Xandra may have only been a US detective technically speaking, but that didn't mean she wasn't allowed to visit other places. Especially ones as fascinating as Rome. She walked throughout the streets until she approached Vatican city.

Rome itself may have been rather small. but the city felt bigger in a totally different way then places like New York city or most any city in america for that matter. It was a remnant of an empire that spanned far and wide but was now oh so small but still somehow beautiful, and it was also a standing sign of a religion that had gone even further and longer then the empire had.

Another interesting factor about Xandra was that she could sense anything in shadows or that was producing a shadow. Which meant while her eyes and ears saw the sights and sounds, her umbrakinetic sense caught onto the complexity of even more then that. She spread her arms wide and just looked up for a moment taking it all in with a smile. Not expecting, or at least not aware, that a more sinister individual might have also been present for whatever reason was their own.

@warthen:

The distinctive clap of designer heels, along with two exaggeratedly large men, accompanied what many considered to be the deadliest member of the LeBeau clan as she aggressively marched towards the visitor's entrance. Where many basked in the breathtaking beauty that was the Vatican, Angelique simply hissed with spoiled arrogance and defiant degradation. Having previously enjoyed a morally bankrupted relationship with her lost brother, Florian, Angelique LeBeau hated few things more then man crafted religion. Which made her the perfect agent in her father's universal war against God, Man, and everything inbetween.

Having been dispatched from the past in order to retrieve a mystical relic unearthed in the future, the LeBeau Legacy arrogantly believed herself immune to detection. A relative unknown in a drastically altered future, escorted by two premiere members of her father's cabal of dedicated disciples, there would be few obstacles capable of standing in her way.

Refined cultural upbringing governed the former assassin's seductive strides and hip swaying movements. Her excellent observational skills allowing for a plethora of visual exploration. From 18th century masterpieces to more recent archaeological revelations, Angelique admired the collection of housed artifacts until finally coming across a spectacular display set up for an exclusive rarity. The gem like object cast a dazzling array of luminescent colors, but as its identification card legitimized, much of its origin and composition was unknown. Well, for most anyway. For the daughter of the blood bending Arashikage knew exactly what it was and what its full potential was capable of.

Slowly the esoteric viper let her jacket slide off her bare shoulders revealing a warlike sheath of protective armor. Slender and form-fitting, it would never the less substantially upgrade Angelique's already impressive durability. Rolling her neck and head from right to left, she grinned and harmonically sighed. "Mmmmm, shall we begin boys?" her question instantly igniting her entourage, prompting them into tactical action as they began to lay siege to the unsuspecting guards on scene. While she herself gently plucked the gem up between her poisonous fingernails. "One down. Six to go" she sneered. Completely unaware of the traveling detective mere feet away.

@lebeau_legacy:

As Xandra enjoyed the city she suddenly stopped, something was off. Her mind picked up on the situation quickly even though the only feeling she had been able to use to notice it was her umbrakinetic sense and intuition. Her eyes darted towards the source. Xandra was out of anyones sight quickly but also nonchalantly, where she changed rapidly into her uniform as Destiny maintaining attention to what was probably going on.

She rushed forwards in absolute silence as the suit prevented her from making any unintentional noise and then camouflaged itself to become functionally invisible to most.

What did you think I wasn't paying attention. She thought to herself launching electroshock darts at the necks of both the guards and extending her bo staff attempting to slam it soundly against the back of the assassins neck far faster then a normal human was capable of.

Her mind was actually busy mapping out how the entire battle would go instinctively without her conscious effort. This was where her battle precognition came into play, at this point there was no effort at all in finding out what would happen before it did almost identical to how a normal precog would have.

@warthen:

With silken subtly Angelique slightly tilted her head narrowly dodging the surgical stealth attack that had been launched from behind. Her henchmen were hit and instantly incapacitated, grounded and convulsing from the electrical currents streaming through their bodies. "Whats this.."the legacy venomously purred. Gracefully shifting her physical gait without taking a traditional defensive stance. Hers was open, almost aggressively so, inviting the would be do gooder to press the attack, to make a move and test her martial mettle against a goddess of death.

Decades of martial arts dedication coursed through the icy veins of Jean Luc's only daughter. A murderous prodigy from the Prime Universe she had been worshiped in cults, revered and feared, responsible for the death of a heroic icon and the harbinger of a horrific new era. Her mission here today was of her father's bedding and she would not, could, not, fail him.

Almost immediately the Swiss Guard, the Vatican's de-facto military, had begun setting up a perimeter and surrounding the building. "We dont have much time, but there are oh so many ways to kill you with." a wicked grin bore her ivory teeth as she motioned for the unknown interloper to come on. "Do not disappointment hero. I do so hate to be bored."slipping the gem into her back pocket, Angelique quickly leveled a telepathic thought that invisibly cloaked any and all civilians caught inside the museum. A simple suggestive thought and they set upon the acrobatic detective. Attempting to punch and kick, claw and bite their intended target. "Are you coming?" Angelique sardonically quipped.

@lebeau_legacy:

"No point in hiding I suppose." Xandra's almost lighthearted voice said as she was fully visible again her blue eyes peering out of the hood. She leaned against the bo staff at first not taking a foolish move of attacking at the original moment the assassin seemed to be giving her.

"Ugh, you're such a cliche." She said as she sensed the civilians much with her battle precognition, and just as importantly remembered their locations, heights, builds, and probable attacking patterns as she leaped through the air dancing on their heads just enough to either knock them out or knock them over but without causing permanent damage, "Nothing new ever happens." She laughed tossing a grenade into the air that was designed to absorb all light and sound within a wide vicinity and keep it up for a limited time. The reason for this? Xandra could sense anything in darkness as well as that gave off a shadow. If she were to cause everything in the vicinity to become that, it would give her a complete battlefield awareness that most others wouldn't be able to maintain.

Let's see just how extensive your abilities and senses are shall we? You blocked my attack which suggests precognition, telepathy, or an extremely high awareness like my uncles. Xandra thought throwing several darts at her opponent and then a gas pellet that should hopefully get into the womans lungs and paralyze her temporarily.

@warthen:

With a prolific display of perfected muscle memory, the dexterous villain moved like stream of weightless water. Spinning and shielding her eyes as her opponent's projectile exploded. Seeking to robe Angelique of her senses, the Arashikage trained martial artist instead smiled and recaptured her stalled momentum. Blindly jumping into a one-handed cartwheel up, on, and eventually over life-size glass case housing one of the museums coveted artifacts, using it to nimbly dodge the would be hero's secondary attempts at putting her down. Stylistically outmaneuvering the volley of darts, the venerated vanguard of the LeBeau clan continued to leverage her body through a countless series of acrobatic flips, vaults, and spins as to avoid any further projectiles using her photographic reflexes to mockingly duplicate the very same movements the detective had gymnastically employed to escape the onset of mind controlled civilians.

She didnt need to see or even hear to sense the subtle alterations in the atmosphere. The charged shifts in the air, each holding a million different telegraphs. A million different warnings and alerts. To fight blind and deaf was a rudimentary skill, as was the employment of street level gadgets.

"Has combat not evolved at all in dee future?" she smugly hissed, landing in an a flexed crouched position. Arms extended like the wings of a swan, legs crossed and bent at the knee. "Are you even worthy of a death by my hand?" her emerald eyes seemingly twinkling at the prospect. "Lets find out."Her words were muted, she could not hear herself speak or see her target by conventional means. Seasoned intuition would govern her future actions. Photographic memory would guide her through the maze of relics and invaluable artifacts. Before long the Swiss Guard would breach the museum, adding yet another complication to the LeBeau Legacy's attempted theft.

Without warning or premeditated tell, Angelique darted towards the detective with superhuman speed and agility. Gracefully closing the gap between the two before waving her left arm upwards using an invisible telekinetic rift to tear the floor up beneath Warthern's feet, while simultaneously using her telepathy in an effort to shut down the hero's motor-functions, the ability to move and react. Leaping into the air, she twirled and spun, attempting to land right on the chest of her opponent as the ground beneath them violently lurched upwards, and then sought to drive a telepathically forged blade straight through the detective's chest. All without the aid of sight or sound.

@lebeau_legacy:

Ah, photographic reflexes most likely then, possibly some sort of awareness like feeling the air move. Or perhaps an ability like my own. Xandra thought as the woman managed to mimic Xandra's movements while dodging her attacks. She wasn't just going to stand still, and the grenade was about to stop absorbing all the light and sound. Although it had done her good, she was far faster and stronger when it was dark. So even when light started seeping in again she kept it light enough for normal people to see, but dark enough to still give her enhanced abilities from it.

She saw the woman returning a mile away. After all what else was she going to do? Run? There were only two other reasonable options, one which could be more easily stopped the other which she'd also be able to notice easily. Unfortunately there was an entirely different attack the woman had created, the floor opened up beneath her and she shoved her feet against one side holding on as it did so, only for the woman to attack her telepathically trying to stop her motor skills.

Oh you fudge nugget. That's not even a skill, just a power you dang telepath. She thought half annoyed as the woman began heading her way and Xandra began to fall. Nope!

There were two reasons that made the assassins telepathic attack only partially effective, the first was that her suit could alter her gravitational pull according to her mental commands which were still intact, the second was that she had the ability to phase which required no physical movement to manage.

Just as the assassins feet made contact with Xandra's chest she umbrakinetically phased through and then used the suits features to suddenly fly off to the side trying her best to start moving again. But for now all she could manage were practically twitches, So much for that. But I'm not finished either.

The darkness made her faster and amplified her senses even farther then they already were. So little could surprise her here in the physical world. Everything was just variables playing out to the end since both probably knew what the other was about to do. She flew across the room using the gravity manipulation to do so flinging towards the woman at high speeds, but she didn't intend on hitting her, she was going to phase through again and then turn back around as she passed by and hopefully slam into her. Since she couldn't yet move much she was using a combat more like drunken fist then anything else.

@warthen:

Angelique's feet forcibly slid backwards after having been struck by the otherwise ineffectual strike, before arresting the momentum stylishly transforming her motion into a rapid series of back-handsprings. Instantly creating separation between herself and her phasing opponent.

Patting her hand over her mouth mockingly pretending to be tired, she smirked and taunted. The eldest daughter of Jean Luc had weighed the mettle of her opponent and found her wanting, or so she believed anyway. From gadgets to environmental strategy the undercover American detective and employed the same types of fundamental offense attacks as literally every other hero who operated within Gothic City.

'Theatricality and deception' she thought to herself. Or more a flashing observation then a fully formed thought.

Somehow the detective had brushed away the lethal combination of tk and tp, leaving the LeBeau Legacy lackadaisically propped up by a statue a safe distance away. Her dismissive posture portrayed a loss of interest. She had metaphorically fought this fight before.

Death was nowhere to be found and the gem was secured, so Angelique sighed and cleared the lipstick from the corner of her mouth with her poisonous fingernail. Looking towards the entrance as the Swiss Guard breached the door, the former assassin waved her free hand and cast a telepathic illusion over the siege. To them she was just another victim, another survivor to be rescued and ferried outside to safety. And so she was. Where she vanished behind the veil of chaos, sirens, and bystanders. A portal of her father's esoteric making appearing in the street allowing Angelique to return to her legitimate CVnU timeline.

@lebeau_legacy: (I don't know if you'd be fine with this continuing storywise or not. But if you are it's possible CVBU could find where the portal leads, or rather what time she was really from. Especially considering he's from the same universe and figured it out himself.)

Xandra had begun moving again with effort forcing herself to her feet but not before the woman had managed to get the attention of the authorities thinking her a civilian before she vanished through a esotoric portal.

She seems unwilling to go full on fighting instead focusing mostly on her goals. A good strategy unfortunately, and an annoyance for the authorities. I lost today, that's obvious. Her powers were a bit to much for me to handle. But that doesn't mean I'm going to leave it be, it's my job to try and deal with stuff like this

She eyed where the woman had vanished her mind deducing every power and skill she had seen preparing both herself and to report on what occurred before she herself decided to become invisible allowing the light in the room to return to full as she headed to prepare her report. Her visit to Rome had become a case. Wherever that woman went she knew one way to find out, and to prepare for future assaults. Her uncle knew much of magic and science, even if he couldn't track her down he could prepare Xandra for any future situations with this thief.
