@tvc-15: what drama did I miss?
Nothing, I'm just making a David Bowie reference with my old username.
Was watching the first Spider-Man film when I come across this line:
"That's a cute outfit, did your fudge-packing POZed up boyfriend give it to you?"
Wow Raimi, that's taking it too far.
Westbrook apologist are laughable.
Westbrook has been shooting his team out of games for years now, even when he had the most talented scorer/second best player on the planet in KD on his team.
"I want to be with someone who knows me better than anyone else."
*Remembers a previous conversation where she said she told me more about herself than she's told anyone else*
Nice try ya crazy bitch, but you can miss me with that shit
@stormdriven: Chicks are crazy.
That they did. How many times do we need to hear Drax break out in laughter? How many times do we need to hear Rocket being called someone he isn't? I still laughed a lot, but they should've toned it down.
So anyway, as I was saying. The humour in Guardians of the Galaxy 2 was operating on Michael Bay levels, in that serious moments were taken away and turned into a joke for the sake of advancing the plot. Mantis for example. She was in charge of restraining Quill's father, but when the ship everyone was on crash landed and the team dropped down for their dramatic entrance, Mantis was hit with a piece of debris therefore allowing Quill's father to escape. That was turned into a laughable matter for no reason. Also when Peter and his father launched at each other. Peter's dad transformed himself into a giant rock entity whereas Peter transformed into Pac Man? I didn't know whether to take the film seriously.
But yes, Drax's constant laughing became obnoxious. Also, Groot was pretty damn useless, other than making the hot girls in the theatre go "Awww he's so cute".
Best parts of the film:
Yondu... and his relationship with Rocket and Quill.
Gamora and Nebula's resolution with each other.
I agree 100%. Marvel has a tendency to do that. I don't know if it was just me that was irked by this, but I hated the bizarre decision to play this song during what should be an emotional conflict (Peter fighting his own father for killing his mother and destroying his walkman).
You can argue Baby Groot helped by breaking Yondu/Rocket our of prison.
@theamazingspidey: That song is about failing relationships and the turmoil they cause. Seems appropriate for what you described in the spoiler blocks. Whether or not it actually works in the movie is another thing.

If that's the case, then that makes more sense. Lyrics check out.

I liked that song, but agree that it was misused in that particular scene.
Yes Groot helped... as much as the dead men floating in space during that scene. Lmao.
