@cailleach: @orange_water: "Yeah that's what I was thinking, but don't worry I'm disappointed that it didn't bring us closer to the perp. At the same time, I can't help be feel relieved that we're not fighting someone who can control the weather." Wes pause to race a light that was coming up barely making it past on time. He could hear the sound of a horn from the guy he had blocked off as he sped off towards the docks.

"Woo made it," He said before turning to Will, "Your right about contacting the ex, though. See if you can convince the police department to depart with the lady's address and while you're there can you tell them to email me the case files of any unsolved missing persons report in the last five years."

"I do, actually. I want to go to the last place the kids were sighted and see if Chuck can't pick up a scent. It's a few days old but he has a good nose, hopefully I can work backwards from there. The last victims could lead us to the first. In fact that's most likely based on my experience."

@wes_the_hog: @cailleach: * Before I could respond to Wes I noticed him cut off a car and speed up to avoid the light grabbing the car handle and getting ready just in case a car hit us.*"Okay I'll call the police station and ask for the information so you think the kidnappings been going on for a couple years?"* I start dialing the number of the police station on my phone.*

* The other line would pick up and I said*" Yes hello I need to talk to Detective Graie and talk to her about the serial kidnapping case," I said into the phone I need to update her and ask for the information we needed.

The phone connected, and a secretary listened patiently to Landon's request before transferring his call. "Alison Graie," she answered after a couple rings. Apparently the surname was just pronounced as 'gray,' same as the color, despite the fact that someone in her ancestry somewhere evidently had a tempestuous affair with excess vowels. She listened patiently to the information update and the requests for more informaiton. "I can email you a record of unsolved missing persons cases, certainly, but you should know that the department has already looked in to that and we're fairly certain there's nothing linking the old cases with the current ones. I don't have any objections to your looking through it, though. I'd also be happy to provide you with a transcript of the department's interview with Mr. Rudolph's ex-wife, but she is not under suspicion and would prefer not to be contacted directly by any third parties. Is there anything else you'd like?"

@wes_the_hog: @admirallogic: @phant4sm: @orange_water:@anonym

This information was requested by one of the investigators. It is available to any of you who choose to acquire it through the PD.

Missing Persons Report, previous 5 years:

-Includes an expected amount of unsolved cases, not too few or too many. None strike you as being of particular interest.

(OC I'm just gonna go ahead and say it's a good idea but there's nothing related in there and I'm not going to spend a lot of time writing it out or having you wade through it if it's unconnected anyway).

Transcript of police interview with Katie Harwick (former wife of Andy Rudolph)

PD: "Ms. Harwick, can you state your name for the record?"

KH: "Katherine Harwick."

PD: "Thank you. And you consent to this session being recorded?"

KH: "Yes, I do."

PD: "Thank you, Ms Harwick. As you know, your ex-husband was reported missing on March 2, when he did not show up at work. He was last seen on the 28th of February. Do you have any idea of his wherabouts in the intervening time?"

KH: "He said he was planning to go fishing somewhere. I only know that because we swapped weekends with the kids - he was going to have them the next weekend instead."

PD: "Was he planning on going with anyone?"

KH: "He didn't mention it. Often he goes alone."

PD: "If he intended to go alone, was there a reason he would have chosen that particular weekend rather than one where he wasn't scheduled with your children?"

KH: "No, but he does sh- Um. Stuff like that all the time. Even when we were married he was always running off to the lake by himself."

PD: "Did you resent it?"

KH: "Of course I did. He'd tell me at the last minute he was going off fishing and I'd be stuck with the kids again. It's half the reason I ended things."

PD: "And, you understand I have to ask this, but where were you during that time?"

KH: "It's fine. I was here - at home. You can talk to the neighbors about it if you want. I don't mind."

PD: "I understand, Ms. Harwick. Is there anything else Mr. Rudolph had said to you recently? Any new people in his life?"

KH: "Not that he mentioned. I don't know. I don't think he really wanted people in his life. He was happiest alone."

@anonym

"That's a decent idea. I would guess that the scent would be relatively faint, though. They were reported missing several days ago. I suppose that means you better get going before it gets any worse."

Phantasm lingered around the area, hugging to shadows cast by the trees and walls primarily as he got to the area where the buses would stop. Then Phantasm took a stroll around the pick up / drop off zone for the cars, before taking a silent walk through the neighborhood. He took in all the variables of the surroundings, the neighborhood, and the probability of the kidnapper having enough time to catch the kids alone. Were they walking home from school? Were they with someone?

After about an hour of snooping around, Phantasm returned to his hotel room, and gotten dressed up, deciding to pay a visit back to Detective Graie, he took a taxi to the precinct. Getting out the taxi, he headed into the building, and asked for the detective at the counter, "I want to speak to Detective Alison Graie, is she in?"

Tristan nodded, politely said his goodbyes, and turned to leave. He walked outside and down the block before turning down an alley and materializing the Leering Ace, something he hadn't voluntarily done in ages. The monochrome carnival freak wasn't his smiling self.

"You let her go?" he asked.

Tristan shrugged. "I have no reason to suspect her except my gut, and the behavior of my dog. There really isn't anything that can be done, especially if she suspects that I feel that way."

Ace shook his head. "Are you really that dense? Your gut--that is to say, me--is always right. I've never led you wrong before and I'm telling you, that woman is bad news."

Tristan got an odd smirk that made Ace realize he'd underestimated his old friend. "I know. I've dealt with enough metahumans to know that."

Ace waited a moment. "And? what are you going to do?"

"Nothing." Ace nearly objected, but Trist interrupted him. "You are."

The clown stared blankly at him. "I am what?"

"Going to do something. She knows me, my face, and undoubtedly my suspicions, if only based on Chuckles' reactions to her. She doesn't know you."

LA stared. "You want me to do what now?"

Tristan sighed. "Who's dense now? I want you to keep an eye on her. Befriend her. If she's supernatural she'll know you are too, but the least you can do is keep track of her movements. Besides, you've got nothing better to do and I've got another lead to follow."

Ace almost argued again, but decided that would be a bad idea. And if everything went well, this might get him back in Tristan's good graces. "Alright. What do you want me to do?"

Maple Grove

Tristan's black Dodge Charger pulled up in front of the Keller residence. After putting his car into park, he removed his white sweatshirt and replaced it with a black leather jacket. More practical for keeping out the cold, he reasoned, and also a tad more professional. He chose to leave Chuckles in the car for now. It would be warmer, and the dog was fairly likely to unsettle the Keller parents. It was going to be bad enough with Tristan's faux smile.
After making sure his wallet was in his pocket, he got out of the car and went to the front door before ringing the bell. He tried to frown between the scars on his face, a trick that seemed to make his strange demeanor less unsettling.

MPD Station

No Caption Provided

Back in Minneapolis, a tall, lean, young man with bright red hair, clear blue eyes, and an oddly conic rainbow nose entered the police station, looking around as if to find someone. He seemed insecure and out of place, but unfazed by the cold weather, if his casual clothes were any indicator. He was apparently disappointed to see that he missed the briefing, and rubbed the back of his neck as he worked up the courage to ask someone what he had missed.

@orange_water: Wes nodded his head processing the new information. "Alright then lets head to the docks then, and would you mind emailing those case files over to me. I'll look into them later, doubt there's much or anything there, but I just want to make sure."

Wes told his partner his email address the turned the corner to the docks. "Anyway do you want to investigate the boat first or head straight for the lake." He asked Will as they were approaching their destination.

@phant4sm:

Phantasm was given a few minutes to wait, then escorted by a nondescript officer up to an office which bore Detective Graie's name on the door. She glanced up from where she was seated behind her desk, gave the escort a dismissive nod, and waved a hand in the general direction of a chair. "Have a seat. What brings you here?"

The office itself was fairly simple, a couple chairs in front of a desk and the one behind it that she was sitting in, a computer that probably hadn't been top of the line when it had been purchased and certainly wasn't now, but nonetheless seemed functional. There were a couple stacks of paper on the desk in a set of trays labeled "ignore today," "ignore this week," and "ignore." The bottom tray, labeled "actually important" was empty.

A whiteboard on one wall was scribbled on, mostly information about the victims. A bulletin board on the opposing wall was tacked with photographs of the missing people, printed out from an office printer somewhere with imperfect inking, but were good enough to provide an reasonable basis for recognition. Each bore neatly written notes with name, age, and date and location missing.

@anonym:

Maple Grove

The Keller residence was one of those quiet two-story suburban homes with a nice lawn but not a lot of it, a detached two-car garage taking up most of the backyard, and a swingset taking up most of what was left. A couple of large pots in the front suggested that there would probably be flowers planted there when summer came; right now they were lumpy with snow, though the driveway and walk were carefully shoveled and salted. The door was answered shortly by a worried looking woman dressed in the sort of clothes that suggested she'd just pulled something on that morning without thinking about it. Her hair was tied back in a ponytail, and she didn't wear any makeup. "Yes?" she inquired, "Who are you?"

@orange_water: "Alright lets split up then, take my phone number though in case you find what the victim did and the perp goes after you." Wes stopped the car and got out throwing the keys to Will. "You might finish before me so if I'm not done by 6ish you can take the car and head back to the city. I'll catch a cab or something. I plan on taking the boat apart to see if anything at all can be found, that might take a while."

Not waiting for his partner's response Wes headed to find whoever owned the boat and see if he could take a look at it.

An officer led Xanders down the hall towards a room with the name Alison Graie engraved in a name plate stuck to the door. The officer knocked on the door and led him in, after which he left on prompt notice. Xanders nodded towards the detective before sitting down in front of her.

Xanders looked at the white board for a brief moment, paying only minor attention to the Keller children's pictures and names, before returning his attention to the detective, "Thank you for seeing me. I don't think I told you my name. Xanders Red, it is a pleasure to make your acquaintance Detective, I have a couple things I want to know about the report of the missing children. Were they walking home alone, or in a private OR hired car, or a bus? In any case, I want the name of the driver, or if they were walking home, the name of the accomplice or person that usually accompanied them, along with their address of residence, both the Keller children and concerned personnel. I'm assuming you already checked all of this though, so a copy of your investigation would be appreciated.

I also intend to head over to Duluth tomorrow. An investigation report for the disappearance of the man on the boat would also be appreciated. There might be clues you overlooked, or fresh leads I may be able to dig up. So if you can get me these, it'd be much appreciated, thanks."

"I'd rather you didn't," Mrs. Keller answered, "I don't want everyone in my house. If you have something you want to talk about, we can talk here." From her tone, he was hardly the first person to stop by. She was probably sick of people barging in and infringing on her privacy given all she was going through.

@wes_the_hog:

The boat in question was owned by Mr. Reynolds himself, and was currently docked amid some others. He was able to go look around on it - it was a small motorboat, good for a person or a couple people to go fishing, but certainly not a yacht or anything like that. The boat itself held various bits of fishing tackle and not much else, but a police report available at the marina (they kept a copy on file since people kept asking about it) said that when the police had gone over the boat it had held a couple of fishing rods as well and a cooler that had contained most of a six-pack of beer and a ham sandwich. Those items had since been removed, the expensive rod to the care of his ex-wife, and the beer and sandwich discarded. At least, the sandwich had been discarded, it was possible that the beer had been humanly disposed of. Or humanely. Either could be applicable.

Humans being what they were, everyone was immediately interested in helping out the investigator. Wes was therefore offered a lot of advice from various bystanders about the quality of fishing this time of year (not so good on the lake here unless you want perch, but not many walleyes), Mr. Reynolds' boat (not a bad rig for just a guy), fishing (don't bother buying them fancy lures, they aren't worth it), relationships (guy like you got a girlfriend?), beer (spawning a debate between various parties of the advantages and disadvantages of Miller versus Budweiser), and ham sandwiches. He was also advised to get a real parka, a boat of his own, and a nice girl to clean his fish for him.

Like that one Andy'd been talkin' to before he'd gotten in his boat. Real looker, that one. Not that there was much of her to look at, what with the parka and all. Shame, that.

@orange_water:

As Lake Superior was the largest lake in North America, it was quickly apparent that a visual scan wasn't going to get Landon very far on finding evidence. Nothing was immediately to be seen in the area around the docks, which he was able to cover in not too long, but if he intended to try to look through the whole lake, that would take months or years.

@phant4sm:

"Nice to meet you, Mr. Red," responded Detective Graie, with a hint of amusement. "All right. The Keller kids usually walk home, they only live a couple blocks away, but it was cold that day so Mrs. Keller was going to drive and pick them up. She waited at the school but they weren't there, so she drove back home to see if they'd walked back and she'd missed them, but there was no sign of them. That's when she called the police. Kids missing and this cold, we had officers out there in five minutes, couple of police dogs as well. We didn't find... anything. The dogs got the kids' scent around the school, near the playground, but they weren't able to track it anywhere. I feel like if they'd left on foot, the dogs should have gotten something, but I can't say for sure. There weren't any signs of a struggle anywhere, though, so if they went with someone, it was either willingly or really fast. No suspects for a kidnapping, the Kellers seem to be a pretty normal family, no bad divorces or skeletons in the closet that we've found. I can get you the report on Mr. Reynolds' boat, it wasn't much though. Short list of property matching what he had, no theft of any expensive items, and again, no sign of a struggle anywhere around there."

@cailleach: The off-handed comment about someone Andy had talked to immediately caught Wes attention. "Wait who was Andy talking to and where did she go after he left on his boat?" He asked the crowd. By itself, Andy being in a relationship wouldn't garner too much attention, but his ex had said there had been no mention of anyone and that Andy liked it on his own.

There wasn't anything he could find on the boat, but maybe this woman could be the lead that they needed.

@wes_the_hog: @cailleach: Annoyed by the fact I couldn't it was time to rethink my strategy,"Okay now Landon how are gonna do this yes I could go top speed across this lake while using my "radar" ability it should allow me to cause a ripple in the water sensing anything that touched water including anything on the seafloor but it will cause me to gain the attention of those above," I stopped and thought about this real quick and decided," yeah let's do it we need to find these people."

I sink further into the lake hoping it will lessen the impact of the ripple above and race to the middle of the lake creating a large ripple in the water while also turning on my "radar" sense to pick up any foreign objects or hopeful evidence that could be down in the lake.

Most of the bystanders didn't know much about that, but one of them was quite definite that he'd seen Andy talking with someone earlier in the day on the docks. He hadn't been around when the police had been doing interviews, and hadn't thought it important enough to mention. She hadn't been someone he'd known, and they hadn't talked for too long. A few minutes, before he'd left on his boat and she'd walked off, he thought towards the parking lot, but he wasn't sure.

@anonym:

Mrs. Keller seemed to relax a bit that he wasn't going to try to push his way in. Likely she'd seen too much of pushy people, there for the story and not actually doing much to help. "They got to school fine. I dropped them off that morning, and there wasn't any problem. The school said they were there all day. Usually they walk home - it's just a couple blocks, but it was cold, so I drove out to pick them up, but they weren't there. I waited for a while, but didn't see them anywhere, so I drove back home, I thought maybe I'd just missed them. They weren't home, though. I waited a bit, but when they weren't home after an hour, I called the police."

Trist nodded thoughtfully before continuing. "Were any of their friends at the carpool pickup? Perhaps they saw what happened." Any suspicious persons or things, children tended to pick up. Even if the kids had already been questioned, they could be hiding something for some reason.

@orange_water: @cailleach: Confident that he got the information that he could out of the boat and the crowd, Wes head back to the car to wait for his partners trying to think through what the new information could mean for the case.

He had a feeling that this lady factored into the case somehow. Whether that be she had also gone missing and confirming Will's theory, she might be the kidnapper, or she might just know something about Andy that would help. After entering the new info into his journal he looked around waiting. It was really getting cold now, maybe he should get a parka he thought crossing his arms so his left hand would warm up the rest of him.

@orange_water@cailleach: After a couple minutes and plenty of harsh words said about the weather Wes finally noticed Will heading to the car. "Yeah, something that my turn out pretty big. The boat itself was empty, but the residents had some things to say. One of them being that just before Andy left in his boat he met with a woman in a parka. I don't know much about her other than that she was apparently attractive, talked briefly to Andy and then left to the parking lot. It's not much, but it's more than we had when we got here. What about you?" Wes said hopping in the car grateful to get out of the cold.

Reaching into the back he pulled out some gloves and a beanie he stored on the seat. It wasn't much, but it would help with the cold. He thought it got pretty cold up in Seattle but this was no joke. His next stop on his hunt for the corpse parts would be the Carribean, yeah that'd be nice.

@orange_water@cailleach: Wes waited for Will to enter the car before starting up the car and turning up the heater. "Well from that brief description I gave, you now know as much as me. Which is to say not much at all." Wes looked behind him as he started to pull the car out of the parking lot. "Now hold on if we want to make it back to the city before dark Imma need to break a few speed limits."

Paying little mind to any objections Will might have Wes floored it making sure to slow down if he thought he saw a police car. Wes thought to himself how they could find any information about the women. The parka she was wearing had apparently stopped anyone from getting a good look at her. However, if she was involved with the case there was a chance that she had been near the other victims before they had vanished.

Sorry it took me a little while here, guys, yesterday was nuts!

@anonym:

"We talked to several of the other parents and children. A couple of them said they saw Mary and Brad talking to a woman they didn't know who was walking a dog by the playground, petting the dog mostly, but after they talked to her for a bit she went on walking and the kids went out of sight behind the building - that was the last anyone saw of them." Mrs. Keller seemed understandably upset at the situation.

@wes_the_hog: @orange_water:

By some miracle, the two men managed to make it back without acquiring a speeding ticket. Since it had been nearing sunset when they'd left and it was over a two-hour trip (although apparently a bit less than two hours when Wes was driving), it was after dark when they returned, and bitter cold with the sun gone down. They'd have to figure out how they wanted to handle the rest of the evening, and what their plans were for the night.

@cailleach: @orange_water: Wes hopped out the car to follow Will, agreeing with him. It was probably a good idea to put everything they had learned together. If they were lucky some else might have heard about the woman cementing here as part of the case and not just a coincidence. "If you're paying then I don't mind if I do, but just so you know I missed out on lunch too."

He was pretty hungry and was glad Will had decided to take a break and eat, his arm was working overtime with the amount of heat it was pumping. Any longer and it felt as if his stomach was going to start digesting itself. Picking up the pace from the car to the restaurant his gloves and hat doing little to nothing to stop the cold. At this point his H.O.G. was so hot he could smell burnt wool from his left glove.

Trist nodded when he heard about the woman, but didn't say anything about his suspect. There was really no evidence that liked the dog-walker to the woman from the MPD, but still...the dark-haired woman's words about Chuckles were rattling around his head, I understand dogs. It was really nothing--but it was the littlest facts that made up the case. He realized he'd become very quiet, and made sure to look Mrs. Keller in the eye so she could see his earnestness as he said, "Thank you, Mrs. Keller. I promise your children will be found soon. I'll do my very best to bring them back." With that he turned and got back into his car, and drove down to the park. Only after he got out did he check the text message that had arrived from a Kentucky number he didn't recognize. He considered texting back, but decided to call on Laughing Ace instead. The Ace, now colorful and a little frustrated with the fruitlessness of his search for the dog-loving woman, agreed to meet with Will and Wes in Tristan's place. The message that William would receive read: "When and where to meet?"

After the brief meeting with the detective, Phantasm left the office, and headed towards the hotel room. He understood fairly well that this was going to be a long and tedious job. But he didn't have to do it himself, as long as the others were on the trail, Phantasm had the mindset to just let things fall in place. He waited patiently for his partner's arrival back in the hotel. Tomorrow, they were going to Duluth before officially starting the investigation. He would try to pick up the trail of the suspect from where it all began.

Someone somewhere must have seen something, something that the PD has overlooked or missed, and Phantasm was going to find it.

@cailleach: @wes_the_hog: @anonym: @phant4sm: @admirallogic: I was next in line to order my food which would be a double cheeseburger with fries with Wes behind me. I walk up to the counter and order my food paying the cashier with a twenty right after that handing Wes thirty dollars to order his food. Now how much money do I have left? I hate you math...

I get my food and sit down at a table when I receive a text from Tristan the guy with a creepy smile I send a group text reading," 9:00 back at the police station." Finally I start digging into the delicious burger.

Picking up the food he had bought and taking a seat next to Will, Wes proceeded to set the change next to him before taking a bite. After a couple minutes of silence as they ate Wes finished off his last bite and turned to Will. "So what do you make of the new information then, you think she's the one who's abducting people or just another victim." He asked wondering how the would plan to tell the rest of the group wha they found. I would be good to at least know where they stand on it before trying to tell others about it.

@cailleach: @wes_the_hog:"Truthfully I don't know this case is following no real reasoning whatsoever this woman shows up before our fisherman goes missing could be just some coincidence she was there with someone else and they were having a nice conversation it could be that. The other option woman is an associate let's go all the way and say mastermind that worries me because we now have to search for this woman who is possibly a meta or mutant who would have known this would bring unwanted attention so possible trap now. More or less I think were not gonna walk out of this city and say it was a normal day at the office."

I finish my burger and my fries thinking also on one more possibility we know this isn't weather manipulation but what if it's some kind temperature manipulation I've fought two people like that the first in Seattle who controlled ice and another when I came home for the first time running into someone with fire control if there's one thing I know it's that you don't mess with that kind mutant or meta.

"Heck, eleven people going missing in the span of a month will definitely be one for the books. Whether there's a meta involved or not, it's an odd case none the less. However, for now, lets just assume nothing about the women, at the very least she might know something about the victim that connects him to the rest. I kind of wish we had more to go on than just a women in a parka, but none of the people near the docks had gotten a good look at here."

Wes threw away his trash and started to get ready to hit the road again. "Anyway, the woman and the lack of any apparent weather manipulation are the only things we really have to share. So, where are we headed to meet them anyway?"

Ace entered the police station about fifteen minutes early. He could have arrived as soon as the text came in, but he'd decided to give the city a very quick sweep. No sign of the woman from earlier, unfortunately. He had found a lot of different things, things that gave him food for thought, but nothing pertinent to the case. He materialized a lollipop in his hand and began sucking on it thoughtfully, waiting for the others to arrive.

JJ pulled up on a curve near what she thought was the correct hotel and locked her bike. She got up and opened her mirror to make sure that everything from her hair to her makeup was in order before she ran into Rudolph. She leaned on her bike and called him on speed-dial.

“Hey, I’m here. I’m staying with you tonight, btw. You wanna come help me get my luggage? Or are we staying somewhere else for the night. I wanna drop this sh*t off before I do anything else.” she answered as he picked up the phone, "Also, Hi."

J.J. leaned against a nearby wall with her phone to her ear, using her free hand to check for her firearm and adjust her belt as she spoke.

Hopping into the car Wes started driving towards the police station. With no need to rush and not certain he could get away with it, he took the drive much slower than the previous ones. After around ten minutes of driving, they arrived at their destination, this time with fewer close calls. "Alright, when were we supposed to meet up?" He asked stepping out the car and heading towards the station.

The receptionist at the front desk of the police station had changed since their meeting earlier in the day, apparently the person on duty now was the night shift receptionist. He checked them in carefully as they arrived, ushering them not to the meeting room they'd been in earlier, but a different room that looked more like a conference room.

After a few minutes, Detective Graie arrived as well, apparently having gone home at some point between the earlier meetings and the current one, because she was now dressed in civilian clothing - black pants and a pale yellow fitted T-shirt, in which she managed to look exactly like a police officer dressed in civilian clothing. Undercover, she was not. "Hi, guys," she greeted them informally, with a hint of a tired smile. Likely this wasn't going to be her first late night meeting over this case, nor her last. She didn't complain about it, though, and if she held a takeaway cup from a real coffee shop rather than a departmental mug of Institutional Approximate Coffee Beverage, no one was likely to begrudge her that, either. "I hope by the fact that you asked for a meeting you have something we can work with."

Hotel

Xanders had been flipping over report documents of the cases of the Keller kids. He found an oddity about a women who were in contact with the kids before they disappeared. No one seemed to know this woman with the dog, but this was at least something that could be worked with, but not necessarily a lead. There were thousands who could fit the same description. Xanders only choice was to try and find out if the same women with the dog appeared elsewhere in an around the metropolitan area where the disappearances have occurred, and try to piece together a profile for the women. This to him, was the best thing to do for now.

His phone rang all of a sudden.

“Hey, I’m here. I’m staying with you tonight, btw. You wanna come help me get my luggage? Or are we staying somewhere else for the night. I wanna drop this sh*t off before I do anything else.”

It was J.J. Xanders smiled. She would make travelling about the area so much easier, and faster. "Hello to you as well JJ," Xanders said laughing.

"Also, Hi."

"I'll be right out," Xanders said with a nod, then he'd got his things properly placed, and walked downstairs and outside. JJ had been leaning off against a wall.

Xanders helped her get the luggage in to the room, "We have one stop to make before we call it a night," Xanders said, helping JJ keep all her luggage in the wardrobe. Once she had been properly accommodated, they walked back out and straight on to the bike, "to MPD," Xanders instructed JJ to start.

The Meeting

Xanders and JJ arrived at this meeting, or whatever that had been called, "Let's go," Xanders told JJ, as he walked inside. They would check in at the reception, where they would be lead to a conference room of sorts, where they would be greeted by a woman in a pale yellow shirt, "A pleasure to meet you again, Detective," Xanders said before taking a seat. His mind beginning to ponder on the exact nature of the meeting.

Ace stood a little awkwardly towards the back, but cleared his throat when the detective arrived and asked what they'd found. He waited like a schoolchild to be called on before going on.

"Hello everybody, my name is Ace, you probably haven't met me yet. Tristan sent me to give a summary of his findings while he follows a lead. You all probably know from the file that the last person the kids spoke to was a strange woman walking a dog. Neither the woman nor the dog were seen before or since. He already has a suspect but he told me to just tell you that, since he has no evidence yet to uphold his suspicions. He and Chuckles are following the kids' trail as we speak, trying to locate them from the park where they met the strange lady. He wants me to stay in the city here in case something happens, so if someone here needs a partner still I'm free. That's all I've got."

He folded his long arms and leaned on the wall, his blue eyes watching everyone to see their reactions to his small piece of information.

Taking in what Ace had said, Wes decided to chime in with what he and Will had learned at the docks. "I don't know if the two events are connected or not, but multiple men at the docks claimed to have seen Andy, the first victim, interacting with an unknown woman before boarding his boat. The couldn't see much of her appearance because she was wearing a parka, but I reckon she might be the same person. If we can find any evidence of woman interacting with a victaim before the disappeared then I think we can start assuming she has something to do with the case. Onto an unrelated note, me and Will also learned that there is nothing odd with the weather, so that knocks out any weather manipulation. However, the possibility of someone taking direct control of the temperature is still there, so look out for signs of that."

Confident that he had said everything, Wes sat back down waiting to see if anyone had something to say.

"Hi! I apologize for being late. I caught most of that." Miss Cailleach - no little dog this time - tossed her coat over the back of a chair and sat down in it. "I've been listening in on people's conversations around the city. There are lots of people talking about the disappearances - mostly the children. Very few people seem to know about more than one or two of the other disappearances."

Her eyes drifted around the room at the other investigators for a moment, then she added, "Have you considered the possibility that this mystery woman of yours is actually two different women? Women are pretty common, and Minnesota has a decent sized population. It could be entirely unrelated."

Alison frowned slightly, but nodded. "She's right about that - officially, it's not really enough to go on." She took a thoughtful sip of coffee, then added, "But you aren't here to be official. The police department is handling the official case. So, unofficially, it's more than we had a day ago, and I would like it if you follow up on that lead. It may turn out to be nothing, but I don't want to dismiss it just because it's a long shot."

@cailleach: @wes_the_hog: @j_jackson: @phant4sm: @anonym: "Your right Miss Cailleach was it there are lots of women here in Minnesota * as there is everywhere* but from what I'm hearing it almost sounds like the same woman was spotted in Duluth with the fisherman and then spotted with the kid napped children but it's never that simple either." She almost seems to have a resemblance to this woman herself but I have nothing on her so I'll leave it alone for now." I've been working on several other theories myself you guys have already heard we aren't dealing with a weather manipulator it's related to the temperature. But my other theory is the relation between the victims brother and sister, mother and son and the pregnant teen but the lonely man and the strangers are an outlier in the theory.

"I think you might be overconnecting," Alison answered honestly, "My guess is that those who were taken together were taken together simply because they were in the same place at the same time - the part that bothers me about that is our two college students out on the highway, because it means that whoever did this is somehow capable of subduing two young men without any sign of a struggle. The other odd spot is the O'Malleys, because there were a few days where the son was missing, but not his mother."

She set the coffee cup down, sitting forward a little. "From the people we've interviewed, it's been pretty clear that Mrs. O'Malley would do anything for her son. She reported him missing immediately, and called the local police station every day, until she was also reported as missing. I very much doubt she was the type to sit around and do nothing. I can't help but wonder if she somehow found something out and was taken because of it." She paused, then made herself add, with a hint of discomfort: "Or if she found out and went along with whoever it was willingly. Although I don't know, then, why she wouldn't have reported it to the police. It's possible that she was threatened or coerced. I'm hoping she left us a hint somewhere - but we haven't found it yet. I want to try to get up to Grand Rapids this weekend if I can, but I don't think I can get away from the Cities before then. Maybe some of you can head up there and find something earlier."

Ace listened to William and to the detective, but his eyes were on neither of them. He was closely watching Miss Cailleach, trying to figure out the strange vibe he was getting from her. It was a bit more than attraction...maybe something supernatural, like Tristan theorized. It wasn't the most unlikely thing, since LA couldn't get a read on her. He simply listened carefully to the others, and kept a close eye on Tara's body language.

"Good question," Alison said, with a nod to Landon. "Frankly, Mr. O'Malley wasn't much of a journalist at all. He had very few published writings, mostly on sketchy internet sites. The tumblr of the journalism world. He'd written on various subjects, he seemed to have an interest in investigating the supernatural, but his investigation methods were a bit questionable - unreliable sources and the like. Not much paid work, and what he was paid for, he wasn't paid much, which explains still living at home with his mother."

Cailleach half-listened to the conversation, letting her gaze drift to the boy watching her and giving him a lazy smile. "Something you wanted to ask me?" she inquired innocently, more to point out that she'd noticed him watching her than anything else.
