If you're not familiar with which movies are Best Picture winners, here are some examples you've probably seen.

Looking at a list of winners, I can say there's been a lot of mistakes over the years.

Favorite: Rocky

Runners Up: Gladiator, Silence of the Lambs, LotR: RotK

The Godfather - Part II. What a hell of a movie. It's a shame that this masterpiece is obscured by its (also excellent) predecessor.

It Happened One Night and Annie Hall for me though. Also Ben-Hur.

I also love The Godfather movies and the LOTR movies. I love most Best Picture winning movies but I can say that most of the winners were wrong like Rocky over Taxi Driver, Gandhi over E.T, How Green Was My Valley over Citizen Kane and The French Connection over A Clockwork Orange etc.

I always take L's, my favorite movies rarely get picked every year.

Favorite: As a Philadelphian, Rocky is more than a movie.

Casablanca is my favorite, but I believe Lawrence of Arabia to be among the greatest films ever made. My Top 5 would be:

  1. Casablanca (1942)
  2. Lawrence of Arabia (1962)
  3. The Sound of Music (1965)
  4. It Happened One Night (1934)
  5. Annie Hall (1977)
