"My, my....this "Nordok" can conjure quite the force. To subvert a being's will through sheer force. No consent, no coercion. What I would give for such abilities."

Idly he walked about, the teleportation spell prepared as Vitus and his Deathborn gathered all around Lord and Emperor of the Planet Elysium, Asmodeus. Towering over most at approximately six foot six, but with a more lean build to others, he looked about the loyal war machines. Wholly mechanical, but with a human soul at it's core. Efficient, yet, intuitive.

"These humans, there is a quote my followers tell me, those who follow human culture. It goes that "Computers are incredibly fast, accurate and stupid. Humans are incredibly slow, inaccurate and brilliant. Together, they are powerful beyond imagination." I wonder how true that holds."

Asmodeus held little doubt of them, as they were far more impressive then most human soldiers. Assuredly, they would be superior to most

Seemingly, a faction had come from nowhere. Seemingly, their mastery of war had garnered minor whispers among the cosmos. This earth who fought off the Talmut, if one could consider it that. While they hardly fended off the fleet, they'd managed to destroy a small fraction of it, including a worldbreaker. Tales "midgard" echoed through the halls of Valhalla itself even, of mortal men who fought gods and monsters at every corner of the world. Earthly beings who spoke of their defending against the purge of their paradise at the hands of what was one of the deadliest beings in the cosmos.

And yet, it is a planet consumed in such strife. Such internal affair. Such conflict. The people, they do not feel safe in their homes. This planet is more ripe for the taking then it ever was thousands of years ago. Who are they to turn to? This "Maverick"? Their "Heroes"? I think not. Let us show them how many can be saved.

Salvation shall yet come to humanity, and it may yet come through Asmodeus.

A wicked smile crawled among his face. Radiant skin adorned in glowing, as it all came to change. His gold became dull and his body clad in brown robes, armored apparel taking up his chest. His skin decrepid and drained, did nothing to wane his smile, as a mask came over his now unrecognizable face. Lean muscle waned and became anorexic in appearance to the point that he may as well have been skin and bones.

The Harbinger had come, and he stood idly with his followers acquired from the city of Jakarta in tandem with an already loyal sect of followers he had in isolated portions of the world. He and they were ready to teach the world the perils of mortality. His ally, Nordok held great power that today the Harbinger sought to use to bypass this "Maverick's" defense through simply devising a portal through which the legions may simply waltz into their city.

The portals spawned and a sprawling city awaited on the other side.

Denver, Colorado

"Such a lovely day...."

The sky was bright, and the daylight was broad. Souls stirred amidst gunfire and clashing below as Maverick was famously quick for their responses. Deathborne of Nordok proved to be quite effective due the nature of their weaponry in that instead of using bullets, particle beams or plasma, it uses an energy designed to sap away the life force of their foes, enabling it to seemingly bypass powered armor completely. Maverick however, fought back with the brute force as to what it was so acclaimed. Some have taken to describing them as "a horde of rhinos."

The Voidgazer stood atop a high structure, his staff raised to the sky as he channeled his immense pools of psionic energy into the environment. No spells or incantation was required, as the skies began to darken. Thunder echoing about the landscape, a storm gathering as he manipulated the electrons of the air itself, moving them about their orbitals to cause the air to freeze. His kinesis so refined and augmented by his followers presence and simply their belief in the man, their faith, empowered him with such energies as to shift mountains.

After only an hour, the clouds swallowed the sunlight, enabling nothing to shine through. It began to drizzle. Most assuredly, it would test the endurance of the soldiers, who were but what? Mortal men. And who else would it test? The people. They become cold as the would run and hide wherever they could find sanctuary, soldiers scrambling to move the civilians they so sought to protect from the gunfire, facing an enemy who had so appeared spontaneously. They did not rely on the influx of money or the careful pooling of resources through means easily traced. They relied on forces from beyond the stars and people who supplied unquantifiable energies that drew upon abstract concepts as opposed to actual energy. And the pools only grew with each follower the Harbinger could sway to his side.

The voidgazer did not think himself above combat of the enemies "lesser" forces and of their armies. Indeed, they were putting a fight.

It is time we changed that.

With that, he leaped from the skyscraper high into the air before flying down towards the street diving headfirst as a smile crawled onto nigh decrepit lips. The impact ruptured the ground, causing the streets themselves to ripple and fissure as he channeled his psionic energy to rock the ground below. A flick of the wrist and a tank isn't shoved, the vehicle is tossed meters away. The raising of his hand, and several soldiers, along with armored vehicles, are levitated into the air by the voidgazers will alone as he then crushes bones, breaks necks. Men in powered armor are sent away through entire buildings at a time, and the turrets of most weapons cannot even turn to fire in his direction

The flash of a gunshot appears in his eyes, a hypersonic trail giving way to the shooter. Blood is drawn upon his shoulder, and he sees fit to take a moment to take it, running his finger along the wound before it immediately heals, and taste it.

Asmodeus blinks immediately to the location of the sniper. He sees nothing of the shooter, only where he was, and so, his solution was to take the skyscraper and rip it apart with his mind, the 33,000 ton lifted into the air and then rended into pieces as debris orbits him like planets orbiting the sun. He sees one lone man descending among the fallen debris. Immediately, the man feels an unseeable force take him, before he is brought forth, face to mask with the Harbinger itself.

"You dare draw my blood, mortal....?" He smiles, taking the man's gun as he attempts to fire, and launching it into the stratospere "You've grown to be quite a tenacious species. However. Tenacity merely prologues the inevitable."

(Gore Warning)

Nemaz's bones, tougher then concrete. Joints stronger than any steel. And yet, it did little inhibit Asmodeus's vast telekinetic power as he levitated the man in front of him, and then, tore him horizontally in two. Separating lower torso from the upper torso as he allowed it to drop ceremoniously to the ground. The Ugandan, as he heaved blood onto his mask, smiling masochistically at unfathomable pain and discomfort, internals dropping in plain air, exposed to the outside world. His arms fall limp, and he no longer attempts to resist. Ceremoniously, he drops him towards the ground.

"Now that is dealt with." He reaches towards the ground, pulling the water from the sewers, taking concrete in the form of large stones and swirling dust. A vortex surrounds him, propelled at such speeds and of such thickness measurable in feet that this barrier of matter deflected nigh any projectile that came his way. Hypersonic railgun fire disinigrating upon impact, any matter present able to shield the man, as he moved on, tearing through most whatever structure sought to impede him in his search for Maverick's main building.

As time goes on, the event is at the time, the front of the news as forces and factions mobilize to aid this threat. Darkness shrouds the sky and as Maverick gathers themselves, the darkness allows Asmodeus and his followers to indoctrinate more of the desperate. Tempt them into power, into joining them in their bout of destruction. Eagerly, many a normal human are tempted into safety and power, to be left alone by the Deathborne as some move to start a new life. Assuredly, other factions and individuals of power great and small sought to involve themselves. Whether against, or perhaps, for the now, Dark Harbinger. To which, he replied when asked of them.

"Let them come."

@asmodeus_prime:The whole scene was brutal, everything that Maxwell saw reminded him of his father. It sickened him and he wanted nothign to do with it however, as the leader of Fairytail who sought to defend the world from threats such as this he had arrived. Anyother memeber was invited to come however, not everyone would survive and thus others were allowed to stay. Those who did come stood behind Maxwell overlooking the destruction, Maxwell turned to them and began to speak.

"Normally this is the time when a speach is given to ensure the moral of a group is kept high. I'm not good at speeches so instead I'm going to be blunt. Some of you may die outhere, the force brought here to kill us is strong. They toss aside Mavericks troops like their toys however, we have something that Maverick doesn't. We have power, not just magic or strength, we have a bond. One that cannot be broken and one that fuels our every movement. One that fuels our every strike, this bond is somethign noone else shares. This bond is the bond of Fairytail, there may only be a few of us but, thats all we need. As for the battle plan it's simple, Kick some ass."

With those words of encouragment Maxwell lept from the cliffface they were standing on and took off. His speed brought him into the city in minimal time at all, his main goal however was not to fight through the troops on thr ground. Instead he moved up a building, using Bounce sigils to gain height. HE was on the edge of the city and it looked like most of the fighting was taking place in the center of the place. He traced his twin blades Ying and Yang, their shiny metal surfaces glowing in his hands. He gripped their handles with a force that made his hands white, he knew what he had to do. Bold was a current ally, he would be needed in this situation. Maxwell kept to the roof tops, using bounce sigils to move across them. He was heading for Maverick Headquarters, his blades ready for anyone or anything that attacked him. He just hoped the rest of the guild made it out alive.

@asmodeus_prime: Todd Richter was among the men and women who stood with Maxwell, before Max had started talking he had told Todd to get a head start clearing out the place. Todd did just that, he flexed his mechanisms and took off. No doubt Max had given the others a speech, probably told them they were all gonna die. If he did he wasn't wrong, in Todd's opinion this wasn't the place for anyone below A class. Either way Todd had a job to do and that was to kill anything that got in his way. His first encounter wasn't a pretty one, he didn't care much for formalities when it came to these fights. These things had invaded his planet and he didn't care about going easy on them. A group of enemy soldiers were engaging a group of Maverick forces, Todd saw one soldier's armor fall to the ground. He used his eyes to detect a some sort of life force in the middle of the fight. A potential invisible enemy, Todd charged forward at Mach 15. Sprinting past the soldiers and towards one of the strange enemies, he stopped in front of it and carried his momentum into his fist. A standard Punch from Todd was equivalent to a nuke, this punch carried that force along with his momentum from his run speed. The fist connected with the mechanical monster and sent it flying through a building. The building began to shake before collapsing in on itself leaving a cloud of dust and rubble where it had once stood. Todd lowered his arm, it glowed red hot and the rain fell on it causing smoke to form, he rotated his head to the other machines.

"You Maverick guys may want to go, I'm not the type to hold back against assholes like this and things can get pretty destructive."

Todd raised his arms and brought them together, a shock wave came out causing the ground beneath him to crack.

"As for you metallic chumps, let me show you what a real robot can do."

Todd stood in between two metallic bots, he shifted his weight into a fighting stance and kept his scanner eyes focused on both of them. The slightest movement from either one would incite a reaction from the Magical Cyborg.

Denver

The sight below was a collage of death, destruction, and war. Men and women fighting a battle they could never hope. Eclipse had watched from the comfort of Shatters pocket dimension as the entire battle went down. This was a wonderful time, war was his specialty and right now the humans needed to lose. The opposing force seemed to be doing a good job of winning so Eclipse decided to sit back and watch for a while. There were only two things that had evoked a reaction out of him though, the first was the sight of a very old looking being demolishing buildings and people. He even ripped one man in half, Eclipse licked his lips thinking of the power he could get from that man. A few minutes after this had happened the second event occurred, Eclipse picked up two more very powerful beings. He stood up, calling for Shatter to focus on their locations. He saw a man in a heavy amount of robes and another who looked like a machine, they were fighting against the invading force. This wasn't allowed, not until the population of people had dropped a bit. Eclipse let out a hearty laugh before changing his expression to a serious one. His one massive black wing extended from his back and he stepped through the view port. He found himself falling through a rain storm, his wing beat once causing a massive shock wave to rip through the sky momentarily disrupting the rain. Eclipse located the power of the elderly looking one and flew towards him. As he approached he noticed a few random soldiers, he drew his sword and landed between them and the older being. The soldiers head fell backwards off of their bodies as the angel landed, is wing furling against his back.

"Before you try and dismantle me let me just tell you that I am not your enemy. Not yet anyway, you serve a purpose I need and thus I'm not here to fight you. However, you should know that two people who could stand a chance against you have entered this battle and I am sure there are more on the way. That's where I come in, I offer my assistance in exchange for a favor from you. I will provide you my five strongest soldiers in exchange you will grant me your assistance if I ever need to call upon it."

Eclipse showed small signs of respect as he considered this being to be an equal to him if not more powerful.

Jack Knight moved silently through the groups as a shadowy form below the feet of the enemy. He reshaped into a twelve foot tall jackalantern weilding a giant scythe preparing to cut through them. Before he did he called out telepathically to Maxwell Hastings, "Any target inparticular?"

@asmodeus_prime:

Solaris saw the darkness and ignored it. True, it would eventually weaken her but her prolonged exposure to Earth's sun had insured that her weakness would not be as immediate as it once was. She had a plan for when she began to feel it take over and right now people needed her help. Solaris burned into the dark sky like a flaming comet and unleashed the power of the sun within moments of her arrival. Her first target was the army that pressed against Maverick everywhere they tried to engage them. Since most of the army was machines she showed no mercy, unleashing beams hotter than Earth's own star that were aimed to cut great swaths between Maverick and invader forces. These attacks weren't meant to turn the tide as much as buy Maverick enough time to begin to regroup across the city. Once these first attacks were made she paused, hovering above the city and looking down on the battlefield below.

The apparent leader of the attack was shielding himself with a swirling vortex of matter. I'd be surprised if this does anything, but it will make him think twice, might get his attention and maybe will open a way for others to attack him. Convinced after watching his fighting that Asmodeus could absorb one attack she channeled two hands together and sent a wide blast directly toward him. The heat ionized the atmosphere as it traveled, anything that approached it was reduced to particulates as the attack, designed specifically to destroy the matter both in his path and in his vortex shield, burned across the sky. Water vapor from the rain rose off of Solaris's form, her entire body generating heat simply because of her attacks.

The living star was not alone, floating in silence beside her was an ancient ally of her kind, a Binary. The Custodian floated effortlessly as she contemplated the battlefield below and hovered beside Solaris. A series of Maverick tanks and soldiers had been sent flying through the air. She lifted a hand and the Gravity Wizard began to manipulate the surrounding Gravitons with the ease of a person breathing. The flying tanks slowed and then came to a stop. She set them down gently back on their treads and caught many soldiers the same way and lay them down on their backs, uncertain if they still lived. Her next action was to aide Solaris's efforts against the invading army. She reached out with her mind and lifted the debris so conveniently provided by Asmodeous's destruction of the 33,000 ton sky scraper. She individually manipulated each and every piece of debris and turned them all into flying death traps. A thousand tiny pieces of metal and concrete were flung toward the enemy as if they had been fired out of a cannon.

The Custodian wasn't done there, she wanted to aide in the direct attack against the invasion's leader but did so with a different weapon at her disposal. She gathered pure light in her hands, concentrated the photons into what amounted to hard light objects, essentially lethal holograms. Now holding a pair of fist sized holographic spheres she flung one at the leader, hesitated half a moment and then sent the other one flying. Being as they were made of hard light the spheres would act as blunt force instruments and hopefully follow Solaris's beam straight through an opening in the matter shield. If either one were to hit their target they would do so at near relativistic speeds. Unfortunately as a test attack neither sphere was likely to survive any sort of impact with solid matter, if the vortex was still useful the spheres would shatter long before they reached their target.

Elsewhere in the city as lives were lost on both sides and the drums of war sounded a crazed man escaped from the local mental institution. He grinned at the devastation and picked up a small chunk of steel debris. "They sing your song! Their words are sweet to your ears!" He ran through the streets, eventually smashing in a random person's face. "They call to you! Hear the words! BLOOD FOR THE BLOOD GOD!!!!" He ran screaming through the streets, it didn't matter if his life lasted much longer, he had drawn the attention of his god and if enough fighting went on, if enough killing took place Khorne's Angel of Death would come for Denver.

Where one ends, another begins. At least that’s what it feels like, ever since I was transported to this parallel hellhole I’ve been moving across the globe aiding in one-armed conflict after another. The same sh* that caused my universe to eventually perish is happening here!

My thoughts are all over the place, I can’t help but fall into the selfish allure that drove my Ziccarra Liafador insane. But I’m different then that, my father was the beacon of justice. I can only recall one that possessed a truer heart than him and that was Night hunter. The clouds seemingly break at my booming speed, almost as if they knew the haste in which I traveled. I can feel my photon energy burning around my frame; I’m flying much faster than usual, I can only feel the features on my face stick to one another; as if I’m determined to end the climbing casualties. “The World Still Needs Heroes” I say to myself, remembering a promise I made years ago.

I told myself when I joined the Female Avengers that’d I’d do more, help more even if this wasn’t my world. I intend to keep my word.

Denver is still a little ways off, but the screams and sporadic gunfire travel for miles. “What is this?” I ask. From what I can hear is massive structural damage coupled with unconventional weapons.

Pulling my hands together in preparation for descent my eyes focus on an object heading directly toward me. Dropping my right side, I twirled just barley out of the way of a…weapon?

I streak right down to the surface, what I saw was reminiscent of those old post-earth movies. There was barley anything standing, gunfire everywhere, and civilians screaming for their lives. The photon energy, I can feel it burning around me. I’m angry.

Before I can begin to determine my first motion, I’m swarmed; armed…thingies on all of my sides. “You want a war…I’” before I finish my sentence, I feel the powerful almost laser like burn on my flesh. “These bastards didn’t let me finish my monologue” The energy sting, I could feel my exposed flesh burning in the ash of the city.

I waste no time, rising once more push my hands outward and construct a massive energy shield. It was instaneous and forceful sending their own firepower flying back toward them. I find one, just one to be made an example of. Throwing my right hand in its direction I grabbed it with my magnetism. A very useful skill I learned from my Sha, forcing it into the air, I pulled my left hand and fired off a photon blast and watched as it disintegrated.

With a bit of a moment’s reprieve, I duplicate myself, another useful power. Three more of me was a lot more effective than just one. I instruct one to aid in the healing and protection of civilians. I instruct the other to deal with the attack on the far side of the city, while I stayed here.

They complied and disappeared with their own instructions. As they disappeared my eyes turned toward the vortex spiraling a ways off from my position. “That’s different” I say watching as others converged on the target.

I levitate in preparation to assist them but my eyes catch the sight of Maverick Forces. I remember them from Asgard. Even with their might and seemingly superior resources this new threat was too much for them.

My wound begins to heal, and it’s more painful than being shot in the first place, I try to stay stationary and allow the wound to heal, but another beam whiz right past my head. “Time to move” I say pointing my toes down.

"The World Still Needs Heroes"

Pushing my hands together I conjure my photon energy once more this time in a more powerful concentrated beam. I send it flying towards my attacker and watched as this time it took the hit, but didn’t disintegrate. “Either…I’m getting weaker. Or these things are getting stronger”

Some distance from the battle, seated at the bridge of his cloaked vessel, the cosmic vampire watched events unfold. Hands steepled before his fanged maw, narrowed eyes glowing like angry embers, Vitus gave no outward indications of his emotional state, but inwardly he was really quite pleased. His Deathborn, powered by human souls, were performing most satisfactorily. Earth's defenders seemed to be having great difficulty in countering weapons that attacked their very life force, something not easily protected by armor or shielding.

The corners of his twisted rictus of a mouth curled upwards ever so slightly. He knew the truth; he knew that what made his mechanized warriors so effective was not their technology, but the overwhelming hatred that drove them. They felt no pain, they feared neither damage nor destruction. They were all but overwhelmed with an insatiable loathing of their living, breathing foes, and would not cease to fight until either they or their enemies were obliterated...unless he dictated otherwise. As in all matters, control was ever key.

The battle began to shift as some of the world's more powerful defenders entered the fray. Brushing aside his forces like so man leaves, a number of the most powerful had already set their sights on his erstwhile ally. Even as the metallic bodies of his minions shattered, however, Vitus reaped benefits. Data poured in from every deployed unit, assessment of their own performance and that of their opponents, strength and weakness alike, was stored and analyzed. Victory was not the goal, not here, not yet. Knowledge was the prize to be claimed this day, and this he would have, whatever outcome the battle presented.

A clawed hand descended to the control panel, a few almost casual orders being transmitted. "Send in the second wave. Earth's defenders must be pushed to exert their powers more fully. Initiate self-repair protocols." Within moments, his words became actions, and a second legion of the mechanical horrors rose from their hidden position and descended upon the city, even as those units which had not been fully destroyed began to pull themselves back together through their necrotite technology and rose to begin their fight anew.

"Not good!" Jack exclaimed seeing the enemy repair itself. He began to swing his scythe at them running at them full speed. But not long after he would cut them apart they'd reform. He resorted to cold bones and changed into the skeleton with a blue glow. An army of ghostlike executioners surrounded him to destroy the ones who returned. Nevertheless He in no way could win this on his own.

Bradshaw

"Glorious."

Bradshaw said, listening to the situation report of what was going on all around him in this chaotic scene. One of the worst case scenarios had been a teleporter. They weren't hit as hard as could but they'd still hundreds of M.O.R.S as enemies wasted no time in engaging them, more powerful opponents swatting them away like flies. There were times when it was the wisest and most ideal choice to make a tactical retreat. To regroup and to live to fight another day.

This was not one of those times.

@magic_man_

The men whipped around to face this thing moving towards them at high speed, alerted by satellites and their command above of the general presence of any speedster. Their eyes were human and they couldn't even process him running towards him but, with their typical training and adeptness in "aim dodging" used to dodge a single lightspeed attack if need be, cleared a path. Bradshaw, briefly looked at the man whizz by, Air pressure disorted as he sent the machine flying practically in pieces at hilarious, nigh cartoonish speed towards a structure with such force as the structure to break apart, supports shattered through sheer kinetic impact. The structure toppling onto the the thing's remains as dust blows about. Through, Bradshaw walks, the winds just slowing him down as the rest of his men focus on keeping their balance while the ground seemingly quakes.

The two machines standing there are gunned down with seemingly unconventional rounds moving at mach 10. They bulletstraveled like meteorites, igniting the air with their speed as they didn't just pierce their targets, but disintegrated most whatever they hit.

"Don't like holding back huh?" The men begin to mutter "oh boy" as Bradshaw looks at the man, thinking he was going to scold him. Unafraid despite being "Just a human" with no magic or metahuman abilities. Just "a whole lotta firepower." "You know fast these things came? How we haven't even had a chance to magically evacuate everyone? Just because skelator is plowing through buildings doesn't mean you should too. Cool and intimidating as you wanna look? Psychological warfare only works so well on enemies who don't care about dying. We want to stop this here and some destruction can't be helped.

But what are you here for?" As the dust clears, the two machines downed earlier are shown to be healed, and behind them, a psion appears, reassembling the machine earlier and even assembling the collapsed structure into something of a body. Armor. A body of concrete and steel that becomes as tall as the structure it makes. A single step is all it takes for the ground to quake and aspalt to fissure. "Look like a badass, or save people?"

With that, Bradshaw aimed behind himself. Firing a shot at the monster with nothing more than an M1911, the gun was not abnormal. What was abnormal about it were the bullets, filled with Hafnium. Small as the bullet was, the explosion was enourmous, as the towering monster was utterly obliterated, gamma rays and X-Rays flying everywhere. Tearing apart his matter at the molecular level, utterly distingrating everything caught in within the radius and blasting away everything else.

"Wanna try to Rambo this? Go ahead. But let's both stay out each other's way. Maybe even try to help each other out."

Noticing enemy forces gathering, he takes a few steps as he dissappears dust cloud seemingly gone as the cyborg is surrounded by deathborne, perhaps five or so, his inert nature warranting them to wait. But for what one might asked? For the Psion. The man had shown a great display of speed and strength. But they sought to test him further. From an alleyway, a lone Psion sought to grab the man telekinetically. Not to crush or destroy him. Or even throw him. Just levitate him into the air.

And from there, they sought to make his speed useless by taking his legs from the ground. From there, the Deathborne would aim their weapons towards them, firing pure necromantic energy that sought to ignore this man's durability and drain his life force directly.

@apex_

"Alright. We're calling you back. I have a particular mission for you, Apex. We sent Nemaz out into the city and believe he might have been ambushed. He's sent out a tracking signal but he won't pick up. We need you to find him and if possible support him. If he's dead, confirm it. Either way, I need to know A.S.A.P. as that thing was in the area. The area is riddled with class 4s. People of mass destruction, and potential cosmic entities. The Average enemy is a class 3. Augmented Strength, some kind of weapon that bypasses body armor. From the way they say it looks, we see some kind of energy trail with each hit go from the one hit. So we suspect it supernatural drains "Life force" or "Esoteric" energies from whoever it hits.

Guess that just means we have to actually take cover. Heh. Rely on instinct, not armor. Good thing you've never been a fan of anything heavy ,isn't that right, Apex?"Bradshaw mused over the radio, gun fire audible in the background

"Your abilities make you one of the best. Porting around enemies. Another enemy you have to worry about is their telekinetics. Weakest ones throw cars. We have seen some down buildings with their fingers and cause internal damage to our M.O.R.S. I heard people looking one over with untouched skin but heart, liver, lungs, kidneys and every blood vessel imploded. They don't seem to be immune to being shot and we've been catching them on guard. But only engage if absolutely necessary.

In essence, find, Nemaz and be careful. Got it? Good. Hope you aren't scared."He taunted as he hung up.

General Activity

Maverick watched it all unfold, from below and above. The storm hindering their sight on the city from above that allowed for them to watch and be aware of everything that happened. Communication became more difficult and in this weather, flying was more unwise and dangerous due to the presence of the lightning storm. Not only this, but their enemy caught them completely off guard. Never would Maverick suspect such a large number of foes to appear practically spontaneously. They have repelled many a foe, Asgardian and Mutant terrorist alike. But these enemies had something others lacked. They were not simply only raw power.

They were tactical.

And this gave them the edge for quite some time, until others appeared to help Maverick. The nature of (@solarius) indeed allowed Maverick time to regroup and orient themselves, abusing their high mobility to move about the city more easily about rooftops, along the side of walls. Nothing would quite hinder them enough as walls of plasma formed.

The M.O.R.S.
The M.O.R.S.

The M.O.R.S. were the bulk of Maverick's presence here. While the casualties were high, a bulk of them were the M.O.R.S. then main force opposing the Deathborn, they became something of support for neighboring "heroes." Ensuing the Deathborne stayed down when destroyed, often able to take parts of the machines and burn with nanothermite or simply scattering their parts if they had no grenades. As well as generally gathering battle Data and relaying it to the base.

Ironically unlike the Deathborne, the M.O.R.S. had no soul. No true consciousness. No hatred driving them. Only programming in their wholly organic bodies. They listened to commands and friendlies were marked and tagged. Currently, their numbers were among 125,000 and was dropping. For a scale of reference, the entire U.S. Marine Battlion numbers around the army had regenerative capacity, but not to the extent of what the others had.

@maya_summers

Their eyes go up as the M.O.R.S. primarily, watch her activity, watching what she does and relaying it to the rest of Maverick. Categorizing the woman's energy based powers, a rough gauge of her durability and noting her healing factor. However, most important, she was a none hostile entity. Seemingly their to help, they responded by moving aggressively towards enemies, pushing forward as she drew their fire, they drew the enemy's fire from her to allow her to better retaliate. Armor piercing bullets range through the air, lasers and most loudly from Maverick forces, hypersonic bullets whirred through the air. Simply, bullets that traveled at speeds akin to a railgun of mach 10 or greater.

Their enemies? However, were particularly fond of using their seemingly magical weapons. Use on Maverick soldiers showed that it bypassed their body armor. The same body armor that could simply reflect or deflect lasers, and enable them to walk through plasma, was practically useless before this "Necromantic energy" that so drained their life force with every hit and drew it into their tanks.

@jackalantern

The Mavericks watched him for quite some time, unsure of whether or not to shoot the man or to let him be their ally. His size of twelve feet tall made him seemingly an appealing target if an enemy and he began to draw a good amount of the deathborne to his location. However, his spirits garnered the attention of the psions. One of whom appeared, looked towards him and assaulted them with psionic energy. Humans, they were invisible to this breed of telepaths, but the supernatural entities and other telepathes were like beacons to them.

However, M.O.R.S. appeared, standing near him as they fired as drew the deathborne's fire away from him. Leaving mainly the psion for him to deal with. With but his mind, the teenage boy picked a car and then tossed towards the pumpkin headed opponent.

Bold

@maxwell_hastings

"Huh. Hey look, it's Maxy."

Bold looked down on from his office. His hands behind his back as his soldiers outside held the line, their density in this area less than obvious as they remained hidden in builds and sewers to engage their foes, a seemingly unending wall of bullets leaving literally no room for anything to walk. The streets were riddled with mines triggered by practically anything that touched them. Laser fire gunned down practically anything that appeared before them, the men forced to take cover from the death borne's strikes.

Fearlessly, Bold walked outside his body weakened from his fight with Maxwell's father, he couldn't possibly fight this army on his own. Indeed, that is why Maverick existed at all. The M.O.R.S. they were replaceable, and arguably not alive. But experience, loyalty, tactical awareness and intuition that his men had. The ability to simply "know without being told" made the humans and augmented humans. Bold was vulnerable, and he enjoyed it. Not knowing what was going to happen next, being able to actually die. Grim however, was his outlook on the city. People dying left and right. The corporation faired well, but could the same be said for the people? They regrouped and were helped by the heroes.

Seemingly, the men recognized him and allowed him through, not targeting him as he was allowing him through. Bold looked at him as he came onto the rooftop casually leaning by a bolt of necro energy. Looking up, enemy forces had begun to send a second wave. And those in this army not wholly destroyed began to reassemble themselves. Still, Maverick forces held, anti-air craft

"Oh boy."

@maverick_6: The car hit him square in the head causing him to stagger back throwing up dirt from it. His head shattered but reformed in a few seconds and he stood staring angrily at the one who managed to crush his head. He sent out two of his executioners at him while cutting furiously at the machines to get closer to this telekinetic who attacked him.

@maverick_6: Todd was surprised by the Maverick soldiers firepower, their guns did a lot for being simple weapons. Todd smirked a bit when the soldier spoke,

"I'm here because my guild wants me here, and these monsters seem strong. As Fairy Tail's number one monster hunter it's my job to kill these things. As for the other people here, I'll try and keep the destruction contained. No promises though."

The troops left and Todd went back to fighting, there were five of them. That meant either a prolonged fight or a quick one, he opted for the former. His leg joints began to buzz and whir as he stepped forward, his foot hit air. He was levitating and now the weird bots were firing beam esq weapons at him. His scanners began going crazy, telling him his Lacrima was going into higher production levels.

"So your weapons they drain the energy from a persons body. Sucks for you that mine is a lot harder to drain dry."

Todd extended one arm and aimed it straight at the ground, he fired off a fire bolt equivalent to an anti ship ASM. The explosion ripped through the ground and everything around it, the force shot Todd's body into the air. He was now a little bit higher then the other buildings, he clamped his hands together and pointed them downwards. This next shot would have enough power and heat to disintegrate everything within and around the point of impact.

"Hell rose explosion"

multiple mechanical parts extended increasing the size of his arms and releasing an insane amount of magic power. It hit the ground with the force of a nuke, exploding on contact and sending a shock wave outwards that leveled a few buildings. Everything within the blast was sent into pieces from the force, following that a heat that didn't just melt but disintegrated followed. Todd kept the explosion controlled within a small blast radius. The fire turned into a small mushroom cloud before dissipating, Todd's body hit the ground creating a crater but not hurting him. What was once a few buildings and some robots had become a barren piece of land with nothing left inside. Todd rolled his head and his gears whirred, he took off leaving the empty space behind.

"I said I would keep it contained."

He shouted hoping the solider would hear him.

@maverick_6: Maxwell had found Bold, he had also noticed that there was a sort of strategic retreat followed by an increase in the number of enemy soldiers. He had encountered a few on his way here and well, they didn't make it. The rooftops were relatively safe which meant the ground was basically lava, Bold didn't seem to be afraid of Lava. Max walked up to him and his weapons turned back into magic.

"Bold, we've had our differences in the past and while you may not know it, I was always against my father. Things just had to look like I was until I was able to get to him. As for the situation now I've deduced two things. The first is that this isn't the work of the Acolytes, the second is that I'm the best chance your army has of pushing these things back. I've picked up a few new tricks"

Maxwell raised his arms and lowered his head, his hands began to glow as he spoke.

"Vernier, Armis, Praesidium"

Maxwells arms became cloaked in a red aura, his legs in a blue, and his entire body in a yellow.

"These spells double a persons physical ability for a short time. If you have a way for me to channel energy and send it out to your soldiers then we may stand a chance against this threat. If not then the only thing I would ask you to do would be to focus a defensive perimeter and let me and an associate of mine handle the big guy in the middle."

Maxwell awaited a response, either option was planned and calculated for. The only issue was getting to the big boss and making sure they didn't get torn apart.

@maverick_6:

"Oh crap. I'm late." The voice of two barely managed to be heard over a barrage of sound, as battle erupted over the expanses of Colorado. Joey Beckham floated down now, eyeing the different forces carefully. Robots. Interesting. Maverick. Interesting. A pack full of weird-ass metahumans? Now, this would make for a story. But first, he had to get an idea of what exactly was going on. In one corner, metas and Maverick. In the other corner, robots and some telekinetic bozo. Perfect. It'd been too long since he'd seen a good fight, and Joey had the feeling that this was just the one that would get his name in all the papers.

The weather was an added bonus. Wet and rainy and perfect for conducting electricity, the Destroyer of Worlds identified the fact that everyone here would be soaking in water, and could easily be shocked if a lightning storm were to break out. Even better, he was going up against robots! METAL robots! They attracted his blasts even better...

But first, he needed a strategy. And luckily for Joey, he knew a strategist.

THIS IS A TERRIBLE IDEA.An all too familiar voice shook in the depths of Joey's mind, almost making him wince from the skull-splitting headache that it caused.

"No it's not, Zeus. Shut up." Speeding down towards the ground level, he raced towards the front line of Maverick soldiers before slowing and stopping immediately ahead of them- making sure he stood in the way of any gunfire. Hands on his hips and a wide grin, he spoke with a booming voice that would be sure to be heard by all around them. To make his entrance even more impressive, he summoned blasts of lightning from the skies, blasts that struck the ground behind him in wide arcing patterns in an attempt to destroy any of the immediate robotic men around them.

"Hiya, gents! I'm looking for Bold. We're best friends. And I'm willing to help." A lie. He and Bold were not friends- as a matter of fact, they had barely met each other. Back in Nebraska, they both fought against a madman known as Adrian Hastings, an alien threat. And now, it seemed the two were going against another alien threat, though whether or not Bold would be willing to work together was questionable.

Either way, Joey needed to find someone that knew what the hell was going on, and then he needed to kick some alien ass.

@asmodeus_prime:

"I said he should try and get involved with the other heroics. Bro is the strongest after all." The young Mai commented to her grandma as the duo watched live news covering the event in Denver. Mai had been sitting on the floor working on a three dimensional rose puzzle as they watched enjoying the engaging brain teaser. She already knew what granny was going to say so she did her best to occupy herself. Mai of course wanted to help or cheer her brother on but who'd see to having a ten year old delivered to a war zone.

"And to a degree you may be right little one and he can do so. But there is no chance I'd let you go there. What's a child's place in the world of war and vigilantism? I'd say there isn't one, you should be trying to enjoy the early years of life." Mai couldn't help but look up to granny in a way, she was so calm and collected so often. Her parents from those years ago were of a natural sort taking easy stances as often as cold ones. Something about being older and having more experience in life aloud granny to always have a composure that was admirable in a way.

Meanwhile elsewhere in Denver a mixture of violet light and pixelized particles manifested within the streets. Do to Mai wanting to help but not having the chance her mutation was triggered. She herself didn't even know of her ability but never the less it had triggered and what was done was an act of drawing herself from essentially the future. Brought forward was an aspect of herself that in a way her present day counter part wouldn't believe. And who would blame her given the Lonelyflower's look.

Arriving in the material plane Flower was instantly greeted by the miasma of war. Rubber burned and buildings fell the streets beginning to collect bodies from the ongoing confrontation. Smoke flooded the air from the fires of conflict and wreckage being built up. Even her experience in her own time Flower hadn't had to react to such a grave situation. Her stomach churned at such sights repulsed by what she had to witness. She could stand what was witnessed because in her azure eyes she'd viewed worse at a much younger age. The moment she was introduced to her hero was the silver lining to a nightmare. Because of this Mai could stand tall amongst the horror around her.

Drawing her vermillion blade Mai was quickly met by a legion of mechanized figures with guns raised before her. Looking closely gave a malicious corpse like impression. And in a instant before she could take action they had opened fire green streams of energy lanced through the air and began to slam into the slim figure before them. Even with her speed at times with her questionable uniforms ability to tap into her power she knew she wouldn't be able to evade them all. Impact after impact Mai found the reaction wasn't there, no burns wounds or even blood. Do to her status in this world she wasn't able to have her soul targeted. The soul this universe associated with Mai was somewhere in Japan with a ten year old. While the young adult being shot wasn't even in possession of her soul alone.

Her retaliation came through the use of the Divine Water of techniques of a obscure martial arts. Through this Mai could exploit an element of muscle control so fine and precise that it would generate a reaction of air pressure alone. What followed was a dozen swings of the sword but generated far more through the process of Divine Water. Fingers danced along the blade hilt generating slicing currents through the air, resulting in the ripping apart of the opposition. However though her blade met no resistance the mechanized forces were beginning to recover almost immediately. Do to the nature of her existence she couldn't be harmed by the necrotic energy, however the machines could recover quickly from her blows. The result was a stalemate as a more melee based fighter she couldn't gain any ground here.

Reluctantly Mai dashed off leaping to a roof and looking to dart to the leading figure of this engagement. Much as she hated leaving the armed forces to somebody else she had to react to what she might be able to put down. There was also the desire to help the people but her abilities wouldn't likely lend their way to that. Soon enough before her was the rubble of a building orbiting a elderly looking figure, a way he carried himself had a gravitas. He was the spearhead of this operation the heroic teen could tell.

"You know monologues are fun but they ain't me. I just want to say hipster Gandalf you's a bitch." Mai though eager to cut this warmonger down knew from her bro that jumping the gun could be problematic. The lonesome flower while no genius, knew some tactful thinking was needed. Fun as acting in a reckless fashion was it wasn't the ideal entrance.

So we suspect it supernatural drains "Life force" or "Esoteric" energies from whoever it hits." Alex had been just finishing a shower after an elongated training section when the message rang out in head thanks to the communicative tattoo. However business called and the reality was the actions in the Shogunate didn't justify staying back from the situation. So she once more loaded up her gear and prepared for the ordeal to come. Once done a portal was opened and the archer entered the conflict raging in the streets.

"Guess that just means we have to actually take cover. Heh. Rely on instinct, not armor. Good thing you've never been a fan of anything heavy ,isn't that right, Apex?"Bradshaw joked mid firefight.

"I prefer natural cover anyway. No what's better then armor that can take the shot? Not getting shot in the first place." Alex remarked making light of the ordeal. As tragic as these fights were the archer found humor aided in the ordeal. She was still new to the sight of warzones, she was young and novice to the context of war. Letting it break her sanity, or get to her however was contradicting to staying composed in the situation.

But only engage if absolutely necessary." It was long winded but Alex did appreciate it as it gave her all the details necessary to navigate the forces of the ongoing conflict. "In essence, find, Nemaz and be careful. Got it? Good. Hope you aren't scared."

"Well personally I think it's my level head and marksmanship that make me valuable thanks for selecting me just for my ability to play Portal." Alex remarked as she navigated roof tops looking to reach Namaz. "However heard you used to be abrasive to the x gene and here you are embracing the use of a mutant. That's sweet of you good job Brad." The archer from then on focused on moving about the battlefield outside of the primarily ground based firefights. As Alex traversed the area she also did all she could to cast portal after portal.

Each portal led outside of the town looking to direct the public away from the danger surounding them. Again and again she used the goggles of Maverick and all their sight assistance to identify where these people were. Alex had been able to teleport vast distance and amounts of people without effort. The amount of portals casted were actually beginning to show strain on her body. Sweat built up from a strenuous attempt to lend a hand to the people in a situation where she could. Soon enough the archer landed beside a fellow soldier doing her best not to gag at the sight before herself. "Need me to take you to the ER for some stitches? Granted you could of been shooting while prone don't be lazy." As horrific as the sight was Alex tried to provide a smile and calm demeanor to a friend and brother in arms. It probably wasn't the end for Nemaz however trauma could develop psychologically from such a wound. Her hand checked his pulse and worked on bandaging the sound with haste to try and prevent blood loss. Useful as teleporting was it still was easy to bleed out while cut in half. Meanwhile Alex's thoughts lingered on staying alert not to far from them was the man who'd inflicted such harm, who'd also soon be engaged with a hand full of powerhouses. It'd be easy for two soldiers to get caught up in the various collisions of combating titans.

The flickering lights of the room gave the meeting a somewhat somber atmosphere, Toshiro's usual wrathful stare following the fat man's movements from left to right, as he patiently awaited, reclining on a rather uncomfortable wooden chair. After a few minutes of utter muteness, the silence was finally broken by an abrupt revelation. "<I'm sending you off earlier, Toshiro... That's all.>" Hot-blooded as he was, the Deathless Delinquent instantaneously rose from his seat, menacingly snorting and eyeing the overweight person. "<Ya know I can't lose this job, right, boss? Lil' sis is so freakin' happy on this weird-ass, testosterone-smellin' dojo... She says she wanna be as strong as me, but, well, y'know, granny doesn't have all the money in the world, so that stuff can only happen if someone else pays for it. I've been workin' the last few weeks here without tellin' anyone, helpin' ya out with rebuildin' whatever I break on the invasions or just workin' on new projects, ya can't send me off like that! I need the money, boss...>" Despite coming off aggressively to most, Toshiro wasn't as violent as many painted him, even if only a selective few could actually see past the hardened carapace encompassing him. Thankfully, his boss was one of those, where people saw a spoiled, powerful brat, that wise elder saw a passionate kid, desperate to help others and especially loyal to one little princess he had rescued long ago.

Deep down, all he wanted was to see the people around him smiling.

The old man chuckled, his belly bouncing as if it were some sort of jelly. "<It's not that, Toshiro. You've been of great help, I'm not firing you... Tell me, kid, have you seen the news?"

-------------

Sorry, lil' Mai, yer big bro ain't gonna be back early today. Promise we'll do somethin' fun when I arrive. The wind buffets against his non-nonsense visage as water parts away at every extremely expeditious step. He didn't have time to pass home and grab his favorite bat, neither did he had to watch the news. Apparently, some astonishingly powerful beings were tearing Denver apart, that placed craved for heroes, but the pleads of the dying people were hardly answered as only a handful of figures emerged to safeguard the city. It was a ridiculously hazardous situation, one more story he'd tell Mai once he got back. Perhaps this one would ultimately be the one with an actual fight. It wasn't easy to tell, but deep inside, his heart raced in excitement for a proper challenge.

His shoes finally met the scorching sand of the beach, a rather tropical city with many good-looking people staring in a mixture of panic and bewilderment as the sheer strength of the wind blowed a handful of sunbathers away, Toshiro came to a complete halt, glass forming underneath and around his feet as one hand reached for his nape, scratching it. He cocked a brow, surprised at the peacefulness of the paralyzed locals and the intact background ahead. "<Y'know, this place doesn't seem like it's under attack...>" He paused, using his average knowledge of English to ask around where he had arrived. Shockingly enough, the outstanding beaches of Rio de Janeiro weren't even close to Denver. "<Oooohhhh... Yeah, I kinda forgot... Where thefluff is Denver?!>"

-------------

"<Lucky seven, it's always the lucky seven...>" He muttered, stopping at the apocalyptic-like city of Denver. The asphalt cracked, the tumultuous multitudes fleeing desperately from some sort of robotic-looking monstrosities, sapping people of their vitality in some strange process Toshiro didn't quite comprehend, the descending hail smashing into smithreens at first contact with his skin. If he once seemed excited, now he was straightforwardly pissed, he had ran around in circles for a couple of minutes now, and even came to realize he had absolutely no idea about how to rush back to Japan.

Both hands sheltered on his obsidian, traditional uniform, the crimson sweater moistened by the water befalling from above. The enemies were too slow, he had planned to have a little bit of fun, yet, now, he just couldn't be more hasty, effortlessly dodging anything they threw at him as he flicked petite rocks at them with just enough might to shatter through the metallic coating. Not that it had any effect, as soldiers kept healing in an incredibly rapid rate. As soon as he encountered himself swarmed, he'd slam his fists against the air in a sigh, scattering the enemy forces as he continued his slow-paced stride.

"<Oi, oi, what is that chick doin'? Dressed like that in such a rain... Ya think ya know 'bout everythin', but the world just shoves somethin' new right in your face. No idea why heroines can't wear, like, normal clothes?>" The remark came as his eyes met some oddly familiar-looking kid in a tasteless spandex costume, as well as the soaring blode firing beams of energy up in the skies. Toshiro yawned. "<I better find whoever's behind this, see what all the fuss is 'bout and rush back home when I'm finished. Five minutes, givin' it five minutes.>"

Asmodeus moved, floating through the air as primarily, M.O.R.S. shot at him with hypersonic rounds, testing the strength of his field. Normal bullets couldn't penetrate the vortex at all. Hypersonic ones simply exploded from sheer kinetic energy but showed no signs of actually impeding the fierce orbiting matter. Buildings came apart on contact, ripped into pieces as shrapnel of steel and concrete scattered everywhere, destroying M.O.R.S. and anything else caught in it's path. Rockets and meant to tear holes through skyscrapers and punch through the most potent of alien shielding. Megajoules of energy. Multi-thousand ton impacts meant to send metahumans flying away at speeds of several hundred meters per second if it did not piece.

He looked down, a near by being who had immense amounts of energy within the confines of his body immediately warranted his attention. A man clad in all black with long white hair and one large wing. He struck the soldiers that opposed him down, establishing his intention as he faced the voidgazer. He had his attention. However, he could not hear him because the noise from the hypersonic vortex was too strong. Hardly anything physical had so far penetrated. Not sound, although psionic waves could leave. As could light. Because without light, he couldn't see.

@twin_dragons_

Hmmm?

"Before you try and dismantle me let me just tell you that I am not your enemy. Not yet anyway, you serve a purpose I need and thus I'm not here to fight you. However, you should know that two people who could stand a chance against you have entered this battle and I am sure there are more on the way. That's where I come in, I offer my assistance in exchange for a favor from you. I will provide you my five strongest soldiers in exchange you will grant me your assistance if I ever need to call upon it."

His lips curled slowly, a wry smile taking formation on his face. The inside of the vortex was a vaccuum but thoughts of what he had given the impression of amused him. Sadistically, he'd looked around the city. Powers gathering, and he laughed within his forcefield. Not at the man who offered him help but to them.

"Of course they came. As I knew they would. "A victorious warrior wins first, then goes to war." As the humans say Though to be struck down now would be...dissatisfying. However, do not attempt to swindle me, one winged angel. I know of deals such as this. I will accept, but only if you do not seek to strike down any enemy I gather or endanger my world, my allies or my objective, then I will aid you. My offer is final."Rarely did the Elysian Emperor give his word to such deals. He was someone who made deals, and knew their workings. Their intricacies and workings, known well to him.

"Hm."

@lonelyflower

The mouth on this one.

Indeed, this was something it seemed that the man spoke of. Someone with great power. Great capacity. Perhaps even, she alone may possess the ability to strike him down by herself. He expected her to actually attack but she did no such thing. Telepathically was perhaps the only way he could hear her comment. He couldn't read her lips because there was too much in the way of fierce winds and a violently whirling miasma of rock, steam, water, air and a neat, condensed loop of molten plasma.

He raised his staff, a smile on his face as from seemingly nowhere 3 swords appeared within existence, floating about his frame, perhaps as durable as steel. Each blade moved independently, awaiting order before he pointed towards the girl. The blades moved through the vortex unimpeded, as if it wasn't there. A rather large slab of stone goes in one swords way, and it goes through it. Not cutting as a normal blade does, more it simply phases in.

Only as durable as steel, these blades however sought to endlessly seek out the girl and simply phase into her body, then solidify into whatever they could so reach, moving at perhaps sixty miles per hour.

@gale_xanders

He looked up a blinding flash of light heading for him, a smile creeping onto his lips as he already knew the composition of the material simply by glancing towards it. A rippling blast wave of ionized matter smashed into his forcefield. Causing further air to ionize. Water flashed into steam, stone into slag and more plasma. It swallowed him whole, however, soon, the energized air began to take an odd and unorthodox form, revealing the sphere was still completely in place. The attack was shown to be ineffective due to the fact that the Harbinger boasted a control of matter with the mind. Plasma, the most common form of matter, the matter that composes stars? It was still matter. And he could control the steamed water, furious winds, molten rock and fiery plasma all the same, as all of it twirled in unison in the vortex of Asmodeus.

Another attack came however, this time, instead of being thermal in nature, it was kinetic and the impact had differing effects. The rocks, propelled at speeds compared to cannonballs, had approximately the same effect as the onslaught of missiles and artillery fire. It perhaps move the "vortex" or cause it shift. Perhaps, cause dents millimeters in length before being torn into pieces by what was no longer wind, but controlled, hypersonic blast waves. However, another attack came composed of light acting as though matter, moving at such speeds and being so little afflicted by the air.

Irritation forms on the Emporers eyes beneath his mask, as he detects another attack coming towards him. Asmodeus did not just detect the energy present within people, but objects as well. Kinetic energy. Potential energy. The energy stored within chemical bonds, and things beyond chemical bombs. He could sense that the nuclear bomb aimed towards him, carried by some soldier, would strain him if they fired it. And these entites seemed to possess energy far in excess of that. This tactic may wane off the fleet of foot but it had garnered enough attention for different tactics.

"No matter."

He let go of the field. The winds continuing to swirl, plasma dissapating and blooming into the air as it resumes it's ordinary state of matter. With a thought, he dissappears.

Earth's Orbit

He appears within the soundless vaccuum of space, able to sustain himself. He was only perhaps three hundred miles up. Still, his power was enough. He looked about the empty void, before dissappearing again. Teleporting to and fro, searching. Until he found one, a large satellite perhaps, the size of a house. Numbering at roughly 70 or so tons.

Excellent. This will do.

He moved closer to it, his psionic power amplified the closer an object in question was to his body. He floated over to the object, his sadistic grin wide on his face as he made intricate trajectory calculations in his mind. Slowly, he seemed float contemplatively in a way akin to pacing on one's feet. His mischevious lips curled wider as he looked towards the storm that Denver had and thus made his choice. He positioned himself ideally. His cackling concealed by the lack of air to transmit sound through which it could be heard. He extedended his hand towards the craft, his not unlike that of an insect before it sized. A closed fist held out towards it, as in essence.

He flicked it with his index finger.

The true impact came not from Asmodeus' physical might, more it can from his psionic strength. The energy of the impact was telekinetic in nature and distributed among the craft so as to not rupture it. Immediately after, it began to descend and fall back towards the earth, propelled downward at supersonic speeds of perhaps mach two and greater upon impact. Not too soon after, it would break speeds of mach 5, accelerated by earth's gravity. And only get faster and faster. He dusted off his hand, smiling before he blinked again.

Denver

"Now where was I...? Ah yes."

His eyes fell on the sun goddess and the binary, knowledge of across the cosmos, as well as the nature of her power, made Asmodeus deem her the greater threat of the two. He knew of her invulnerability, but cared not for it. Indeed, one facet of such durability was the amount of energy required to sustain it

@the_custodian

He blinked behind her instantly, a black spear in his hand, devoid of matter. Devoid of energy. It was a nothingness. The great Harbinger sought to shove the spear towards her to rob her of energy itself. The spear swallowed light, decayed matter, removed oxygen and froze everything within it's immediate vicinity. What the spear lacked in size, it had in the magnitude of lack of energy would have simply froze the life out of any entity. However, his desire was only to stun her, before blinking away.

Immediately, his psions warned him of another threat, one who actually did something that truly could bring harm to the Harbinger, help people. If left unchecked, this woman (@maya_summers) threatened his potential objectives. For Asmodeus to hope to garner more power, despair had to be high. For it was through despair that he could.

"Your efforts to preserve life, are futile. The weak, shall always perish! Salvation may only come through power. And power yet presents itself to you. If you wish to truly escape your fate, concede! Take the power that is brought forth towards you!"

Temporarily, Asmodeus shifted towards his golden form, feathers extruding from his body as he sought to augment his psionic power greater. Wtih but a gesture, he lifted an entire structure from the ground, plucking an entire high rise from the ground as if the city could be compared more a field of flowers, rather than a city. His hand reared back, his energy flowing from his body as he threw it towards one of the woman's dupes. The one specifically that he targeted was the one who had been assigned to heal and protect civilians.

He teleported down now to ground level, his body becoming aged once more as he resumes previous form. During no point of this attack would he raise his shield. Indeed, every action he took required energy, focus. To make a barrier and then attempt to lift something? His power would be divided. Naturally, he would create a weaker barrier and be able to lift far less. So he opted for none. This time, only wishing for pure offense.

His mind went out as the second wave came, his power would grow. Annoyingly, his forces were being thinned out by the Maverick soldiers following many a hero around, doucing enemies with superconducting plasma explosions and nanothermite to finish them. But what much did it mean? Half the men were fighting and the rest of them were trying to start some sort of evacuation. But, he aligned the deathborne in such a way as to harvest them, as psions focused on aiding those deathborne in regeneration.

Seemingly inevitably, the civillians moved over one area, an area that Asmodeus had begun to notice had the densest concentration of Maverick forces. He leaned forward, his smile now turned into a more poker-faced stare of contemplation, as he watched for how these "heroes" reacted. His telekinesis in an offense state to be used freely now against any object he so perceives.

Let us put you all to the test.

He vibrates the air to produce sound, his voice now boom over the entirety of the city as he raises his staff, producing a bright light. Giving away his location in the sky blatantly. As he keeps not of all of the higher powers in the area.

"Show me your true power!"

Solaris hovered quietly for a moment when she realized the extent of his powers. Manipulation of matter. Interesting, but notice the lack of a shield when he's... She paused her thought process and glanced up at the sound of an approaching object, the satellite. Solaris had one of two options, tank the hit and then shove it back into space or try and destroy it before it ever reached her. The combined heat of re-entry and her own power would be more than enough but there was a chance molten hot debris would rain down on the city anyway. Solaris flew up into the air to meet and the two collided head on with a resounding crash. The impact drove her back towards the ground at high speeds and she was very nearly driven into the ground. Instead of slamming into the ground and doing untold damage Solaris arrested her descent just enough that her feet touched the ground and for a moment she stood like Superman in one of the old comics, holding the remains of the satellite above her head and gritting her teeth as she put all of her superhuman ability into arresting her fall and holding up the object.

No Caption Provided

Solaris slowly gained complete control over the device and lifted it completely above her head before tossing it to the side in an area where it would do no damage to anyone. Solaris looked up at the dark sky and dusted her hands off, trying to ignore the fact that her hands were scratched from the bending metal at the point of impact. The darkness is already starting to take effect, it's only a matter of time now. The Living Star took flight again and resumed her original position.

Ok...so it looks like he's only capable of offensive or defensive abilities not both at the same time. He's not good at multi-tasking and more than a little arrogant...if we can overwhelm him he won't be able to keep this parade of destruction up for very long. Strange that he seems to be going after the people rescuing...civilians... Solaris' eyes flashed as she had a realization. She didn't know exactly why the civilians mattered but for some reason he's concerned about the civilians, doesn't like them being saved but he's not going out of his way to murder them all either. I don't know what the connection is but if he's going to try to stop the civilians from being protected then that's where I need to focus my efforts with the time I have left.

Distracted as she'd been there was nothing she could do to stop the building that had been thrown...

---------------------------------------------------

Someone else could though. The Custodian was aware of the danger the spear presented and collected her thoughts as it flew towards her. He doesn't want the civilians to find hope. Fascinating. He's not able to manipulate everything at once either, offense or defense... She shifted to the side and caught the spear. She could immediately feel its draining effects but the weapon would never kill her, there was only one way to kill a Binary and she didn't currently have one. She clutched the spear tightly in one hand as it sought to drain her immense energy and the reached out towards the building flying towards @maya_summers 's aide in healing. The Custodian closed her eyes and began the work of changing the building's path. It very nearly struck its target when it was completely arrested, hovering in mid air just inches from its target. The Custodian was visibly fatigued from the combined effort and spear but she didn't care. With another push of effort she sent the building hurdling up into space.

With one final gathering of her inner strength and determination to help the planet her brother so prized, The Custodian built a sheath of light while Asmodeous' attention was elsewhere and expanded it into a sphere with an opening at the back. She had seen that he might be able to manipulate light so never once allowed it to cover the spear entirely, instead it was there for only one purpose, to blind him to the spear's presence. At the last moment she flung the spear forward towards the very man that had sent it to her in the first place. The light traveled ahead of it, a blinding wave of pure white light that shown brighter than the stars themselves.

The Custodian allowed herself a moment to rest at last, it would take some time to regain her full strength but it was a price she was willing to pay. No one else on the battlefield could pay the same price and live, so it had fallen to her to ensure none else were struck by the weapon, at least not while it was going in her direction. She drifted down to the ground to catch her breath and regain her strength. With a glance she shifted her gaze to Solaris and the two met eyes for a moment. No words were needed between ancient allies and Solaris simply nodded in agreement with a plan that was never vocalized.

---------------------------------------------------

Hope, it was so hard to come by, so hard to control during times of crisis. Hope, optimism, the enemies of dread and fear but always so easy to push aside. Unfortunately for Asmodeous hope and optimism had a living embodiment...and she happened to work for Maverick. Sentinel Hawk knew when she was outclassed, instead she tended to the wounded and walked among the civilians to offer reassuring smiles and gentle touches when they were needed. With the deeply wounded she would stop, cut her hand and allow her healing blood to flow over the wound and restore health and vitality where it had been draining away before. She kept her mace close at hand but had no intention of directly fighting the man that had brought this conflict to Denver.

"Shit" Mai remarked as she caught a glimpse of someone near by. Then came a thought said aloud in the Flower's native tongue resulting in another "shit." It was around then it sank in what was said that she bit her lip blushed and did her best to look well anywhere put the fellow native of the land of the rising sun. How was she going to go about this.

<"Um. So yeah. I had a boyfriend who could fashion costumes. No that sounds bad. Um it relies on its firm and scarce design to properly access the x gene. No that sounds like bull shit. Ummmm so turns out I've an x gene crazy right, I mean your me is probably playing with a puzzle right now not even aware she summoned me."> She paused within her tripping failure of an explenation. <"So uh thanks for being such a great bro know your everything for the little one right?">Even the sweet thanks dealt to her like a failure in the moment. Didn't help that the blushing woman was actually about a year older then who she saw as her older brother and hero in this context. Her finger twirled her vermillion dyed lock of hair remembering those days when Toshi did it for her, an act also made weird because in this timeline he still did.

"Okay I suck at this. <Save some fools, kick in some faces of anyone with a space gun or who's a cultist with TK or punch that guy."> Much better at juggling English and Japanese do to her actually going to and paying attention to school, she had a tendency to cuss or criticize herself in English but explain in native tongue. Her finger pointed at the barely visible figure in the air surrounded by a bale storm of debris waves of plasma and more. Buildings peeled apart like wet paper before the vortex. Before any more explenation however three swords lanced toward the flower the time to try and discuss just what the hell was going on was over.

Mai started with an attempted sidestep of two and block of the third blade. To her surprise the blade moved right through her own and continued on. It's trajectory was minimal only graizing her shoulder but even though it should have been deflected by superior material it passed on through only taking mass once it's blade could cut skin. A thin stream began to run down Mai's arm, do to its intangible nature blocking was off the table. Soon after the blades were coming back for her looking to cleave untill she was dead. <"Follow but I'm faster don't worry about your bigger little sis.">

Leaping off the roof the blades followed her down and violet light trailed by as Lonely dashed forward propelled by jet like propulsion. Running past soldiers she watched the blades impale then pass through the legion of deathless soul takers. "Ew" she commented at the temporary kills, the blades didn't distinguish between sentience just materialized when passing through a person. Knowing this Mai did her best to navigate through enemies cutting apart her opposition with her blade and the following ones conjured by the enemy. For the most part her better speed won over naturally some times the blades got through however digging small gashes in her skin.

Knowing she couldn't keep out running them she braced herself for what was to follow. From the cuts she'd endured she knew they were steel they couldn't go far their power derived from the intangibility her durability did help. A block with the elbow of the left arm it pierced skin but got stuck in the bone. A downward elbow drop with her other hand shattered the blade and with a turn she kneed the next spearing blade and repeated the act. And for the third she turned to face it as it shot forward. It slipped into her gut and with a sonic boom generating motion Mai brought her hands together with a thunderous clap and blade shattering motion. She'd stopped the blade from getting to far. And immediately after a car folded in on itself as it struck Mai's head like a killer fast ball.

Getting to her feet the telekinetic follower walked up to her feeling proud. Fist clenched and exploiting a martial art she'd studied she furiously lashed out in a single jab. To quick for the psionic to evade knuckles met brow line and as Mai's hand dropped the face of her attacker contorted. It twisted with a crunching sound and skin winded up in a strange fashion. Then came a sound both like a squash and a pop as the head exploded. "I don't play sports you dick."

Looking back to the skyline she looked for the leading figure of this mess. "Worse case scenario I go home just fine. It's being here that hurts" she shrugged embracing the situation she was in. Her heels warped slightly to a more bulky version of the hakama the equivalent of pants for a samurai. Shooting through the sky at twenty two hundred miles per hour slightly faster then the black bird jet Mai dashed toward the elderly figure. Her blade shot forward in a standard thrust nothing special in design beyond the speed. The true attack however was in the shockwave her muscles put out. A canon like burst of pressure that turned her stab into a act that looked to blow apart the enemy. The building behind him would have a hole right through it the size of minivan. Doubting it'd finish the job however Mai followed with pulling back and slicing downward looking to speedster the left arm. The following shockwave likely to place the two in a crater in the asphalt. As for the blade itself vibranium and monomolecular in edge it while not unstoppable didn't see to much resistance usually.

@apex_: @joey_destroyer_of_worlds: @solarius: @toshiro_shizuka: @solarius: @asmodeus_prime:

Eclipse nodded his head in agreement, he sent out a message to the his demons and they would arrive shortly. It was weird for an angel to have demons but, as the angel of war he got to break the rules a bit. His attention was taken by something else, a very powerful opponent. One he wouldn't have to hold back against and might cause his new friend some trouble. Eclipse bowed his head and bid his new friend ado, his wing fully extended once more and stepped forward beating it and sending his body into the air at over Mach 4000. The shock wave that this one movement created rippled out tearing through multiple buildings and leveling three blocks of city. He took off once more, arriving somewhat close to a man with an outrageous hair cut and some regular old clothes. He landed gracefully, managing to slow himself before lightly touching down. His wing furled before disappearing entirely. He slowly walked towards the strange human, giving him a good once over.

"So, your what peaked my interest. I'm surprised by your appearance, then again mine can be deceiving as well. I take it your here to stop this war and by the gods I think you could. Only problem is that this fight is necessary. I urge you to leave before I have to step in and handle you myself."

Eclipse placed his hand against the hilt of his 8 ft blade, he had arrived at a few conclusions from looking at the man. The first was that he possessed very high physical stats, they were seemingly infinite but not yet there. The other conclusion was that he was very rash in his decision making and relied heavily on his strength to back it up. Eclipse scoffed

"I can learn a lot about anyone I want just by simply looking at them. When your eyes have seen as much as I have you start to pick up on a lot of commonalities. Things like a persons physical abilities or even any siblings they have. Fathers, mothers, Sisters they care a lot about. It would be a shame if something were to happen to them wouldn't it, be a shame if I sprayed your sisters blood across a wall or if I made a sculpture from her severed limbs. The best part is it would take me no more time or effort then it would take a person to swat a stationary fly. So, I suggest you leave but, then again you probably wont listen to me so I'll just show you what your up against."

Eclipse stepped forward and his body was gone, a shockwave vaporized any structure that was within 20 feet of him before leveling anything within 100. He appeared behind Toshiro in nearly an instant, his blade fully extended and everything within 3 miles in front of him was converted into rubble and then frozen over. An entire cone shaped portion of a city wiped out within a heart beat. Hundreds of soldiers and people killed instantly leaving nothing behind. Eclipse sheathed his sword as a swirling pool of silver formed in his path.

"See, that guy over there. Even with all my strength I wouldn't fight him, so I would suggest you leave. or you could stay, I was going to fight you but, I think I may be a little too strong for this battle. Cant have two powerhouses in one fight now can we. I'll step in later if things start swaying the wrong way though so stay tuned and tell your friends."

Eclipse stepped through the silver portal leaving the man with that message, the real reason he didn't fight though was because he had encountered the wrong person. The one he was after wasn't that man, all the power levels had sort of merged together and he thought he had found a worthy fighter. In all honesty though, he had found the wrong fighter.

@lonelyflower: @twin_dragons_:

It happened so expeditiously, the scorching figure in the sky coming to an abrupt halt, edifices being hurled as if toyed with by a professional juggler, sentient blades rushing left and right as the oddly looking figure and her sudden discourse. At first, the puzzled gaze on Toshiro's face was merely due to the unnatural actions all happening around them, destruction following everywhere, but her words paralyzed the boy instantaneously. "<Oi, what ya talkin' 'bout, kiddo? How ya freakin' know my lil' s-" His eyes ultimately landed on her crimson lock, the very same color as he always painted Mai's hair. After all, she always saw her big brother taking so long on his pompadour, she desired for something equally unique.

The red was chosen due to being Mai's first gift to her bro, a vermilion sweater he wore with pride. It meant that, wherever she was, he'd guard his little sister with all his might.

Now there she stood, fully grown, gesticulating and blushing while attempting to explain anything and everything. However, it all fell on mute ears. Both eyes fixedly staring the asphalt beneath him as he simply waved her goodbye as she rushed somewhere. How was that possible? How? She was a sweet little child, he'd take her anywhere on his shoulders and share laughs and daily happenings, he'd do whatever he could to make her content, to see that cute smile brightening his day... What was that other figure, though? Did he ever fail his little sister? Would he do so in the future? Did he forget about teaching her how to dress properly and what not showing to boys?

Another figure soon came by, it had some strangely long speech, going on and on about things and stuff and, perhaps, it was a really exquisite analysis of how beauteous the gift of life veraciously is, or a Quantum formula broken down on his last moments of life he craved to share before his demise. Wind suddenly blew more vigorously and a few debris rocketed Toshiro's way, being well-nigh disintegrated at contact with his adamant skin. Immovable eyes suddenly filled with ire as he stared skywards. "<D-did she say she had a boyfriend?!>" The remaining pebbles on his hands were crushed to dust as he tightly clenched both fists.

Tilting his head to meet the still chit-chattering person behind his back, he simply shrugged and nodded negatively. "Sory, no English." Were the last few words as he effortlessly leaped upwards, gathering whichever rubble he could get his hands on whilst continuously slamming the air underneath his feet to boost his already rapid velocity. Harnessing a portion of his strength, he'd hurl it against the floating figure (@asmodeus_prime). His eyes couldn't clearly envision what was causing all the havoc, thus his judgement wouldn't be swimmingly completed at such a short distance.

"<How did she start wearin' those... AAAAAHHH!>" His thunderous roaring wasn't that of pain or sorrow over the possible deaths of thousands, rather, they were the sentiment of failure a brother had when confronted by his hypothetical future little sister. Mind completely off the current situation, he blatantly rushed towards the ostensibly impenetrable force-field, forcefully cracking the rooftop of the edifice he had landed. Thoughtlessly, he'd simply slam his shoulder against the invisible barrier and increase his strength accordingly to the resistance opposing him.

Hundreds dead, the bodies kept piling up and the blood kept flowing. Skulls and blood, blood and skulls, battle and death and war and murder and rage...there's a storm coming, can you feel it?

Among the combatants only the forces of Maverick would know the signs, the subtle change in lighting as the sky grew increasingly red, the shimmering in the air where the battle was thickest and the collected screams of a hundred madmen escaped from prisons and institutions across the city. With every death the chant grew louder, with every blow made in anger the air thickened. When the one winged Eclipse decided to kill hundreds for no reason there was a change again, the chanting grew louder and the crazed men and women now formed up in the center of the conflict and called out to their god and his Angel of Death.

"BLOOD FOR THE BLOOD GOD! SKULLS FOR THE SKULL THRONE! BLOOD FOR THE BLOOD GOD! SKULLS FOR THE SKULL THRONE! KILL! MAIM! BURN! KILL! MAIM! BURN!" and on and on the chant went. A stylized skull began to burn itself into the ground between the chanting group. Khorne's eyes were once more on Earth, his attention drawn by wanton slaughter and bloodshed. Where Khorne's eyes were drawn, soon his chosen would come and the fight for Denver would become a whole different affair.

@asmodeus_prime: @solarius: @lonelyflower: @toshiro_shizuka: @katraya:Todd was running, behind him buildings had fallen and there were robot parts scattered around the buildings. He had made sure to avoid wrecking something with real people inside though, casualties were meant to be kept at a minimum. His scanner's were going around making sure there were no forms of life, and then they picked up on something. Multiple lifeforms gathered around to his left, he slid to a stop throwing out a punch to send the robot in front of him flying. He saw something more then a little spooky, he jumped to the side to avoid a piece of falling debris from what was going on above him. He could hear them chanting and it seemed like they were trying to summon something. Todd walked up and shouted towards them.

"Hey, I DON'T KNOW WHAT YOUR DOING BUT THIS PLACE OBVIOUSLY ISN'T SAFE. I WOULD SUGGEST YOU MOVE THIS LITTLE GATHERING SOMEWHERE ELSE."

The group didn't respond, Todd reached one hand into his pocket and pulled out a small blue crystal. He took his other arm and fired off a blast into the air, the explosive magic bolt ripped through a falling car causing it to explode. Pieces of it fell all around him and the flaming frame of the vehicle fell right next to him. Todd on the other hand went about his business, he spoke into the blue crystal and it began to glow before another voice came from the device. It was Maxwell, Todd gave him a rundown of what was going on and Max simply told him that it didn't sound good and shouldn't be allowed to continue. The crystal stopped glowing and Todd put it back in his pocket,he focused his attention on the people that were standing around. He clenched his fist before walking up to one of them and throwing a mean right hook, it wasn't anywhere close to full power but it was enough to knock him out. Todd proceeded to do the same with the others, a few of them turned their attention to him and tried to fight back. One guy slammed a metal pole against Todd's arm, the pole snapped in half before Todd OHKO him. Once the people were out he began moving them to a building a little ways away from the main conflict, after he had moved them all he decided to get rid of the burning skull. He brought his arm down against the asphalt, it exploded upwards creating a massive cloud of dust. Todd clapped his hands and cleared the gray cloud, he found himself standing in a semi massive crater where the skull once burned.

Maxwell had to leave Bold, he wished there was time for their plan to work but, after he got the call from Todd he knew it was time to act. He once again stayed on the rooftops until he arrived just on the perimeter of the battle. Destruction was strewn across the field, death and despair remained stagnant in the air and above heroes battled it out with a powerful villain. Maxwell made his decision and began moving his hands, while focusing on his target.

"Five Layered Magic Circle: SACRED SONG"

He slammed his hands into the ground as floating Circle's appeared above the villain, each one a different color and each one a different size. Within the blink of an eye a large purple beam shot downwards through each one before heading towards Asmodeous. The light alone would be blinding to anyone around it and the damage it would inflict was around 200 MegaTons worth. Maxwell watched the beam plummet towards the earths surface, in order to ensure it didn't harm anything on the ground he began moving his hands once more.

"Three Layered Magic CIrcle: MIRROR WATER"

Three more circles appeared underneath the beam, these would catch the attack before it could hit the ground and then send it back upwards into space.

“Hmm pushing through the enemy, that helps” I say hitting the ground hard using my photon energy to clear a path for their advancement. With energy beams cluttering the darkened skies the energy field created by my…. uh ground pound? Protected them momentarily allowing them to fire out of my shield, but not letting any in. I show my support by giving a slight salute to the soldiers, before flying off ahead of them. When I chose to join the Avengers, I knew at some point and time I’d be dealing with alien invasions again.

My last was really nasty, I was the president of Utopia, and the leader of a group called The Trinity Foundation. My “sister” Ziccarra Liafador, led her race called the Ninjans, to Earth to purge the entire planet; needless to say we won but things got pretty hectic afterwards. I vowed to never fight again, until that little b!tch Catalina brought me here.

It was only now, now that I’m weaving through a plethora of alien fire that I realize—I kind of missed this. I continue to weave using a series on rippling sonic booms to temporarily stun those below me in support of Maverick, which is until another one of those blasts plucked me right out of the sky.

I honestly couldn’t tell you what hurt the most, the sting of the blast on my skin, or the scrapping of said skin on the dilapidated roads below. “Damn it…” I grunt, pushing my body from the uprooted roads, trying to figure out which one of these little bastards had the audacity to shoot me.

Well they all kind of look alike so I guess the only reasonable thing is to shot them all. Pushing my hands back, I push forward with another Photon Wave. I kicked up the octane just a bit to make sure the deal gets done. My energy is massive; I forget just how explosive my Photon energy is. I could literally level this entire city—If I needed too.

One of my dupes is in danger; I turn towards its general direction only to see that another has aided her combat. Which is good, my 1st dupe is usually my favorite. “That’s weird…” I say out loud. “My dupe is literally just rescuing people, why would she attract it’s …bam...

Hit again, this time from very close range. My body skids along the road before coming to a stop at the foot of another beast—really not my fricken day.

The beast brings its weapon down to fire, but I throw my hands in an “X” to deflect the blast, before rolling to the left. It goes to hit me again, but my 2nd dupe saves me—thank god.

“Save the thanks for your favorite,” It says as she flies off to tend to more people. I totally forgot they could hear my thoughts.

In the sky…there’s a bright light…it’s the guy who caused all this carnage… “Dupe 1 take him down” I message telepathically. I watch as my dupe streaks from her location burning through the sky before disappearing.

I can feel her movements, she teleports just above the creature to keep it busy, sending a multiple photon volley’s to keep it’s attention. Meanwhile, I sort of kinda maybe have a plan.

“I’m going to teleport him” I say so that all my dupes are in understanding, but first I need a clear shot at him, and I need to clear my schedules full of these grunts.

I’m so wore out from firing blast, that I resort to staying close to Maverick and bareknuckle brawling. It hurts like hell, but it’s fun.

@maya_summers: @apex_: @joey_destroyer_of_worlds: @solarius: @toshiro_shizuka: @solarius: @asmodeus_prime: (as well as anyone I missed, including both the Professor and Mary Anne)

Vitus' eyes narrowed as the observed the progression of the battle, and took in the reams of data that flowed from the Deathborn, even as Earth's defenders found ways to cut them down permanently. Although his godlike ally was managing to hold his own against a score of foes, his own soldiery were losing ground, even as the second wave reinforced the first, stepping seamlessly into formation where their fallen brethren had left holes in the line. He momentarily debated sending another brigade into the fray, but quickly dismissed the idea as a waste of resources. He was achieving his goals; no sense in spending more than he needed to in order to do so.

Still, he couldn't help but feel some small pangs of disappointment. There were a number of entities he had rather hoped would make an appearance on this battlefield, so that he might test his forces against them and gain a true gauge of their power: the earth goddess who, if current intelligence was correct, had experience a notable decrease in power, the fallen Destructor, the rogue Ilian...but alas, one simply did not get to choose the parameters of every battle.

Not that the heroes that had responded were proving lackluster; on the contrary, that the planet contained this many powerful and capable entities willing to rise to its defense was valuable information...as well as concerning. Earth was viewed as little more than a tertiary at best source of resources, and of little strategic importance. The Imperium had designated it as little more than a testing ground. However, a planet capable of defending itself meant a planet that could, given time and proper circumstances, become a threat.

Well then, if a decisive victory was not to be this day's destiny, the least he could do was maximize the damage done to the enemy. Asmodeus could toy with his own combatants to his dark heart's content, but their were foes on the field who were damaging him in seemingly far more subtle ways, saving and healing the otherwise defenseless humans that his minions sought to cut down in droves. "All units," he intoned, opening a direct channel to the Deathborn's mechanized and yet still-living minds,"concentrate fire on the healers. Bring them down."

Bradshaw

multiple mechanical parts extended increasing the size of his arms and releasing an insane amount of magic power.

Bradshaw glanced over his shoulder from a distance, blast waves from the explosion hitting him in the back as the ground shook. The ensuing earthquake offering something ofa disruption towards his enemies as his boots adhered to the ground and the man was able to pop off a few shots, his high velocity rounds hitting with well enough force to pierce through the thing's head and down them, leaving them for the recently formed and highly makehsift incendiary clean up team to begin to systematically burn what remained of the bots. His enemies had spread themselves thin and began particularly pursuing high power targets.

He moved up to higher ground, firing his grappling device to the top of a building as he then

Blast waves ripped through the air and despite their speed, from this distance, even he could see it coming as he ducked instinctively, the blast ravaging the structure he laid down upon and knocking him back despite his cover. And that is the least of his issues however as the blast tips over this building after having obliterated the rest, the structural foundation shattering as it all began to crumble. Still, he sat, his eyes scanning about he spots a building as he slides, jumps and begins to free fall, activating his nanotube shoot

Fucking metas.

He lands among debris, receving signal of where he most needed. Leaving the area to reconnect and regroup with his squad, returning closer to Maverick.

Hope Apex is doin' alright.

He worried for her a bit. Seemed Nemaz was her entrance to. Hadn't occurred to him as much to think that she's the one rescuing him now. Ironic.

"Who the fuck is this guy?" A man lowers his gun, irritated by his waste of bullets.

"Think metahuman high is in session, cause all the big kids are just rolling in. Have data on this guy having appeared in the middle east and having engaged the Examplar. Another class four person of mass destruction."

Lightning strikes down their foes.

"Least he is on our side."

Bold looks from the top of the skyscraper, standing next to Maxwell.

"Kid knows me? Ha. I remember him. He was the one that I ate a punch for when we were fighting Hastings. Not a clue who the hell he is, but what am I gonna do? Deny him? Say, Bradshaw, think you can swing by this eager lad?"Far as Bold could tell, he almost seemed to act a child in a man's body, during his fight, his calling him a lad something instinctive.

Soon after, the Maverick Mutant Hunter landed before the Destroyer of worlds, a black blur lowering himself on his grappling device as he lands on a car, crushing it upon impact, his suit hardened as it distributes it, and then he steps off it, walking towards him without bravery. Bravery would implied that the Grim Gunslinger actually had an ounce of fear of this man.

He looks at him beneath his mask, his expression stoic, cold. Yet eyes that hid something of a tranquil fury, his anger seemingly perpetual, but not directed towards him. Just a run of the mill soldier who's seen some shit, as he'd put it. His eyes looked to the sky, rain dripping onto his visor as he looked up. Then he looked back, speaking straightly to him

"We could do without the wind and rain. It's making the evacuation harder. We managed to clean out Hawaii but here isn't so easy. Keep your lightning, but clear up the rest, and you can save a lot of people. Make this all go by a whole lot easier. Think you can do that, Sparky?"

Bold

"These spells double a persons physical ability for a short time. If you have a way for me to channel energy and send it out to your soldiers then we may stand a chance against this threat. If not then the only thing I would ask you to do would be to focus a defensive perimeter and let me and an associate of mine handle the big guy in the middle."

"Sorry, Maxy." He shrugs. "We don't win wars through strength alone. If you'd have doubled our strength in the war against your father, barely would have made a difference. Of course I want my men to be strong, but that alone isn't going to turn this around. More dislike the fact that so many came on us suddenly and infiltrated our perimeter like that. Just ported in. Caught us with our pants down. But we don't win wars, by just being strong. We win through skill and firepower."

Large explosions resonate throughout the city, the ground quaking in authorized and cleared areas where the enemy is corralled and killed as heroes seem to get the upper hand.

"Save your magic for the big guy. We'll be fine. We'll keep everyone off of you and keep you informed of anyone around. Got word of someone moving around. A teleporter and someone clocking in from our satellites at around Mach 4000? Might wanna keep a lookout for him. We'll be sure to try to raze him if he shows up again."

Bold smiles.

I’m so wore out from firing blast, that I resort to staying close to Maverick and bareknuckle brawling. It hurts like hell, but it’s fun.

Enemy forces focused on healers, and people who were reducing the general state of despair among the populace and even other Mavericks. With her tending to the wounded, and tending to them, they move about their enemy, flanking them as they moved around and through buildings, firing at them from all angles. Aircraft would make this easier and tanks and other vehicles were often ill equipped for urban warfare, so their nimble force moved about their enemies, launching an offensive as they gather and cluster near a more vital point of the city and move to pushing and corraling their enemies back, exchanging support with their superhuman allies.

There was no human or extra-normal as Maverick worked with their allies. A flying healing brick. A girl with wings and a mace. Humanity had seemingly found it's common unifying opposition.

Nemaz

There he laid, hardly, conscious, his blood blow slowed to a crawl as it would soon rapidly leave him body, having fallen some 40 or so stories. Wounds were severe, to say the least. Yet still, he had managed to stay conscious. His thoughts lingering as he wondered if this was it, if perhaps he may rest here. Killed by a god? That was what it would take to kill him? A warrior's death was not too bad. Particularly not when it had value. The display had shown many a Maverick this thing's capabilities. Maybe they could head the warning. And not follow in his wake. Learn from his mistake.

Yes. A good death.

He smirks.

"It's just a flesh wound."

War wasn't pretty....

=Gore Warning=

His wounds were severe and indeed, quite mortal. If he did not receive medical attention soon, he may die. His internals were lying plainly on the ground and his general movement was lethargic. Amazingly, he was still conscious and managed to at least bring himself haphazardly together, but bacteria even was leaving his body and would need to be later replaced.

He hadn't given up however, as he himself could stop some of the bleeding. Apex's efforts could indeed help him bring himself back together, and the bandages eventually helped keep everything in. Had he been a normal human, he would be long dead.

His eyes go towards her.

"Ah, you are right." He smiles, his body warming, her words aiding his focusing, bringing him further away from a deeper sleep. His hand reaches up seeking to feel her cheek. "The enemy is approaching. I hear them." He draws a Desert Eagle, High Velocity rounds. But does not fire it. Not yet, his gun remains steady on an allyway. They do not seem to be converging on them. Deathborne pass him by.

"There." He fires towards someone watching, from a distance. A man who looked like someone like one of any other. The gunshot reverbates through the air, his competence in his shot in this condition, misjudged. He can barely stay conscious, let alone shoot. Though the shot grazes the man's cheek, an inch more and it'd have taken him out.

He grips a care, channeling psionic energies through his body as he focuses to picking it up and then tosses it, hurling it towards the woman.

The Ugandan Gunmen lowers his gun. There is nothing that he alone can do. He looked to Apex, not out of fear or concern. Out of curiousity. He wanted to know how far she had come. He wanted to see what the one he'd indoctrinated was so capable of doing now that she had found her "calling."

He watched, and waited.

Very interesting.

He could feel the power, that some could perhaps surpass him, if not they have not surpassed him. He made use of these forces against him, and the lack of any loss of his psions and other followers tempted into power. He had to push them, and he had to combat them.

Magicks broiled and stirred, raw power in seething in the palm of his very hands. His numerous spells at his disposal, he sensed power that gathered, knew of it's presence, and he felt himself prepared for most whatever any could throw at him.

No Caption Provided

Asmodeus looked upon the man (@toshiro_shizuka) as roared "My my, aren't you loud...?" He extended his arm out, and with a thought, his perfect mirror appeared before him, already in the way as the man decided to leap at him and tremendous speeds, seeking to bash his shoulder against him and perhaps turn him into paste. However, his alerting him to his attack enabled him to reflect the attack right back at him with an object said to be of celestial durability, able to withstand the death of stars without mar. If he hit it, the mirror's effects would take play in that it would reflect his impact force back towards him exactly, with as much force as he struck it with. What it was unable to (completely) reflect was the noise of the man booming towards him, due to the sound being able to travel around the mirror. Asmodeus' weakened magic enabled such an attack to actually effect him when normally, he would have simply halted the air in front of him. His disorientation from the attack as his ears nearly burst from it's speed, causing him to rub his ears and divert more to psionic shielding, as the mirror disappears.

"Do you know how to fight? Perhaps when you attack, you should not roar like an idiot."

He sensed a great magicks stirring about himself, his uncanny perception of such forces (@maxwell_hastings). He looks towards the glowing light, and raises his staff towards it, a wicked smile on his face as he looks towards the blast of pure magical energy, about the impact.

Binding Chains.

From within Asmodeus' robe and a large swarm of chains appeared before him, used to drain objects of energy with their void like properties, he used it in conjuction with his stave as it expanded outward approximately the entire width of the chain. Light had little in the way of momentum depending on how it so collided with matter, and this energy, being magical in nature, made it all the more ideal. The blast strikes his staff first, manipulated as he takes it. Absorbing it into his stave so that he may better channel it, the chains catching the rest and all giving their energy over to the false savior. The air rushed against him and superheated as the force of the blast moving against the air sought to destroy him. But he allowed no such thing. And with that, after a few seconds, the energy was gone. Asmodeus' body blacker and more roasted, his eyes gleamed with new vivid life as regenerated himself a knew, his clothes even.

"A beautiful attack." He commented. "Thank you."

He extends his hand, towards the revenant-like creatures. "Come now mortals is this all you've to show me?" He casts a soul rend, his intention to drain the creatures, abruptly interrupted as blood stains his shroud. His shroud. He has been struck, and it leaves him unable to defend his follower. The lone psion shielding himself in vane as the man cuts him down and strikes down one of Asmodeus' followers.

(@lonelyflower)

"Who. Dares?"

He limps forward, the gash on his back from a glancing hit that if it had hit fully, would have cleaved him in two. Recovering his body took focus, energy. Whoever struck him, it was fast, but not yet demonstrating such ability as to be within Asmodeus' perception. He ports down. His anger fading, as he smiles.

I suppose I will need to be more wary of them. No matter.

The Deathborne were repelled, and Maverick forces began hunting down his followers. It would be unwise for them to stay.

"Leave me, my warriors. There is much to do. So much."

He looks about, his eyes falling upon one area.

He smiled, his intent malicious.

"Blood? Is that what you would like? Bring your god, and bring him here. We'll start with your blood."

With all of the followers, the man had welcomed him. "Show me your god." He raises his hand, and then brings it down, an immense wall of psionic force moving downwards towards them. Seeking to crush all of them like flies and smear their bodies across the street, as the man's decrepid, skeletal feet would land among their bodies, feet once more stained in blood. (If works.)

He tapes the ground, igniting the area and seeking the cremate them all, blood twirling in a Miasma of ash and death surrounding the skeletal man, as he'd soon begin to warp the environment. Immense pools of psionc energy gathered all around him, as he channeled little of it into defense and all of it into limbs. The envoironment warped, as streets were torn and dented.

His eager eyes scanned the areas, awaiting to see what combatants still remained who'd dare engage him.

"Accept me into your hearts, and you will know true power."People in peril would pray and hope. Some would allow Maverick to save them, others were saved by men and women of the hour, some would seek to follow this "Korne" or, they can be teleported away by the very cause of this. And join him unknowingly as he brought more into his fold.

Come then...

"Kill the source!" Jack roared losing the form of cold bones and becoming scarecrow. The very plants under the feet of the enemy force became weapons, shooting up and through them before crushing them to the ground. All the hidden creatures there left their homes to attack those dangerous to Jack or those he was not trying to kill. But then came the crows. Thousands of them. And the vultures as well. Scarecrow had a greater connection with them than any other. The swarmed like a million terrible beings at anything helping Asmodeus, protected by roots that struck up through the ground around them. Scarecrow pulled out his large scythe and did what he had done before, hacked and hacked but this time he released a fear toxin. A very deadly toxin that was absorbed through the skin and protection. However he kept it away from his allies.

Very interesting.

@asmodeus_prime: Maxwell now had all the information he needed to defeat this opponent. He had speculated this man to be magical but, the fact that he absorbed the entire attack proved it was true. Before he could act however, the environment began tearing apart. Todd was on the ground but, Todd could also catch a nuke and return it to sender. Rather then staying to get crushed Maxwell used bounce sigils to move backwards out of the suction radius. It was growing but, he had enough distance to avoid being eaten alive. Max raised his arms and began channeling energy into his palms.

"Trace On...Arcane Shackles"

The energy began to take shape before solidifying into a chain, it was gold and had a metal spear head on one end. Max had acquired this weapon during a fight with a man named Aventus and now he was using them to take down a more powerful enemy. He moved the chains to his left hand before calling out another weapon, this one was a spear colored entirely red and it held a very ominous aura. Max took the chains and wrapped them around the spear. He clutched the red blade and began running, when he got to the edge of the roof he hurled the spear. All of his strength went into the throw and eventually the spear got caught in the vortex being sucked towards Asmodeous. Maxwell's plan was a rather smart one. The spear he used was known as Gae Bolg and no matter what it angled towards the targets heart. Maxwell had set the target as Asmodeous and thus even when the spear flew it would keep it's point in the direction of his heart. The spear itself could cut through True Adamantium so the buildings wouldn't do much to stop the weapon. This wasn't even the best part of the plan, the chains on the end were chains that sought out and restrained beings with any hint of magical power. Once they were close enough to Asmodeous they would begin seeking him out until they coiled around his limbs and restrained him in place. The chains themselves strengthened by draining their opponents of magical energy and with the massive amount he had just absorbed the chains should do their job.

@asmodeus_prime: Todd was on the ground when he finally caught his first glimpse of the enemy, he was disgusting to even glance at. Todd walked up to the grotesquely old dude and began to talk.

"Wow so your the guy who's been tearing this place apart. Honestly I have a hard time even looking at you, if I had a stomach I assure you my lunch would be all over the ground right now. I mean honestly how hard is it to be this gross?"

Todd felt the ground shake and everything around the guy began breaking apart, he could feel the bolts and gears in his body start to creak but his mechanical body refused to come apart. He did however, start sliding forward so his legs began to change shape. They dug into the ground and the piece of land he was on ripped up from the ground, bringing Todd into the mix of rubble. It didn't look good for the magical cyborg until his arm came flying out of the rubble. His other arm was next, then came his torso. He pressed his legs against the slab of earth and pushed off, firing off magical fire bolts to propel himself away from the havoc. The pulling power was insane and it caused him to have to use a weakened heel rose to escape the suction radius before running a good distance from the scene. The sucking stopped and Todd saw the destruction, it even rivaled his own. Todd rolled his head ready to take on this enemy who could actually give him a challenge.

Everything around Asmodeus was being torn apart, sucked in towards him before there was no more street to destroy. High above this action a large swirling mass of silver opened up in the sky, it was reflective and showed a view of everything happening below. It's surface was completely still, then came a ripple. It was small and barely disturbed the reflection, the next ripple tat came was larger and was followed by even more ripples that moved across the surface of the mirror esq object. From it's center something came forth, only those who were extremely close would be able to make out what it was, those who were far away wouldn't even see it. This thing began sliding out of the reflective pool, followed by even more mass. It was two feet, followed by two legs, then arms, then a head. A being hovered their just below the reflective surface, a small silhouette in comparison to the massive mirror he had came from. Then something unfurled from his back, it was one lone massive wing. It was covered in feathers so black that merely looking at them would send people into an overwhelming sense of despair. A voice boomed outwards like thunder ripping itself across the sky.

"HHHHAAAALLLLTTTTT."

The words were spoken in a language long lost but yet, it would be understood by all. Even those who didn't know it.

Eclipse drew his blade and long black bolts of lightning shot out across the sky, he aimed his blade at a building in the distance. A bolt of dark electricity shot from the sky, causing a blinding light for mere moments before the building was gone leaving nothing but a smoking black crater where it had once stood.

Eclipse drew his blade and long black bolts of lightning shot out across the sky, he aimed his blade at a building in the distance. A bolt of dark electricity shot from the sky, causing a blinding light for mere moments before the building was gone leaving nothing but a smoking black crater where it had once stood.

"YOU HAVE 30 SECONDS TO GET AS MANY PEOPLE OUT OF HERE AS POSSIBLE BEFORE I START BUTCHERING THEM."

"Coward!" Scarecrow yelled, "Proud, self serving coward!" The remains of anything that could die flew off the ground towards the one winged being. But it was only a distraction, he changed to ghost the moment they were on their way and a dozen executioners went after him hidden right behind the rubble. A dozen undying beings under Jacks control, or more correctly cold bones.

At the warning Alex rotated a dial on her bow changing its sight to thermal vision granting her visibility of the five approaching targets. The first would be getting here soon the rest there was a little time in between. It'd be no problem on her own covering the wounded however changed the situation. However she'd never turn her back on a brother in arms, she was reluctant even to let the MORS die if it could be helped. Death came with the territory but every life lost was a loss none the less and losses had to matter. Nemaz was even beyond that however, he was her mentor the one who got the archer into Maverick. She was providing for her family in Gothic because of him. She'd see her mother brother and so on out of that shithole soon because of him. All she'd wanted was to explore to see the world, she was a thrill seeker and though it wasn't easy she loved her job. And it was all doable because of Nemaz.

A shot is fired a grazing shot do to blood loss, most people would have been dead by now. It was only the companies technology and stubbornness keeping the veteran gunman alive. "Compensate about two inches to the right if you fire. Mostly just focus on the crosshairs though to stay awake old man." As a marksman rarely rivaled her pointers were some of the sharpest usually. Some of the snipers were talking about forming a unit with her, with a focus on black ops and infiltration. Mostly though the wise cracking and pointer here though was just to keep the mind busy. She didn't need cover fire so much as for her mentor to stay awake, letting oneself rest with such wounds on the field was particularly hazardous. Alex needed the area to be clear before getting the soldier out. Her portals for someone injured so grievously had to be more large and encompassing more precise rifts were to straining on the body.

Then came the car thrown their way, bracing herself Alex readied her exosuit diving slightly into the sidewalk under the pressure. Both hands out the archer caught the vehicle her hands jolting back faintly from the impact. She cared far better then the car which buckled inwards metal twisting from the pressure. Ripping the door free with her free hand Apex flung the metal forward with as much force as the exosuit could provide. With four ton strength when putting the suit under strain the frisbee throw was a terrifying forceful through. Edge of the door hit first into the ribcage resounding with a sickly loud crack as bones shattered. And then the rest sunk into flesh with a mulching sound and a resounding thud as the target was pinned to the wall. Next duo was coming around the corner, and sadly they to went for the TK car technique.

"Training bests power every time." Alex commented assuring in tone as she drew two arrows. While not one for combat commentary things like conversation and orders could help give the wounded something to focus on. Familiar thwack sound of the bow sounded off as an arrow impacted the gas tank of a car and then detonated as the arrow let loose a plasmic discharge. High energized exsplosion resulted in little more then scattered molten shards dancing through the air. The second arrow, was released barely a second after the first but had already been compensated for the blast wave of the first arrow. Alex barely having to even use technology for the shot that passed through an exsplosion. As for the arrow itself it hit the palm of one of the two psionic followers. The arrow impact wasn't fatal but care was taken to maximize the blast radius of the plasma discharge. Two bodies flopped to the asphalt one missing almost half of himself the other missing a good third. Their skeletons were charred and their muscles and organs sizzled as blood boiled. A ghastly end, yet strangely not phasing to the archer even though she practically saw it in slow motion. It became clear to her it wasn't so much as the sight of war that got to her, just the visuals to those she cared for or who didn't deserve it. Perhaps the most haunting part of the job wasn't what you saw or even what you did, but what you got used to.

Scanning the horizon she found the last two targets were coming from the roofs looking to get the drop on the duo. Drawing another arrow from her quiver the archer jumped to make an interception. Between the sharpness of the arrow and the strength of her suit Alex however had the upper hand in the collision. The psionic he turned to meet her only to be met with the projectile slipping into the eye. As the pair landed Alex found her knuckles wet, and coated in a pinkish gray mess atop the carmine stains. "Melee combat is fucking disgusting" Alex remarked shaking her hand to clear off some of the mess. Last adversary still used to using natural senses over the powers given assumed Nemaz fallen from her passing glance and instantly lashed out at Alex.

Concrete and glass fell alongside the archer a few shards dug into her upper arm as she began to get back to her feet. The Psionic closed the distance the air distorting around her fist as she looked down at Alex. "Don't gloat, get shit done" Alex said simply annoyed. To often people talked or tried to savor the win professionalism fealt like a dying art even amongst the professionals. The archer's movements were hard to follow fast as human's could manage if not faster. Her unique eye sight let her know when the job was done almost before the oppositions body knew what had happened. A climbing axe was out the ankle and going upward before the psionic was even falling. Before the inexperienced and powered could catch herself, the experienced had flipped the axe around and brought it up in an uppercut. Sinking into the base of the neck and piercing through the jaw streams ran down Alex's arm from arterial spray. Eyes red with tears and quivering stared the soldier down. Covering them with her palm Alex sighed "I'm sorry" and with that she pulled the weapon free pushing forward while pulling back. The neck snapped face crunched and jaw came off, but the death was instant. Wasn't pretty but at least it was quick.

With that the archer teleported Nemaz and herself to a med bay of a Maverick sub facility. She took a moment to let him have the last word before she bumped his shoulder with her fist. She wanted to stay but she had a job to fulfill and their were people still in the town under siege. And Apex had the teleporting ability to get more out faster then most of the others.

@asmodeus_prime: @twin_dragons_:

“I’ve never been a fan of video games, but this seems kinda boss battlish” I think to myself. In my mind, I can hear my father telling me not to do anything drastic. He says that those tend to be the dumbest ideas. My father liked to forget that I was stuck as a teenager for the first twenty-five years of my life—I only know how to make drastic decisions.

My dupes light attack didn’t appear to do anything, judging from how he’s using his psionic energies; teleporting him was a no go. Also, trying to mentally enter his mind might be more of a hazard for—

I get hit, brutally! The blast sends me flying across streets again. As I slid to a stop, I could feel my healing factor working arduously to repair the damage—good. I’m almost glad I’m not an actress anymore because who would want to hire me with the scars that are bound to come from this conflict. My outfit is damn near gone, I’m happy we’re in the middle of a battle or else I’d be the source of a ton of sexual harassment.

I grit my teeth as I as, it hurts like hell, and to make matters ever worse I’m feeling all the damage my dupes were taking. I take a moment to eye the battlefield and then it clicks almost like a light bulb. “That’s why he attacked my dupe” I say realizing some how saving the people actually hurt the bastard. Go figure.

“Guys switch to mass teleportation protocols. Save as many people as you can” my message is telepathic which means the crazy loon probably picked up on it. I still don’t have a legit way too…

Not this time bastard. I throw my hands up casting an invisible shield, the fire from the foot soldier bounced off sending his round back toward him. “Piece of sh!T” I still don’t have a legit way to actually damage. My dupes are hording people, teleporting them in huge droves away from the city—but is it fast enough?

No Caption Provided

For now I’ll leave the fighting to Maverick, they don’t appear to need my help anyways. Then it hits me like thunder, it’s voice. Some sort of angel declaring he was about to wipe the battlefield clean. I was just wondering how this effed up situation could become worse.

Throwing my hands back I generate my magnetism, another useful skill I stole from Sha. Instead of using it to affect the battlefield I push it forward to project it like a beam into the heavens. After watching what this "angel" did to the building, I couldn't risk him actually getting involved. I'm fighting blind though, I literally have no idea WTF it can do. This makes me miss my Seth-sphere my mom made all those years ago, It would allow me to read him based off what he's already displayed...even if I wasn't paying attention to it.

I double tapped my magnetism with another photon blast. That should give me enough time to teleport in the air. I have to keep this guy busy at all cost.

Reality warping, vaguely defined and limited only barely it was a power arguably to much for anyone. If one wanted to advocate paranoia of meta humans reality warblers were someone to look toward. Mai however tried to limit herself, for while she wanted power she wanted it to come from herself. For it to be her muscles that pushed her, her fists that carried her forward. She wanted to be strong like her bro but strength was best when derived from her rather then meta human ability. One of her powers benefits was however her ability to talk to her brother.

<"Toshi, I know my look is uh bad but know this. This isn't your Mai just what she could become. She'll summon a future counterpart to fight for her, but the future isn't set in stone. Don't think of me, just getting back to your little sister."> Mai didn't know how the fight was going on her older brothers end. She however did want to boost his moral like the little Mai so often would. And to remind Toshi that Mai would always want her brother to be a hero not just for her but for everyone. What Mai wanted even more however was to know Toshi would come back to her. Because when it came down to it he was all she had.

Despite putting a hole in the building behind the war monger Mai herself did only minimal harm to the actual target. She wasn't strong enough to bring the titan down with her present strength. Then she found herself in virtually the very eye of the storm as psionic energy began to virtually bathe the suroundings and in doing so rip the world apart. It was all encompassing drawing everything involuntarily towards Asmodeus from cars to corpses and light posts to buildings. And though almost dead center a beauty stood. The Lonely Flower hovering in the air danced in place her movements a haze and all about her was lingering shards of materials kept afloat by motion. She spammed as many swipes of her blade as her speed could muster. With every motion though came additional motions from a martial arts ability that crafted slicing air currents so what was one swing was more like five. Between her own speed and the ability of her training sections of buildings were almost made dust by her countless slashes.

As it ended the air crackled and was electric about the man responsible for the damage. Buildings and wreckage surrounded the area almost beautiful in sculpt in a obscure way. There was a way about him that was alluring, as if promising something more through his ways. She knew it was wrong, but rather then hold her blade in defiance her stance lightened as the scarcely clad beauty walked toward him instead.

"You've shown yourself to be quite powerful but this world will fight you tooth and nail. Instead walk away build a following so that when you come next you can seize this world proper or be fought as you should be." It was perhaps a pipe dream, but she was crossing her fingers that maybe she could appeal to a warriors honor, the longing for proper challenge and power. Maybe she could buy the world time. "Even if you don't leave however I want such power for my own."

With that the Lonely Flower took a knee, like one awaiting knighthood she held her blade in picturesque fashion. Mai had lost her family, her true parents were brutally murdered. And while apart of her thought it cliche, it still haunted her. She craved power, wanted to be stronger. Despite wanting to be a hero the desire was real even then. Of course though her actions weren't noble here, it was also a deception. It was hard to read the motives or thoughts of the Flower because she wasn't here. To a psychic Mai would appear a blank slate, that's because the true her was far away in Japan. The motives of the flower however was to obtain power knowing that she herself wasn't at risk. One could not inslave the flower for soon she'd fade away, this was a double edged sword however.

For the little girl far off in Tokyo might find herself bestowed with a power beyond her comprehension. No guidance, no pryer knowledge Mai was innocent and simply hoping her bro was safe wherever he was.

As Joey's undying smile continued to shine in almost impossibly perfect whiteness, he witnessed the responses that he had come to expect from other people. Mostly, confusion, with doses of negativity and a helluva lot of 'get outta my way'. However, finally someone with some sense of authority appeared, coming down from the sky in a rather impressive display. For a human being. Expressionless, the person looked at Joey and spoke, mask completely covering all features and leaving the Prodigy in a bit of a mystery as to who this person actually was. However, he decided it wasn't that important, and with a thumbs-up to the mystery man, he took off to the skies at what could've been considered a leisurely pace for someone who could go faster than the speed of light.

Breaking past the storm clouds, Joseph looked down at the screen covering Denver, sounds of thunder and flashes of lightning now muffled by distance. Sniffing, he raised his hands lazily, and reached out from deep within to connect with the blasts of lightning down in the clouds. Then, in an instant, a snap- huge arcs of electricity breaking through the cloud barrier and connecting with his hands, illuminating Joey's entire body as it was soon absorbed. Now simple rain clouds, the self-proclaimed Destroyer of Worlds used his control of the skies to force the clouds away, rays of sunlight breaking through below slowly before encompassing the whole city.

Golden light enveloping Joey's frame, he floated down now, silken white cape flapping in the wind almost delicately. Right hand sparking wildly with the excess electricity that he had absorbed from the storm clouds, he found one of the closest robots he could find, and- ignoring it's energy blasts with only a little discomfort- reached out, grabbing it's head with his right hand. Joey then released all the lightning that he had absorbed, supercharging the robot until whatever was inside of it was completely fried. Grinning to himself, he looked up, sky blue eyes scanning the field of drones and focusing on the 'big bad' Asmodeus (@asmodeus_prime). He would be especially hard to take down, that was for certain...

But first, they had to get started. Some guy, at the moment, was telling everyone to run. An idiotic maneuver, surely. Nobody would blindly put their faith in one guy, not without any background, and that's exactly what Joseph thought of the figure (@twin_dragons_). Almost leisurely, Joey started walking toward Asmodeus, making sure that his feet were firmly planted into the ground as the suction from Asmodeus' abilities started to take their toll.

Solaris had been struggling during the battle for some time now, her powers were increasingly waning the longer she was exposed to darkness. Solaris was struggling to even stand up from where she had cast aside the satellite...when suddenly the clouds parted and the first rays of light cascaded down upon her body. Her powers returned immediately and Solaris' dimming eyes ignited in twin blazes of anger. She had been watching so many people die, so much violence since the battle had begun and her increasing anger at not being able to help so long as the sky was dark had built up significantly over time. When Solaris stood she floated up into the air again and channeled her rage as her body absorbed the rays of the sun at increasingly fast rates.

No Caption Provided

Solaris channeled her rage into a radiant ball of devastation, her inner power threatened to emerge entirely, glowing around her hands, feet and body. She blazed like a star, painful to look upon and lit up the sky brighter than the sun above them. She said nothing, she only acted. She took her channeled power and unleashed a devastating solar flare directly into the sky above. The flare was brilliant and would have been devastating had it been targeted at anyone it would have likely ionized them...but that wasn't its purpose. The release of such a potent solar flare sent an EMP burst out across the whole of Denver, threatening to shut down every piece of electronics. True it would disrupt Maverick's efforts...but it could potentially shut down the entire invading army, or at least what was left of it.

This was not her only attack. Now convinced Asmodeus needed to go she unleashed a blast she thought would get past his defenses but probably not kill him. Solaris always held back, there was always more power for her to tap into...but she was loath to kill, even someone like the evil man now invading Denver and threatening to kill everyone. The blast was unlike anything she had been known to release before and it was directed at an extremely specific path. She chose an already broken section of the city that had been cleared of civilians. The massive beam of light traveled at the speed of light. What those unable to perceive things at such speeds saw was a flash and the audible sound of the world screaming in agony as far more heat than it was ever meant to contain was unleashed. The beam wasn't even close to her full power, yet its heat alone vaporized an entire line through the city almost a mile wide. Ruined buildings vanished, reduced to component atoms, corpses were rendered down to primordial goo.

No Caption Provided

It didn't matter if the beam struck its target, it didn't even matter if it was disrupted...there was nothing that could now stop its energy from being released. Fortunately for the city of Denver it was compressed into a single point the size of Solaris' fist. In that one fist sized space was an amount of energy equaling 100,000,000 Megatons, the same amount of force unleashed by the asteroid that killed the dinosaurs, a rock roughly 15 kilometers across traveling at 20 kilometers per hour. To compare that to other massive forces of energy the largest nuclear weapon averaged about 150 megatons and a nuclear World War was calculated at only 10,000 megatons of energy. Even if the beam was stopped the release of energy would have a crushing kinetic impact and release an amount of heat so overwhelming as to threaten to reduce everything in the blast area, an area now devoid of human life, to particles.

Eclipse laughed at the futile attempts to attack him, the first was some being who sent remains towards him. @jackalantern He analyzed them and (due to his intuitive aptitude) realized that something else lay just beyond the body parts and ashes. As they came close he finished his conclusion that these beings were supernatural which would give them some tie to magic. Eclipse was a being who's very presence could disrupt and destroy magical creations as well as negate spells and render magical items useless(due to his magic negation). He was very confident in his assumption but, he wasn't one to only give himself one solution. Rather then expect them to go away he snapped his fingers, causing a wave of cold to shoot from his body. It would freeze anything it came in contact with causing them to become covered in dark ice. Dark Ice had all the destructive properties of ice with none of the weaknesses, it would not only freeze but slowly and painfully crush anything it could wrap it's cold around. Eclipse then furled his wing and let his body fall a little lower, the next attack was one that came his way were concussive blasts of magnetism. @maya_summers He swung the blade with speed that would baffle speedsters, the arc of silver moved in the way of the first beam causing it to deflect and strike a nearby building creating a hole the size of a minivan. The second beam struck his chest, his body began to tumble and he had to extend his wing to regain balance. The straps that held his jacket up had been burned by the blast causing the black garment to slide off his shoulders and fall to the ground. His chest was unharmed though. He remained in the sky hovering about 700 ft above Asmodeous. @solarius Within moments of him regaining his balance his eyes were met with a bright flash that was followed by a complete lack of sound, within moments it was gone. The blast, the heat, the blinding white light, and everything that had apparently been in it's path was gone. His voice rang out once more.

"THAT IS WHAT I'M TALKING ABOUT PEOPLE. LET LOOSE YOUR POWER AND HOLD NOTHING BACK IF YOU WISH TO STOP ME BUT, YOU'LL HAVE TO WAIT YOUR TURNS SINCE IT'S NOW MY MOVE."

Eclipse raised his arms and the ground began to shake with the violence of a magnitude 10 quake. Eclipses hands slowly became fists and the vibrations gained in strength as he did, reaching a point where standing would be impossible for most super humans and buildings were crumbling at their foundations. Eclipse opened his hands and from Asmodeous location large cracks shot outward running along the entire city of Denver. The vibrations stopped with the spread of the cracks there was silence for only a moment before the cracks ripped open. Chasms formed along each one causing a strange spiderweb formation in the ground, each one varied with the smallest being only 20 ft across but the largest were anywhere from a single mile all the way to 3 miles in width and hundreds of feet in depth. The dirt and stone inside wasn't the usual variations of brown, it was pitch black. Every rock and layer melded into one black slab of earth. This was another power he posses the power to manipulate the dark and destructive forces of earth, doing so caused it to change to this pitch black color that they now saw. Eclipse looked over the remains of Denver, the violent shaking had caused a majority of the buildings to collapse and kill anyone inside, the chasms had managed to destroy and demolish anything in their way. This would hopefully put the heroes on edge and cause them to strike. He moved to the ground, accelerating his body at mach 4000. To those who couldn't track those speeds it would look like he had vanished leaving only a shock wave in his place.

He slowed his decent when he was above a man who he deemed would be a worthy opponent, he used his wing to change his impact from a destructive one to one of grace. His feet lightly rested against the ground and the black wing furled into his back. @joey_destroyer_of_worlds Eclipse gave him a once over, choosing not to learn about his powers but rather who he was. The first thing he noticed was the mans aura was that of a go rather then a mortal, not a major god but a minor one in the grand scheme of deity's. (That meant nothing of the gods power just that this god wasn't on the level of the creator of universe's who is normally considered major.) He drew his 8 ft blade and pointed it in his direction with about 2 feet between the tip and the man. He spoke in English this time rather then the other tongue.

"You seem strong, I desire a good fight and you should be able to give me just that. But first tell me what is your name and why do you smell of a god?"

They froze and came back. They wouldn't go away unless Jack did. And cold didn't harm him, intensive heat was his weakness as cold bones and not cold. Which would do nothing. However when the earthquake hit he couldn't stand his ground and fell through a crack. The executioners disappeared but only a moment later a black pheonix flew up on the other side. But it flew at the same speed as light itself. Few would know it was there, if any. Black shadowy soldiers came out if the ground. They could move just as fast as the pheonix and their blades could cut near anything. They flew through the air bearly noticable to attack the being so powerful.

Although inside Jack knew he was more dangerous than himself. His only chance was his ability to adapt.

@apex_

His aim honed. His will power was on the contrary, not as indomitable as many had been lead to believe, for he had seemingly little to fight for, of his own accord. No desire to simply strike a win for humanity. Simply, he lacked personal drive to fight for himself.

"Compensate about two inches to the right if you fire. Mostly just focus on the crosshairs though to stay awake old man."

"As you say." He says with a smile on his lips. The prospect of dying in front of her, dying on her? He couldn't allow that to happen. He could hardly think of anything, but he wished to focus.

Two inches, yes?

He takes a shot towards a deathborne, the round going forward and striking one of them in the head right through the eyes, burrowing into it's CPU to incapacitate it.

Yes...

He vision was swimming and he began to struggle simply to hold up his weapon. But, he allowed the pain to drive him, the thrill to drive him. He may survive and can he truly allow himself to die in front of her? No. He wouldn't allow it, not to her. He indoctrinated her. Trained her himself in his own way, one of many teachers, but he was the first. She was the ideal soldier, and one of the best they had. Her power was great, but her mind was keen. Perhaps, unlike some, she knew what it was like to view the other as siblings. To know what it was like to place true value in one beyond that of simply a chess piece. Each soldier was a tool, an extension of a whole. But each one was a valued tool, not so easily thrown away and cared for. If he were to die here, how would it effect her? She was all he could think about. Her drive, gave him drive. He couldn't move his legs at all, and if not for his healing factor, despite the fact that some people have survived being cut in half, he would likely be dead by now.

But he wasn't. It wasn't just because he could heal. Some passerby Deathborn could have simply walked him by and drained him dry. Some psion could have crushed his skull. He was alive wholly, because of her.

His eyes went over to her, and he held his weapon, but lowered it to the ground, his grip firm, but arm, resting. He fluent, graceful with her movement and most importantly, efficient. Effective. An uncanny aim with an aptitude for melee combat when necessary. His sense of pride, it was overwhelming. His smile, was a bloody one.

He saw a figure approach, blacking in and out, looking towards the sky, he now saw the ceiling. He glanced over to Apex, medical personal swarming him as she bumped his shoulder and he simply, passed out. The man urged to stay awake as she left. He smiled peacefully with his eyes half opened.

"Good work. Soldier."

And then she was gone.

Bradshaw

"Get everyone out of here."

Buildings began to quake, and Maverick anticipated this in wake of such conflict. However, their purpose, despite what many might say, was to defend people, and their building, reflected this. Even Bold, and a majority of the people here, with all their power, could not completely deflect a magnitude ten earthquake. Reinforced ground and buildings in tandem with seismic metamaterials managed to guide the waves away from a bulk of where everyone was, the corporation managing to evade what would have been catastrophic casualty. Aircraft could now appear, an evacuation effort by both the military and Maverick, as well as an offensive effort. Aircraft came in, communications opened up.

"We really gotta thank that kid. Let's start."

Indeed, they had many people to thank. The corporation owed more to the vigilantes, then they would have liked to believe. The objective of the deathborne seemed to be to gather information on earth's greatest heroes, and it was this reason as to why they were here. Maverick was utterly caught off guard, and overwhelmed with the enemy's numbers, tactics and overwhelming weaponry. But indeed, as soldiers gathered, they had been sure to gather wounded and hand them to Sentinel Hawk and Maya Summers. The wounded citizens and men. Families were saved that day. Orphans prevented.

Others had taken the offensive route, and enabled the Mavericks to actually follow in their wake. Bullets could pierce the things but not keep them down. Thermite wasn't ready available, but the use of high temperature fire and plasma ensuing molecular obliteration. Buildings were deflected. Lives were lost. Others did leave with Asmodeus, but nowhere near as many as if everyone had come and decided to do nothing. Had it not been for those who had appeared, there was very little hope of truly winning this battle and the conflict would have been utterly in the control of the so called God emperor Asmodeus.

No Caption Provided

They attacked from all sides, Asmodeus mostly taking missiles and most whatever he saw, and simply throwing them away with his telekinesis, guiding them off target with fierce winds as they veered off into buildings, explosions rippling through the air, as Asmodeus literally however, swats the explosions away simply by stopping the air through sheer telekinetic strength.

They had seen the entity be harmed and recorded it. His entire way of combat seemingly not to be durable but to simply counter strikes thrown at him with his powers. Nemaz had even drawn blood on him with the bullet. They recognized that their fire wasn't pointless, but that the trouble was simply, landing a hit on him. Not only this, but in their attempts towards tactics, they had noticed a startling pattern in Asmodeus' attacks.

He only seemed to actually be able to attack what he himself could see, his telekinesis did not seemingly grant him an all knowing awareness of everything that was going on around him. And so, it did not seem at all impossible to overwhelm him with differing nature of attacks. Despite their attempts, Asmodeus still crushed and swatted away air craft that dare get within his range, throwing shrapnel towards that which was within his range.

"Sure you wanna do this? This...plan of yours. Not going to lie, it's fucking batshit insane."

The man asks Bradshaw, standing on an F-72 fighter jet.

"Few things in life I've ever been so sure of."

He felt that he saw the pattern, that he knew it. He could exploit it, find away around it. There were more solutions to problems then people realized. This seemed stupid, completely insane. But he was a marine once, after all, and he went with his gut.

His boots stopped adhering to the to of the jet as with a thought, he went from standing on top of the jet to simply flying off into the wind like a doll. He span and spiraled through the air, before he regained his balance and diving towards the vortex of air and death without any fear as he was caught in the whirl wind, it swallowed him whole.

His hand goes forward as he shoots his grappling device towards a piece of flying debris, twirled by Asmodeus' power on the outskirts of his vortex, while the heroes dueled the demon like thing in the distance. Another piece of shrapnel. And another. And another across him, was a skyscraper going in the other direction of the orbit heading right for him.

He smiled, his feet anchoring in place as he fired a Hafnium 172 grenade.

*THUPE*

@twin_dragons_@joey_destroyer_of_worlds

The grenade blew a giant, molten hole in the skyscraper, garnering Asmodeus' attention to Bradshaw.

Asmodeus: I thought for sure that would have destroyed the mortal. Where is he? Ah. Oh well....

He shrugs, his power unable to allow him to detect the energies of the blast any longer, indicating Bradshaw had no such weapon.

From the flames, Bradshaw fell forward, falling and seemingly descending into a chasm, he shot his grappling devise his armor hardened to help better with stand G forces as he swung and landed on a rock, Eclipse perfectly within site.

"Well pretty boy, think your so tough?" The mortal man inquires, winking towards Joey. "Tank this."

He fires a shot from a sniper rifle. Not a god-killing round. Not a hafnium bomb. Not even a bullet. Any one who could actually see how fast it was moving, at perhaps 500 miles per hour, could see that it was seemingly nothing more seemingly a paintball at first glance. If it so hit Eclipse, or anything really, it would in itself, absolutely no damage. Only mark him with a hot-pink fluid. In actuality, due the cleared storm, it offered a tracking beacon.

Bradshaw practically disappeared, as smoke appears at his feet, he is simply gone. As within a moment, the true attack would launched.

The Hellbore Maverick possessed was active and whatever was marked, was set to be shot by what would of course be for most metahumans even, overkill. The satellite fired a focused particle beam at close to 99% the speed of light. The fastest they'd seen Eclipse move was mach 4000. However, such speeds coming at him were far in excess that, of 663,910,463 miles per hour. Somewhere of approximately mach 860,000. Somewhere in the range of 215 times greater than him. At such speeds, the particle beam destroyed most everything on the atomic level and conventional matter stood no chance of surviving impact from it. Temperatures of the Hellbore managed to reach that of perhaps some 12 billion degrees Fahrenheit by the time it actually got to them, far in excess the sun's temperatures with the nuclear levels of energies they efficiently used, the velocity of the blast surpassed that of nuclear weapons and even supernovas, but was more focused, with much less destructive capacity. The beam would simply appear for only a few microseconds before a massive explosion would ensue and dig a hole towards the crust of the earth with it's simple raw, firepower.

Wonder if that did it.

Bold

Bold blinks, looking in the distance from Maverick Inc, still so far standing, a VTOL appearing behind him as people leave. "Sorry sir. It's time." He lets out a heavy sigh. Walking over to it, leaving Maxwell due to his lack of use. He knew his death would deal a great blow to Maverick, but, he still craved to fight alongside them.

"Maybe another time."

He stepped onto the VTOL, boarding it as it cloaked from visible sight and left. His army managed itself. There was no need for him here.

What a lovely day.
What a lovely day.

Asmodeus smiled out of joy, as the man had laid about so far unrivaled destruction to the city of Denver. Indeed, he'd done what the God Emperor had intended to do. Nothing more than pure destruction. His objective was ultimately, to simply make people lose hope. To see themselves as lost, powerless .And to tempt them, into power.

The Maya Summers had figured this out, and as people were able to leave, they were less inclined to accept empowerment at his hand, less inclined to accept deals. Ultimately, however, much had been gathered. He had witnessed what earth was capable of in retaliation for such an attack like this. Crucial battle data gathered by both. However, the amount of death, was in fact, lacking. As the Mavericks had also so managed to move many of the people back, while many were healed, others were teleported away en mass. The sun had shined now, the storm cleared. The death borne were losing, and Asmodeus saw the effects of what occurred. His own field, shrunk in size. With that, his range decrease.

Scarecrow pulled out his large scythe and did what he had done before, hacked and hacked but this time he released a fear toxin. A very deadly toxin that was absorbed through the skin and protection. However he kept it away from his allies.

His mind was un-afflicted, by sheerly the fact that the toxins simply could not at all reach Asmodeus under these conditions. Wind twirled, and he practically kept himself in a vaccum due to his current lack of need to breath.

He saw the little girl, cutting apart debris. She was the one who struck him, and he wished to simply, crush her internal organs with a glance.

"You have done your part, my acquaintance."Telepathically, he speaks to Vitus, high up in space. "I will take the rest from here."

Deathly, dully glowing eyes went about to his environment. The Third eye of Asmodeus that allowed him the perception of energy, the ability to simply feel it's presence. The more intense the energy, the more aware he became of it. Solaris, had become like something a bright glowing beacon, her raw power also made him staggeringly aware of her positioning, distance and activity, as he felt her begin to manifest this energy. Moreover, the Elysian Emperor had spent thousands of years training himself to detect particularly, magical energies. By the very nature of these high powered and magical attacks, Asmodeus could very easily perceive them in the making. Particularly with the higher levels of what had been thrown at him. When in actuality, so far, most all of those whom had struck him. He smiled, his plan devise.

"Come then, bright one."

He spoke directly to Solaris, very casually, as the spear headed towards him, he gathered air within his hand swatted the blade away, a large boom accompanying the travel a hypersonic gust of air, sending it flying several miles into the sky.

"Let us see if you will be the one."

Rocks and shrapnel began to fall from the ground as Asmodeus simply stopped tearing the area apart. Buildings, parts of buildings, lamp-posts and cars rained from the sky as he stared at Solarius.

"Let your hatred grow."

Perfect Mirror

The beam of light came towards him, searing everything near it as it approached into molten rock. No ambient object he could pick up, could have possibly blocked the attack, a focused blast of 100,000,000 Megatons, or a 100 Teraton (Of TNT) Impact, collided against the mirror for time less than nanoseconds, before it was was reflected like anything else that hit the mirror. His hand extended, as he simply shunted the air away and created a vaccum. This gave the beam little to actually conduct it's heat towards as it would simply remain.

A wicked smile had creeped onto Asmodeus' faces as ambient radiation began to slowly burn his flesh away, constant effort being directed towards regenerating himself as he burned. The mirror? It took no effort to summon and no effort to maintain. A lifewiping attack, casually deflected into the direction of innocents, very near Maverick Inc. The nature of his attack, meant he couldn't manipulate the light directly with his Elder Stave, as it absorbed some of the ambient energy around him, it couldn't take it all. His flesh seared and boiled as ambient plasma created shined on him from a distance, cooking practically anything around the beam in a bright ray of light, such power hardly able to be contained. It's focused nature however, was the main thing that made so easily deflected.

Not only this, but she'd completely and utterly shut down much of Maverick airpower in one single EMP burst blast. Though of course, they have many of their electronics shielding, faraday cages could protect most things. Their exosuits and the like were extreme, practically anything used to actually by them that had to interface with the outside world however, was gone. The worst of hit however, came from where Asmodeus actually reflected the blast to, the most populated portion of Denver. (I leave the EMP up to Vitus as to how it effects his soldiers)

Easily, this blast had wiped out at least many tens of thousands of people in one fail swoop, reducing them to hot plasma over the span of nanoseconds, destroying quite the sum of Maverick's forces who were caught too close, civillians and other heroes in the area, adding to an already considerable toll of death and destruction. Luckily, it was laser, having a range limit of twenty miles before it would simply fly off the curvature of the earth, unaffected and uninhibited by levels seen within earthly gravity.

Asmodeus looked like a skeleton, conscious effort required for him to regenerate as he cackled to himself, burnt flesh turned back to what once was.

"You fools..."

A look of shock, suddenly crafted onto his face as newfound blood trickled from his chest. Surprise. He coughed up blood.

The spear.

His expression deadened. Everything he did, it required focus. Focus that took away from the senses, focus that took away from actively using his already dwindling power. He knew it was only a matter of time, but wished that he had only had more time to do so much more to this city. To plunge it deeper into the pits of war and despair. He smiles.

Oh well.

He plunges downward towards the ground, his stave plummeting with him, as chains begin to ensnare him, he struggles, moving his body through telekinesis alone, with no need for a nervous system as he grabs the spear's hilt. Slowly, however, he can feel his magic being drained. Power failing him as he plummeted. However, Asmodeus carried very little of his power in his actual body, it seemed. The fall seemed to last forever, until after a minute, he smacked into the ground, his abilities enabling him to slow himself down on impact.

His body was immediately pinned to the ground. He was laying on his back, impaled with the spear, but still visibly, currently alive. The weapon however, literally pinned him to the ground. Chains? They bound him. His staff? I fell from the sky, finally hitting the ground, before it blinked away back to Elysium of his master's own accord. Leaving only little Lord Asmodeus on the blackened ground.

He conserved his strength, for now, keeping himself alive. He breathed, requiring such biological processes to aid in the sustaining of his form, as he looked upwards towards the sky. His face, straight as he coughed blood, pumping and routing it through his body appropriately.

Before he began to laugh maniacally.

"Heheheheheh....

AHAHAAHAAHAHAHAAHA!!!!"

@asmodeus_prime:

Some would have given into despair or blamed themselves...Solaris saw only one person to blame. If he could deflect beams, she'd give him something he couldn't deflect. Solaris accelerated suddenly, soon breaking the sound barrier she slammed to the ground just in front of the prone Asmodeous. The pavement cracked beneath her feet from the impact, her eyes burned. Furious nearly to the point of unreason Solaris had simply had it with Asmodeous and frankly with everything she did being manipulated and exploding in her face.

Solaris didn't use a beam this time, instead she channeled energy and formed a sphere of solar devastation around Asmodeous as he lay prone on the ground. The sphere was immensely hot, a ball of raging plasma that for all intents and purposes was a miniature sun given form on the ground. The heat intensity was as hot as Earth's own sun and though it would lack the crushing gravity of a real star the plasma and heat would hopefully keep Asmodeous in pain and prevent him from trying anything else. It was cruel...but Solaris had lost her patience and the only thing preventing her from attempting to kill him was her own moral code.

For her part The Custodian did exactly what Solaris knew she would do...she caught Maverick's failing aircraft in gentle graviton cushions and lowered them to the ground a safe distance away, gently setting them on the ground so the pilots could escape and the craft would be largely in tact. Solaris had known what the flair would do but it was designed not to harm maverick as much as force the final retreat of their enemies. Those who found their aircraft disabled were saved and then The Custodian went about helping the rest, removing disabled Maverick forces from the area and even using her bare hands to simply helped trapped people escape. She used her powers to levitate rubble and move it from trapped civilians and soldiers alike.

@solarius: @asmodeus_prime: Maxwell watched as his plan came to fruition, he watched the spear rip through Asmodeous's chest and the chains bind him as he fell. Maxwell approached the body of Asmodeous but, not before something else zipped past him. He saw a blinding light where Asmodeous was restrained, it came with an immense heat. Maxwell raced towards what had become a small star before he cast another spell.

"Ten Layered Magic Circle: MIRROR WATER"

10 different sigils gathered infront of the sun and began sucking the energy from it, it shrunk before completely disappearing. Maxwell tilted his hands forward before all the energy that the sigils had consumed shot into the sky. It was a blinding beam, a mix of white and yellow that left just as soon as it came. Max ran up to both beings, he positioned himself between Asmodeous and the one who had made the star. His twin blades firmly in his hands.

"I don't know who you are or why your doing this but, it's not worth the lives of everyone here to kill this man. That was a miniature sun and it could've killed us all. I don't know where your morals lie but in my guild we refuse to kill anyone no matter how evil they are. Every life is sacred, besides look at him. He's weakened enough to where almost anyone could kill him, so I'll tell you this. If you try something else like that I will stop you, In the Name of Fairy Tail I will not let you kill this man."

While Maxwell's eyes were the only thing visible underneath all his robes, looking at those eyes would give only a glimpse to his steely resolve. His red Iris's blazed with focus and his hands were firm.

Maxwell was indeed correct. Contrary to what many was it may appear to be, Asmodeus does not truly have "durability" so far outside that of the human body that he was so inclined to survive any exposure to the sun like blast. Indeed, hadn't Maxwell stopped Solarius, she would have killed him right then and there. Still, his body could survive a brief, split second exposure, as more of it seared and his effort became more conscious to keep himself alive, his wounds were not healing.

The chains, draining the very same energies Asmodeus was using to mend hi s body and keep it conscious, was draining the very same energies Asmodeus need to live so long as the spear was lodged in his chest and forcing him to reroute his blood flow throughout his body, in essence, pumping his blood through his mind and will alone.

"How noble." He comments with a smirk.

"I had thought such heroes had long gone. Indeed, based on what I'd been told, I expected a thrilling execution. I must admit, I am rather...disappointed. But enlightened. You are all very, interesting. Earth is underestimated."

He smiles at Solarius, completely blinded by the flash but still sensing the energy she had within her. His face reduced to cinders out of pleasure.

Thank you, "Heroes" of earth. This was rather fun."

His energy runs low and he no longer makes a conscious effort towards staying up or even maintaining this body. With the spear through his heart, his body damaged and the very forces that allowed him to sustain himself being drained away from him, it would only be perhaps a few seconds before he would be clinically dead. And two minutes before he was dead beyond resurrection, bleeding heavily onto the ground, now.

"Looks like we'll have to put this on hold for now but, I will be back for you mortal."

Eclipse turned his attention to Bold who had just made the attempt to hit him with some sort of projectile. It exploded against his bare chest, covering it with pink. Then he turned his head to the sky as a massive assault came from the sky. His whole world was enveloped in blinding light, but like the previous blast it was gone as quickly as it came. When the smoke cleared a strange black dome was where Eclipse had been standing, the black material faded away into a misty cloud. Eclipse stood with his skin covered in blisters and some portions of his body smoking, his wing was charred yet his face was one of pure glee.

"That was a solid hit but, when I can completely manipulate the properties of darkness it won't do much. All I had to do was create that indestructable cloud and now I'm not dead. It did do some damage though, first time I've been hurt in a while."

Eclipse then felt pain shoot through his body, one of his arms fell to the ground below. He looked down at the limb that now lay on the ground, he then felt another slash across his back. Wherever he got hit, black mist was pouring out. Eclipse stood in shock then that shock turned into rage, he slammed his blade into the ground and a wave of black lightning shot from his current position. Eclipse was able to manipulate the waves speed and thus it came forth at the speed of light. The black energy wouldn't just super heat and shock, no it would disintegrate anything it touched. Black Lightning would even destroy regular lightning. Just as quickly as the wave had come it was gone, the energy leaving nothing on the ground but char and ash. Eclipse beat his wing and carried himself towards Asmodeous, he went top speed of Mach 9000 before stopping. As he stopped he sent out a blast of wind that would hopefully send the heroes in front of Asmodeous flying. He touched the chains and spear, causing them to explode back into Mana.

"I fear it is time for us to leave, this has been a blast but honestly I have need for this one to live. Shatter dear, can you do daddy a favor and get us out of here."

Just as quickly as he spoke a semi large and silver pool formed behind them. Eclipse stepped through and gestured for Asmodeous to do the same.

"Looks like I need to power up a bit more before I come back here. See ya later Mortals."

@asmodeus_prime(and all the rest):

The cosmic vampire sat up, leaning forward as narrowed, embrous eyes gazed at rows of monitors facing him. He would "take the rest from here?" What could his erstwhile ally possibly mean by-

Before the question was even fully formed, he had his answer, as he abruptly lost contact with every Deathborn on the battlefield. There were only two possible ways that so many units could have been taken offline so quickly, and as a quick glace at his own ship's scanners showed that city still existed, that left only one: an electromagnetic pulse.

So that was it, then, Vitus mused, as he sat back in his chair. His soldiers had no defense against something of that nature. Depending on the strength of the pulse, adamantine legionaries could have possibly weathered it, but right now, every Deathborn in Denver would be little more than an immobile chunk of metal. Even if some of them managed to reboot their core systems, it would be to no avail; the containment fields keeping the living souls that powered them would have been compromised, robbing the mechanical terrors of their single greatest edge.

Still though, the goal of this exercise had not been to "win" a battle, after all. He was here to gain valuable data on the capabilities of his own units, as well as on Earth's defenders, and he now had terabytes of that for the Imperium's analysts to dissect and ponder. Clawed fingers danced across the controls of his bridge, punching in the coordinates for the planet Infernus. His work here was done, for now.

@solarius: @maxwell_hastings: @asmodeus_prime: @twin_dragons_:

"That's rich, throws a spear into a heart and says he's not a killer." Mai remarked under her breath in amused commentary. It was a noble ideal made by a clearly talented magician but it still cracked the teenager up. Splitting ones heart in half wasn't the actions made by someone usually not lethal in their approach. However the flower of another time wasn't going to let this adversary have a chance to escape. The best way to stop monsters was to keep them from going back into hiding.

Mai had fallen into the irrelevant catogory, she sought power and to join Asmodeus. Thus she wasn't looked to as an enemy to confront, all the while the attacks both impacting and deflected were things that didn't count for her. So she sat and waited, a gust of wind came the way of those around those gathered. With a slash of her vermillion blade however the current was cut and directed away from the teen. The one winged associate of Denver's attacker was reaching for the chains. Seeking to counter and disipate the magic. Mai however hoped Maxwell could maintain the encantation, that her speed would be enough to make one more move upon the wounded.

Mai wasn't fast in comparison to those around her fast as a fighter jet was all she could muster. Her strength only went in low double digits, she was focusing on trying to capitalize on timing. Between actions and words in hopes of landing a surprise blow from someone forgotten on the field. As for the flowers attack it was a swing like that of the finest baseball player more like the swing of a sportsfan then a swordsman. Expert muscle control looked to turn the swing into a barrage of air pressure. An eruption of force would escape from the blade, releasing enough energy to split a sky scraper in half. The scarcely clad sword wielder sought to turn the opposition into a paste.

@solarius: @maxwell_hastings: @asmodeus_prime: @twin_dragons_:

Down the line Alex would fail to bee weighted down by the tragedy of the Black House, perhaps it was in part do to what she had to see today. Death came with the territory but that didn't make it any harder to cope with, and sometimes living was worse. It was nightmarish to try and be strong and reassuring to a friend who was leaking his organs. Alex wasn't a fan of melee combat, her style brutal to make up for her faults as best she could. Today she had to fight such a way and now her hands were soaked in blood. Her fingers stuck together some from the carmine fluids caking her skin. And if that wasn't enough, an attack came with no purpose, with no direction. Well that wasn't true it's purpose was to hurt people, it's direction was toward the defenseless.

Alex saw the flash of light in all its apocalyptic glory. Her eyes never missed a thing, seeing the world at a constant and as such in a way her natural perception was a world in slow motion. A large beam of energy raced forward and the archer saw the reaction some stupified some panic and many many more however were oblivious. Be they just trying to cope with today's drama or trying to escape the thousands were struck without mercy. Their bodies burned down to nothing in an instant frozen as statues of ash before fading into the flowing dry current that followed the wave of plasma. And then as quick as it came, it was gone the ruins all that were left. Cars were molten slag, and the asphalt was a bubbling tar more so then a road. Buildings once reaching for the skies had begun falling in on themselves.

Soft brown eyes closed as the archer cleared her mind. She was standing on a tower that was slightly rocking back and forth from the damage endured. Her hair fluttered about in a calm fashion and she tried to steel her heart in a similar fashion. She wanted to rage, but that could muddy the shot, Alex rather slowed her post and carefully drew an arrow. Her hands shook a moment but she managed to steady them as she pulled the string back. It was her hope she would never have to use one of these, but for thousands of lives the demand was there.

The arrow passed through a portal looking to try and rise from another portal hopefully planted immediately below Asmodeus. She didn't want to give him so much as the chance to stand, as the arrow looked to pierce the body. However being close alone would do for Alex had chosen to relenquish and detonate a thermite arrow.

It was a solitary gram, the smallest yield one could manage done because even that scared the archer. One thousand three hundred thirty mega joules of explosive force was set free from that one broad head. It was practically a miniaturized nuke she'd sought to exspose the Denver Devil to. A large portion of the energy beyond natural heat and force was brought on by gamma and X-ray radiation. Energy that had little to no mass and as such would pass through most matter without flaw beyond thick lead and the like. It was such a simple action the draw of the bow string, and the shot was one of Alex's simplest. Despite that however it suggested a greater conviction to claim a life then perhaps the archer had ever showcased. Shattered families and countless people victimized drove the archer to turn to an arrow she herself feared.
