Deep inside Tarana’s consciousness, Conrad held on. For the longer he controlled her body, the more time Superion had to attack. But as she fought back with an undeniable will, he was being forced out, and quickly. Inside a war raged between the two for control, with Conrad losing every second. It was like two waves of water slamming against each other until one caved in. In the end it was the Scoundrel who lost. In one last shove, his full corporeal body was tossed aside, like garbage, forcing him to the floor, weak and unable to move. For all intense and purposes, he was dead to the world, except for his shallow breathing and shaky pulse. No matter how hard he tried to rise up, his muscles failed him. Instead he laid motionless on the floor, with his vision blurry, hoping and praying that Lucas got to Taranan in time, and all though he heard the unmistakable sound of fighting going on behind him, he was unable to do anything about it. So with a heavy heart he closed his eyes, waiting impatiently for his strength to return, and thus getting back to the fight in hand! For deep in the crevasses of his mind, he feared the worse!
Suddenly, like a voice from above, his heart was filled with joy, when he heard Superion ask, “Conrad?” Immediately, and with great internal fortitude, he found the inner strength to mumble the words, “Over (cough cough) here, Luc...” while waving his hand in the air the best he could. Shortly there after, he looked up upon the Icon, slowly regaining his strength, while telling his partner the horror he saw while in Dark Rain’s mind. “It was horrible, so much anger and rage! She’s mad you know, yet clever enough to have a plan! I saw it for just a few seconds, she’s building a time machine to go back in time and change it so that the Native Indians become the dominate species.” He then reaches out to grab his partners shoulder, “But she needs the combined power of you and your sister to power it!” Slowly and shakingly he begins to rise to his feet, as he divulges more. “But the worst part was what she is doing with Keira!” Hidden under his mask, his face was aghast, full of fear over the thoughts in his head, as he stumbles to find the right words to describe it. But shortly after a deep breath to calm his nerves, he begins to tells Superion all the details he can remember involving his sister and possibly where she might be or what was being done to her!
Unfortunately, while all this was going on, in great pain Dark Rain found the strength to not only escape, but escape with the half powered nuclear cell. From where Superion attacked her, only a trail of blood and burnt flesh remained behind, accompanied with the offsetting smell of burnt skin wafting in the air. Inside the chamber, It’s mechanical parts were ripped to pieces, as the villain forcefully tore the cell from the chamber, then quickly exited through a large whole in the roof, where small parts of debris were still falling from. Except from the signs of smash and grab, the only remaining signs that Dark Rain was ever there was Superion’s ‘S’ symbol sketched on the far wall, with her own blood, still dripping down to the floor. By now Conrad was standing up on his own, still somewhat in a daze, but ready and eager to go. “There is one more thing....” he says while stretching just to get the kinks out, “I’ve seen in her head, she’s not going to stop until she wins, and if we try to stop her....she’ll blow up the world!!!”
