The Phoenix Force is a cosmic force that represents life that has, will, and ever will exist, as well as destruction and rebirth. It is one of the most powerful and feared beings in existence because of its role in the universe. To contribute in evolution of life, it "burns away what doesn't work" to make room for new life to grow. In the previous universe, the Phoenix tries to repair the damaged M'Kraan Crystal from destroying the multiverse, only to find that it is too late. With the damage already done and the end inevitable, the Phoenix saved Earth-0's inhabitants from eternal damnation with a promise of being reborn in the next universe. It is this act that safeguards Galen, a leftover survivor of us crew, who had been chosen by Eternity to house the last of its being and become Galactus. (See M'Kraan section for details) After the "Big Crunch", the Cosmic Egg housing Galactus exploded into what we know as the Big Bang. In its fires, comes the birth of a new universe, a new Eternity and Infinity, and a new Phoenix. Formerly, the Phoenix was a formless mass of energy, fed by life's natural fiery cycle, until it came across a terran magician on Earth, known as Feron, whose daydream like visions of the mythical Phoenix prompted the entity to adopt the cosmic firebird form we know today and the rest is history.....

1. Phoenix Force

As most know, the Phoenix Force is one of the most feared entities in the cosmos, for with the it comes the reminder that one day, all life will return to the Phoenix at the universes end. So, as one would expect, it house great power on a cosmic scale, most notably its psychic abilities (for being the nexus of all psionic energy), its cosmic flames that can't be snuffed out by a lack of air or in frozen temperatures, and destroying planets. That said, unlike its natural state of being, the cosmic firebird form is not without its limits, which results in it needing sustenance much like Galactus and can affected and manipulated by those with great capabilities. Because of it, and the craving for human emotion, the Phoenix searches for a host to wield and focus its power and give the Phoenix the perspective that includes having emotions more complicated than sadness, anger, confusion, and hunger.

M'Kraan Crystal and White Hot Room

The M'Kraan Crystal is a three story, well, crystal holding unimaginable power. This is due to the fact that it is a nexus of all realities and through it, one is told to gain unimaginable power. Still, it has also been called the "End of all that is" because when breached, the Neutron Galaxy held within the heart will be unleashed from the lattice Anti-Matter field and start pulling the universe in an event called "the Big Crunch". When the entire universe is pulled inside, the singularity will extend across other realities until the entire multiverse is consumed in the vortex filled with condensed matter and anti-matter, which in turn will explode outward as another Big Bang. The birth of a new multiverse, as what happened before in Earth-0.

Bios of the M'Kraan Crystal (Wolverine Encyclopedia #2; All-New Official Handbook of the Marvel Universe A-Z: Update #1)

The White Hot Room is a reality existing within the M'Kraan Crystal, where time is non-existent and space is full of infinite possibilities, located in the white city that was as endless as it was confining. This reality within the crystal is the main hub where all Phoenix Force hosts travel to of their own accord or go to after death, rather than becoming a resident of Death's realm since the Phoenix and its hosts can never truly die. In the room, Phoenix hosts go to do Phoenix work, whatever that may be. It has been referred to as the heart of the Phoenix, the heart of creation, the mind of the Phoenix, and a nexus for all Phoenix hosts. It is this area where the White Phoenix of the Crown resides as well as possibly uses to access any every universe in the multiverse. Jean has referred to being in the crown before, but what exactly the crown is unknown.

And finally, Jahf reveals the truth...the crystal has been retconned!!! Yup, now, the neutron galaxy, or 'sun' according to Jahf, is a nexus point between all matter and anti-matter. Like a doorway, the nexus connects to every reality, to all matter and anti-matter in the multiverse. It is necessary to always keep the door closed in every reality, or else, even with one door to a reality left open, the decimation will reach the other realities, one after the other. So, basically, Earth-0 back then wasn't just destroyed. The multiversal that used to exist around it was destroyed alongside it, with a new multiverse coming into being with the 616. Apparently, Jean Grey's influence is so far reaching that even as a teen, she could control the environment with only a sliver of a piece. (Jean Grey #11)

2. Jean Grey

As its most favorite host, Jean Grey is considered the most powerful Phoenix host to have existed, being unmatched by any host prior to her, nor will there ever be seemingly. As Green Phoenix, her powers are limited by psychic circuit breakers and Jean's own self-imposed limitations. It is for this reason why its considered the weakest. As Dark Phoenix, Jean's powers are left unhindered by anything except Jean's own humanity, making her a threat to all in the universe. As White Phoenix of the Crown, Jean and Phoenix bond are so united that they are considered one and the same being. By virtue of that, all powers of the Phoenix Force are hers to wield at their most powerful on a multiversal scale.

3. Rachel Summers

Daughter of Jean Grey, Rachel Anne Summers is the one who has hosted the Phoenix Force longer than any other host, including her own mother. In fact, unlike Jean, she never lost control and became Dark Phoenix, though she ha come close at times. Still, she has become living proof that the Phoenix isn't an entity entirely of destruction and can be a force of good. For her feats, visit the Rachel Summers Respect Thread, created by @koays. As Phoenix, Rachel is capable of all the things her mother can do on a similar scale up to Dark Phoenix.
