I see a lot of people giving them the Bieber treatment, and I don't get it. Granted the only song I really know of theirs is "What Makes You Beautiful", but that song is awesome and if I sing I will probably get more women that a mixed dude with a hipster hat and a ukelele.
What is so bad about One Direction?
They only get attention because they're pretty boys with accents. They are nothing special, and aren't saying anything someone else has already said.
Their lyrics sound like stuff you'd see on tumblr pics, and FB statuses.
I respect other peoples opinions but...they've ruined songs by doing bad covers and there own ones lack emotional meaning and soul, they couldn't get famous the hard way, they're not that original, they haven't got an "edge" to them, their fan base would massively decline if they weren't young and pretty, no lyric has made me think "that's cool" and it shouldn't take this many people to make such a dreary album:

But the main reason is that I just don't like them. They could get away with being nice on the eye or having so much help if I liked them but I don't. Still, it's not a bad thing to like them.
Everything
Nothings wrong with them, they make a product that isn't aimed at me and the people that it's aimed at seem to enjoy it.
This is the stance you should take unless you are generally critiquing there abilities but in most cases of hate that's not the case, same deal with the Twilight books.
They have there thing, we have ours.
@legacy6364: Ha! I thought, though, that the only direction they could go was down... y'know, purity rings and all...
Their music lacks depth and meaning. I know some people are into that kind of thing (and hell, it's not like I'm above listening to meaningless music) but personally I find it really hard to respect a group that makes a living off of churning out vapid bubblegum pop (I'm not sure if I used that term correctly...).
Just my two cents.

IT'S MUSIC NOT TARGETED AT MY GENERATION AND I AM ANGRY THAT I FINALLY REALIZED THAT AND THAT I'M GETTING OLDER!
My niece loves it. It's fun and the music didn't make me die. However, I'd still rather listen to QOTSA

Quality over quantity, dude. Granted, hipster music can be pretty awful too.
I dont mind them. Not my style but if they were playing kn the radio I wouldnt be like "ugh this is the worst thing turn it off"
The industry is whats bad about them, their music isnt bad

One of the guys from One Direction went to my school --- my younger brother was in his year. The members do genuinely love music, they're just been crafted into fakes.
They aren't my cup of tea but I'm not going to get up in arms about it.
What do you listen to?

What do you listen to?
It can vary. Right now, lots of Kendrick Lamar.
To quote Eminem:
"I'm sick of you little girl and boy groups, all you do is annoy me"
@gjgp27: I actually had an opinion to express and didn't really feel like correcting you.
Masterjohn thought they where cool
/thread.

*leaps into anti-homo bunker*
(I'll check him out)
@i_like_swords @laflux Who doesn't like Chance?
I think he's great but I think 10 days is his best mixtape. However, I don't 4.20 (at least not anymore), and apperently Acid Rap is awesome when your on something.

Foo Fighters and The Offspring mainly, and I dabble in Green Day.
