The screens came online. The thrusters were ready. Sariaf'ca's hand shook as she neared the button that would begin this sordid destiny. She felt her heart wrench. Tugging and pulling, as if about to break. Something was wrong. So wrong and she knew it. War was linking into her mind telepathically. Both sharing in the same emotions for the first time in years. Her breath caught in her mouth, she could barely breath.
She slumped against the controls sweat running down her orange features. She could feel the uneasiness of the men. Of Cassidy, but most of all of Kain. Their memories and emotions linked to an extent. They knew something she did not. "What's...." She barely spoke, and looked up. On the screens she could see the readings of another ship. So close. She turned to look at it. And felt her body weaken in an instance. Tears rolled down her cheeks even before she understood what was happening.
Sariaf'ca She heard it, felt it on the very surface of he soul.
"Jean...." The words barely escaped her lips when she saw the sudden movement of the ship. And in an instant, it was gone. Crashed into an enemy ship. A ball of fire all that was left of the love of her life. Her body shook uncontrollably as she stood completely still. Shock, coursing through every inch of her body. Her mouth ajar. She was struggling now. She could barely breath. Her body asking, begging for a breath. For reprieve, from the torrent of emotions that would not let her get pass that image.
Her head suddenly jolted upward. Both hands balled into fists and a ear deafening scream escaping her purple lips. "JEEEAAAAANNNNN!" She yelled in mourning. The ship shaking as she released her energies. A mixture of red, blue, black, all coursing and surrounding the alien warrior. Her body becoming a conduit of energy. The electronics around her crashing and exploding. Finally feeling came back into her numb body. Her numbed soul. She raced for the controls and terrifying determination in her jade colored eyed. "Go War. Go." War moved in response to her words.
Sariaf'ca quickly ran out of the control room. An emissary of speed and stealth. She passed by Kain, by all the rest of the men. In mere seconds she was outside in the front lines of the enemy fire. Already weapons and guns firing against her. She moved like lightning. Barely there, she rushed through the middle of ships. Her strength intensified by her pain by her mourning. She flew through the middle of ships, ripping them in half, and grasping the Bhastein scum that dared try to stop her. Her hands moving as quickly as that of an assassin. Necks snapped. Bodies broken in half. Blood and guns, guts, hearts, all splayed around her. Her eyes had lost their brightness. They had lost their light. She was but an empty vessel. She moved onto the next ship. And carried out her ghastly vengeance on the Bhastein. Ship after ship, until she had annihilated and murdered hundreds of Bhasteins and dozens of ships.
Sariaf'ca stopped in the middle of her tirade. She had seen War had passed through the line. "Good." She muttered to herself. Her head turned emotionless towards the nearest star. Her body glowing brightly with the light of it, channeling and calling forth it's destructive power and beauty. Her mind filling with the images of her people. Her death. Jean. And his noble sacrifice.
She blinked, and when her eyes opened they were filled crimson and darkness, mixing in a beautiful but dangerous combination. The star's light swirled around the lone warrior, changing colors as it did so. No longer was it the white pure light of innocence it had exuded. It changed into darkness. Darkness that Sariaf'ca's own body was emitting. Through her eyes played all her pains. Her deepest pains and fears come to light. And the happiness she felt. Images of Jean kissing her softly, muttering his love for her. Images of when their bodies met in the most primordial and passionate dance any two beings could share. Her whispers of his name as they made love. As they gave each other all the love they could share. Images of the dance that had created this life in her. And thoughts of knowing that he was gone. That she and her child were left alone. One last single tear rolled down her cheek. Her body giving off a Maelstrom of winds. Her flaming red hair blowing all over the place. Sariaf'ca had lost her soul in that moment.
"Jean..." She muttered. The last words Sariaf'ca could manage. Her body jerked upward, darkness flowing from her eyes, from her mouth, ears, her entire body. It engulfed her like a blaze. It melded onto her. Her skin changing from the orange that was so loved by her beloved to pure darkness. A cocoon of darkness enveloped her form. Talons growing in her hands. Eyes turning from black and red to terrifying white before closing. Her hair now as white as snow, as well. Large black wings growing from her shoulder blades, causing a deafening scream. They opened with a dark beauty, coming around her form and covering her. Fangs piercing their way through her mouth, blood flowing down in rivets from it.
A shockwave tore through the area. Bhastein ships, exploding in unison. The cocoon had opened. Revealing, not the once lovely orange warrior. But a haunting dark beauty. Wings as large and regal as that of an angel, but made for a devil. Fangs, which lay against her lips, as she smiled a sickening smile. Long red talons, which now replaced her fingernails. She flapped her wings and came towards the rest of the ships. The dark warrior smiling in anticipation. With one warriors cry, she released all of her energy. Torrents of darkness blasting from her body, causing the simultaneous destruction of hundreds of ships. The cries of fear and mercy, causing a sadistic laughter.
"I am the avatar." She spoke.
