Murder is Murder.
I know that. I'm not trying to downplay any of them, I am just curious to what some of peoples opinions are on here.. I was talking with a friend about this and decided to ask the Vine.

Comes down the older civilization gets the more we should know better. So in all honesty the killing of jews to me is far worse. Just like if something like that would happen in the last 20 years it would be far worse then that and so on and so forth. At one point in time every county has had to step on someone to become the country they are. That is the unfortunate part of history.
Those who fail to learn the lessons of history are doomed to repeat them.
They were both monstrous, but I'm going with the Holocaust. The American genocide of Native Americans was mostly cultural, though often involving slaughter...The Nazis didn't want to convert the Jews, they tried to murder every last one.
How does one measure the horror of one genocide being worse than the other?
They were both genocides, it doesn't matter which one was worse, they were both horrible, why should we rate them on a scale?
@russellmania77 probably the best answer of all. Of all the genocidal actions in human history, the European slave trade is the most horrific to me.
Native American in my opinion. The Jews went on to thrive after all that, own nation, and came back strong. The Native Americans never fully recovered, now only have reservations, most of them are gone, and are poor.
Well one can say that many Jews were killed in such a short period of time and for no reason other than being the perfect scapegoats for Germany's financial woes. But one could also say that the Native Americans never fully recovered from what happened to them all because people wanted the land and would do anything to get it. Which only goes to show that both are horrific and putting one above the other does nothing to alleviate the pain and only serves to worsen it, if not create divisions within society by trying to rank a person's pain and suffering.

1 word:
Casinos
Equally bad.
Although I know more people affected by the Holocaust so that's the only reason i would say that's worse.
Which genocide was worse? I like how people are actually saying the near eradication of an entire country of people isn't as bad as another. You wonder why Warpath from X-Men is such a whiny b***h when it comes to Native Americans not getting respect? This is why. If I could cry, I'd probably cry for my half brothers and sisters.
Both are bad.
But at the end of the day, Americans are happy with the way it turned out for Native Americans.
Joseph Stalin did things worse than both of those combined but native Americans was worse out of those two in my opinion. Although the jews went through some crazy stuff too.
Also, some of you people need to calm down. He is just asking a question no need to get all offended.
Both are bad.

Which is disgusting. Native rights issues get at least some attention up here in Canada, but it seems like Native populations are treated like they don't even exist in the US.
@erik: What, all of them?
They're both bad, but I think the Native Americans got it worse. Yeah, 6,000,000 Jews were killed thanks to the prejudices of a tiny man, but a whole country of people were nearly wiped out due to greed. Jews still have representation to this day, and we recognize what happened to them. In a high school history class the slave trade and the Holocaust are two big sections of the class. But the genocide of this countries Native peoples? I think my class probably had a short answer quiz on it once smh.
Slightly leaning towards the natives. The Europeans pretty much wiped them out. Who knows what tortures they suffered in them meantime. The Jews didn't have it any easier but people came to their rescue. People were fighting for them.
@erik: Oh, so it was a joke. I see.
What relevance would there be in saying one is worse than the other? Is it some sort of competition or something?

No. Ah am just curious. Ah guess ah could see how people could misunderstand what ah am asking.. But eh.. As ah said before ah ain't trying to downplay either of them, they both were horrible..

Not misunderstanding. Just not sure if I see the relevance in comparing and saying which one is worse.
Hmmm... My immediate reaction was Jews because of places like Auschwitz, but then giving Indians blankets infected with smallpox is terrible as well, so I don't know
What most people tend to forget, is that Israel is the only developed country in the Middle East. That means A WHOOOOLE LOT. The Native People are like an endangered species in the U.S.A., located in select few places (Oklahoma, Arizona, North or South Dakota, New Mexico). Seeing a Native outside her "nature reserve" is a rare sight indeed. It seems that the remnants of the great Aztec empire, the Mexicans, are capitalizing on their relative absence... :)
@maccyd: What?!? No way, that can't be true because every Mexican person I see looks caramal and slightly oriental. I live in a village/town near Chicago, so a whole lot of mexicans, blacks, irish, and other minorities. There's this Mexican dude who sits at my lunch table who's pale...er than normal, and even he got slanted eyes.
I agree with the first comment. I treat everyone as equal, doesn't matter if Native Americans are being slaughtered or Jews are being slaughtered, murder is murder.
