For me it has got to be Bawon Samedi. Loa of the Dead.
And then second Ogun the god of war.
Of course my culture adopted "Ogun" from Nigeria. Anyways list yours. :)

What culture would I be? I am a white American who has descendants from like 30 different European countries. If I am American culture would I be able to use the native American deities? If I am instead classified as European, would I be able to use nearly any European deity?

Use whatever you want bro.
As my bio says, Maya, Norse, and Aztec mythology and I don't got any real favorites tbh XD
Interesting.
Dont have any mythology in my culture.
Every culture has some form of folklore. Heck even Americans whether Black or White American.
@blessedbyhorus: NZ Europeons don't have any folklore or mythology, at least none that we were told of in school and none that anyone I know has ever heard of.
Norse: Baldur, Tyr, Bruunhilde, and Jormungandr. But I do enjoy God's and other Myth Creatures from various pantheons.
@iron_tiger: @blessedbyhorus: Click Here. You could say I'm partially obsessed. Haha.

New Zealanders are recent British descendants and so you can use folklore from that culture.

Whats your favorites? I like learning about different folklores from different cultures.
“From your culture” limits things quite a bit as a lot of people (especially Americans) lost our cultural identity and exchanged it in a wispy washy bowl of different culture. None of which you can call your own.

American Folklore has stuff like Paul Bunyan that I think is fun. Bigfoot, Chubacabra.
Chupacabra is not American, it originated from the Caribbean and from Central and South America, it was later incorporated into the southern part of the U.S, due to immigration.
Bigfoot is completely American, free from any foreign folklore influence, it's totally American.

Lost what cultural identity?
Do I get the right to borrow from the natives of my land or...?
Sure. Didn't say only ethnicity/race.
@andromeda101: Cultural appropriation. SMH
You could have used Japanese gods if you couldn’t think of anything Venezuelan.
@andromeda101: You're Brazilian? Nice. Beautiful country. I wanna visit.
Believe me...You don't. Just trust me on this.
Already have people who been to Brazil and said they loved it. And I already know about the violence there. Trust me I been to much scarier countries(I'm like the real Nathan Drake lol). And my country is WAY worse than Brazil...
If that's the case, I say these:
same
@lunacyde: My ancestors were Scottish only 2-3 generations ago.
@andromeda101: How dare you appropriate my culture? SMH
@lunacyde: My ancestors were Scottish only 2-3 generations ago.
I get what you're saying. You lost the cultural identity of your ancestors. I thought you were saying Americans lost their cultural identity.
Typically becoming American means losing a lot of the cultural identity from your heritage.
@johnsmjs36: Are you Indian?
@debunkdude: No. Nepali
@johnsmjs36: You are way closer to me than I thought(I live in UP If you know)
@debunkdude: Utter Pradesh
Again what do people mean that majority of Americans do not have folklore? Like I said many Americans do regardless of ethnic group. Some of you are looking in the wrong places(urban areas for example). Even Black Americans have folklore i.e the crossroad myth and Hoodoo. White Americans especially rural White Americans(like Black Americans) also have strong folkculture.
I'm pretty fond of Artemis because I hate the thought of young girls getting raped in the forest & the goddess of the hunt would shut that shit down quick.
Hmm....Pecos Bill and John Henry.
Hell yeah!!! John Henry is the man!

If you say so, but it's not so much about violence these days(It's still one of the mains problems, though). I say the current political situation has been reflecting on people here and that so-called "warming welcoming" to outsiders is becoming very scarce.
Noted. Are you from Sao Paulo?

Do you mean the city or the state? Heh.
Just kidding, I'm from Curitiba(Paraná).
Ah so you're from the South. And yea I meant city. lol.

This is what I was going to say, but also add Paul Bunyan. I guess Johnny Appleseed should fit in there somewhere, too.
