If you saw Joseph's childhood you'd see a very happy young boy with plenty of friends and loving adoptive parents. You'd never guess that such a boy would become a serial killer, and it was indeed an unlikey series of events that led him there.

Jospeh loved to be the center of attention and enjoyed performing magic and acrobatics for others, so he became a clown under the name of Joey. This was not a very profitable career but his parents supported him and he couldn't have been happier. He unknowingly destroyed this life when he bought a DNA testing kit one year, curious about his biological heritage which he knew nothing about. Several weeks after this he arrived for a children's party only to find the house open yet desolate. He walked in, seeing decorations but no children or parents at all. When coming to the main dining area of the house he found a cake, and upon walking up to inspect it to his shock it opened and a sudden blinding light and deafening sound sent him reeling back. Masked, armed men came in from nowhere to quickly take him away, screaming and kicking so frantically his pointed shoes flew comically off his feet as he was roughly shoved into some dark vehicle.

Joseph never learned the results of his DNA test but a certain organization did and took an interest in him. It seemed he was a very special man indeed, one of the few that could possibly survive what they had planned for him. He was given multiple injections, surgeries, hypnosis sessions, all to transform him into something deadly and no longer human.

After awhile of these traumatic events Joseph seemingly stopped showing signs of distress. Instead he began to laugh and grin at his captors with his deforming face. His dark skin was starting to turn white like ashes and his hair became green, his mouth stretched unnaturally wide as he cackled at his own jokes, even as he was being operated on, given some new organ with his ribcage opened up or injected with mutagenic fluid that felt like fire in his veins. His new abilities may have let him resist the sedatives but not the pain. No, he laughed that off because Joseph and Joey had never been the same guy, and Joey was a lot stronger. Joseph would groan and moan over a papercut but if Joey was performing one of his amazing feats of acrobatics and took the expression "break a leg" a bit too literally, it didn't matter how much blood and bone was showing, this clown was never the frowning or crying sort. Method acting is one hell of a drug.

The transformation was a success, even more so than intended, but you know how these kinds of stories have to end. Man creates monster, monsters escapes, usually slaughters everyone on the way out. That was just chapter one for Joey, though. Now that he's feeling better than ever he's got so many new tricks and jokes he'd love to show people. Let's just hope that party pooper Joseph isn't still in there somewhere, trying to spoil the fun. I guess we'll see about that.
