Where Did the Geists Come From?

Also I am going to temporary hijack this thread to explain something to all posters. Its extremely easy for moderators to know which accounts come from the same IP. Most of the time we let it slide when we see some people interact and even vote for themselves in threads, it can be strange but as long as no one is breaking actual CV rules thats fine. Other posters who don't have Geist accounts might be surprised to learn that most of the Geist accounts are held by various regular CV users rather than one or two sole posters who hold them all. Lastly if you do have a Geist account, remember than some other users in a sense may implicate you with their actions in the sense you all don't know what the others are up to all the time. Some very innocent and good users at this site were threatened and put out by the actions of a Geist, so for many having lots of them pop up not only is unoriginal but tiresome. As earlier said since its easy to sift out who is who so no one would get in trouble if they didn't deserve it but its worth bearing in mind.

What? Who did we honestly "threaten". The Geists are the ones being threatened.

Alright almost all the Geists have alt accounts but not all the Geists alt accounts are the same person. Poster ABC might have a Geist account and Poster BBQ might have another Geist account. All posters at CV have certain rights, that includes alt accounts, as long as they do not abuse or break rules, hence users with alt accounts (all alt accounts and not just Geist alt accounts) can be afforded certain privileges like relative anonymity. That also being said they aren't all the same person, but they all probably each have alt accounts.

Also no more hostility in this thread as far as other posters okay, I don't want to have to lock this thread and or give out warnings.

No bother, no worries. That being just like I explained posters are afforded certain rights as far alt accounts same extends to incidents involving other posters. So you may not have but unfortunately when other posters can't see the IP's it can lead to situations where all of you run the risk of behavior being shared amongst you even if you didn't do anything.
