What is the saddest song you've ever heard?

IMHO.... "Hurt" by Johnny Cash (I don't care for NiN) is the saddest, especially with the music video. You can see his whole life and career flashing by and when you watch it now, you know the end is so close for him that its just... Well, depressing.

So, what is the saddest song you have ever heard? Or the saddest music video you have seen?

I have a few...but I'll do my top three:

"Hurt" by Christina Aguilera, mostly cause I relate to her losing her father (mine's not dead, but he's not in my life any longer)

"Remembering Sunday" Losing one's love and never finding them again can leave scars

"Ghost of You" by My Chemical Romance, They're my favorite band, and this song to me,coupled with the music video, is their most touching.

I was going to say Johny Cash's cover of Hurt, but since the op already said it, I'll say "Mother" by John Lennon

The reason I find it sad because of how eerily similar his childhood was to mine and I can relate to it.

Yeah, I first watched that video probably when I was around your age. So 4-ish years ago give or take. It was just so haunting because he did that song and then died almost friggin' immediately after. Shows you a man who was incredibly dissatisfied with his life and legacy, and just wanted it all to be over. Incredibly moving. I'll post it since you're probably on mobile:

One more song I like is "Early Sunsets over Monroeville" by MCR they called it a "Sweet song about Dawn of the Dead" it basically tells the story of a man having to kill his wife who was bitten by a zombie.

Yup. It's actually the very first song I heard from the band, made me instantly check out more of their stuff, which is more, poppy, this is their saddest song imo.

For sure. So serene and haunting. It's truly depressing, yet incredibly beautiful.

On a less depressing note, the album that song is from has a HI-LARIOUS title.

Saddest song in what sense? If by sad you mean you actually feel something then Tired of Running by Akon.

Oh, well, I forgot to mention that I'm following a treatment based on specific remedies for some time now. I'm waaaay better from the first diagnosis. Still have a long way to ride though. You know, we got to deal with it for the rest of our lives..
