Kalik Zomov is considered throughout the Universe as a mad man; Using his creations to destroy civilizations in multiple parts of the galaxy. Most recently, he has zoned in on creating living organisms devoted to destroying on the planetary level. His first four experiments have already toppled a planetary civilization each, which Zomov, considers successful experiments. Experiments 5 through 8 are already in motion and ahead of schedule, which Zomov also considers successes in his end goal. Galactical Destruction or at least its civilizations' downfall. Zomov might be considered throughout the Universe as a mad man, but he's also got a devoted following behind him, other 'mad souls' seething at the teeth for Civilizational Destruction. Which in turn, gives him the resources he needs to continue his goal.
Given the Successes of Experiments 1-8, Zomov has moved on to Experiments 9 and 10, his most promising Experiments for his end goal. Experiment 9 is planned to feel the gap between Experiments 1-8 and his goal that he believes to be achievable by Experiment 10. Experiment 9 is planned to be at the level of Multi-planetary Destruction, whereas Experiment 10 is planned to be at the level of Galactical Destruction or the very least the civilizations that consider this galaxy home when all is said and done.
Not only are Zomov's followers eager, but Zomov, himself is eager as ever for these Experiments to be completed, and maybe that very reason is why he could not foresee his mistakes. A man eager to cross the finish line can sometimes have so much tunnel vision that he does not see his surroundings.
Zomov's eagerness to complete his goal had him rushing towards it, all of his creations are focused on the destruction of things, Experiments 1 through 8 were created individually and isolated never even coming into contact with one another. Their constant tests, prodding, and goals, not only broke them but manipulated them into the monsters that would destroy civilizations. The nurture in developing them was just as important as the nature of the beasts themselves. Maybe Zomov in his eagerness completely overlooked this fact, when he had Experiments 9 and 10 interact with one another. His thought process was that 10 could get a jumpstart off of Experiment 9 to reach his end goal quicker. This small move leading to the undoing of all his hard work. Kalik was right in predicting Experiment 10 improving drastically by being around 9 given its adaptive capabilities, but in some ways would stunt his growth in some crucial areas.
Where Experiments 1-8 were isolated thus leading to the manipulation of them and managing of their personalities, 9 and 10 interact with each other constantly throughout tests. Where the other experiments isolation and abuse, broke them. Their interactions and Zomov's abuse bonded them, it united them. For example, 9 could understand 10, even though 10 was incapable of speaking to 9. 9 could tell when 10 was happy to see him when 10 was sad from the prodding, and when the constant tests angered him. 10 understood 9 just the same, although he could not directly conversate with 9, he could use body language and sounds to let know 9 what he was thinking.
The two of them although separated into different holding areas, would both lay near the wall they shared. 9 would hit against the wall testing the forcefield making a sound that 10 could hear and 10 would emulate the sound, then the both of them would fall asleep peacefully until the next day.
Zomov began testing the experiments directly against each other, but neither would move aggressively towards the other, he first tried prodding them, and when he realized that wouldn't force their hand. He chose a more aggressive manner. He would chemically force 9 into a mode of rage, at first 10 was taken back by the fact of 9 attacking him, but he saw the void in his eyes and the chemical residue still pouring out of 9's nose. 10 simply took a beating over and over again never attacking 9 knowing it wasn't his true self. 9 at first didn't even realize this was happening, he would remember one of Zomov's men coming each morning, but then it got hazy until he was thrown back into his pod at the end of the night. He would see glimpses of 10 in the fog of his mind, and always 10 giving him a heartfelt smile. Them constantly repeating the process eventually led to the chemical being less effective. 9 awoke mid rage one time with 10 beneath him still giving that same smile, but physically he was different. 9 scattered away from 9 out of fear and regret for what he had done to 10. It wasn't until 10 walked over to him and hugged him that he felt a bit relieved understanding that 10 wasn't holding all of it against him. Safe to say the next time 9 was greeted by a Zomov henchman at the beginning of the day, they felt first hand what 10 was having to go through.
Zomov finally realized his mistake, he immediately separated the two of them into opposite sides of the whole test ship. Neither knowing where the other was being held or if they were even alive. 9 realized soon after the separation that 10 was still on board, by overhearing the henchmen talk about 10 throughout his tests, comparing their results before and after their separation. 10 figured out by noticing leftover fur from 9 in the test areas. Where the separation was the closest Zomov got to breaking their spirit, them knowing that the other was still alive boosted them once again. Each continuing until they could see each other again.
Kalik Zomov is considered throughout the Universe as a mad man; Using his creations to destroy civilizations in multiple parts of the galaxy...Zomov might be considered throughout the Universe as a mad man, but he's also got a devoted following behind him, other 'mad souls' seething at the teeth for Civilizational Destruction...but his successful creations didn't go unnoticed, there was a planned attack by members from different civilizations, once they knew about his test ship, in hope to stop another successful creation from destroying another civilization.
They quickly dealt with the test ship's forcefield and power, unbeknownst to those on the test ship there was a moment between the power failure and the backup power coming online, both 9 and 10 acted instinctively to escape their holding areas to find each other. The test ship was boarded by the attackers, while the crew and attackers fought one another the two experiments fought through them. The attackers had no idea what they were capable of and quickly incapacitated if they confronted the experiments. The followers of Zemov believed they had the answers to contain the experiments given they could always get them back into their holding areas and never really had a problem prodding them, but they soon realized they too were incapable of containing these 'monsters'. The fight between attackers and followers of Zomov continued until each of them saw the creature meet one another and dispose of those around them. Attackers began to port back to their ship. It was obvious to experiments 9 and 10 the attackers retreating was more tactical than anything. The two experiments began communicating with one another and devised a plan for their escape, and when the attacker ship began blasting the test ship Experiment 10 opened his mouth and Experiment 9 crawled comfortably into it, and the two of them waited for the ship to be torn apart. Experiment 10's body would not only protect him, but 9 as well for whatever blast the ship threw at them, just for safety measures. In a matter of blasts, the Ship was torn apart and 10 shot out of it during the final explosion towards the attackers' ship, just as he was underneath he let out Experiment 9's upper half of his body. Experiment 9 dug its claws right into the frame of the ship. The attackers believed this impact was from the aftershock of the explosion but in actuality, this was a couple of stowaways using their ship as a getaway vehicle. Experiments 9 and 10 had completed the plan they had discussed moments ago perfectly. They eventually pushed off the ship and floated towards a planet, both away from their creators and attackers. As they got near the planet's atmosphere, 10 swallowed 9 back up and braced for impact. The two of them were free, both physically and emotionally. A new beginning.
Experiment 9 decided with this new beginning they would have names. Zomov had always referred to them as Experiment 9 and 10, but 9 felt that they were so much more than what he set out to create. Experiment 9 gave Experiment 10, the name Pudge, which he happily accepted with happy noise. Experiment 9 chose this name because coincidentally both the attackers and followers of Zomov referred to Experiment 10 as the Pudgey one when talking about him. Experiment 9 gave himself the name Blue for the very same reason. It may seem weird that they are called by what we would consider their enemies but to Pudge and Blue, it felt liberating to be referred to as something more than just an Experiment with a number attached to it.
