I just wanted to say this. Why does everyone think Ocarina of Time is the best Zelda game? Because in my opinion, It'd probably be Twilight Princess. Alright. That's all I wanted. Any thoughts?
Why Ocarina?
Because it is? :P No but seriously, I like all the ones I have played. But then again...I have a hard time rating anything I really like, so could only tell ya that I like all them equally. What annoys the heck outta me though, is that Link and Zelda never kissed at all...I mean ya sure they would only know eachother for a few hours(or perhaps days given game time) but even so the guy risks his life constantly to save her, or to save Hyrule, or to protect the Triforce...kinda nags at me.

I'm a Majora's Mask fan myself.
That entry is underrated in my opinion. Yeah, the time issue can be annoying but it's also kinda neat too. Not to mention how awesome transforming into a Goron, Zora, etc was, or the sheer addictiveness of obtaining masks, or how the game fleshed out the town and his denizens probably more than any other Zelda game.
OoT is indeed my favorite though. Lol
Wind Waker is one of the best. Twilight princess had good ideas and good stuff in it, but I felt it executed some of those good ideas badly.

everyone knows that the Legend of Zelda for SNES was the best Zelda game
This one is what I was to say...
I feel like, by saying this, I'm probably pissing off a lot of geeks. But I was never a big fan of the older original zelda games. Or ever OoT or MM. I like the newer ones. TP and SS. Although yea, @joeagentofhand1 I agree. I think they had a lot of great ideas that they could have done a lot better. It was also a really dark game, but I kinda liked that. Skyward Sword was a HUGE graphics/colors change. Haha. I also loved turning into a wolf all the time. And riding Epona was fun too.
@PrinceZiara: In my opinion it was a great game, but in terms of it being dark it was dark just in color and design. It never really seemed dark emotionally. Majora's Mask was darker for multiple reasons.
1. Go around places on the last day. You see the mailman in panic saying he can't leave because it is not on his schedule, the flying carpet guy from OoT is on the ground in fear, if you do the the side quest with Kafei(or whatever his name is) he and is soon to be wife are holding each other waiting for the end, and Cremia's scene is to dark for words to explain.
2. The masks that allow you to transform have the souls of dead people.
3 Skull Kid himself.
4. The theory behind the last dungeon.
5. The kids in Majora's moon realm quotes.
This is all my opinion though, I just personally felt MM was emtionally darker
Ocarina of Time was the first 3D game. It was extremely groundbreaking and had a lot of features never seen before.
I've actually found that people prefer Wind Waker and Majora's Mask.
I like Majora's Mask.
BTW Twilight Princess was really meh IMO.
twilight princess had best graphics but the game that defines links legacy and zeldas legacy and the past and future of hyrule, has been is and shail always be Ocarina of time. it has nothing to do with the "best" its that Ocorina of time defined links legacy.
I can't attest to much since I've only played the Nintendo and Super NES versions of Zelda (Zelda, Zelda II, and Zelda: A Link to the Past). And for me those three were awesome. So I can't really say why Ocarina is or should be considered the best, so I need to get playing :/

Ocarina is recognized as the best Zelda game because it brought Link into a fully accessible world and the game itself broke a lot of ground and innovated a lot things for its time
