Which movie is more iconic: The Wizard of Oz or The Godfather?
Honestly, nearly every single aspect of The Wizard of Oz is every bit as iconic, if not more so, than the most iconic aspects of The Godfather. The child friendly nature of Oz helps a lot.
Lord of the Rings slaps both
The LOTRs are in my top 10 movies and top 10 books but Oz is way more iconic. Though wizard of oz is also in my top 10
WoZ, i first saw it when i was little on TV, and it had a larger lasting impact then from what i heard of The Godfather
@cocacolaman: Yeah, too bad the cast and crew of Oz were full of perverts who harassed Judy Garland, not to mention the studio forced her to be malnourished and to do drugs to stay thin, very dark and heavy secrets behind the production of something so "child friendly". I can never watch that movie again now that I've learned this, it won't be the same.
Oz stomps.
Been around longer, more people have actually seen it (and not just heard of it, as is often the case with the Godfather), and it has so much more instantly iconic stuff in it.

tbh I look at it like Disney movies. Sure, they did (and do) some messed up stuff but it still doesn't effect me too much. I suppose nostalgia is a big part of it.
Great question. I think cocacolaman was right in the child friendliness giving Wizard of Oz the edge.

I can watch old stuff but just don't want to support new stuff coming out. That Mulan situation with Disney is a joke.
There's so much garbage in Hollywood, which is why these actors and actresses are a joke preaching morality to everybody, when their morality isn't grounded in anything outside of their vanity, and acting like they're our betters when they perpetuate and contribute to garbage.
Also,
@infantfinite128: The only Hollywood actors that are legit good are Keanu Reeves and Hugh Jackman, the rest maintain a standardised image demanded by the higher-ups.
