Big Changes For The Punisher in 2015!!!

The West Coast-set Punisher relaunch from last year from Nathan Edmondson and Mitch Geradswill wrap up in early 2015, but not because of sales.

Instead it regards the direction of the story.

Expect the character to go through big changes, along the lines of Captain America, Iron Man, Thor and Daredevil…

And as a result, expect two new high profile Punisher books out next year, one being a mature readersMAX title.

Also hoping they announce a Punisher NETFLIX series soon!

They're probably going to come out with an entirely new universe, although they better keep Elektra out of it.

This sounds good, although, I am really enjoying his solo right now. Knowing it's changing direction is a bit of a let down.

Im enjoying his current series also, but it's nothing compared to Max and Greg Rucka's Punisher IMO.

Ehh... I think they should only have one Punisher Max. It'll just feel like Punisher Max 2 is trying to replace it. I hope 616 Punisher is just as brutal as Max, though. Or, if they make a MAX title of Punisher again, they can make it take place in 616. I would love that.

Excellent point. One of the reasons why I like the series now is how they are keeping that ruthlessness about him. A Max series involving the 616 Frank would be cool.

Obviously Frank is going to full superhero, or something in that realm.

The MAXX title will probably be for classic Punisher while the second title will be a 616 title with Frank having a change of heart.

With the new direction from Marvel, they'll have Castle killed off or retire, and make the new Punisher a woman/minority.

They will probably make Rachel COle Alves from Rucka's run the New Punisher and I would probably be fine with it. THEY did they we might have two Punisher books. One could be about Frank and other the new Punisher.

Sorry. Any interest I had in the Punisher died in 1987.

Doesn't sound good at all since a lot of tough ruthless characters from the 70s and 80s just keep getting toned down and end up as nothing more than as shells of there former selves and female versions of male characters are nothing special at all.

Not really, and little since before then. I gave the John Romita Jr Punisher War Zone a try. Fell out of love when he left the book.

Well, I got into comics in March 2012. One of the first comics I started reading was Greg Rucka's Punisher. Instantly fell in love with the character. It is soo well written. I still miss that run after it got cancelled. Also been reading Garth Ennis Punisher. Amazing stuff. Greg Rucka's Punisher run is a must read IMO if anyone looking to get into Punisher.

@neghead: read Garth Ennis' work in Punisher MAX....specifically "In The Beginning", "The Slavers" and "Up is Down and Black is White". Probably some of the best writing in comic book history. A very far cry from the mindless action of the 80's.

Anybody read Punisher: Year One? Is that any good?

You guys are fed with anything that Bleeding Cool gives you? Well, you should research and ask to the guys who run the show, instead of talking nonsense and rumors.

First of all, we all know ( and if you don't, you are living in a cave or something...) Garth Ennis is working with Goran Parlov in a Punisher MAX miniseries called "The Platoon", it will be based in his first tour in Vietnam.

About the ending of the current series in the beginning of 2015 is b.s., i have talked with Edmondson and Gerads about that article and they gave a few laughs about it. Maybe it will end in mid 2015 but not so soon as BC mentioned. Unless Marvel change their minds and cancel the book, which is a possibility they have done it before with Rucka and other titles.
We have the solicit for Punisher #14 that will be released in January and from the preview it doesn't seem to end soon.

I'm kinda relieved hearing this as I'm seriously enjoying this current run the most as much as I enjoyed Rucka's run.

Well in the latest interview, Edmondson stated that he planned 18 issue run, so if this happens and if he doesn't continue his story this might end in May.. so it is almost in the mid of the year.

Anyone know how Edmondson´s Punisher sells? High/low? Alright/disastrous?

Sale was not bad. In october there were 28,000 sold. But Marvel cancels books that drop under 25,000

Writers have the ability to retcon certain segments of a comic or make it uncanon. A reboot isn't needed, it will erase all the good stuff.

@knightsofdarkness2: Well, it doesn't have to be a full blown reboot, it'll probably erase just a few parts.

It sucks that this is not going to happen. At least not this year.
