I'm English, and I voted for Canada. Everything I would once have loved about my country is dead or dying. I hope to one day emigrate.
Never been to either one but know plenty of people who have been to both, Canada seems very nice.
Never much liked the cold though.
I would pick Canada because it is so close with all its major cities that I would not miss anything.
I like hockey so that is a plus.

There are some warm places here or places where winter isn't bad
@misterwhisper:I dunno try someplaces in british colombia like victoria or something
and you call that cold? in canada that's warm.
Based on my superficial understanding of Britain:
It seems too crowded, cramped and small. It also probably has more restrictive freedoms, and if you say something that goes against the norm, people will lose their minds and go apeshit.
Canada gets my vote.
As an Englishman I also voted for Canada. Brexit was really disappointing and May is looking worse and worse each day. Meanwhile Canada has a lovely reputation but I guess I don't know much about the politics there.
Canada is being run by someone probably more unqualified than Trump.
Justin Trudeau's experience includes being a substitute drama teacher and a part-time ski instructor.
The only reason he won is because his daddy was prime minister and that people were tired of Stephen Harper, who had been prime minister for around 10 years.
Widely considered to be a clueless idiot.
@mysticmedivh: according to a study Canada and Britain are actually tied for sixth with Australia for the freest countries in the world
btw who do you think was better harper or trudeau
Yeah, I'm aware they're one of the most "free", but I don't really consider them to be that free.
Germany or Sweden are probably ranked more free than say the US, but I don't believe that is the case.
@mysticmedivh: isn't he some guy from tv on dragon's den? i heard he was a business man.
I picked Canada because Putin is going to nuke the UK and the US. No one cares about Canada though. A fly on the wall.
I don't base which country I would move to by the leader....I mean we vote every so often so it's not that big a deal in my mind as some people make it...anywho I would take the UK. You can hope on a train and go visit a bunch of other countries...
Not that Canada sounds bad...but having easy access to Europe is a big deal...I mean in Canada you just what have easy access to America? Meh....
Canada. While the American in me will always have a sense of loyalty to the old Mother Country, Canada just has too much going for it.
Better cost of living.
Less crowded.
Soooo much diversity of environments.
England has some of the diversity in environment too, plus easy access to the rest of Europe...however that currently has its own issues as well.
@mysticmedivh: i am just personally i'm not really big on politics it's why i'm so passive on trudeau as long as it doesn't harm the environment i don't really notice much
The kevin o leary guy saw him on tv before he was funny didn't know that was his name before know.
now that you mention it i do remember seeing him on ctv or global or whatever that he was going to try to become PM don't know what party he's for
He's a businessman/TV show guy like Trump, not a politician.
Before his announcement you could often find him talking on CBC or on his Shark Tank and Dragon's Den shows.
@mysticmedivh: why would you vote for him?
Because he's like Trump
No political experience, goofs around, has a TV show, has the tough guy businessman attitude, etc.

Kinda sounds like you care more about entertainment than the effective governing of a country.
Maybe hold off voting for other "Trumps" until the one currently in proves he's viable as a leader.

If I had to pick between a monkey and a normal political candidate to run the country, I'd pick the monkey every single time.

haha fair enough.
@mysticmedivh: Is there any chance he'll keep his head down and not do much?
I was thinking of moving to England in like 3 years and study there. I might have to reconsider because of England's current state...

Have you seen Trump?
@erik_soong: Fair point.
Brevity made me vote for the uk (hopefully its proof they're turning their country around.) That and I would be extremely angry if I had to be under Canada's prime minister...
@jaycool2: @mysticmedivh:how is canada
@thenewguysnm1: I like it. It isn't perfect (no country is), but its home.
