Turkey has officially invaded Syria

Turkey Prime-Minister Erdorgan has sent armed forces towards Syrian with the effort to depose President Bashar al-Assad, whom he accused to "terrorism". What sort of problem will this cause with Russia now?

Damn is there any military left that isn't operating in Syria?..I mean it's a post apocalyptic wasteland at this point..And a complete failed state...Also Turkey invading Syria will further strain and complicate the already immensely strained relations between Itself and Russia..

btw... This article, and the main headline therein, refers to the Turkish Euprates Shield from last AUGUST that has been ongoing...this is NOT a NEW thing. The only new thing is that there were several air strikes on some ISIL compounds that resulted in 11 ISIL fighters killed. Turkey has not invaded Syria...any further than it did in August anyway.

The Middle East just got even more f**ked up.

The only thing that could be an issue here is Russia invading Syria over this. Even then the west shouldn't have to do anything unless another world power jumps in. It would be best if nobody did

I was wondering why I havent read anything about Turkey invading Syria, since if there was in fact a full scale invasion it'd be huge news. Thanks for clarifying this.

Heh... that was exactly what I did when I saw this thread. CNN, Reuters, BBC... nothing. Google search... nothing except RT and a couple of other sites I never heard of parroting them.

I don't really pay much attention to politics in other countries. Probably sucks for the people who live there.

Turkey invades Syria and then what? Escalates with Russia? Creates an every bigger shitstorm in the Middle East?

Even if they manage to topple Assad, then what? We already saw how toppling Saddam and Gaddafi did. Once the dictator is taken out, all hell breaks loose and terrorist groups and warring factions pop up so they can fill the position.

Best thing is to keep Middle Eastern dictators. They may be brutal, and may violate human rights, but at least the country will be relatively stable and peaceful.

I'm not sure just what invasion article - and first source was something like hurriyetdailynews, iirc - is speaking about. Euprates Shield, perhaps? Either way, i'd wait for reaction of governments on this before doint any conclusions.

Anyone else find it a bit strange how msm in the us and even sites like bbc are completely ignoring this story? I guess they are too busy saying how fake alt right news is to bother reporting things like Turkey invading another sovereign nation for the express purpose of deposing its ruler. Particularly one that is already being defended by Russia's military to some degree. I will be honest though, I don't actually find it strange how selective our media is with what they report because they've been doing this for years and years. Its the alt media that is our enemy though with all of its 'fake news'.
