@below0gaming: If that were the case, the Maverick-armed guards would note a lack of heat signature in the lobby. If it's an ocular illusion, how did he hand us papers, anyhow?

@lichter: I forgot to put something in his bio about the eye. I'll have to change it.

@below0gaming: Yeah, but if you didn't say before that you were using your powers, this is a retcon in the middle of an encounter. Making up new powers isn't alright.

@lichter: Im not talking about the power I'm talking about the post.

@below0gaming: Ok, how exactly do his powers work?

@lichter: Their all eye based. He can see literally everything within a 200 mile radius of his position with is left eye, even it's obstructed. He can see people's aura's their veins and organs. Think of it like a 200 mile x-ray but with the option to switch from color and non color. His right eye projects illusions onto other people's eyes that are hyper realistic to the point their brain can compensate. So if the illusion was talking, while there wouldn't be a voice a person's brain would think there was a voice. This is why he chooses to meet someone in person first so their brain can have accurate information to go off of. He is a purely mental manipulation based characters. (The compensation part is what I left out of my bio)

@below0gaming: The Oscillator detects abnormal energies, ranging from magical to telepathic to "chi." If it's mental manipulation to the extent that it would affect someone, the Oscillator pulses, which is like an EMP but for extranormal energies. I feel that it would detect and prevent this sort of thing.

@lichter: I have to change the post anyway so it doesn't really matter.

@lichter: Mask was a fan of his suit, it wasn't a cheap suit in the slightest. He took alot of time to care for his suits, hand pressing them. He even bought his own dry cleaning store where they were cleaned to his strictest specifications. So, as one could imagine, when his suits got damaged he got upset. Paint was never a good thing to put on a nice suit, so when Mask got pelted by ballistic paint balls he cared less about the pain and more about the suit. He got tackled by guards who were surprisingly strong, not stronger then Cameron(who has beaten him in arm wrestling), but they were strong. They lifted him up and walked him outside, Mask did his best to talk to the cameras. Reporters swarmed him with questions about the situation. He addressed the ones he could telling them that the whole thing was a misunderstanding and that the U.S. government hated him helping people. All press was good press and in this situation swinging the press in his favor would be best.

Mask was forcefully thrown into a vehicle where he got up and waved to the crowd before the doors shut and the agents hauled him off to wherever he was going. Before the doors closed he said one last comment in the direction of the agent who had issued the false arrest.

"All the pieces haven't revealed themselves yet boy. This game of chess is far from over."

Broadcast monitoring had muted the feeds, of course, as was customary, and Mask was hustled past any unwanted news reporters. Gently lifted into the heavily-armored VTOL awaiting him, Mask was placed in the back of a mobile cell. The doors closed off before he could get any word in.

"Remove your helmet, jacket, and any additional paraphernalia. Belts, wristwatches, jewelry, all in the box. Your possessions will be returned to you at a later date," said a masked agent, himself armored in a Maverick exoskeleton. Klaus himself would be departing via a separate flying unit, returning to Langley to prepare for the coming interrogation. The operation had been a success, though it hadn't gone quite as smooth as he'd hoped. Mask seemed highly unwilling to cooperate, which at first troubled him greatly; in the end, it only helped convince him that the man had something to hide. And whatever it was, it would be found.

The CIA Headquarters

"Run scans on these documents he provided. I doubt their authenticity," Klaus said, dropping a copy of Mask's personal documents onto his coworker's desk. "Make sure his holding location is secure. I want him alone. Questioning will begin soon."

@below0gaming: Mask isn't under Langley. I'll establish where he's being held later on.

EDIT: he also was never in a truck, but a Vertical-take-off / landing unit, which are those fancy helicopters with two rotors.

Not gonna happen

Mask's bubble was burst, his eyes saw all yet they failed to see what was actually at work here. He had been played, from the very beginning he had suspected something but now, it all clicked. He looked out at the crowd as the transport vehicle lifted into the air, from behind the glass that hid his face he held an expression of betrayal. The operatives asked for his belongings, he removed his suit and his pistol holders, placing them in the bin. Then they asked for his helmet, he refused.\

"The helmet stays on, don't even think of laying a single finger on it. Even if you try to force it off it won't work, tight seals so, not gonna happen."

You've Been Played

Mask changed his clothes into one of those fancy orange jumpsuits they gave prisoners and was escorted through an underground facility. He used his sight to pick apart every lock and door he moved past, formulating about thirty different plans of escape if need be. The guards placed him in a bland cement room, from what he could tell there was a one way window; it wouldn't work on him but, it was best they didn't know about his powers yet. As for everything else, cement walls were about 20 in. thick. Even Cameron would have a hard time getting through those, the door was secured by a highly complex lock. Needless to say they went all out to make sure he couldn't escape, he had thinned out his options to about 10 different escape routes.

Either way the topic on his brain right now was how screwed he was, the investors had enough pull to ensure this would never happen. They also had enough influence to warn him he was about to get arrested, which means they wanted this to happen. They wanted to keep him away from something, the only other significant public event going on was the Andromeda discussion. Why would they want to keep him away, if they wanted him to pick a specific side all they needed to do was say so. His mind had been formulating plans for the past few weeks, putting things together that did and didn't make sense. All the events, Denver, the Orcs, The Mist, and Now the Aliens they all did something. They all affected the populous in some way...that was it, everyone has been played.

Their pulling the strings

It all made sense when you thought about it, Denver and the fall of Maverick. The orcs only helping to cut the already weak strings between the mutants and the people. Not to mention that the military force of the world would have been significantly weakened by the constant battles. People were getting tired, soldiers were getting weak and now the government felt compromised by his lack of information. Now there were aliens, not only did they serve as a major distraction from his arrest but, they helped split the people even more then they already were. The CIA was being played, Maverick and Strike were being played, everyone was being played. Mask knew it now, they were pulling the strings which meant it was time to pull back. He would scream and shout until someone responded to his request.

"I. WANT. MY. PHONE CALL"

Phone calls? That would imply having rights.

The CIA, unlike the FBI, has no law enforcement authority. The Agency’s mission is foreign intelligence collection and analysis. If you have a law enforcement issue, contact your local police department or the US Department of Justice.

"The CIA does not collect information concerning the domestic activities of US citizens"

I like that idea. It has various plot implications should they be explored.

The Dog Catches a Scent

Cameron had been on an...extended vacation in order to deal with some of his own problems. Now that trip was over and he came home to find a shut down building surrounded by government agents, which meant the news was true. Mask had actually gotten arrested and while the guy was a jackass Cameron still refused to belive he deserved this. The man wanted to help people and of course the government turned on him. Now Cam needed information, so he broke in. It wasn't hard, he had picked up a few tricks from Vladimir and managed to get past the guards without a single interaction. Now he stood before the door to Mask's office, slowly and swiftly he opened the solid piece of wood and slipped inside.

He went to the mini-fridge, opened it up, and saw the only thing inside. A strawberry cheesecake, that could only mean one thing. Cameron grabbed his cell from his pocket and dialed a number. After three rings a voice picked up, it was a woman.

"Hey, I'm gonna need to call in that favor."

@katraya: potentially. Im trying to come up with a plan rn. I may need you to get information from the CIA so that one of my other characters can break Mask out.
