The Nova Invicta, 3:45 AM

The moon's rays clashed against the metal of the massive ship, light bouncing off into the clear night sky. The smooth waves lightly beating the hull as the vessel made it's way through the water. Then... well, someone had to ruin it. RINGARRINGARRINGARRING! the ship's alarm system rang out, though only to the room's where the members of the new generation would sleep.. if they slept at all, that is. It stopped after three minutes, which would hopefully have brought all the members to the hall. Peacekeeper Mitchel stood with his arms crossed as the young funneled out. As all of them went out of their rooms, he nodded. "Good, looks like we smashed two birds with one stone. The new alarm system is working, and your all up. I suggest you all get whatever gear you usually carry around and head to the meeting room." not answering any of the questions or listening to any complaints, Mitchel heads back to his own room.

As the members, resentful or not, enter the dark meeting room, the large screen in the back of the room flickers on with some static. The standard silhouette of the owner of Genesis Incorporated forms on the screen. He nods as each of the members come in, not showing any indication of emotion in whatever darkness he hides in to shield his identity. As the last of the young enter, he surveys the room, examining the characters who his scouts had brought into the fold. "Hello, I do hope you don't mind the crude awakening too much. My associates wanted this done as most training is done." he stops again, eerily observing the members silently for a few seconds before continuing. "Yes, training, that's what you may call it. My investors have gotten impatient with the standard training, no offense intended to mister Richards. I had to oblige with their pleas. After all, they were throwing their resources my way to do so." he chuckles, but it sounds forced.

He stops the laughter flat. "So, I did what any reasonable person would do with such a large amount of wealth in his hands; I bought an island." he once again stops, staring. "This island, it is unique... more will be explained later. I was planning on building a larger training facility there, but my associates want to see you in action now. I hope your ready for a trip. Head up deck, and yo'll be handled there." the silhouette looks as if he's gonna flip a switch or something rather, but stops. "Oh, and good morning." the mysterious owner says before the screen flicks off.

Upper Deck

"Alright, all of you get in line." Mitchel says as the members come up. "Each of you will be riding on a different boat and will arrive on a different side of the island. You will be given communicators to communicate with home base." he looks up from the clipboard he was reading from, checking if they all are paying attention. "There will be two opposing sides in this exercise. Protagonists and Antagonists. Protagonists, your objectives will be given to you via your communicators. Antagonists, your sole objective is to keep the Protagonists from completing their objectives to a certain point. Protagonists, you will not be informed on who is and isn't an Antagonists. Unless you are specifically told so, you are not an Antagonist." he chuckles as his eyes role over the last few sentences. "Killing other members is prohibited, if you encounter a member of the opposite side, you are meant to either knock out or incapacitate them. Once you have done that, you are encouraged to mark these members with these emitters." he holds up a small device.

"This will signal helicopters to pick up these members so they cannot interfere further in the exercise. These members will be carried out in a similar way to how stranded livestock are. This is so others on the island will see who is and isn't out of the fight." he hold the clipboard to the side and looks up. "Alright now, I'll call you one at a time to prevent any... cheating. As I call you, head to a lifeboat and you'll be taken to the island." Mitchel begins calling out the names, or alias's, of every member aside from Saint, Knightwing, Ajax, and Jade. As the other members leave, he smiles at the remaining. "Congratulations, you are the Antagonists." he says with a smile. Pilot Thomas looks out from the helicopter behind Mitchel. "Alright, you four get on, I'll take you where you need to go." Mitchel nods and walks away, leaving the members to do what they need to.

**COMMUNICATOR SIGNAL**

"ATTENTION ALL PROTAGONISTS; YOUR OBJECTIVES ARE AS FOLLOWS." The robotic, female voice rings out through the communicators.
  • Find supply shack in the forest, gather explosive supplies.
  • Meet up with other members (OPTIONAL).
  • Break the base's walls, preferably using the gathered explosives.
  • Activate base's power.

"AFTER THESE OBJECTIVES ARE COMPLETED, AWAIT FURTHER ORDERS VIA COMMUNICATOR. 1897 OUT."

Meanwhile, with the Antagonists

"Alright, I'm taking you all to the base that damn robot is yapping about." Thomas says to the Antagonists as their communicators ring out. "All the others will be arriving on the coast of the island, so don't expect them to catch up that quick. Well, besides that Quickster kid." he yawns. "Once the Protagonists finish their little mission, if they do, you await orders too. You aren't gonna contribute by trying to fight each other after this, got it?" he waits for any answers and nods back to them. "And don't worry, they won't see us. This baby has infiltrated better." The helicopter slowly begins to descend as they close in on the WW2 era base. Thomas hovers the chopper just above the ground, allowing the Antagonists to jump off. "Let the games begin!"  he yells to them as he flies off.

Ajax was awoke by a wailing, and exceptionally annoying alarm. He sat up in his bed, dazed and some what confused after just waking from his deep slumber; clearly this alarm was not a clock set to wake him up for school any more, Ajax was no loner an ordinary teenager. He threw the white linen that covered him aside and swung his legs over the side of the bed and stood up straight in the pitch black room, blinking his eyes to shake the sleepiness that still dawned him like the darkness that was present in the room. He didn`t bother to change, and walked towards the door at the front of the room and slid it aside and wandered out into the hallway while still trying to shake the sleepiness from himself. He stood in the hallway for a split second as the alarm still continued to wail as if a banshee was running up and down the halls, and rubbed his eyes as the light from overhead showed his colossal-like body which was clothed in a mere pair of boxers.

The rest of the team began wondering out of their rooms, in much the same state Ajax was experiencing and the alarm than stopped. Peacekeeper Mitchel stood in front of them all, arms crossed and spoke, "Good, looks like we smashed two birds with one stone. The new alarm system is working, and your all up. I suggest you all get whatever gear you usually carry around and head to the meeting room."

Ajax let out a grown of detest towards the new alarm system, but now wasn`t the time to complain, something was going down...something quite serious. He wandered back to his room, threw on his boots, pants and vest and than headed towards the dark meeting room in which he was briefed, by yet again a dark, mysterious figure who would not show his face to the very team he had formed. It was rather suspicious, but Ajax never thought much of it. After receiving their briefing, the team moved once more to the upper deck where they were all lined off. Ajax was chosen as a antagonist for the training exercise; he was rather sceptical of this choice but did not question it in the least and moved towards the helicopter where Saint, Knightwing and Jade joined him. He had no qualms with any of these members so working together could be rather easy, the helicopter blades began to spin, slicing through the air like a knife through hot butter and lifted off the ship as it began it's flight to the island.

Ajax thought to himself as he sat in the hold of the chopper with the three other team members; he contemplated the possible difficulties the four of them would face. They would have many difficulties; first of all there was only four of them, secondly it would be difficult to spread their resources amongst keeping the protagonists from hitting their objectives as having one of them protect one objective would be much too risky. If the others decided to team up, the antagonists would have a much more difficult time. They needed to fight dirty, with guerilla tactics and most importantly, they had to work together and with an almost unrealistic amount of cohesion if they were to "win" this. A year ago and Ajax would never have though this way, he was just a normal teenager and although he still retained the age of a teenager he was far from being one. Merlin had gifted him with incredible intelligence that allowed him to think like a tactician and develop battle strategy like the Knights of old. He was not as sophisticated as his predecessor King Arthur, but that would come with age as he began to mature in the future.

He was awoken from his thoughts as the chopper began a steep decline, they had finally reached the island. The helicopter began hovering to let the four antagonist's off, and Ajax stood up from his seat, removing his headset and hopped off the edge of the helicopter, landing in the soft, molten-hot sand. The chopper was extremely close to the ground, nearly touching it and as a result sand was being blown in every which direction, lashing at Ajax's unarmoured skin. He took and knee and shielded his eye's with his arm as he waited for the others to dismount and the helicopter to leave. He heard the chopper beginning the lift off again, telling him all boots were now on the ground and listened as the blades beating the air slowly moved off in the distance.

As the sand began to settle, Ajax lowered his arm taking a scan around him and stood up, looking at the other members and began to speak. "I'm not going to try and lead us, as I don't believe myself to be a leader but we have a hard mission ahead of us. I suggest we utilize guerilla tactics while also exploiting the weaknesses of our team mates which we are now pitted against. For example, for Quickster I'd recommend staying in dense forest area as he is bound to trip up or get caught on something. We also possess incredible skills and abilities, but we need to use the environment as a tool as well. Most importantly we need to work as a team here and show what we can really do when we work together. Anybody else have any suggestions or ideas?"

Knightwing remained silent throughout the briefing, barely bothering to regard Mitchel, his eyes on the floor. Garbed in his skin-tight costume which was comprised of red and black, his bö staff compressed within a pouch across his back, and his face obscured by the long cloak he had taken to wearing at all times. Upon being selected as one of the mission's antagonizers, he discreetly rejoiced, savouring the chance to unleash himself for the first time in months. But, as he had for his entire time upon the vessel, he remained apathetic, pushing past his fellow candidates, taking a seat within the helicopter, folding his arms across his chest and lowering his head, completely blocking out everything else.

--

His boots kissed the hot sand, a large cloud of the stuff swirling around him as the 'copter rose into the air, leaving the four members of Genesis Incorporated behind to fulfil their duties. Covering his face with the edge of his cloak so that none of the fast moving sand struck his skin, he straightened up. After the mini sand storm had diminished, he discarded the lapel of his hood, steadily taking in his environment and surroundings. He noted every little detail, keeping it stored within the databases of his mind. He was about to break away from the group when the large fellow, Ajax, broke the silence with his heavy voice.

Knightwing stared at him for a moment, distaste smeared across his features. Turning away from him and the group once more, he took a few steps towards the forestry situated a few hundred meters from where they had landed. He spoke without looking back, leaving nothing but his comment behind.

"Do whatever the hell you like. I'll stick to my own shit, thanks."

Jade landed in the knee high grass of the clearing around the dilapidated stronghold. As soon as the others touched the ground, she was gone, vanished into the deep, unkempt greenery. She lay flat, drawing in hardly a breath more than a dead man, as she listened carefully to the other 'Antagonist'. Once again, for her simple pursuits, she had been cast as the villain.

She waited for the speeches to subside, for the overly confident and entitled students to go stomping off to wherever their restless hearts would lead them. When she determined that it was clear, she began moving through the grass, swift and quiet, a serpent in true form. Before long, she was on her feet, darting through the jungle, vaulting over rocks and repelling from tree trunks. It was a game of wits and deception.

No one was more suited to win than a Serpent.
