There are many men who cannot separate ambition from greed. It is human nature to want more; it is another thing entirely to want it all. These men would have the world if they could, and when the world simply isn't enough, they would use any combination of vast intellect and guile, deep resources, flexible morals, and underlings who respect (or fear) them enough to do their bidding, in order to achieve loftier goals. They would seek to become gods...so what happens when gods become greedy?
After all that transpired between the Incursions, Secret Wars, etc. the Marvel multiverse was in ruins. But there was another unforeseen consequence. Something that even The-One-Above-All never anticipated...a small rip in reality appeared, and TOAA bore witness to a SEPARATE MULTIVERSE. For the first time, The-One-Above-All's omniscience had a limit. This impossibility had somehow come to fruition the moment TOAA perceived the "window" to this separate multiverse. This flaw within The Flawless One could be felt by every cosmic and abstract entity within the Marvel multiverse. However, in the very instant TOAA noticed this "window", a plan was formed and acted upon.
Reed Richards and his family had been working to repair the multiverse. Why not end their endless reconstruction by simply pulling this new multiverse into the current one? But the God of this new multiverse, the Capcom multiverse, would not allow his Creation to be taken so easily, and as the immeasurable power from two truly omnipotent forces clashed, there was an adverse effect...
Temporal and existential anomalies were created, and roughly 100 beings from throughout the Marvel and Capcom mutliverses awoke on a strange, desolate, planet--Earth-3145. Most of them didn't know each other, yet for most, there was an unconscious camaraderie between those from the same multiverse. An armored man with an emerald cloak stepped forward, demanding answers. He was met by a blonde man brandishing a gun, who warned all on the opposing side to keep their distance. Before he could so much as lift his arm, his gun was crumpled in his hand. With tensions high and aggression seemingly heightened by the actions of the two Supreme Beings, the two sides prepared to face off. A man raised his star spangled shield, and a warrior took his fighting stance; two mutants released their claws, as twin demons drew their swords; a man with a manic mind and weapons of steel stood across one with all the poise of a ninja; a woman worshiped as a goddess commanded lightning, while an actual goddess howled in preparation for battle; and a powerful sorcerer drew energy, as the would-be Queen of Makai gathered her own.
In the background, beings who considered themselves above such conflict merely watched, concerned only with their own objectives.
These are the events of...
MARVEL VS. CAPCOM
