1. They are both 90's era slapstick cartoons broadcasted on big cartoon channels that utilize cartoonish acts of violence as their primary sense of humor.
2. Somewhat similar art styles. Both shows' art styles feature characters with large mouths and big teeth, mid-sized eyes and bodies that are usually around the same size and/or slightly smaller than the size of their heads. There are obvious differences. Ren and Stimpy's art style is essentially a twisted and "uglier" version of Tex Avery or the Fleischer brothers' art style while Ed, Edd n Eddy's style seems to be its own thing -- like the boiling lines for example.
3. Some similar characters. Ren and Sarah are both ridiculously hot headed and angry characters, and Ed and Stimpy are both very stupid but friendly and lovable dorks.
4. They both have a ton of innuendos. For example, the scene where Eddy is searching under a bed, we see a magazine that looks like a pornographic magazine. In Ren and Stimpy, there is an episode "A Yard Too Far", which was riddled with masturbation jokes.
5. They both have a ton of some, uh, strange scenes. Like when Ren gets sick and Stimpy shoves a massive spoon into his mouth or when Ed eats his own bed.
6. They both usually take place in a neighborhood (culdesac in Ed, Edd n Eddy)
7. They both fuckin' rock!
