The day had finally come. For years the Hellfire Club ruled the world. But with the return of Magneto, war was

inevitable. In a surprise attack, the Vine Villains blitzed the headquarters of the Hellfire Club. Blood and death followed with them. Now, surrounded by ruins and fire, Magneto and Gambler face off yet again to settle old scores.

This is an rpg for Mags and Gambler only. No one interfere.

It had happened so quickly, and the Hellfire Club had grown so arrogant that when the VV attacked, they had been caught completely off guard. Those who hadn't been killed, escaped. But one man stayed behind, one man's pride was to great to let go of his precious HFC. Standing in the middle of what used to be the Hellfire Mansion, Gambler waited. He was surronded by debris and fire, but still, he did not flinch.

Nothing but hate was left of the once cocky and proud leader. His legacy destroyed, his grip on power ripped away, vengeance was all he had left. Slowly he tossed away his shield, then his sword, for he knew what, or more precisely , who, was coming. Clutched tightly in his hand was his old wooden staff, and his bow remained slung over his shoulder. Pulling back the hood from his head, Gambler managed to flash his trademark grin as he said,

"This time old friend, you stay dead."

The Blitz had taken a long time to organize getting everyone into place. Buying off the right people on HFC staff to change sides. All this had paid off for now Magneto hovered over a destroy HFC HQ and the few surviving members fled. But not the one he had came for he know he wouldn't run he couldn't run to much pride for this one.

"Gambler my dear boy, You don't look so happy to see me."

Magneto had waited for this day a long time. Gambler had sent him to hell and mags intended to return the favor. Those days in hell had taught him a few things and had made him stronger. But now was the time to see if he was strong enough. He noticed Gambler's sword and shield layed on the ground.

"Glad you got that part out of the way."

Pointing to the sword and shield.

Gambler tilted his head slightly as he looked up at Magneto. He hated the thought of being looked down on by anyone, let alone his arch-rival.

"Whats a matter, to scared to get your hands dirty? Tis okay, if you wont come to me, I'll just have to come to you."

In one quick motion, using the moves of Akira Overdrive, Gambler ran half way up what was left of the east wall. Pushing off and flipping towards Magneto, he unleashed a flurry of kinetically charged cards at his old teacher, before twirling around and landing back on the ground. But he didn't stand still, he wouldn't give Magneto the opportunity to simple fly high and pick him off. Using the movements of Last Arrow, Gambler weaved from side to side, using the smoke from the fires to cover him as best it could.

The war may have been lost, but the true battle had just begun.

Magneto quickly created a shield around his arm blocking the cards. He was glad Gambler started it off quickly there was now need to wait. Gambler had indeed grown stronger sense they last battle the impact of the cards was much harder then before. However he made sure not to show any signs of that.

He shot several magnetic shots in return back at Gambler. All missed hitting close by but no direct hits. It appears as if Gambler had grown in speed as well. Things would be most interesting now.

"What no hi how you been how was hell"

Magneto was still upset Wanda had saved Gambler and Not him. He hover down to the ground landing on what was left of a floor. He made a fist with his hand sending debris from the HFC HQ flying towards Gambler.

The cards exploded on impact with Magneto's shield. His defense was one of the most impressive tools Gambler had ever seen. In a way Gambler still admired the man who had crafted him into one of the greatest killers the world had ever known. But even now, after all he had accomplished, all he had created, it was nothing compared to the man who started it all. Magneto was reclaiming his position and bringing back the Vine Villains with him. It was taking all of Gambler's speed to keep out in front of Magneto's attack.

Even though he had avoided the magnetic blasts, the charge could still be felt running up his legs.

What, no hi how you been, how was hell.

"Cocky as ever." he thought to himself.

Just as Gambler saw Magneto touch down, he broke cover. Using the same straight forward bull rush of Darkchild, he began to lower his shoulder. But the Master of Magnetism was just a little quickly. Swiftly picking up pills of debris, he flung them forward. With no time to react, Gambler was struck by large pieces of concrete and wood, sending him end over end and slamming into the wall. Blood spat from the mouth of the once proud leader as his body was stopped violently.

Never one to show weakness to his enemies, he picked himself up, resting on one knee while whipping the blood away from his mouth.

"Tis gonna take more then dat Mags." he smirked.

Raising his hands, a pile of his own lifted off the ground. Thrusting his hands forward, the debris was sent in Magneto's direction. Gambler took off right behind the mass of broken wood and pieces of concrete walls, a single glowing card in his hand.

Magneto watched in almost delight as the attack hit on target and drew blood. Gambler however was up and coming straight at him in no time. Gambler had always impressed Magneto the main reason he had turned him in the first place. He had tried to us him but Gambler quickly grew uncontrollable.

"Wouldn't have been much funny other wise."

The debris came flying towards Magneto Magneto quickly braced himself and sent one large Blast detroying the debris. Smoke filled the air unable to see much of what was happening Magneto reached out with his mind. A telepathic attack would give him time to figure out his next move.

Gambler ducked his head as Magneto destroyed the debris. It however created a type of smoke screen which the Cajun then used as cover. Closing in on his target, he lifted his hand in anticipation, ready to let the card fly.

Suddenly it felt as if someone was frying his brain. Magneto always did have strong telepathic abilities, but this was like nothing he had faced before. Blood started to trickle from Gambler's eyes, ears, and noise. The pressure was building and building, dropping him down to his knees.

Grasping the sides of his head in pain, Gambler dropped the card. Already charged as it floated softly to the ground, there wasn't enough impact to detonate it, instead it lay in-between the two combatants. Using every bit of strength he had to control his telekinesis, he flung the card at Magneto. He knew the shield would most likely block it, but hopefully it would cause an explosion big enough for Magneto to lose his grip on Gambler's mind.

Magneto could sense gambler was close and that he was causing him great pain. Perhaps taking to much enjoyment in this he let his guard down. He could feel the pain it was intoxicating ever so enjoyable after all this time creating this amount of pain. For one he had had so much hope for in away exceeded those hopes having almost totally destroyed the VV and kill Magneto gambler had more then proven himself.

And during these thoughts is when it hit. the could did not come quickly but it was to close and to late for Magneto to do much but Jump out of the way. It hit right below him sending him flying into the air. He lost his connection to Gambler and for a moment his rage. He quickly regained him self floating in the air.

He could not see him but know he was down there he would wait for Gambler to make the next move.

The blast sent Gambler sliding backwards. The smoke still rolling off his broken and bloody body. This was not the Magneto of old, no longer was he held back by hopes of a unified front. He had built his new Vine Villains from the ground up and was more determined then ever. Trying to stand, the blood still dripping from his eyes, Gambler collapsed.

But his pride wouldn't let him stay down, so again he tried to pick himself up off the ground. He was able to get to one knee, and then up to both feet. Magneto was nowhere in sight, but Gambler knew he wasn't gone, not that easy.

Clothes tattered and charred, blood flowing from open wounds all over his body, Gambler emerged from the smoking hollowed out remains of the once mighty Hellfire Club. Looking up, he spotted the ruthless leader of the VV hovering, like an Eagle or bird of prey, just waiting for the right moment to strike.

Gambler straightened himself out, defiant to the end and raised his hands above his head and out to the side, before yelling,

"YOU AIN'T GOT WHAT IT TAKES!!!"

He waited for Gambler the smoke was thick the battle before had left nothing but ruins and burning remains. The smell of dead bodies filled the air sweat dripped off Magneto head from the heat. His cape flapping behind him small amounts of air getting into his helment. He used the time to calm himself focus his anger and rage into one objective destroy Gambler and make him pay.

Suddenly he saw him come out from out of the smoke. Just have stayed hidden he thought. Magneto blasted two large Magnetic blast at Gambler then went flying behind them charging his fists with Magnetic energy and only releasing it when he got close.

With his internal injuries, Gambler couldn't utilize his speed as he had earlier in the battle. Somehow he manged to cartwheel out of the path of one of the magnetic blasts, and flip over the other. But as he landed the pain shot through his body, dropping him to one knee directly in the path of Magneto.

Two more magnetic blasts cut through the battle drenched air and exploded one right after the other upon contact. Gambler was sent flying back into the burned out remains of the HFC, his body twisting and twirling until finally crashing on the ground and sliding to a stop. If Magneto had no let up and instead, pushed the pace, he could have finished his old nemesis right then and there.

But he wanted more then to defeat Gambler, he wanted to break him. Break him for betraying him, break him for opposing him, but more then anything, break him for the satisfaction. Again, dragging himself up to his feet, it was all he could do to keep from collapsing. His right arm hung uselessly at his side, tendons ripped and muscles torn. But still he stood, same cocky smirk on his face as when the battle started. Only now his face was covered in blood, his left eye swollen and inflamed.

A master escape artist, there had been several opportunities for Gambler to escape. But like most arrogant leaders, pride was a weakness that would prove fatal. Pulling out his remaining cards and charging them, he stood in front of Magneto.

"Make your play."

"Muhahahahahahahahahahaha"

Magneto looked at Gambler his rage had kept him from really focusing on him before. The man before him was proud no doubt but perhaps time had worn out that evil spirit that had once been there. There was still a hit of evil left in him but not as much as once was.

This battle would not be quick he did not want it quick it must be prolonged it must be painful. The battle must glorify the victor for all time sending a message to all other who dare oppose the Vine Villians and Magneto.

Magneto watched as Gambler prepared his cards and listen to his words. Standing upon the ground he stepped forward then appeared to bow before Gambler. His hands hitting the ground sending lareg spikes shotting out from the ground heading straight for Gambler.

In a flash, Gambler lept into the air, avoiding the spikes. The crafty Cajun had been playing possum. Using his telekinesis, he tried to force the spikes back down into the earth, and come up under Magneto. Still in the air, while Magneto was crouched, he rained his cards down. But this time he was using his pin point accuracy, aiming each card at the same location.

With two simultaneous attacks, and his cards focused on one spot, Gambler hoped Magneto's shield would finally crack. As he landed, he tucked and rolled into a sumersault back up to his feet behind Magneto.

"Dis o'l dog can still hunt." he laughed before taking off into the smoke.

Had to give him credit always played a good game Mags thought. However right then Those metal spikes he had sent where coming back at him. With a wave of his had they stopped in their tracks. He looked up watchin the what he thought wounded Gambler appear to be flying over him.

"Bloody Hell"

The cards rained down on him he was able to get his shield up. However something that had not happened much a small crack appeared after several cards had hit one card made it thru.

Magneto watched as it entered his shield watched as it hit his body. His shield lowered he went flying backwards landing hard on the ground dust settles around him. The hit was good impressive even. It had hit him in the side of the helmet destroying it.

He slowly came to his feet his helmet had never come off in battle before. Suddenly he felt something he had not in a very long time fear. He quickly repressed it and thought he would not be pulled into the gorilla fighting Gambler was tryin to pull him into.

Magneto dusted himself off and once again used a telepathic attack. Raising high into the air to get a better view of the battlefeild

A cocky grin was plastered to the face of Gambler, as he weaved in and out of the smoke. But his mini victory was short lived as once again his mind was assaulted. Immediately he was dropped and left curled up in the fetal position as blood once again began to leak from his eyes.

His mind was caught in a vice like grip, being squeezed and twisted. Gambler began to shake and the lights began to dim as he was fading in and out of consciousness. If he didn't come up with something quick, he was dead.

Everytime I hit the corner I be turning headz/Mike Jones/I be turning headz/ Everytime I hit the corner I be turning headz/ I be turnin headz. he began to sing in his mind. Over and over again he repeated the melody. The repetitive song kept Gambler's mind focused on began to block out Magneto's link. It was an old trick he had used before, but was not ashamed to use it again.

The attack did its job causing pain and giving Magneto time to Find Gambler. The old song trick it kept Magneto out for a time but destroying Gambler's mind wasn't what he wanted to do. He wanted Gambler to know what was happening to him every step of the way.

With the wind blowing threw his hair he flew closer to him but still high above. He tried to create a small gravity field around Gamblers feet hopefully wouldn't notice till it was to late. Magneto then began bring down what was left of a wall down upon Gambler.

"Sing your way out of this"

Hatred still filled his heart the urge to kill him only control by the urge to cause him pain.

Just as Gambler was getting back to his feet, he looked up to see Magneto closing in. Before he could react, what was left of one of the HFC walls, was being brought down on him. He went to jump out of the way but couldn't move. He tried to use his telekineses to hold it up, but against Magneto's power he couldn't.

Or so it seemed. The wall collapsed, leaving only Gamblers head sticking out of the top. But secretly, under neath the wall Gambler was straining, using his TK to keep the massive brick structure just inches above his body, just enough to give thee illusion that he was being crushed.

Playing it up, he spit up blood and began to gurgle. Hoping to lure Magneto into a false sense of security. Indeed Gambler was deceptive, it was part of his personality. Born to the Assassins Guild of New Orleans, he was taught from birth how to deceive his enemies. Show weakness when there is strength, show strength when there is weakness.

"Fi...finish.....m..me." he pleaded.

Magneto watched with joy the wall crushed him things worked out well. He heard the words Gambler spoke "finish me" Magneto was more then willing to do so. Flashes of the last battle poped in his head he had gone in close and was killed by Gambler. Magneto would kill but not yet Gambler had fouled him many times in the past and Magnetos mercy had gotten him in trouble many more times.

"Not yet old friend not yet"

Magneto used his Magnetic powers to force the wall to begin crushing Gambler into the ground. Magneto charged a large Magnetic ball of energy bigger then himself and released it down towards gambler.

While Gambler had been stalling, he had also been touching the wall if his hand, charging it full of kinetic energy. But Magneto was smart and would not fall for the same trap twice. Instead he chose to use his advantage of flight to its full potential, remaining far away, as opposed to moving in close.

He began to use his power to push the wall down, while it was taking all of Gambler's strength to keep it off from him. But when Magneto had to charge his blast, his control over the wall faltered ever so slightly, but to an escape artist, it was an opening big enough to exploit.

As the blast was hurled down at Gambler, he telekinetically pushed the wall up. Though not fully standing tall, it remained slated as Gambler scurried out from underneath it and the blast imploded on contact. The massive magnetic blast, coupled with the kinetically charged wall irrupted into an earth shaking explosion. Gambler was nowhere near far enough away to avoid it. It sent him flying through the air, landing several yards away, plunging into the ground and sliding another couple yards before finally coming to rest in an open field.

Only a crater size hole remand where the HFC Mansion had been, as a giant cloud mushroomed over head.
