I'm talking about, like, from your first memories until around six
what about you guys?
@v_scarlotte_rose: I guess from whenever you can first remember to around six is what I mean
@betatesthighlander1: That works then. I'm sure I know that book from before I started primary school.
@deranged_midget: I mean, like, from your first memory to around six
sorry if that wasn't clear earlier
@betatesthighlander1: Hah, I have no idea then.
@deranged_midget: really? nothing? did your guardians read to you?
There you go! Now I remember that!
really? nothing? did your guardians read to you?
Everything was in Serbian until I started kindergarten. ;)
@deranged_midget: that was a good one
also, your Serbian?
@betatesthighlander1: Yes sir! Born in Serbia, moved to Canada at eight months of age and didn't learn a lick of English (besides some television) until I started school!
I don't know if it was my absolute favourite, or how little you mean, but this comes to mind:
=D I remember reading this and Where The Wild Things Are as a kid.
I have a lot of favorite books when I was little, but probably my most favorite book I read when I was little and still read now is:
@powerherc: good answer
@betatesthighlander1: Thanks!
@lykopis: I love Madeline! I think there was a cartoon of it as well? =O
omg -- YES! I love it! There were so many appearances, even from way back when, lol. I love Pepito. :P

=D I saw one of the cartoons in elementary in school I believe. It looked so cute the art style. ^__^
yeah, it was pretty cool
were there any books your guardians read to you (did they read you comics?)
No, my parents didn't read comics to me, but I did manage to talk my older sister into reading them to me before I could do it myself.
Adorable, huh? Lol!
Not exactly what I was going for but that's cool anyway!
It has always been my favorite, and if I had kids I'd read it to them , I;m glad your sister got to enjoy it
@powerherc: you were...you were just a little kid, you didn't know how to read yet, but you wanted to read comics so you had your big sister do it
how is that not adorable?
@referee: yes, the quiet passing of basic knowledge and ideals found in children's books is pretty sweet
Hey, I'm not saying it wasn't, I'm just saying I never intended it to be.
@betatesthighlander1: Agreed,
What I remember most about the book was when my father read it to me he would pretend to have trouble turning the pages, after Grover would tie them up or whatever. Ah childhood
so,metimes when my dad would read The Horse in Harry's Room he'd purposely mix up the words "horse" and "Harry"
Ha Ha, he sounds like a great Father,
@referee: so does yours
To Fathers
@referee: To fathers
Oh man. I don't even remember...considering I learned the alphabet at 5 (it seems these days kids already have rudimentary reading and writing skills before Kindergarten, but we did not back then). I have no clue what my favorite was, but the things that stick out in my mind, in no particular order, are Goodnight, Moon, Paddington Bear, Peter Rabbit, and absolutely anything related to Winnie the Pooh.
@lykopis: I love Madeline! I think there was a cartoon of it as well? =O
We love our bread, we love our butter, but most of all, we love each other.
