Mario and it isn't even close.

Master Chief and Kratos are very popular no doubt but they are legit nowhere near Mario levels of popular.

Yes Master Chief is absolutely famous and so is Kratos, but nothing really beats Mario as he has several games, movies, merchandise, clothes, and more to buy his games. Likewise Marios stuff is super international

Mario. The other two are far behind him, but I'd give John the edge over Kratos.

It's probably Mario. He has had a lot longer to build up his Popularity than Master Chief and Kratos and was a Well Known Character since the 1980's with the NES 8 Bit Era.

Mario for sure is the most famous of these characters. Mario has been around the longest for starters compared to the other two. Mario is also a mascot of one of the biggest game companies of all time, Nintendo, whereas the other two aren't mascots. Also, Mario games are popular with children and adults alike whereas Master Chief and Kratos are more geared towards adults. Mario has a wider fanbase because of all the ages Mario games cater for so Mario's popularity is more than the other two for that reason as well. Mario was one of the rescuers of Nintendo because he helped them become very famous after Donkey Kong (1981) when he was introduced as 'Jumpman' and the Super Mario Bros NES game in the 1980s was one of the best-selling games of all time and many game players from the 1980s will recognize Mario because of Super Mario Bros. Not as many people would recognize Master Chief and Kratos because those two haven't had as memorable games. Mario was also in a starring movie whereas Kratos was just a small character in the Wreck-It-Ralph movie. Pac-Man was once the most popular game and Pac-Man was the most famous game mascot (Namco) and then Mario came along and took Pac-Man off his throne.

kratos is playstations best title (maybe)

and master chief and kratos(master chief at least) is the mascot for the xbox and microsoft

and the ladder for playstation

Mario is the game equivalent to what mickey mouse is to cartoons.

Sonic is what bugs bunny is to cartoons too.

There is no comparison, maybe sonic, but those 2 you mentioned are not globally loved as much as Mario or Sonic for that matter.

Add sonic and pac-man and now we're talking.
