None of these options. The hardest thing to play is insane and weirdo without looking like an idiot.

@payneintheass: Yeah it's really hard to deliver lines in a sad or angry manner because you might overact it

From my theater days, I found it almost impossible to convincingly pull off sad.

I agree with this. The others you can fill in with your own experiences. Genuine mental illness is tough to portray without going campy.

Probably sadness. Some people either hit it or miss it.

Insanity isn't really an emotion though...

Tender, because the other emotions are experienced regularly by pretty much everyone. So they're easier to recall and superimpose when acting.

@bumpyboo: Hey though! What did you think of Robin Williams in Final Cut, One Hour Photo & Insomnia? Although Robin Williams was legitimately mental so he didn't really have to pretend.

I would think crying on cue, take after take, would be very difficult.

He wasn't a psychopath...different kind of mental.

IMO, everybody can act angry and happy, but I'm almost always impressed when someone pulls off, fear (kind of like Black Widow, when Loki threatened her in the first Avengers movie).

I think fear because it's the most primal emotion.

I think fear is hard to act but easy to portray. Like, camera work and music/SFX can convey discomfort an make it easier on the actor.
