What if Tropic Thunder(2008) were released today?
It'll still be unfunny
You didn't like it?It's easily one of the funniest movies i have seen,along with Borat and There's Something About Mary.To answer the question, you would probabaly have a lot of angry people.TT is one of the most un-PC movies i have seen.
it still would be funny.
The politically correct and sjw would be outraged over RDJ.
so gender is fluid but race can not be?
@boschepg: ...WHAT LOL
your sjw comment. they commonly say gender is fluid
I'd like to think that people would still be able to comprehend that it was an outrageous comedy and not shun it or whatever. I guess the reason why this is being asked is because of RDJ's role? RDJ wasn't in black face or asian face or whatever people think the controversial thing is. A quote from his character sums it up.
Kirk Lazarus: I know who I am. I'm the dude playin' the dude, disguised as another dude!
You see RDJ was the dude playing the dude who was the dude playing the dude, disguised as another dude. And the reason or part of the reason to why they did this with Kirk Lazarus was to make fun of method actors and Hollywood as a whole. I mean that's the whole gist of the movie, to make fun of Hollywood.

They alredy were back then. The only difference would be RDJ wouldn't even get an Oscar nomination.

I would be deemed offensive.
I thought it was funny when it came out, and I still think it is, even though RDJ is in Blackface..
Oh where do i start? ...The media would try to annihilate RDJs career back into the stone age.
This is the age of getting angry at falsely implied bigotry, a film like Tropic Thunder would get torn apart front to back.
@buckwheat: A lot of times actors do movies for less if they really like the script and the director/cast. At this point I'm sure he needs the money a lot less than he did back then.
It'd probably be the same and would probably not resort to being censored due to backlash more than back then to a potential degree.
People on twitter and other SJWs would say that RDJ was doing blackface and would want him fired and ask for an apology.
