Assuming this gives me true immortality, where I no longer need to eat, drink, breathe, sleep, and have a healing factor that makes me immune to pain, dismemberment, and diseases... yes, I will take that offer.
@theinsufferable: I cannot respond in there. Brits are 100% hooligans anyways, going crazy for football.
I would hate to live forever, I would watch all my family and friends die and then they're children, and they're children and it would never end it would be a fate worse than Death, everyone you care about would die and you would be at each funeral, life would be awful

No
I'd like to be longer living, but not immortal. Perhaps five-hundred to a thousand years or so. Possibly two-thousand if I find something to live that long for.
@mo_ali: Can't go wrong with lide.
@baldur_odinson: you know what I mean :)
As long as I don't age and immune to diseases yes.

Logically if you don't need to eat that means it would probably need to give up eating all together.
Who would want that. It's a joy in life to eat nice tasting things.

You would still have a working digestive system and taste buds. You just wouldn't require nutrition from food for your body to function, but you could still eat for pleasure.
Hell no. A lot of people go through depression in their short lives. If you lived forever, you'd go through it thousands of times. You could never stay with 1 person for too long. You'd become very cold towards others. It would be natural for all the death you'd see to your friends and family.
There is also the high chance of you being stranded in space drifting highly likely doing insane having no one to talk to for a couple of million years.

Yeah but the ability not to eat means you're getting what you need from food from somewhere else. Now combine those too sources you're over consuming.

Valid point. Though I would presume that, if you can gain weight as an immortal, you can lose the excess too, by not consuming food for a while. So it wouldn't really be a problem.

I don't see that because that would mean iff they never ate food they wouldd just continually lose weight until they're an empty husk.
I don’t understand why someone would want immortality
In order to be immortal.

If your body is functioning the way it should be, overconsuming shouldn't actually lead to weight gain.
Also, we've genetically programmed rats to maintain a specific fat/muscle ratio, regardless of their diet. So as long as they have enough are getting enough nutrients to maintain that, they will even if they don't exercise or over-eat.

We're talking about some supernatural force that can make someone completely immortal. The idea that it can also keep someone in peak condition isn't really that big of a stretch.
I just wanna see where the world goes...to watch as the universe ends, if it doesn't then just drifting through space forever doesn't sound so bad
@pandaemperoriv: even paradise would become boring after a while
