I get why you bring up the other things, but is this really evil? That seems a bit harsh.
Well you stomp on ants all the time......do you even care?It is the same with Greek gods, we where just inferior to their eyes. As for the weird elements,well lets say that ancient greeks where disturbing people.

If you study the religious structure of Greece, it makes sense that they weren't all angels. They were to be APPEASED so shit like that didn't happen to you, a tiny insignificant piece of gum on their sandals. Though I will say they were assholes. And it wasn't just the gods, the heroes too. Achilles was a rapist and possibly child molester, Theseus and his best buddy tried to kidnap a goddess to rape her (they got their asses handed to them, literally. Theseus had no butt by the time he died). Odysseus constantly cheated on his wife who waited faithfully for him for not 1, not 10 but 20 years. TWENTY. Don't even get me started on Heracles. Perseus was really the only one worth anything.
You can say that about any "God". The Abrahamic "God"(Jews, Christians, Muslims) ordered mass genocides, murders, human sacrifices, and even punished the faithful for no other reason but to prove a point to its rival. That sounds pretty evil. The Norse gods murdered their own and were known to rape humans. Same goes with Hindu gods, Roman gods, etc

@akindoodle: Yea he was testing whether he could ruin his life and have Job still worship him to settle a bet. He killed his family and took everything away from him and would have damned him to hell for all eternity if Job happened to completely justifiably think God was cruel for a second.

yeah my bad. i just got done watching Clash of The Titans where they said it was Aphrodite and Medusa was seduced. we just cant seem to get it right these days.
The point of the Greek Gods were that they were super-human in every way. Not only were they super-strong and very powerful but they were also super-vindictive, super-petty and super-selfish. Part of it was supposed to show flaws taken to the maximum.

she had the absolute most loving, gentle and loyal husband there is and she cheated on him hundreds of times without remorse. that is evil.
@joewell: Zeus did force her to marry to avoid the male gods going to war over her. Basically Hephaestus just happened to be there when he made the decree.
