Would you rather live in Wakanda or Asgard?

I mean...most Wakandans are notoriously xenophobic and condescending of other cultures, though arguably deservedly so. They were, after all, an isolationist nation for the longest time. I'm not entirely convinced that they treat outsiders all that great either; the White Wolf being a good example (Hunter, not Bucky Barnes). Then there's also all those tribal wars and civil strife that happen in Wakanda like every other issue of Black Panther. I feel like Wakanda would be a fun place to visit (Look! It's the Crystal Forest! Wow that's the Resurrection Temple! That's Warrior Falls!), but I'm not sure if I'd ever live there.

Asgard seems a little more promising initially. Golden castles and rainbow bridges and lots of beer. I guess it's cool if you get instant access to the Golden Applies of Idunn, though personally I don't think I'd really want an extended lifespan. But like someone else above mentioned, there's probably no Internet in Asgard. Or any form of technology. Everything's just medieval magic. I feel like the average Asgardian just lives the boring life of a peasant from the Middle Ages.

Yeah, I'm good with the ol' US of A for now.

Asgard for me. Gonna have to deal with outside threats sooner or later anyways.

They both have their issues, but I like technology and I find the nation of Wakanda more aesthetically pleasing. A regular person living in Asgard along with all manner of mythical beasts and invading forces every other day sounds awful.

Does Wakanda even let white people live there?

Wakandans are prejudice and Asgardians are stuck up. Asgard is always getting invaded by mystical threats and Wakanda is a dictatorship country with consistent civil wars.

@dernman: Wakanda doesn't let outsiders live in the country regardless of race. Though T'Challa has made exceptions like the Avengers and Spider-Man, I'm assuming this is a similar case.

@juiceboks: You're right and I knew that. I was just personalizing it when I was thinking about answering the question of where I would rather live and didn't think of it.

Though I did see some racist undertones coming from Wakanda before. Like when BP told Spider-Man not to take his mask off because they wouldn't appreciate a white person being the totem bearer for the spider god. Only one I cold remember off the top of my head.

I mean that would go against everything they've believed about Wakandan Gods and their totem bearers for centuries if not millenia. That's not so much racist as it is traditional.

The thing with Wakanda is that besides a couple of scenes where T'Challa was walking among a seemingly cheerful croud, we never really got to see how is the everyday life of the Wakandan people. That said, I do think it is safer to stay there considering the everything that has happened to Asgard over the years, I mean just what happened in Ragnarok shows how dangerous that place can be.

Odin said Jane did not belong in Asgard when she was there in TDW and straight up told Thor to go for Sif instead. Asgardians aren't welcoming either.

I am picking Wakanda for the simple fact that it is on Earth and has Internet and smart phones and whatnot. Also, I would be very out of place on Asgard since everyone is 10 times as strong as me and has been alive for thousands of years. Like how can I relate to any of that? Asgard also routinely gets attacked by creatures from other realms, it doesn't seem like a good place if you aren't a warrior.

@jayc1324 Never said they were, though at least Asgardians have the excuse of being near-immortal gods compared to us mere mortals. Most Wakandans just don't like other people.

Good point. Thought I can't say living like Bucky did is what most people want or expect when they think of 'living in Wakanda'.

Going with Asgard because it's closer culturally to what I am used to.
