Why is it despicable to hit a woman

Is there a specific reason why it is treated as a holy sin to put your hands on a girl?

Because men are usually larger/stronger than women.

Comes from the old stereotype that women are fragile and can't fight back.

Because they tend to be more weaker and fragile than the average man.

Because society has deemed women to "weak" to take a hit.

It shouldn't be. If you can find reason to hit a man, you can find reason to hit a woman. If someone does something to you that you deem worthy of physical retaliation, women shouldn't be excluded from that. When Chris Brown beat up Rihanna, everyone was saying he was a coward like he beat her up just because he knew she was weaker, that's just nonsense.

I don't recall the bible saying it is a sin to hit a girl however, putting your hands on a girl is terribly wrong!!!

Woman are alot more weak, fragile and can't fist fight as well as guys can. Thats why when I hug a girl, I hug them very gently.

Same reason you wouldn't hit a child or an animal, in most cases women can't fight back.

Its only reprehensible if you hit someone who can't fight back regardless of their gender.

Women are not as weak and defenseless as some of these posts suggest. It's only despicable to hit a woman because of double standards that lead people to believe that they are less durable than men. If anyone does anything worthy of being punched, regardless of their identified gender or lack thereof, by all means punch them.

Your right you shouldnt hit a child.

If you have a valid reason to hit them you can hit anyone regardless of size,creed,colour,religion,gender.origin or intellect if you have a good enough reason (ie self defense or in the best interest of another's life and the likes) you can hit anyone, children will likely be small enough to restrain without knocking there block off.

@ragdollpurps: Really though women are weaker then men. They are certainly not defencless but the average man is a lot stronger then the average woman. It isn't right.

Because, thankfully, many of us have the morals and the proper upbringing enough to know a despicable act when we see or read or hear about one. If someone does not understand how and why it is a despicable act then they surely lack in both of the aforementioned areas or are sociopathic to a lesser or greater extent.

Im getting offensive because you suggested that women are in the same league as small animals and children, believe it or not your gender is capable of competently defending itself and if you cant you can learn how. your first and second post both had highly sexist components thats why i was a little pissed off.

There are plenty women in the world that are stronger than many men, but they do not get nearly as much attention and therefore are largely unknown to most. Go back and look at your first post and then tell me it isnt sexist, you said you shouldnt hit women because they cant defend themselves, which is crap and your second post says usually women wont but that very same thing could be said for men so thats sexist too and the worst part was when you said that you cant be sexist because you are a woman.
