Well, as noted by pixelized, it casts doubt on a child's grade, and ergo whether or not they should be able to move forward with the rest of their classmates.
Note to mention the power dynamic in such a situation is not conducive to an equal relationship, to say the least. Even less so than a boss/employee situation because one of the partners is a kid.
I got no truck with adult (over 18) student having affair with a professor, so long as they have never been and will never be in a class that professor teaches because that will cast a shadow on their entire academic career. It will get back to the department head and no one forgets "I gave my prof a B.J. for an A". They even looked disapprovingly on a grad student T.A. sleeping with one of his students and still make comments about it, years later, despite the fact they married and had a kid.
But kids under 18 sleeping with their teacher, no way. That is just wrong on so many levels.
