mental state, which was still a few crystals short of a sanity chandelier as it was.

Sitri wondered what his blood would smell like. Probably pretty good. She was annoyed that he wasn't bleeding yet. One way or another, she felt like he ought to have been. That needed to change.

Except Luna Hawk was still trying not to kill him. I'm not Luna Hawk, though, I can kill him...

She really wanted to. Not just because it would be fun, but because she was starting to think he deserved it. Seriously, what was this guy's problem?

No. No. Luna Hawk didn't want him dead. Sitri would obey.

For as long as it suited her, anyway.

She edged back again, keeping him between herself and Luna Hawk. Splitting his attention seemed to be helping, somewhat. And if he slipped up and focused on one of them, well, then that gave the other an open shot.

And he was really focused on something all of a sudden. Less aggression, more anticipation. That had to mean something. She didn't know what, though. He's got something planned. I just don't know what it is.

Or why.

Kendra's inhuman sense of hearing immediately relayed the sound of metallic objects sliding into her opponent's hand and a half moment later, the sound of those self same objects flying through the air in her direction. Luna Hawk couldn't just hear sounds from long distances or pick up on painfully faint sounds but she could determine the path and location of objects based on sound, it was almost like a form of sight. She pivoted swiftly out of the way, but the projectiles were moving with such speed it was impossible to completely avoid the attack.

Two of the four projectiles missed by a fair margin, the flying blades sticking into the hallway wall. The third made a paper shallow cut along her abdomen, leaving behind a thin trail of gold blood. The final one stuck into her hip where it was brutally blunted by the heavily reinforced bone structure of a Hawk Lord. Kendra shrugged off the pain and tore the weapon free of her hip, tossing it to the ground along with her crossbow. She gripped her mace firmly in her opposite hand, her eyes scanning the room and her opponent in equal measure.

What the hell is wrong with this guy? He busts in here, now he's trying to kill me and my guard and he just planted an explosive in the middle of the room. C4 is good but it's not enough to bring this whole building down by sticking it in the middle of the floor. It'll just blow the walls out, send shrapnel flying into the streets and collapse the roof in this area...good chance to kill or maim innocent people instead of destroying the entire studio.

Luna Hawk circled slightly to the left, ensuring he now stood precisely between herself and Sitri. C4 needs a charge, something to set it off otherwise it's incredibly stable. He must have a detonatorsomewhere. Luna Hawk moved forward, slowly approaching the man in the center of the room. Her mace lit up, energy coursing across it's surface as she sent fifty thousand volts of electricity into the Nth Metal. For now she kept her approach slow. I want to see what he does next, I want to make sure he's not a suicide bomber bent on killing innocent people before I engage this jerk.

First blood.

It was simply a calm observation, devoid of indignant rage or calculated satisfaction. When it came to field combat, the Fiend was a professional, not relishing in causing harm or seeking to further his foes' suffering. Everything was reduced to equations and potential threats, eyes flicking back and forth from the now fully-formed leopard and the winged porn-star-turned-politician who stood before him. She'd hefted her mace, an unwieldy weapon in his eyes; by maintaining an adequate distance, he could remain safe from the electrified weapon. Closing in on his form would bring only disaster, and he was confident in his position, the bomb in the center of the room giving him situational leverage over the Hawk. Traversing the room to meet him would result only in a devastating explosion; attempting to circle around would enable him to pick them off one-by-one.

The leopard was attempting to circle around again, and attack from behind. It boasted human intelligence, or something approximating it. The Shadow Philosopher fixated his eyes on Luna Hawk, though in reality he was able to observe both foes at once, his hyper-reactive neurosis keeping pace with every change in the environment. Additionally, the 360° vision provided by his visor let him manage his peripheral sight, flawlessly taking in everything in his environment. Ordinarily, using such a tool would be nauseatingly disorienting, but years of practice with the special cowl made its use just as natural as any set of goggles.

If they operated by sound or scent alone, as he believed due to the flashbangs, his sleight of hand would be even more effective. One more time, he slid a flashbang into his hand, tossing it into the center of the room to blind his opponents. Even if it had no highly debilitating effect, the constant BOOMand blinding light was enough to weather away the resolve of even the strongest foes. He trusted the shadows as well as his foes' blindness to hide his movement. Gently, he slid another smaller charge onto the back wall, a breaching device which could be used to create an alternative exit to the streets. It was placed in an instant, hand behind the back; immediately, he was back in position.

He adjusted his stance, raising his hands in front of his body, knees bent.

@lunahawk: @autarchist:

Luna Hawk was frustrated - Sitri could feel her annoyance, directed at the invader. She was worried about something, that sense of anticipation, tinted with another layer of protection. Something she needs to protect from... in the future? What would that mean?

...It means there's a bomb.

It clicked together, making sense - the enemy's aggression and anticipation, echoed by Luna Hawk's reaction. He'd set up an explosive. How big? Luna Hawk was... concerned, but not panicked. Mid-sized, maybe? Sitri couldn't say for sure. She heard the crackle of electricity - she'd never personally seen Luna Hawk's weapon in combat action, but that was the only thing that could be. She'd watched as many old videos of her employer as she could find after being hired, to get an idea for her capabilities. The mace was a powerful weapon, probably a lot more powerful than most people gave it credit for.

That was Luna Hawk, though. What was Sitri doing?

Not much, really. She didn't like the admission, but it was still there. It seems like he's got some sort of answer to anything I've thrown at him so far. Whoever he is, he's determined to prove me completely ineffective.

And as much as she really wanted to kill him, she wasn't here for him. She was here for Luna Hawk. I need to help her. Right now, I am not helping her.

Right now, I am probably making things worse, because I am not doing anything to this guy, and she has to worry about me besides. So. Fix that.

Sitri completed the half-circle. She'd been working at Moon Bird Studios a few months, now, and had been in and out of every one of the studios many times. She knew the rooms, knew the ways they were set up. She'd been thrown off for a bit, but the pacing hadn't just been to keep her opponent busy; she'd used it to reorient herself, to figure out not just where she was in relation to her opponent, but where she was in the room. The door was behind her, she nudged it and ducked through. Out in the hallway it was quiet; the eerie silence of a hallway that should have had people walking through it or through other hallways in the distance. The evacuation order was being followed, then, that was good.

She made her way around mostly by memory and feel, bumping in to a few walls and glad that no one was around to see her do it. The locker area wasn't that far from the studio; she went inside and pushed herself back into human form. Without their emotions preying on her mind, that much was easy enough. A soft clatter of metal echoed on the floor, and she bent over to pick up whatever it was. Sharp-edged. One of those ninja-star things they used in bad anime? It must have been stuck mostly in her fur; it had popped out when she'd shifted. Her fingers traced over it... there was some sort of emblem there. Interesting.

She found her own locker, fingering the lock. Those tiny numbers were so hard to feel... it took her a bit, to get her combination correct. It was a relief when it popped open. She put the little star carefully inside and slipped into a spare set of workout clothes - that, at least, she could do easily enough while blinded. She put her hand back into the locker, carefully taking out the 9mm she kept there. She'd been carrying a .45 when she'd gone into the room, but she hadn't wanted to risk recovering it while blinded. True that accuracy mattered less with the higher calibre, but when she wasn't the only one in the room, that worked against her as well.

But Luna Hawk had weird biology. She was pretty insanely durable. Sitri wasn't sure she could shake off a shot from a .45, but a 9mm was probably not going to do her that much damage unless Sitri happened to hit something really vital.

Just aim low. She checked the weapon safety and then ignored sanity and regulations and stuck it in the waistband of her pants. Time to head back, clear-headed, and see about changing tactics.

She made her way to the receptionist's desk and picked up the phone. Wow. 9-1-1 is actually really easy to dial when you can'tsee. Lower right, upper left, upper left. That's... convenient. I wonder if they thought of that when they designated the number? She waited, with a lot more patience than she felt, while the call connected, then identified herself. "We have an explosive device at Moon Bird Studios. I'm not sure how big of one, but I think it would be prudent to have local police cordon off the area and get any civilians out of the area.

"No, I don't think it's a timed detonator. I think it's a trigger. The guy holding it is still inside. So is Luna Hawk. Yes, I am as well. I don't believe there's anyone else in the building, evacuation procedures were initiated with the intruder alert. No, do not send police or bomb squad into the building, the intruder is actively hostile and meta-combat capable. Just get the civilians clear. No, I am not going to stay on the line." She dropped the phone back in its cradle on the second attempt. Practice.

Okay. He's probably got a tap on our security coms, but the hell with it, I'll just have to watch what I say. Luna Hawk should be plugged in as well. There was always a spare radio in the secretary's desk; Sitri found it and turned it on, saying nothing for now, but she could listen in and figure out what the next steps needed to be.

As before Luna Hawk's helmet cut off the flash before it could do any lasting damage and the sound before it even reached her ears. Her primary focus was on the bomb and for a time she was uncertain of what to do about it. Hm...actually...She reached down and drew her other pistol, thumbing a switch that caused the three barrels to rotate and lock one of the other barrels into position as the primary. That won't go off without an electrical shock released by a detonator. So let's get rid of the detonator.

No Caption Provided

She fired her pistol without preamble. One caress of the trigger sent three high speed miniature fragmentation grenades from the barrel at virtually the same moment without the kick of a standard pistol based upon gun powder, instead they were fired using the metal storm system, the weapon fired all three shots far faster than a traditional fire arm and far more accurately. They were all aimed for the center mass of the C4 block. If they struck they would embed in the block and detonate. While the C4 wouldn't go off, the explosion would scatter it like a child's spilled play-dough to say nothing of the tremendous damage it would do to the actual device meant to deliver the detonating electrical charge to the C4.

Another flick of the switch and the barrel rotated again. Her hearing informed her kindly of Sitri's important phone call and the fact that everyone was now out of the building. Bystanders outside would soon diminish swiftly enough. She studied her her opponent carefully, her lenses taking in every detail, recording every incident of their fight for later study. I need to find out who this prick is and why he's here. "What the hell is your problem anyway? You're threatening the lives of a lot of innocent people for what? This studio employs dozens of people that are given a free education, training in acting and technical film industry positions and helps people get away from atrocious lives. There's no reason for you to be doing this."

Good pitch. Well-rehearsed. All crap, the Fiend thought, watching Hawk deactivate his tentatively-set bomb and neutralize the control he had over the center of the room. He didn't move, knowing that by this point the leopard-woman would be summoning reinforcements. He didn't respond, knowing he owed his foe no explanation for his actions. What he'd sought had been denied him, and while he still firmly believed in her guilt, he needed to know where to take the future investigation. He angled his head to the side, and spat his question, a demanding phrase intended to provoke a reaction from the Hawk.

"Sunken city, Northern Africa. Cultists everywhere - Studios connected. I have evidence. Tell me what you know."

He made it a habit to disregard coincidence, but there was always the possibility in this random universe.

"What in the world are you talking about?" Kendra asked with clear confused and surprise in her voice. "Cultists in Northern Africa? That's like saying you saw a fat person in the American South. Between the edgelord 'cultists' of Set who have no idea what they're talking about, the terrorists that worship at Satar's feet and radical Muslims willing to proclaim greatness through self explosion, there's a lot of ground to cover. This studio isn't associated with anything, we make movies, I pay the tuition of kids in bad situations and give them an education in the film industry. I haven't been to Egypt in months, Amun-Ra and I don't exactly get a long right now. What evidence do you have? I want to see it."

Luna Hawk didn't drop her guard in the slightest, as confused as she was by his demand for information she didn't even know existed until he asked about it. Sunken city? I'll have to ask Solar Hawk if she remembers anything about a sunken city somewhere in North Africa.

Hm.

He narrowed his eyes, surprised to hear what seemed to be a genuine answer. Her voice didn't change pitch, and she spoke in a long coherent sentence - all signs of truth. While the surprise was there in the tone, it was one appropriate for the situation, rather than something feigned. Furthermore, her body language didn't change, her guard still up. Someone looking to convince someone else would smile, or act friendly...even when they had no reason to. The Black Ace's line of work meant knowing when someone was telling the truth was paramount. He straightened his posture, dropping his arms to a more non-combative stance. From his belt he plucked a collapsible PDA.

"Your 'studio' has a cult problem. Attempted human sacrifice in the name ofMoon Bird Studios."

He dropped the plastic box, and kicked it across the floor. The screen would buzz to life, images taken from the crime scene.

"Conspiracy goes deep. Your entire company may be compromised."

Another probe. Might even be true. He waited, limbs concealed beneath his black cape.

Luna Hawk took in the images on the screen while still keeping her eyes largely on her opponent, even if he had relaxed his position she had seen his reflexives before. Hm...Her lenses recorded everything they saw and fed the information into her database. A neural impulse and the computer in her helmet began to search through the database for anything similar, seeking out links from one bit of evidence to the next, in search of anything even remotely familiar.

"My studio consists of slightly less than thirty people at a given time." She told him. "If anything, a cult has a studio problem. It bares looking into though, I don't like seeing our name attached to weird cult activity and I don't like even more weird cults in North Africa. I'll run an investigation on the company just in case and I'll talk to Solar Hawk about investigating this location in North Africa, provided you're done blinding my employees and planting C4." She said with clear anger still lingering in her voice. She had not forgotten what he'd done to one of her favorite employees, who now very well might be blind for the rest of her life and possibly deaf as well. I need to get this to end before he hurts more innocent people. He seems to think he's coming from a just perspective, but that doesn't excuse what's happened. It feels like this studio is putting people in as much danger as it is helping them. I just hope I can help Sitri recover, I put her in this position, she needed more training.

"Mhm."

The only response he'd offer, a simple rebuttal to Hawk's passive jab at his actions. If left to his own devices, he'd simply walk past her, gliding over the ground as smoothly and silently as a phantom, cape masking his movements from all angles. Not even so much as a sideways glare would accompany his actions; ever the professional, he'd keep to himself as he exited the room, unfettered by his personal biases against the sordid studio he'd infiltrated.

Provided he were allowed to pass, he'd stop in the doorway, standing still for only a minute.

"Sorry about the mess," he'd add, just as flat as everything else he'd said. Whether or not it were disingenuous or sincere would be entirely up for debate. He still doubted the company's innocence; at most, he believed Hawk's testimony, but only from a personal perspective. Everything else about the organization screamed conspiracy. Then there was the presidential run to take into account. Whoever was manipulating the Hawk, whether they believed it or not, was playing quite the game. A game with many moves.

He had a CEO to interrogate - business in Chicago. He'd leave the same way he came, blending into shadow the moment he could.

Evening, and everyone had gone home. Almost everyone, anyway. Just like with any other place of business, there were always a few people still working late. And just like most places of business, one of them was the one in charge of things.

Sitri waited a little while as thing cleared out, finding ways to appear busy while everyone went home. It wasn't too hard to fake being busy. Most of the time, Sitri didn't bother. The truth was, she really did like her job. Tonight... well, tonight, she just wanted an excuse to stay a little while after everyone else had left. Looking busy kept her from the usual random invitations or feeling like she ought to make sure the girls got home safely. Most nights, she didn't mind doing that.

But tonight she needed... a little more time. The office was quiet, after hours, and most of the doors were locked. The lights would be off, as well. Sitri never bothered turning them on anyway. She could tell when they were, though. They hummed, with a gentle heat. The light in Luna Hawk's office was definitely on.

Sitri smiled a little bit, then shook her head and knocked patiently at the door. "Hey... I know it's late. Can I talk to you about something?"

@kaede_:

Luna Hawk opened the door and motioned for her to come in. "Of course." She smiled. Her helmet was parked on her desk and her jacket was tossed over a chair. Luna Hawk wasn't expecting to go home any time soon tonight and not expecting anyone in her office this late, she'd taken steps to relax a little and be more comfortable. "What's on your mind Sitri?" She asked her. She walked to the mini-fridge she kept at the back of the office and pulled out two bottles of water. "One thing I've learned in my life is that when someone comes to you asking to talk about something, that something is usually pretty significant."

She opened the bottle and offered it to Sitri. "I'm here."

@lunahawk:

Sitri accepted one of the bottles and sat down in a chair across from the desk without really thinking about it. Luna Hawk always kept her office furniture in the same places. It was a nice little touch. Sitri didn't know if that was a thing Luna Hawk did for her, or if it was just that she was meticulous, but either way she appreciated it. And either way, she didn't want to know the answer to which one it was.

"I know," she said, which summed up her feelings on... well, pretty much everything that Luna Hawk had said. It made the next step a lot harder. And easier, at the same time. She toyed with the bottle without opening it. "I need to take some time off," she said, eventually. "Probably... a while. I don't know how long."

She did crack the seal on the bottle then, buying time. Maybe one day, she'd feel like she could afford it. "There's... there's some stuff going on. And I don't want to tell you too much, because I have a feeling that the less you know, the better. But... I don't know." She smirked, then took a sip of water. "It's kind of a Godfather thing." Luna Hawk knew movies. She'd get the reference.

"Anyway. I need some time to get myself sorted out. Figure out... figure out what I am and who I'm going to be, I guess. And I don't want whatever happens spilling over on the studio or the girls. They've got enough to deal with. I know this is kind of... sudden," Sitri added softly, "And I'm sorry. But... I don't think I can afford to wait."

@demonboundsitri:

Luna Hawk opened a safe in the back wall of the room. Had Sitri had eyes she would have seen the keypad was written entirely in hieroglyphs. She removed a small bag, counted out several strips of gold and then put everything else back and closed the safe.

Luna sat down across from Sitri and slid a small stack of gold strips across to her. "I've never met anyone that didn't need to take a break sometime and figure themselves out. Some people don't do it and they suffer for it, others do. Your job will be here when you get back." She smiled a little and placed a gloved hand over one of Sitri's on the desk. "And if you need to talk about any of it, I'll be happy to listen."

She withdrew her hand and leaned back in her seat, taking a moment to enjoy a drink of water and let Sitri think over what she'd said before she would add just a little bit more. "Sometimes, you have to go really far away, sometimes people just have to get away. If you feel the need to tell me where you're going you can but if you'd rather not say or if you don't even know just yet, I understand that too."

@lunahawk:

Sitri put a few questioning fingers on the strips in front of her, then pushed back a little. "Luna Hawk, I can't... you don't have to-" She stopped herself, realizing that this was probably a battle she wasn't going to win, no matter how hard she tried. And knowing that Luna Hawk would do the same for any of her employees. She was a good person - a rare thing, in this world. Sitri suspected she didn't know how rare. She sighed. "Thank you," she said, instead, then sat up a bit and reached across the desk, stealing a pad of paper and a pen from their very proper locations.

She set her left hand carefully on the paper, making a little guiding corner, and wrote out a bit of information. She had to be careful, with writing. The letters tended to want to wander. If she paid attention, she could still do it neatly, but it wasn't easy. Not any more. After a few moments, she pushed the paper back across the table and set the pen down. "Just... so you know who I'm with. And no, I don't trust them. But I don't have a lot of choices right now." She took a few quiet sips of water, then added, as an afterthought, "I trust you. Just... keep the girls safe, here, while I sort things out. I don't know... I don't know how long it will take me to get this taken care of. Or what I'm going to be like once it is. But... for what it's worth, I trust you. And... I will try to be good."

Just gonna leave this here from the OP:

"combination of her adult film studio and a new, mainstream studio intent on bringing more traditional films to less traditional media."

(Also, basically yes. Moon Bird doesn't hire existing actors, they hire new people looking to break into the world of acting. Some of them are brought up through internal training programs, others have their training and education paid for. What isn't likely is jumping straight from having never acted to being a movie star)

@lunahawk: Well, my character does fit the "New person looking to break into the world of acting" bit. I'm fine with making him work at "movie star" status eventually. He's taken Drama class in Middle School and is currently taking it in High School, so he has some acting experience. Would this work?

A young boy with green headphones pulls up towards the building in a taxi. He exits the taxi and heads toward the trunk,opens it and grabs what appears the be a duffle bag filled with costumes. He hands the cab driver a $20 dollar bill, and walks toward the building taking a few moments for an internal prep talk. "I've seen the ads and I can't believe I'm going to be working with THE Luna Hawk. Man she had some good material and this poster my " Dad" gave me will give me her signature,but I wonder will they experience an amateur, they probably will." He enters the buliding, and looks around at the grey interior "Grey,I like it" he drops the bag on the floor and looks at his phone at the time, "When does she come out, like in a hawk suit or something."

He sits on the floor with is back on the wall, on his phone, a program pops up with the Title [King. Exe]. A black background shows on his phone and then a camera view shows what looks like a prison-like room "Safe and sound" he exits the app and plays various games on his phone waiting to be noticed.

Luna Hawk was soon spotted as she exited a room. She stopped to speak to a woman who exited with her but the words were spoken too quietly to be heard from his position. After a few moments she smiled, squeezed the woman's shoulder and then the two of them parted ways. Luna Hawk made her way to where Rey was seated and smiled a little. She'd seen plenty of people in that seat, most for similar reasons.

"Do you prefer coffee, tea, water or soda?" She asked, unlocking the door to her office. "And come inside, let's see what's on your mind." She opened the door for him and stood aside so he could enter the office first. "I have a little bit of everything in here these days." Assuming she walked inside, she followed after him and shut the door.

"So, what bring you here Mr..." She trailed off so he could interject with his name.

Elio enters the office leaving the duffel bag behind, but still holding a rolled up poster waiting to be signed. "Minos, My name's Minos, and I'm more of the Diet Pepsi kind of guy." Think she's supposed to serve him, he stands next to the door. "Oh, almost forgot" The man hands the woman a poster of an adult poster of her "This is my father's and he wanted you to sign it, he couldn't come cause he's working right now" He places it on her desk,assuming she has one, and hands her a pen. "So let's get down to Business, shall we. I am here cause I am looking for a job, cause my music career is crumbling down I figured get a job that has a boss, and I've hand a passion for acting." He starts to shake nervously hoping not get rejected. "I am open for any type of genre you have, and whenever we can get started I am available.

@lunahawk: (OOC: When Luna is done with Rey King, my character drops by. ^_^)

Kid Superion lands in front of Moon Bird Studios and walks inside. He glances around at all the nice decorations, posters and everything else that is here. He goes to the secretary and asks as politely as he can, "May I please see Luna Hawk for a walk-in interview? I read in a magazine article that Moon Bird Studios is looking for new people looking to break into the world of acting. That's me, I want to be an actor."

The secretary kind of, sort of, nods but smiles pleasantly enough, "I'll be just a moment."

She picks up a phone and pushes a button, "Ms. Hawk, Kid Superion is here to see you. He's wanting to be an actor. Shall I send him in?"

@rey_king: Luna Hawk opened the mini fridge behind her desk and slid a Diet Pepsi across the desk to him. She took the offered poster and spread it out over the desk, smirking a bit. She fished a golden pin out of a drawer and signed her name both in Hieroglyphics and then in cursive English. "So for acting, we usually start people out pretty small to build up confidence and skills. We also can either send you through an acting school of our own or pay your tuition for one of the larger and more prominent firms. We do require everyone to go through some form of schooling though, precisely because we don't hire existing actors and actresses that have already been made, but would rather give people like you the opportunity to break into the industry."

She paused and glanced at him for a moment. "How old are you, if you don't mind my asking?"

"Sure." She said over the com. When he entered she was standing in front of a previous movie poster in her office, arranging the placement of a few files. "Come in, come in." She smiled and turned to face him as she closed a drawer. "Kid Superion? Any relation to the other Superions?" She wondered. She pulled out a seat for him and motioned for him to sit down. "Can I get you anything to drink?" She wondered.

Luna Hawk removed her helmet and set it facing towards the rest of the room. "One of the things we focus on here is giving people opportunities, so many studios only want established names."

@lunahawk:

When Kid Superion enters Luna's office, he looks around briefly. One word he thinks is, Awesome! The office, from what the Kid can see, is spotless, orderly, clean and very well decorated. He sits down when she directs him to, smiling at her beautiful, exotic, face. This is made even more so when she removes her helmet. Now this woman is one hot babe, even more beautiful in person than in the few movies he's seen her in. The not so 'explicit' ones, that is. But the Kid keeps these thoughts to himself, no need to say them out loud and create an awkward situation.

"Yes, I'm Lady Superion's little brother in fact." He says with a charming smile. "And yes, please, I'd love a soda."

Then when she finishes the last bit, he looks her in the eye. This teen doesn't seem the least bit intimidated by her, although the same cannot be said about everyone. Still, there is an air of caution about him. It's almost as if he's thinking before he talks, a skill he doesn't practice too often but with her, she deserves the effort. "I appreciate you giving me the opportunity for this interview. Please, ask me anything you like."

Luna Hawk retrieved a soda and handed it over to him.

"Well, let's start with just some really basic information." She said with a smile. "How old are you? Is there anyone that will need to sign consent forms or other paperwork for you? What kind of acting are you looking to get into? We don't really start new people off in specific genres so much as just get them into what roles we can while they learn. You'll not be looking at being a star right away, but I can promise you will get screen time and the chance to establish yourself."

She smiled, if she was aware of his understandable thoughts or glances in her direction she made no sign of it. She slid a drawer open and passed it across the table with a pen. "Basic application information, a formality that we can get out of the way while we talk."

@lunahawk:

Kid Superion grabs the soda and says, "Thank you." All with a polite smile.

"I'm 15 and only if you require a guardian's signature." Which, he has to be honest, he hopes she doesn't require of him. But if she does, then he will ask his parents to sign those papers, which they probably would anyway. "I'm looking to get into action movies and since I'm a Super-Hero, perhaps even those kinds as well. I know I can't choose what genre I start in because directors want to test me, see what I'm good at first while getting some needed experience under my belt before someone takes a risk on me." He takes a sip of his soda, careful not to drink too much at once because he does NOT want to burp in front of such and exotically beautiful woman such as herself. That would be beyond embarrassing.

The Kid looks over the form, filling it out and then signing his real name. But...he also sees a part that says Stage Name (Hope this is okay).He doesn't want people to know who he really is, so picking a stage name and going by it as an actor would be a good way to keep his family safe. He almost picks Nicholas Cage but that stage name was already taken. Right in the presence of a woman with wings, all he can think about in regard to names are the ones related to birds. So, he comes up with with the stage name of Connor Hawke which also happens to be the name of the comic book character known as Green Arrow, who is the son of Oliver Queen. But hey, if Nicholas Cage can name himself after the Marvel comics character, Luke Cage, Kid Superion can get away with it too. So, he signs his stage name as Connor Hawke.

When a question on the application is asked on weather or not he has any acting experience, he says yes. Then writes on the lines following that he has taken three years of drama in middle school and is currently on his fourth year and straight A's in the class. He answers no to some questions, yes to others. Then when asked what kind of roles he wants, such as lead, supporting, cameos and the like, he check marks every single one of them. He takes another sip of his soda before he glances up at Luna, "May I ask what got you into acting?"

"What got me into acting?" She laughed a little and leaned back in her seat as she watched him fill out his forms. She was fairly certain, given his age and gender, that he'd seen at least one of her adult videos or images, or knew someone who had. "That's a bit of a long story, but let's just say that I've really been more interested in the adult side of the industry for a long time. I got into running a studio because I realized I could use my connections to help girls on the street get away from dangerous boyfriends, abusive family members and pimps and get them into something productive, teach them, pay for their college...a lot of our actresses go on to become main stream actresses or to other careers, some of them behind the camera. It's rewarding to know that while I can help people while fighting, I can also help people doing something like this."

She watched him a moment and smirked. "I do enjoy the acting from time to time, but to me this part of it is far more rewarding."

If Kid Superion is being honest, he has not seen one of her adult videos or images. However, he does know someone who has. And while it's true that he LOVES the ladies, his parents have grilled it into him that seeing a naked woman outside of marriage is not cool. That's not to say he hasn't been tempted to take a peek, because he has been tempted.

When Luna explains things, he smiles, "That is totally awesome!" And as soon as he is done signing the papers, he offers them back to her, "Oh! I almost forgot!" He takes a piece of paper out of his jacket pocket and offers it to her, "My sister wanted me to give this to you just in case you have questions, concerns or need to get into contact with our parents for any reason."
