Van Helsing Remake
Hellboy director? cool....
I was like...14? when Van Helsing came out, and to me it was AMAZING! looking back obviously it's a cheesey, action flick... but it Del Torro makes one i like now, ill be happy :D
I liked the film thought the actors, locations & action was spot on.So im looking forward to the next episode :-)
I thought it was excellent, the actors were chosen for the right roles, the action was great, and the story kept you hooked.
It was ok. If it's the Hellboy, The Orphanage, and Pan's Labrynth director then how can you go wrong???
" @King Saturn said:heh... thats something"they are remaking it already "Yeah caused 04 flick was so bad. "
"I thought it was excellent, the actors were chosen for the right roles, the action was great, and the story kept you hooked. "
Actors were not chosen forf the right roles. Hugh Jackman as Van Helsing NO!!!!! Was like him to Wolverine NO!!!!! The story kept you hooked? How? What story did it even have? Action great? Lol the action was crap.
@Mr Smith..So wot actors would u have choosen? Hugh played the part to a T imo it was flawless. So u trying to say there was no story line? did u hear wot the Cardinal had to say to Van Helsing & y he sent him to Romania? The film was full of plots..
" its not confirmed but if they are THIS IS AWESOME THE ORIGINAL WAS AWESOME DEL TORRO IS AWESOME "Agreed :-)

The movie was ass and thats final. If it was so good would of gotten a sequel.
" @Chaos Prime said:But your points regarding why it was an ass are not valid.Just be honest & admit why u didnt like the film instead of making out it was due to the cast & the storyline."@Mr Smith..So wot actors would u have choosen? When I saw the 04 Van Helsing I was 14, it blew my mind, now, not so much, but if Guillermo remakes it you know its gonna be a good movie but I still wish he'd get started on Hellboy 3 instead of anything else.

I did make a real reason oxy moron.
@Mr. Smith. The following is your statement....
Actors were not chosen forf the right roles. Hugh Jackman as Van Helsing NO!!!!! Was like him to Wolverine NO!!!!! The story kept you hooked? How? What story did it even have? Action great? Lol the action was crap.
So this is your real reason? Lol u are a funny guy..
" @Chaos Prime: Actually, film critics cite casting and storyline as their reasons why a film is good quite frequently. Besides, it's subjective. I personally couldn't watch the film for more than about 12 minutes because it was really boring, and the opening was black and white for no reason. Also, the film received an animated sequel (that was actually a prequel if I recall correctly). "
Exactly. Chaos PRime get ya fatcs straight....lol your funny one.
@mimschkin.U have to agree tho having only watched 12 minutes of a film u cant give a valid review?
The movie started in B&W to give the feel of the original B&W horror movies which imo was a nice touch..
Once again my main argument is that the casting for this film was spot on..
The only good parts of Van Helsing were the following:
Hugh Jackman Shirtless
That sexy werewolf who was half naked during most of the film
The monk's occassional one-liners
THE BRIDES MADE THE FILM!!!!!!!!!!! Dracula was flamboyantly gay (which made it hard for me to believe that he was acutally doin it to 3 beautiful women) and wasn't even a real threat. And when Van Helsing morphed into a werewolf, there was no fight. It was Wolverine's bones becoming adamantium all over again.

No it was not! Hugh Jackman was too soft as Van Helsing, Kate Beckinsale was just there to look sexy and Richard Roxbourough was god awful as Dracula. The acting was not spot on it was bad, Also it was no nice touch for the universal monsters since they fucked them up. They turned the Frankenstein monster into a good guy and Wolfman was pathetic.
@Mr. Smiths: Chill, just because someone disagrees with you doesn't make their opinion wrong.
" @Chaos Prime: Yeah I definitely wasn't attempting to make a review out of it or anything. And I thought you were the one who was saying that the acting and storyline was poor, because apparently, I can't read :P apologies.
@Mr. Smiths: Chill, just because someone disagrees with you doesn't make their opinion wrong. "
Did not say there opinion was wrong, just defending my statement.
"Alls good Mr Smith :-) bye the way are u a horror film fan?"
Yes I'm a horror fan? Why?
" @Chaos Prime said:Your views on a good horror film u seen with a decent cast & story-line?"Alls good Mr Smith :-) bye the way are u a horror film fan?"Yes I'm a horror fan? Why? "
Hmmm.....I'd say Hugh Jackman was OK....they probably could've found someone better. Beckinsale wasn't that awesome (far better in Underworld), and Dracula sucked (haha funny statement...lol). He just wasn't scarey enough. And yes, the Brides were very cool (in fact, I use a couple pics of them).
I didn't like the ending about him being Gabriel. That was stupid, unnecessary, unexplained....ugh! It made no sense! Couldn't they have just kept the original Dracula-Van Helsing story line?
But now that Del Torro's directing it, I'd say that the movie definatly has hope. He's a really cool director with great vision. I love the Hellboy films and Pan's Labyrinth (awesome!).
The original Van Helsing was one of those great over-the-top, cheesy action movies that comes out once in a while that's kinda like Commando.
Del Toro is a great director and I don't think I've seen a really bad film by him (though, Blade 2 was kinda meh) so with him helming a remake, there's a chance of it actually being genuinely....good.
Cool! Del Toro should do a great job, hopefully they make this version entertaining to more than just pre teens.
