Update

As of Age of Imperialism, Maverick Inc U.S has closed, and the corporation still exists, albeit more amorphous than it did before.

"One mind, any weapon. Act like a man of thought. Think like a man of action. Power perceived may be power achieved. Mastering others is strength. Mastering yourself is true power. Become that which your enemy fears the most. These are the doctrines of a great Warriors, Kings...and Heroes"

Introduction

It is very often that they are called mercenaries and "cape killers." However, this is not technically the case and they are not classified or recognized as such. The Corporation known as Maverick is a multi-national multi-billion dollar private military corporation, or PMC for short. The entirety of their job in some way, is rooted towards security, however, many know that sometimes the greatest defense is a strong offense, and thus, the corporation's influence and presence extend far and wide, bringing a variety of people of many different folds, from many different backgrounds for many different reasons.

Whether they were ex-special forces, convicts, police, army, marines, from other private military corporations, skilled civilians, rich or poor, they all now serve under the corporate entity that is Maverick Incorporated.

About Maverick

Maverick is a rather obscure corporation that is in actuality not well known by the public, with their American branch based in Denver, Colorado. It is not impossible to find information on them at all, but it difficult to come across, it's usually something that among the majority of the populace that must be researched and searched for on the internet to find what little information they can about the corporation.

It's origins go back for some time, when it was a much simpler security firm in the 1970s, founded by their CEO Jonathan F Bold. Starting out as a small firm, they mostly did work in third world countries located in Africa and the middle east. However, as problems and unrest began to reveal themselves throughout the world, the man soon sought to turn his company into something larger, something greater. He sought to use the growing conflict of the world to grow, and began to train his men to take on a wild variety of threat. He and his force were successful, making a name for themselves as the participated in a variety of Civil wars throughout Africa, being funded by the U.N to aid with Humanitarian efforts. Soon, they grew more in power and as extra normal threats began to arise, the man saw an opportunity to create something the world seemed to lack, a group of mortal men capable of combating it.

Jonathan F. Bold, CEO of Maverick, present day
Jonathan F. Bold, CEO of Maverick, present day

And thus he began to train his men to do so, and with his acquired wealth, soughtto advanced his own technology, hiring a numerous amount of the many great minds in the world, some found out in the open making huge leaps and bounds, some found in the dirt, scientists who invented and use their minds to survive. They would come and they would be found, some of them former tech-based supervillains, now hired by the corporation to propell their technology decades ahead of their competition, their growing corporate influence allowing them to pull people from many places.

Today, their level of technology is decades ahead of most modern day technology and in actuality if it was all available to the public, it would revolutionize the world. They have abundant energy through Nuclear fusion based on Helium-3, having basically free energy. In addition, they have highly advanced 3D printers capable of making a variety of smaller items with extreme precision out of most any material malleable to a degree. Able to print with microscopic precision, they can make small objects, electronics, various parts and an endless assortment of small 3D objects, though on a smaller scale. Larger printers can make larger items and help in their manufacturing. Recent acquisition of directed energy weapons from Henosha have sent their directed energy based weaponry leaps and bounds ahead. Their weapons can only be described as next gen, and are a force to be reckoned with by army and powerful metahuman alike, being highly advanced versions of modern day military technology, but taken to a level of refinement and efficiency unseen mostly day military.

Medical technology includes advanced gene engineering, biointegrated technology, advanced synthetic biology as well as a budding prosthetics and cybernetics division. Most any soldier can have limbs and organs fully regrown or replaced. Augmented special forces are all genetically engineered super soldiers who do not age and have potential to accumulate centuries of combat experience. Weapons are on par with, slightly above or drastically ahead of most modern technology. However, they lack the ability to make anything that defies physics. The mutant/meta-gene cannot be properly engineered by them, which is something the government and some armed forces projects have on them. They do not have any vibranium whatsoever and adamantium is still something they are attempting to obtain for their own use. Exotic elements and technologies such as these allude them, however, much of their technology more then compensate for it with such reactive technology able to counter and block such weaponry.

However, with all this advanced technology, manpower and destructive capability, you are only as strong truly as your weakest link, the man in the machine. And thus, Maverick seeks to make it's men as adaptable as they need to be.

They are a varied group, with it being common having some sort of history in the armed forces. However, many of them are from third world countries, recruited from chaotic lands and given citizenship in another country and trained to become loyal to Maverick themselves. Others have training from previous experience in the armed forces, which is preferred. Ex-special forces often come into their fold, usually becoming apart of the little known Maverick Shadow Company. If there is anything the armed forces excel at, it is tactics and mental conditioning, something Maverick takes many ques from, indeed, having it's base being so strong in the armed forces, they likely would never exist without it.

High level metahumans and mutants are often not included in Maverick, not because the corporation itself is racist against them. Practically, they are often difficult to control and sometimes present a threat to their own teammates. Other times, they simply lack the ability to become as skilled as a soldier, as most people simply don't have what it takes, and mutants have even less among themselves who can endure the training the armed forces can deliver. Indeed, most mutants and metahumans who have the skill to join Maverick and endure military training are apart of Venezuela's military.

However, they have long since surpassed it, having currently more contractors then the United Armed Forces has soldiers, and has one of the largest standing armies in the world. That said, being that the armed forces have seemingly not advanced at all in general despite the numerous advanced technology about them, and often having their army be used as fodder for other forces, Maverick was eager and key to fill for roles where they fell short.

In the present Maverick's operations are various. They are well known to the corporate and government underworlds (as well as the higher portions of organized crime) for their escorts, saving high value officials and wealthy from conflict that could otherwise end them, such as in the Bedlam Breakout and the Mutant Terrorist attack on DC and Washington. Other times, they are involved in humanitarian efforts, being involved partway into and near the end of the battle of Henosha, aiding the U.S in bringing down the walking tyrant dictator. As well as combating highly dangerous threats to humanity, such as the Somalia AI incident, in which a rogue AI attacke the city of Mogundusha in an attempt to forcefully liberate the populace from poverty, with much of the population still missing to this day. They have many contracts in various areas of the continent of Africa, defending businesses such as oil and mining companies, as well as defending conveys from bandits. They also do work with the U.N, often defending their facilities from local threats such as power mad warlords, as well as at times launching operations against them if necessary.

Thusly, as a whole, the corporation can considered, lawful neutral.Who they work with depends all on the person themselves. They will not work for or provide security simply anyone who throws money at them. Such as known terrorists and other threats to global stability. They exist to combat such things, though making decisions that are morally controversial. The people in the corporation are people, and thusly as individuals, the corporation cannot speak for if they are "good" or "evil" as there are many among contractors who fit within and also out of these monikers.

The locale

Maverick's American division is based primarily in Denver, Colorado. It is by no means the only base they have, and to destroy it would be like destroying the head of a multi-headed Hydra. But, it is a large location. In actuality, Maverick practically owns a sizeable area of the city all for themselves and their use.

Indeed, the area can be branched off into many different parts because they own not only the building but basically all non-government property in the area. Civillians are still free to roam the area as it is technically government property but surrounding businesses and buildings are all but owned by them.

With this, Maverick was also able to deploy a small private "police force" comprised of M.U.Os who patrol and watch over the area with M.S.Cs being in high density near the building with crime in the area being shockingly low, and Maverick often intervening with any extra-normal threats in the area. The people are surprisingly accepting of men with assault rifles patrolling about, with the state of the world today, it makes them feel actually safer. Ordinary crime simply does not survive in this city and the concept of a privatized police force though it has met some controversy, it has it's supporters now as well among those who know of them.

HQ

Corporate HQ
Corporate HQ

A rather large office building of 75 Floors in total, the building is rather tall. This is Maverick's corporate Headquarters, a place of business where office work is done by civilian employees, who serve as the "Backbone" of the corporation, with soldiers being the arms. As well as the Corporate heads. Most anyone who can actually meet with their heads, meet here.

Other such things as logistics and the management of money occur here, however, what goes on beyond paperwork within the walls of this building is for the most part, unknown.

Reception

However, the area is meant to be welcoming. Guests are allowed in certain areas provided they have a guide with them. However, the upper floors are reserved mostly for EMPs.

Security Measures

Maverick's security measures are ever expanding, ever adapting. Like an organism, the building will adapt to attacks launched towards it and that are attempted towards it.

Evacuation
Evacuation

Personnel are very quickly cleared from the interior of the office building. They are generally all valued personnel who are rushed out in case of any sort of large scale attack. Security is quick to keep track of where a theat is and isolate it.

One of the most basic defense to the materials however are the materials, as it was built to last. The materials allow it to sustain immense out of damage through it's durability. Nano-cellulose reinforced superconcrete gives it the capacity to take many a superhuman blow before they make it in as well artillery, with a strength able to resist blows in the thousands and having an immense tensile and compressive strength. The building can shrug off an 8.0 earthquake on the Ritcher scale.

In addition, the building itself does incorporate defenses to even deflect earthquakes themselves using metamaterials.

No Caption Provided
No Caption Provided

Using these, they can actually deflect earthquakes away from themselves and surrounding structures around themselves, though it can cause more damage to the surrounding area in the process.

However, Maverick's primary defense towards powerful visitors and craft are it's reactive series defenses, designed to defend against aircraft, speedsters and incoming projectiles. This defense consists of an array of lasers all about the buildings structure, cloaked and hidden from the visible light spectrum. The weapons reveal themselves when activated and resemble something of a gleaming spear. They then fire powerful blasts at their target, commanded by it's defense system, it has relativistic due to Maverick's technopath resistant supercomputers and most anything hypersonic and sub lightspeed are stunned or vaporised on the spot. Aircraft are shot out the sky and disabled by the EMP effect of being flash converted into plasma. Windows are made of a form of transparent aluminium, and advanced blast resistant glass, able to easily take blast waves from high explosives. Distant targets or those around corners can be acquired via satellite and targeted with micromissile swarms deployable from various hidden turrets around the building itself, seeking out would-be-attackers who would decide attack, using very potent explosives.

Another notable use is the adjustable metamaterial cloak on the surface, this serves to deflect electromagnetic energy attacks, such as lasers and EMPs. Magnetic shielding is ineffective against most kinetic projectiles, however, an intense magnetic field can be generated in order to deflect particle beams and plasma base weaponry that might be used against it.

The rest of the arsenal among Maverick's security personnel consist of people among Maverick's divisions. ENCU (Extra-normal combat Units), Maverick Shadow Company, Infantry,and M.U.Os are all involved among their security forces.

"Night time, is the right time." -Navy Special Warfare patch

Numerous people have attempted to stealthily enter Maverick, only to be found and countered time and time again. Ex-Special forces, CIA and other masters of stealth serve as advisors and overseers to security council, with them being prepared for for a variety of the more stealthy extra-normal foes.

  • Cameras feature Omni-lense technology, allowing them to view most the entire electromagnetic spectrum and are made to auto-detect faster than sound objects
  • Scanners at the entrnace can detect not only non-metallic weapons, but anything using metamaterial microwave scanners. A single molecule of explosives can be found and any abnormality in DNA or the lack of it, can be detected by it's database. Anything unknown to it will alert security.
  • Invisible people and entities encounter pressure plates that allow their physical presence alone to give them away.
  • Motion sensors and various invisible lasers of a variety of spectrum detect slight sounds, shifts and vibrations in the air caused by one sifting through it . Even if they are unable to be detected by the electromagnetic spectrum. Even if they are completely silent and invisible to the electromagnetic spectrum.
  • Certain areas are lined with dense materials to combat phasing.
  • Micro-thin high strength carbon nanotube cords serve as a simple yet deadly defense against speedsters. Much, much stronger than conventional steel and simply too thin to be detected by the naked eye, they are simply still cords. Their sharpness means that even a normal human can run into them if they are active and cut themselves into pieces.
  • Security technology relies on nothing wireless and is highly EMP resistant. Meaning trying to hack vital from outside the building, is fruitless. If one does manage to get inside, they'll find the constantly shifting Quantum Encryption difficult to hack.
  • Typical high powered defense turrets.
  • Extremely small vents, with similar detection systems.
  • Personnel are stationed in obvious places. The sewers are patrolled, vents are watched and there are guards on the rooftop, many of which lightly geared so as to be able to maneuver through them.
  • Most of all, guards being aware of the existence of teleporters, things existing in other dimensions and other such things. General knowledge of metahumans and typical magical abilities.
  • Security camera access outside of the building as well as Recon teams to keep track of all current happenings

Combined with the Arsenal and resources Maverick has at their disposal. They are very difficult to infiltrate overall.

Sometimes seemingly ever present in anywhere with infrastructure, Maverick stands by to deploy anywhere, launching men mentally ready to fight anything. Superhuman, god, demon, omnicidal maniac or otherwise. As powerful as their weapons are, pen and paper allow much of it to happen, some of the most vital being here.

OOC

  • Most general rules apply, though there are exceptions
  • The area around Maverick is open but the HQ is difficult and for some rather impossible to sneak into directly.
  • Maverick Arsenal part of my profile goes more in depth with weapons, equipment and resources, though it is incomplete.
  • Spying on the place is allowed, but expected relation.
  • PM if you wish to launch anything major here.
  • If outside the HQ, sell the guards and don't make them exactly look like idiots. That said the ordinary guards are not infallible. Inside the HQ, you can definitely expect retaliation.
  • If I control the soldiers, then do not auto hit them. They will otherwise function as player characters if I step in with them.
  • Do not control the Shadow Company or ENCU. Only the ordinary guards if you have to.
  • Expect the security measures to be added onto more and more,and for this place to be frequently updated. And so are the weapons and technology on profile.
  • Mr. Bold has a secret profile within my blogs that details his true abilities.
  • Purpose of this place is to mostly be a place of business.
  • I am open to constructive criticism, ideas, suggestion, general feedback and typical OOC tomfoolery :)

Thank you man! Gave me that sick Ghost Recon picture in a thread one day. I love it lol. That and you let me participate in an event that I can log in their canon.

People will be mostly adverse to that or even outright find it dangerous. But of course as long as he tells them all of his abilities, infantry should be fine with it and could probably use stuff like that the most. They might however get a little suspicious of it at first because they're paranoid.

One bonus is that a lot of their unconventional guns are too friggin' heavy to lift. So you might find a few of them over in the "Small arms" section of my profile to your favor, if you want to use guns anyway.

He would be fine with explaining his history, as well as his people from some of the history books found in today's time. Some details will be omitted to keep secrecy, but general know-how and relevant details will be explained in full. Also he will ask for consent before he heals them, or should they want to get boosted whether temporarily/permanently.

Tim needs to be 'trained' with firearms, he's not that good. Also, he can boost them so that they may be lifted should they wish. His job is to make life easier for the team.

Name wise, just call him Timur or Skirmish

@maverick_6:

Timur arrived at the front gates, announcing his presence to the guards that he wished to meet the man in charge. As a sign of trust he removed his blade gauntlet which housed Noble Savage, and also removed his stakes/monomolecular wire bolas upon reaching the security clearance.

He actually asked the guards to frisk him so that they know that he is unarmed, in his wallet is a ticket to the Mayweather v Pacquiao fight on May 3rd and he kindly asked to have it back and the other thing is a packet of Slim Jims with Macho Man Randy Savage on the wrapper.

The man can remove his weapons but he cannot remove his armor, as they are his muscles honed from decades of battle. Fighting on the streets do not yield the thrill that he got from slashing in the fields of war, and after reading up on Jack Churchill's biography he wanted to try out the PMC life.

@ult_nerx:

"Hey man, you hear about that Pacquiao vs Mayweather fight? Glad to be gettin' my watch out now." "Heh heh. Yeah. Though...you know Mayweather is gonna win, right?" "You know your really selling Pac-" "Look alive. Here he comes."

Seeing him coming on the street cameras, the men see a large burly man approaching the building, requesting to come in. "Alright. One sec. Just let us look you over." They scan him, generally garnering his molecular composition in order to gauge something of his durability, strength, power origins and all the like. Most importantly, they scan for high levels of any kind of energy or energy abnormalities in the man, to make sure he isn't a walking blockbuster, or something similar. As far as their devices could tell, he wasn't. "Alright. Go on." Only something of a 25 tonner or so. Classed at a tier 3 Superhuman, and added promptly to Maverick's databases. The men continue their watch, as the man leaves.

"You think he'd be pissed if I kinda took those tickets?" "Very."

He walked in and as he went inside, he gathered many stares from the civilians in the area. All of whom gawked at him as he walked in. The woman pointed him to someone who approached him. A dark skinned man with neatly tied dreads and an assault rifle on his back. Nemaz was in full body armor at the moment. "Come with me."

He was lead away from people in general, and lead to a soft interview room. There was a desk and two couches, and the man gestured him to have a seat. "I am hardly the CEO of this place, but I am the one who often handles matters...like this. I suppose. Now, why don't you explain, who you are, and why you are here? Are you here for a job?"

@maverick_6:

Some of them are also into the big thing, as he can hear them and so far bets are leading in on Jr over the Pinoy. Timur just watches it because it is one of the few things that reminded him of the good days, but without the carnage and anguish that follows over those who cannot defend themselves.

Unlike the TSA which got him into trouble these men and women are professionals, and they are in possession of his equipment. The Gauntlet must be carried by machines or at least several un-enhanced people as it is heavy enough to cause hernia on baseline humans.

He hopes that his tickets are still inside his wallet, it is not a matter of the price but rather at the speed in which they sold out. Even with his powers he cannot undo the force of sports fans. Everything vanished in under a minute and he was the 75th guy to grab a seat.

Most people in this facility are civilians, they don't smell of blood or combat and their blood feels lukewarm in comparison to the ones in unique outfit. Like the warrior which told him to follow, but instead of a sword he has one of those point-shooty things on the back.

Upon taking the seat and making eye contact he explains his situation simply; "My name is Timur. I wish to join this soldier for hire life, it is the thing that connects me to my past as a member of a raiding party."

@ult_nerx:

The two men did have some trouble wielding the gauntlet. Though they were well trained, it was difficult for them to bring it more than chest level. It easily weighed more than an actual person did, and it was placed along the floor with the rest of the man's things. "Really wanna steal from a guy who carries these around like it ain't crap?" "

"Well, this is rather..sudden. I highly doubt that you could start today. It isn't like you scheduled an appointment." But there was no need to make the man disagreeable, not when there was potential benefit. It was why he was able to be seen so quickly.

Nemaz goes into a desk, and takes out a paper. "Well clearly, you are no ordinary man. You would say that you have superhuman abilities of some kind, yes? Well" He pulls out a paper, a book to press on and a pen then hands it over to the man.

"Can you write? Preferably in English, Japanese, Somali, Arabic, Mandarin Chinese, French, Spanish, Portuguese or Latin...?" Man people had come into there, unable to read or write, and it wouldn't surprise him to know that. He knew many people like that when he was a child.

If he'd reply yes, Nemaz would tell him to write down every single power and ability he had, and describe in the best of detail to his ability. This will help the man be grouped as well as see if his abilities and his very nature are "compatible" with the business. A few destructible ones often threaten to flip the building itself. They would rather a controllable man then a wild reckless monster who would only cause collateral damage and jeapordize the mission. Or who try to be "hero" and halt them when they do more questionable things. Something all too common for such people. To exert their own will.

"I see. Well, I must know about you, somewhat. Raiding party? How old are you? Decades? Centuries? A few Millennia?" He says as he calmly takes a seat and gazes upon the man with is rather straight neutral eyes. Nemaz keen on listening to the man's heartbeat with his own hearing, to keep track of his mental state at all times. "Or are you from another dimension, or something of the sort...?"

@maverick_6:

Timur doesn't mind waiting for their decision, he wasn't the impatient man who would tear apart a horse for waiting an appoint. He can sit as long as they want him to or even sleep in a garden near their premises, its nothing new. He just wants this real bad, but should they decline he would be fine with their decision. Truth is that he is someone who is good at hitting hard. Hero doesn't really fit with the definition people have in the modern era, back in his time all he had to do is to swing a blade toward the neck of a serpent. Now the only serpents in the city belong in the subway.

His ears heard the air conditioning unit, his nose smells the scent of fresh clothes, his skin can feel the plastic armrest on the chair, his tongue rolls inside to wrestle the last chunk of dried meat, his eyes traced the musculature of the one in front of him. Him too a beast clad in human skin. "I would apologize for the lack of formality in my approach, but there wasn't many others offering the same level of quality that you have. My choices are very limited."

"I am just an old man from an older time," with the paper slid from the other side of the desk he wrote as one would with a fountain pen, a traditional letterform fashioned with loops and links. It was written in english, some of the words are dated and the structure of the paper are comparable to those seen in museums.

He wrote about his powers, and several applications. Two of the most detailed ones are outlined in combat and non combative abilities, he gave out the specs of his destructive capabilities but this is merely limited to what he can do with the aid of his blade. Non combat begins with his proxy ability, namely the power to mend and bend the body in order to achieve maximum performance. Offering full restoration, modification and beyond. In the paper he drew a small figure of the human body, detailed in latin with several enhancements that can be done to optimise its functions with diet.

"If we put in time travel I would be somewhere over a millenia old, and I still recall the scent of the spices brought over from the middle east in the silk road."

@ult_nerx:

Nemaz watched the man as he talked. Not really writing anything down as he didn't need to. He seemed polite, well mannered, calm. Everything that would belay his savage appearance and description of himself was displayed. The use of higher edicate was appealing, especially with how he described his age. Even more impressive was the sort of resume he handed over to Nemaz, him reading it as he continued to listen to the man speak.

"I see..." Was his reply all of it as he looked it all over, and set it down. "Well Mister Timur, I think there is place for you here. You'd best make an infantryman." He says as he stands up and takes a knife from it's sheath. "Damascus Steel. Not the fake, modern wave-patterned blade they attempt to sell today. Genuinely reproduced. Steel used to make swords of exquisite quality." He says rather casually and suddenly throwing it into the table in front of the man.

"It is undeniable to say that close combat is of greater relevance to war then what most soldiers would think. With the increase in abnormal blades and abnormal things with blades. As well as the genuine favor of things with close combat. You seem ideal for helping infantry units against larger targets, as well as support." Sometimes, simply hitting something hard was all that was needed. Indeed, it was Maverick's philosophy. It was how they dealt with higher level threats. Simply hit it harder.

"While I can't hire you now, I think is place for you here. Perhaps you can even aid in the instruction of those with such weapons. We have actually been planning on producing some for our soldiers for some time. And you bring much needed skills to the table, even if you cannot teach it." He says folding up the paper and placing it in his pocket.

"Do you have method of contact? Or perhaps an address or your place of residence. I will alert you to the decision by tomorrow morning. "

@maverick_6:

"If possible I would also like to serve as a combat medic, besides point duty as I would like to assist in many ways that would fit by abilities. I would not want to solely focus on combat aspects and deprive squad-mates of useful benefits. " front line duty has been his heart since the earliest days of his raids, when he was a but child goaded with dreams of glory, a banquet fit for the king of gods and enough women to fit a giant's arms. However with changing times brings up changing demands, and he had discovered a long time ago that his fighting abilities do have more utility purposes than his elders had originally told him.

Timur caught the blade before it pins on the table, as that would be a waste of good furniture and examined its immaculate design. It smells of a virgin blade, waiting to plunge deep into a warm torso and it wasn't quite like swinging one of those blades on horseback while chasing down roman soldiers. Quality wise it is the closest thing he felt, and they have the weight distribution right. This little soldier is battle ready though, and would serve proud to whomever decides to wield it. By his estimation it should be enough to cleave a bull into two halves. "If you want I can make you a blade or perhaps an axe , the likes of which past empires have conquered the world in. Also I can assist in training."

"Not only do I hit hard but I can make things, 'softer' for the rest of the team as well" as in his experience his physique is relatively average, in comparison to the myriad of enhanced beings that existed in the world as of now. What he can offer is a means to render their supernatural defenses obsolete, essentially removing the gap between man and god. As the saying goes, if it bleeds it can be killed. Timur is a measure that guarantees that it bleeds, killing can be done by him or his teammates.

Pager, or beeper or whatever it is people call them. He has one of them and he jots down the contact number on the same piece of paper given before. "I am free, and if you need assistance all you need to do is send a message to this peculiar device. It buzzes."

@ult_nerx:

Nemaz had his back turned to the man as he seemingly looked off, but grinned widely when he caught the dagger. It actually would be a waste of good furniture, now that he think's about it.

"I like your mentality. You don't wish to work alone, and wish to help the team do things efficiently. They can use all the help they can get at times, however, you may wish to note that taking care of the men will mean they take care of you. You would be surprised in how useful a competent, skilled and well equipped squad can truly be. I recall a few recanting a tail where an AI threw a skyscraper at them. Must have been quite the rush..."

He holds his hand up to recieve the knife. Should the man return it, Nemaz will catch it by the blade, clamping two fingers down on the flat ends as he holds it within his hand, twirling it idly for a moment before putting it back in it's sheath. "As for the offer, I may take you up soon. I've been looking for something to stand up to adamantium." He takes the buzzer.

"Expect a buzz from me. Soon. That's about it for tonight, Mr. Timur. Oh, and I prefer to referred to as Nemaz." He extends his hand. "It's been a pleasure..."

----Outside---

"Nope. I just can't see it man. I just can't see Pacquiao getting past mayweather's defense. Guy has been boxing and blocking since he was baby." "Pacquiao got hands and pressure like nobody's ever seen man." "But he's been knocked by worse. Like Marqeuz..." "You can only play stinker for so long." "Pacquiao is gonna wear himself out and then get knocked the f*** out. End of story."

The man's tickets are indeed in his wallet. His things are ready to be picked up for when he is ready to leave.

The Princess of Mewni had been darting back and forth across the United States of America as she attempted to find a suitable domain for her stay on Earth.

Sometime during her travels she believed to have befriended a person affiliated with Maverick so here she was now at its HQ, it's been days since she last saw him and she was wondering if he could assist her with a place to stay, as she waited out front Maverick's Head Quaters she paced back and forth while chewing the top of her wand in contemplation.

I don't want to ruin his day or interrupt his work with something mundane but I also can't be jumping state to state anymore

she pulled the indestructible wand from her mouth as she sighed "Maybe if I wait out here long enough I could catch him getting off from work" Ultra Girl then sat on a tree stump several blocks away from the building as she stared at MHQ.

@maverick_6: It was around eleven o'clock at night. The air was still, the gentle breeze had a cool touch to the skin, it was nice. The quite night was abruptly interrupted by the helicopter landing on the rooftop of Maverick Incorporated. The chopper had a long ride all the way form San Valentin. Upon landing, Sodra Die Mens steps out of the helicopter.

His leg leg sustained critical damage in a battle not too long ago. It was scratched and dented up. It had a welding mark around the thigh, as if it was severed recently and put back on recklessly. Greeted by two guards, they ask his reason of being here. Looking at his damaged leg, he chuckles "Repairs." with a sarcastic face on.

Bringing him to a lab, the cyborg his set on a rough bench. A female technician looks at the leg. "This will take some time. With the separation here, your wires, gears, and biotech liquid tubesall are banged up pretty badly." dismantling the leg, revealing a mess of wires and metal bits. Rubbing his eyes with his human hand, "Fine, but do you think I can talk to Mr. Bold? I have some favors I need."

@maverick_6:

"I usually party up, it makes the tales funner when they sing about more than one hero doing their deed. Its the kind of stuff that kids look up to and adults fight over during drinking arguments. Slaying a monster is good, but spreading the spoils with battle brothers would be even better. " from experience, this ranges from the good and the bad. Angels who brought food to malnourished land to a band of demons descending from the hills to create an ocean of fire.

Timur simply placed the flat side to the table and slid it as the man did with the documents, and it will be on the hilt-side to prevent injury. No need to impale the nice gentleman against the office chair, he isn't a messenger of an invading force just a warrior on another time. "I wouldn't be arrogant to say that I can take a hit from that, but It wouldn't be to far to say that i didn't have measures against it"

"Thanks for the hospitality, Nemaz"

@ultra_girl_:

"Bradshaw..." A voice said tauntingly, as if in his head. He was being communicated with via a tattoo located on the temple that read and responded to his thoughts. "I see someoneone in the city, one who you are familiar with. The blonde one known as "Ultra-Girl." The one who seems to have grown a tad fond of you even, from what we have seen."

Bradshaw was a man of high position in Maverick as he was one of the main governing figures of the soldiers itself. However, he actually was very rarely at the headquarters itself. It was actually a rather lucky thing for Ultra-Girl that he was here.

Here, Bradshaw was actually rarely present, often traveling the world to where he was needed, but he was apart of the security counsel, drafting idea to counter the ever possible threat of a variety of foes attempting to enter. They prepared for those with superhuman strength to attempt to simply attempt to ram in. Speedster who would attempt to run in. Magical and otherwise simply teleporting in, with that being all too common. With him having faced, fought and killed all these kinds of opponents, it would be no surprise they'd want him to be the one who drafts the defenses to be installed and train the men there in some of his off time to combat them. He very prepared to face most whatever threat would come his way.

However, he was hardly prepared for his own mind, and for the encounter with this girl who did so resemble his daughter. He felt himself growing "soft", growing weak. The time spent with S.T.R.I.K.E, this and the more superhuman Maverick is becoming has actually lead to him placing value on a few select abnormally powered individuals, a very small few. One of those had been Ultra-Girl, and another was one who had garnered his respect, by the alias of Vocal. This however, didn't change his overall outlook of metahumans and mutants, and the effects they had on the world in general, with the exception of some. However, he became more at war with himself with killing all of them. Trying to justify all that does now, things that even his fellow employees and a few his squad mates made them think of him as less human then mutants and metahumans he hunted, fought, captured and killed.

"Perhaps you may call this a hunch, but it seems she is here, waiting. You arranged to meet her?"Nemaz asks him over the "techno-telepathy" network. "No. I dont' know why she's here, or what or who she's waiting for..." "I suspect it is you. Now, I am not going to tell you to burn any bridges. Indeed, she might even have some use in the fu-"

"Shut the f*** up."Bradshaw mentally cuts the line.

He was out after a few hours, the sun setting as he would arrive inconspicuously in civilian clothes. He was wearing Jeans, a ballcap, boots and a hoodie that read "USMC" on the front and "Pain is weakness leaving the body."

"Ultra Girl? ...The hell you doing here?" He asks, not sounding angry, more curious as to why she is waiting and who she is waiting for.

"And...hi..." He trailed off awkwardly, he had forgotten to greet her.

@jwalser3

"I'm not too sure..." The technician says, she didn't go that high up usually, and she could only imagine what it would take to talk to such a busy man. "Why is that? I'm not sure if you'll see him or if maybe you'll catch him walking around. Why would you want to meet him? Do you have an appointment?"

All the while near by, Moya was listening in the conversation as she sat her office. Making a few...preparations.

@ult_nerx:

The man takes the knife as he simply hands it over, as he twirls it momentarily then sheathes it. He smirks a bit at the man. "The pleasure is all mine. Enjoy the rest of your day..." He had nothing more to discuss at the moment. He reclined back in his seat, the door open. Their discussion was finished.

It wasn't until the next day that the man was eventually approved, and hired to be able to work in conjunction with a squadron of high trained infantry. Indeed, he and a few other may soon receive a mission....

@maverick_6: "Oh hi Bradshaw!" the ever so optimistic blonde replied back practically swatting the awkward moment away. Giving a short pause while blushing she looked to the ground while kicking some grass gently

"I'm in a bind, I have no money nor place to stay any more and old family friends here on Earth are unable to take me in" she stopped so Bradshaw could let the information sink it "they recommended that I go to Maverick HQ, and maybe just maybe I could get their help in exchange for magical expertise?" she looked up to him while giving a half hopeful smile

He moaned, rubbing his eyes with his fleshy hand. "I have the money to cover it all."

Sure. It can be surprisingly interesting. It would give me a chance to explain how that sector works and also you can have idle talks with the workers about stuff.

@ultra_girl_:

Bradshaw looked at the girl, thinking for a moment, but he was clearly very adverse to her living here. One could actually tell this when he spoke. He wasn't gonna willingly allow her here. It was a bit too risky with what he had heard.

Maverick isn't a place for little girls.

Bradshaw sighs as he stooped down towards her level, getting on one knee as he put both of his hands on her shoulders and looked her in the eyes with seemingly great intensity.. "Alright look, I can find you a place. But working here I'm not so sure about, you see-"

"Now, now..." Another voice says. Walking down a path near by off to the side, and coming up to stand up between the two was actually non other than the CEO of Maverick Incorporated itself. A rather large looking man in a suit who stood at somewhere around 6'4 and seemed to hide thick muscle under his suit. His forhead was rather large and he seemed optimistic in demeanor from the look on his middle aged face at the moment. Content and without much worry, as if he was satisfied with a lot of things.

He looked at her with warm expression as he simply flicked the cigarette away from her.

"So your the one I've heard so much about. Let me introduce myself. My name is Jonathan Bold. But you can just call me Mr. Bold." He says. Bradshaw looks towards him now, and stands up, looking towards the man who was his boss as he continues.

"I actually think that would do well at our corporation. It's not exactly an the same as a regular base like most people think it is, but I think we'd need someone like you to...help us with a few things in particular. I think we can arrange for you to do some work for us. In exchange, why don't I get you a place to live for as long as you're with us? Somewhere you just have however you want it to be...as long as it isn't destructive or disruptive. Whattya say?"

He says looking rather curiously at her. Bradshaw looked silent, but stern. He didn't want her to work there but clearly this girl's significance caused the CEO to step out of his office to come see her, and personally ask her to come work for them. Bradshaw had an idea of what the man was thinking, but he didn't like it. He stood with a fist clenched as he looked at her fervently. He never did finish what he had to say, but said nothing now.

They both awaited her answer.

------

@jwalser3

"Alright? Well, I'll call someone up and-"

"Not necessary..." A female says walking up. Wearing currently more secretarial clothing then her usual "Agent" look. Moya was decided to be one to see this monster-looking machine that they themselves helped to create. Though, to be honest, she's seen many monsters in the form of men. Some who walk within the walls of this building even.

"Let's take you off to get repairs, shall we?" She says looking him over. "Now. Before I go and sell you a group, Mr. Sondra, why don't you just tell me exactly what it is you need a group of troops." It was only reasonable that she would know, as Maverick was less inclined to do certain jobs. There was a story behind this and in essence, she would want to know exactly what it was that she would be throwing troops into. Unlike many mercenary groups, Maverick could afford to ask many questions. And they would, as more is at stake for a mess up because they are able to be known about by the public and would hate to be shunted into the spotlight.

But, they did have a business to run. And they have and will do questionable things if it's worth it and if they won't be noticed.
