For 18 years I was certain I couldn't get into rap/hip hop. I counted it as one of only two big genres I disliked (the other being heavy metal). Then I started getting lifts to college with a mate who'd crank his stereo up to 100 and blast out Biggie, Kanye, Drake and Kendrick. As it turned out I grew to like the genre very quickly.
